|
Hi There!
Heather - there is a lot of energy in your posting...I'm thinking you are going to have that baby this weekend and you are on your last wind! Crossing my fingers for you!! We have a busy weekend. Our first birthing class is this morning from 9-3. Then we have dinner with friends this evening (and some basketball to watch). And Sunday I am having a shower at my church! Should be lots of fun (unless the lady who calls me "fat girl" shows up). I will check back to see how you ladies are doing. |

Good Morning,
Hi Dena ~ How's the swelling so far? Sounds like you have a long day ahead of you. Have a good one .We went to this HUGE sale lastnight. It's a yearly event in Berkshire county. It's a baby's consignment sale. We got a pass to go in for the preview, so we were one of the first ones. There were about 50 people waiting in line for the doors to open when we got there. We got a bouncy seat that I had registered for for $10, it's like new the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders one. We also got a couple of the positioners in the boxes new for $4, I used one for ds for awhile. 4 or 5 adorable girl outfits mostly Carter's brand for $1-3 and a sleeping gown new with tags for $3. We got ds a few new video for $2 a piece and a Raffi tape . Oh and one of our friends who helps run the sale saved a Eddie Bauer double stroller for us. She insisted on buying it for us because it looks brand new! I have no idea how much she paid for it but she said it's ridiculously priced and she couldn't pass it up LOL. She said 3 other women were ticked at her because she got to it first and they new it wasn't for her lol. Anyway, sorry to ramble I just LOVE a bargain. On the way home dh started feeling crappy, when we got home he took his temp and it was 101+. It's still up there this morning . I hope he feels better soon. I also have to call ds's doctor this morning and have him checked, he hasn't been feeling well either .BBL I hope everyone has a nice weekend, looks like rain again here. Alli |

Hello everyone, I posted monday that my midwife was coming over, and I have just not had the time to post. I have tried to skim over a few post, but I am having a hard time keeping up on reading everyday. Anyway I did get to here the baby's heartbeat Monday and then my husband came home early so we heard it again, so that was great. Everything else was great. I have not been walking for about three weeks now and I was doing so great. THat is my goal to start my walking back up. I do not want to eat tons and be lazy too. I am 13 weeks today and I have only gained 3 pounds so I am very happy about that. Well I will close so I can go read more post from last week.
Hello to everyone, have a great weekend. |

Hey Gals.
Dar- DH was off of work so I wasn't online. It was 70 out and nice so we let the kids play outside alot (they are little and we have to keep a good eye on them) Ali- I had that problem too on my belly. One spot near the top above my belly button that was sore like a bruise Went away in about a week. MANDY!!! WOOOO HOOOOOO!!! See you are a great Mommy!! Keep up the good work! I can't remember anything else from yesterday LOL Here is some info for the newly PG Just my experience HTH Oh, the nausea thing kicked in for me at about 6 wks or so. I had it really bad this time. Dehydration and the whole 9 yds. Medication. The fatique was horrible. I won't scare ya'll with the details. Most start to crave healthy foods, especially those with iron and folic acid. Then it may turn to craving carbs and being nauseous or just other cravings. I drink (shhhh) 32 oz of diet coke WITH A TON OF ICE, so really not 32 oz a day. I gave up caffienated coffee with my first baby and cannot go back. Too strong and makes my panic attacks flair. I eat more tuna than allowed, eat lunchmeat etc. I have gotten more lax with each baby. BUT...it really is common sense eating. DEFINITELY no raw shellfish, or shark or mecury prone fish (except the canned tuna I get a bit more) Drs will usually give you a packet at your first major appt. with lots of info in it. For my Doctor, they don't do ultrasounds until 22-24 weeks unless necessary for some other reason (like spotting/ or high risk) They give you a blood test referral and that is it. Then you are scheduled for an appt at 8-10 wks which is really like 6-8 wks after conception. At that appt they do a full medical history of Mom and Dad, a full GYN exam with internal, pap if you are due for one and breast exam. Then visits every 4 weeks after that. Don't get your hopes up on hearing a heartbeat until after 12 weeks especially if you have some extra tummy padding. No worries. Okay, now for me. This baby moved AGAIN....I'm wondering if he turned sideways again? He was head down and I had a big bump right below my boobs... last night it moved down about 4-6 inches!! I feel more comortable sitting now but more pressure standing. No way this kid dropped already, I'm only 27 wks, but heck...feels like it! I don't have another appt until 4/22. Oh and above says I'm 3rd Tri. Doesn't the 3rd tri start at 30 wks? That is what my book says.

Wow Alli... sounds like you got some fantastic bargains!!! I love shopping, but even more so when I get stuff really cheap!
Karingreen... that's great about hearing the heartbeat... it's such an amazing thing isn't it? I need to get my hair cut, but I can't find any hairstyles that'll work for me... I have really thick (I mean REALLY thick) hair that is very slightly wavy... it holds no products (and I hate them anyway), always falls within 5 minutes no matter what is done to it, so I need a style that can just be brushed and go... it needs to be long enough that I can put it in a ponytail for when I'm in the car (I HATE having hair blow into my face), but short enough to be off my neck and shoulders... BUT when I get my hair cut shorter (typically go for about chin length) it's so thick that it just puffs out on the bottom and looks like a big poofy triangle on my head. ARGH! I hate this!!! Has anyone used the software where you put in your own picture and *try on* different hairstyles? I'm thinking about doing that, but I don't want to waste the money if it's no good.

Oh, VixenAmy-I suggest finding a good hair stylist that works with thick hair alot. I suggest a shoulder skimming bob type that they "cut into" alot making it kinda thinner. I have very thick hair but my older sis' is THICKER...you really need them to do alot of texturizing and chopping at it to get some of the thickness and triangleness out. Find someone good and you will love it. Good luck. |

Becca, when I updated on Monday, I based the trimesters on 13 and 27 weeks. I think that's what one of my books said.
![]() Well, I just logged on since I heard the Pope died. I'm going to just go check the news and log back off. DH and I are going to dinner tonight with friends.. our last 'big night out'. Those of you going to church tomorrow.. remember the time change and mass will probably be PACKED! |

Sad about the Pope. We actually saw him last year in June when we were in Rome. He was doing his last papal blessing before his summer vacation and came outside in an unarmored vehicle. It was an amazing experience....he was feeble but still did the blessing in three languages. Wow. I guess even though it is sad, 84 ain't too shabby!
I REALLY enjoyed the birthing class. DH did okay with watching the videos...better than I thought he would....he had to turn away in a few cases. ![]() I came out feeling better, and he came out feeling more nervous. Oh well!! Alli - Those sound like some awesome buys and how great of that lady to get you the double stroller...that rocks!!! Karingreen - glad you heard the heartbeat....it gets stronger and stronger each time!! The first time we went to hear our baby's, the nurse had a hard time finding it.....and no sooner did she find it, my cell phone went off and we all got distracted....it made me so mad....needless to say, the phone stays in the car now. ![]() Hey Becca, Darlene and Amy! Off to go eat Italian....is it too soon to eat eggplant parm? ![]() |

Hi again,
Nothing major here today. Dh is sick so ds and I have been trying to leave him alone. I tried to find some more maternity things today with no luck. We only had a Fashion Bug and a Kmart of choice. I hate Kmart I can never find anything in there. I'd rather go to Walmart that is much less clean than go to Kmart. Anyway, nothing in either store. I'm already beyone the XL in Fashion Bug. ~Karin - Congrats on hearing the heartbeat .~Becca - I know what you mean about feeling more pressure down below. I had that the other day. My SIL even said "OMG you look like you dropped". It must just be the way they move around because they're up again. ~Vixen - There is a site on the web where you can do the whole hair thing for free. I did it and it was hilarious! I think it may be Clairol or something, I'll do some looking and see what I can find. I just deleted it out of my bookmarks a few weeks ago. ~Dar - I hope you have a great "last night out". Dh and I were looking at the dbl stoller we got and thinking of how big it is etc. and I said "well how often do you think we'll be going out anyway"? We went out ALL the time with ds, but I can't imagine it with 2 babies and a 3 year old! ~Dena - Is dh going to be "down there" for the birth or up top? He sounds like a good candidate to stay at your head LOL. I don't remember who was asking about food, but I've been told it's fine to eat pasteurized soft cheeses, deli meat is okay in moderation just make sure to get it where the meat goes fast, I never asked about raw eggs, I don't think I eat them knowingly. As for soda etc. I very rarely have it and if I do I get caffeine free diet. I'm personally more concerned with the nutra sweet over the caffeine. I guess that's it for now, I think I really just needed to see the thread move . Anyone heard from Ames? Martha? Heather said she probably wouldn't get to the computer this weekend. Hang in there Mandy and Spencer .Alli |

Hey, kids, dinner was great. Dena, we also had Italain! It was delish!
Now I'm sitting here surfing while DH watches "The Office" (the new one.. boo) with our friends Liz, Mike, & Trae. Liz & Mike are the couple that stick around forever when they come over, and Trae is Dani's husband (the couple with the 9 month old). Dani went home with the baby. Anyways, there sticking around to check out the Xbox Live. I don't think I'll stay up too late, though. ![]() It will be interesting when we start going out to dinner again with a toddler and a new baby. It'll be a handful! Dena, how cool you saw the Pope in Rome! We saw him in '99 when he came to St. Louis and we went to the Papal mass, as well as seeing one of the motorcades. Mass was at the convention center/dome, and he came around to see everyone there before mass started. I remember we had to be up at about 4 am to be bussed downtown for mass, which didn't even start until about 10 or so. Later gang! |

Here is a picture of us in front of St. Peter's before we saw the Pope, and the next picture is the Pope himself.....we are not Catholic, but it was an amazing day and one of the best parts of our trip (including visiting the Sistine Chapel).

Alli - I think DH wants to stay up by my shoulder. He said it was hard enough to watch someone he didn't know, and he didn't want to see me go throught that.....surprisingly though, he said he wanted to cut the cord.
How about yours and other DH's? How will they be? |

Hi Dena,
My dh is an RN so he wouldn't care. We never got to that stage with ds though. After my water broke I was 43 hours and only got to 4cm so we went for a c/s. He took pictures the entire time. I kept saying take more pictures, take more pictures. We have pictures of ds half in and half out of me LOL. He wasn't even out and he was screaming like crazy. Apgars were 9 and 10 . If you get the urge to see some pictures pm and I'll send them your way. I doubt everyone here would be into that LOL.Hi Salty Alli |

Good morning!
Cory and Mya are still sleeping, so I'm taking advantage of the quiet time and checking my email and what-not while drinking my cup of mudd. Aaawww, it's so quiet! It's supssed to be in the upper 70's today. I was hoping to go to the drive-in tonight, but they haven't opened for the season yet. I found the recipe for Scalli's Eggplant Parm-from the resturant in Georgia, I made it last night and it was WONDERFUL. The sauce is super spicy! It has a whole tablespoon of crushed red pepper. I have a lot leftover, so I will be eating on it for the next few days, hopefully it will get things going! I also bought some fresh pineapple, the enzymes are supossed to help rippen the cervix. We had company last night and we watched the game, so happy that NCU won!! Today we have to go grocery shopping and we have a TON of yard work to work on. I'll talk to you guys after my appt tomorrow afternoon-have a good day!

Morning ladies...
Back from Atlanta! My meetings and presention went well. Board approved my plans for this quarter so all is well. I think Charlotte reacted pretty strongly to my adrenaline pumping because she was kick up a storm like never before all during the presentation. It was pretty funny! Flying wasn't as bad as I thought. The seatbelt clicked, but just barely. Another inch or 2 and I would have had to get an extender. :-/ I didn't get bumped up to first class, but luckily I had an empty seat next to me both ways so I put the arm up and wasn't too miserable. Thankfully I think I am done flying until fall at the earliest. I'm not sure what's happened in the last week but I feel MUCH bigger lately. She must have shifted positions or something because things are definitely different. Today we are going to look at some houses in West Virginia. I work in DC so we are talking one major commute there, but there are commuter trains and I think I can talk my boss into letting me go into the city only 1 or 2 days a week if we find something we like. Housing in the DC area is just ridiculous. There's no way we could find anything decent where we could have a substantial yard for the 2 dogs in Northern VA. Heck, I'm still in shock that we got approved for a mortgage. I thought for sure my credit was still totally traumatized from a rough patch 4 years ago. Dena, I also saw the pope in Rome about 7 years ago. It was a totally unforgettable experience. Thanks for sharing your pictures! Vixendrop, my mom says "you can never splurge too much on a good haircut or a good bra." How's that for beauty advice? I hope you find a style and stylist that works for you! Waves and hugs to everyone... gotta go try to salvage something to wear from the laundry basket! Meg

Hey, gang.. just got back from church. I had Alison blessed.
That was kind of cool.So far, before I even went to church this morning, I made strawberry scones (turned out okay) and put another coat of paint on the shelves I'm working on. I hope to get them up today to show you, but I'm going to a housewarming party at 2, so I may not get them done. I don't plan to stay too long, though. DH is playing golf with friends, and the course is about an hour away.. so I want to take advantage of the quiet house while I can! Guess what? My Dad is going to the basketball game tomorrow night!! How cool is that? A friend had an extra ticket and offered it to him. My parents are both MSU alums, so he's bummed they didn't win I'm sure, but it's still cool no matter who plays. I'm sure he'll root for Illinois.. us Big Ten folks have to stick together. I don't think I have any of my pics from the Papal visit digitized, otherwise I'd share them. Dena, my DH will have to be by my head, but if I were doing a vaginal delivery, I think he'd stay up there for that, too. Not because he couldn't handle it, just because that's where I'd want him. |

Dar, I can't believe how busy you have been!! How are you feeling with four days to go?
I FEEL LIKE CRAP!!! I guess everyone keeps telling my I look like it, so now I feel like it! ![]() That's great that your Dad is going to the game!! Everyone should watch an ACC team win live when they can. LOL!!! ![]() Meg - I am so with you on the seat belt thing. There is no WAY I'd fit without an extension now. I'm actually tired of hearing about how big I look. Maybe people think it's encouraging....I know they mean well. Alli - That's awesome your DH is an RN!!! I have an appointment Wed.....I guess I'm going to do the Strep B test and get an internal exam...I'm not sure much is going on at 36 weeks, but she is supposed to tell me what position the baby is in. I can't wait to find out what body parts have been poking me. VixenAmy - Did you get your hair cut? |

Ha ha, Dena, aren't you funny. NOT!
![]() I just have never been a person to sit still. You should ask my DH.. I can never sit through a whole game when it's on tv (whether it be football, baseball, whatever). If I think of something I have to do around the house, I get ants in my pants. It's terrible. You'd think with all this energy to burn, I wouldn't have weight problems! Now, I can't sit still because it's too painful to stay in one spot!Anyways, after the little housewarming shindig (where I brought my younger pup and she ran for two hours straight around the pool deck.. and now has open blisters on her poor feet!), I was really feeling crappy. My hips are killing me, baby's feet are up in my ribs, and I keep getting more BH. But I still can't sit still! I laid down for a bit, then worked on a few things. I don't have the shelves up and that aggravates me. I really am looking forward to seeing how it turns out. It's a project I've wanted to do for a while. I've been chilling for the past hour, though. I tried to finish the taxes, but DH kicked me out of the office to do homework, so I think I'll head to bed. I have to go for bloodwork in the am before work. I didn't realize how late it was (darn time change). Other than physically ready for this to be over, I'm just plain terrified/excited. Can't decide which overrules the other. It's so weird.. we ordered pizza for dinner (yeah, and DH is supposed to be back on induction! ).. and I think about how I'll only have two more dinners and home, and DH can have the leftovers for while I'm gone. What an odd feeling!Hoping Heather and Martha's babies get moving soon! Meg, you guys are going to leave your cabin? |
