Just wanted to say a quick hello. It's been a nice day here today, I've been working on my needlepoint out in the sun--Heather, as far as I know, its just called needlepoint. The canvas is something like 18 gague mesh, and I use mainly embroidery floss.
I'm way behind on my housekeeping, mom is coming Saturday. But, I did get a major shopping done this morning--all stocked up on heavy stuff I don't want to lug with a baby Hope everyone is well! |

Way too much time on my hands!

Good Morning!
Darlene - I got the baby moving yesterday. It's still not the same, but it must be from living in cramped quarters. Like I said, I can watch my stomach move and it's obvious that there is movement, but it just doesn't feel as strong or as frequent. Make sense? Keeping my fingers crossed for Heather....wonder if Martha will go before Darlene? VixenAmy - My BH are coming more frequently....they seem stronger, well, tighter....but they don't hurt at all....just make me feel like I have to pee RIGHT THEN. ![]() Good Morning Alli!!

Dena, as they run out of room, movements turn more to 'squirming' than actual kicks and rolls. Although, sometimes she manages to get a good kick in once in a while.
I hope Martha goes sooner rather than later! I'd hate to go before her. ![]() |

Dena...I had a dream about you and your gas...you STUNK!! LOL
You won't feel the same kind of movement now that the baby is tight. He/she is all curled up in there. You will find a new pattern of movement that makes you feel secure. It changes alot. Darlene-sorry you are swollen, not too much longer now. This is the hardest part IMO. The last few weeks/days. Martha-relax as much as you can now. Ali-A shower alone? What is that? Or at least without someone calling your name, fighting or busting in. LOL I need to eat better today. I have been BAAADD for the past few days. I was in so much pain last night while laying down...I can't take this anymore. Much worse that with either of my other 2. Every part of me hurts from shoulders to knees. The swollen ankles are nothing right now. I can't even get up out of bed, because it hurts so bad. Not sure what to do. Sorry to complain. I feel like that is all I have done. OKAY, Post-partum Tidbit of the Day Don't be alarmed if when you come home from the hospital and wake up in the middle of the night DRENCHED in sweat. Perfectly normal hormonal thing. You might even sweat more all day long....it will pass. You may also lose a bit of hair if your hair thickened in pregnancy. Keep taking your prenatals as well... this will help fuel your body.

Thanks for the heads up, Becca.. much appreciated! Actually, last night DH came to bed about midnight, and I woke up sweating! I'm usually cold, so it was unusual. I guess we had not turned the air back on (had the windows open in the afternoon), and our house was getting pretty warm after we closed up. Still.. weird for me.
I literally drowned myself in water last night hoping the swelling would go down, but I think I'm stuck with it. It's mostly my right foot/ankle, but my left foot is swollen, too. And my wedding ring is currently resting on my pinky. Becca, any chance you can get a massage? I know with the other kids and all, it's probably hard to squeeze in, but I HIGHLY recommend it and if anyone here needs it, I think it's you! Speaking of eating bad.. DH brought home some cupcakes filled with chocolate and buttercream. Mmmmm... |

Dar, if you're scheduled for the 6th, I bet we meet your little girl before my little guy! Although, I think he dropped all the way today--I was sitting in the chair, and I heard and felt something against my pelvic bone (like his head, maybe). M/W said he was almost there yesterday, but she could still move him back and forth a little. Strangely enough, my pelvic pain seems less...maybe his head is stabalizing things down there a bit?
Becca, I need to eat better too! |

I definitely have not had any sensations like that. I get weird sensations down low, but it feels like I just need to pee, really. I mean, she's bigger now and bumps up against anything and everything she can. She kicks up into my ribs, and I feel like I need to pee at the same time.

Becca - I'm sure your dream was spot on.....I stink alright....it's even worse being pregnant.....I can't stand the smell of myself....I figured it was the prenatal vitamins...yucky.
I'm sorry you are in pain....have you determined what is causing it (or did I miss that already). Thanks for always offering your opinions and making us feel better.....I think I am settling in with these new feelings of movements. |

Morning again,
UGH! I had a nice post and ds turned off the computer .~Becca - I actually got to shower ALONE! Ds was busy watching Barney . Sorry you're in so much pain. I have bad sciatica when I lie down, it takes me quite awhile to get back up and once I do it's about 10 feet or so before I can stand up straight. Maybe you could take 1 Tylenol before bed to take the edge off. A hot tub or shower maybe?~Dena - I was thinking the same thing, once the baby get so big there's not much room for big movements anymore. ~Martha - Easy on the sun. It seems like just yesterday you were nearly sun-stroked .~Dar - Swelling SUCKS! With ds I didn't swell until the last month or so. With this pregnancy I've been swelling for awhile now, half of my shoes don't fit . I can't wait until it's warm enough to wear slip-ons. Hang in there.BBL Alli |

You'd think, being in Florida, I'd be happy wearing flip flops or something. But I HATE having my feet exposed. Weird, I know.. but unless I'm going to the beach or pool, I'd rather wear sneakers. I think it's cause I hate my toes.
Fortunately, my Skechers have lots of give, so I've been wearing them every day. Even my favorite sneakers, my New Balance, are too tight. They are meant to be, I guess, due to their support. And really, my sandals would be okay in a pinch, but even they are too tight. I'm just worried about if I'll be able to wear any shoes home.. due to all the fluids from IV's, I bet I'll be swollen. Kelley said she was swollen for days and days afterwards. |

Ali, thanks for the concern, but sunstroke is hardly a problem here...I'm at lattitude 59.3, the sun barely clears the neighbours roof, and I think the high temp today was 55, maybe 65 in the sun and out of the wind....
*from the cusp of the artic circle* Oh, and the pelvic bump was not loud or strong, it felt like a joint creaking, but I was sitting still. |

Glad you guys are okay with the tips/tidbits. There is so much stuff you just don't know and never know if it is normal.

Thanks for the concern guys, I appreciate it. I don't want to be a complainer. This pain is just wearing on me. Regarding dropping-some babies don't drop until you are getting ready to deliver, I never noticed that mine did, although some would say I looked like I dropped. Don't get too hung up on it if you don't notice it. Dar-are you dialated at all?? I know you are having a SCS but just wondered. I never dialated before labor with either of my kids. Anyone heard from Metroames? |

Hello!
Mya and I have been out and about today, it is so nice out-finally not so windy. I hate this windy midwest. I took her to storytime, then to the park and we walked around the pond/lake, then we had a picnic and now she is down for her nap! Yay! It kinda makes me sad that these are our last few days together just me and her. Anyway.... I had a total breakdown last night, I couldn't stop crying. My doctor and I keep going round and round and she's really pissing me off. She keeps saying she dosen't like her patients to go over 41 weeks. WTH? The way I see it, your body will go into labor when it's ready, I do not want to be induced again. If anybody has any suggestions on how I should handle this, please bring em on! She actually scheduled an induction for this MONDAY! I basically told her she was smoking crack, that's only 4 days past my due date.

Heather, I agree with Mrs Sarah... they can't force you to have an induction, you have the right to refuse any medical procedure... but your doc can drop you as a patient... I'd call around and try to find a midwife... lots of midwives will take a patient even this late. I know of a woman on another board that switched to a midwife the day before she went into labor.
In the meantime, simply don't show up for the induction. They won't kidnap you for it. |

Hello ladies~
Chels--Yes, you sent me the PM. Thanks! Alli--What does your DS think about getting a new brother and sister? I was 3 1/2 when my little brother was born, and I wanted my parents to return him to the hospital! Martha--Hope you aren't in too much pain. Dar--Sorry about the swelling and the shoe problems. Just think, your little one will be here in a few short days. Heather--I can't believe you are still here! (I am sure you are getting really sick of hearing that too ). Sorry your doctor wants to induce you. Can you just not show up on Monday? Good luck finding a solution.Becca-- I love your tips! I am clueless about most of this. Of course I still have a long way to go. Luna--I noticed your sig......are you still working out?? What kind of exercise do you to? I work out with weights about 5 hours a week, and I would like to continue to work out once I am pregnant. Well, it is another beautiful day here. I am actually looking forward to doing yard work this weekend. We have a ton of leaves to pick up. And sticks. But it will be nice to get outside. We have a lot of other stuff to do too, since we were gone the last two weekends. Have great day! Louise |

Well, my insurance will not accept a midwife or nurse practitioner. I told her to cancel the induction, medically the baby is doing fine! What really ticks me off is that they measured the baby during my u/s at 22 weeks and again at 33 weeks and he's measured to be due April 10 but she said they don't change the due date unless its a 14 day difference. (That's a 10 day difference.) Well, 10 days can make a big difference IMO!

I should have listened to The Girlfriends Guide!!
I wore pantyhose for the first time today and OH...MY...GOD!! I thought I was sqeezing myself in half! I couldn't take them off. I do a lot of walking around and my big fat thighs would give me heat rash so I couldn't take them off. Finnally a friend of mine told me to cut the elastic waist. I feel a bit better...but it is still tight around my tummy. ![]() |

, Dar. I completely sympathize. My feet started swelling some in my 5th month (July in FL). By the 7th month it was almost a normal thing. I didn't want to wear flip flops or even slip ons too much because the didn't help the swelling. I was down to just one or two pair of shoes by the end. And yes, they will be even bigger after you have the baby. The shoes I wore to the hospital the night I went in were almost too tight to wear home. I thought I was going to have to go home in my socks. But I managed to slip them on with some force. It was almost 10 days later before I saw my ankles. I was so happy, as I hadn't seen them in months !
