Blabbermouth!!!

Morning girls.. couldn't get back to sleep after the doggies requested a potty break. My house smells like lasagna, which made my tummy growl, so I decided to get up. And my hands ache and are tingly from all that stirring, I think. And, AGAIN, it's raining! I swear my yard's going to be a foot tall before it dries out enough for DH to mow!
I don't know what's up with the formatting above. I changed the font a couple times to see if it would look different. I keep getting spaces in weird places. Look how many 3rd tri mommies we have now!!! OMG!!! I hope I got all the updates right. Dena, sorry about the indegestion. Did the Zantac help? I've had heartburn a couple times, and I know how painful it can be! Like your chest is on fire! Wasn't it about two weeks ago I was hating pregnancy? In about two more weeks you'll be in the home stretch! I'm ready for it to be over. Honestly. As you can see, I'm counting the days..Speaking of, I went to edit my siggy and got an error it was too long, that's why it's trimmed. New format thing, I guess. SmileyAmy, we went with a convertible. It converts to a queen size bed in the end. We went with it because we really liked it, thought it was just a good looking crib/bed, and will last us a long time. Kim, I'm so sorry Megan is having even more trouble with the formula. She's such a doll, though! Martha, Well, my hands hurt too much to type anymore.. I'll catch you all later. Going to try to get back to sleep. Last edited by Dar20 : 03-28-2005 at 02:39 AM. |

Dar - Did I miss a post about you being out of work? If not, what are you doing up at 4:30?
![]() The Zantac helped!! After all of the drama, I ended up sleeping pretty good for a change. Kim - she is beautiful!!! What a head of hair! Can't wait for more pictures!!! Anyone ordered birth announcements? I preordered the envelopes so I could address them before the baby got here, but I wasn't sure how many to get.....is there some "rule" as to who you send them to? Alli - the site is twinshock.net....Beth is the admin, but I'm not sure what her screenname is....it's a "contemporary" site. I honestly haven't registered for it because I'm not having twins.....I meant to ask her if it was exclusive to people with multiples.

Morning Ladies,
Hey Dar - Maybe you have a touch of pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. I had it with ds and have it again. It's a PITA and can be very painful and uncomfortable. I take B6 to help. Dena - Thanks for the site, I'll have to check it out and tell her you sent me .Smiley - We went with the convertible also. It worked out perfect for us. We used it for a crib with ds until he climbed out around 2years old, then we converted it to a toddler bed, now he's in a twin and we'll reuse the crib for the twins. I figure you're going to either need to buy another bed once another baby comes along anyway. The twin bed we bought for ds is a bunk, but we won't be putting them together as bunks until the boys are MUCH older. So, our little girl will end up with the crib as a full-size bed. Ramble, ramble, ramble.... Sorry LOL - Since the twins surprised us it's not as easy as it was supposed to be. Kim - How's Megan this morning? BBL - Taking ds to playgroup for a few hours. Hope everyone had a nice holiday .Alli |

Re: birth announcements.. I went back to my wedding invitation list. I picked off the obvious.. parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. Then, I talked to my Mom yesterday to see if there were others I should send to. She requested a few people, such as old friends, cousins of hers that came to the wedding, etc. I sent the file to my MIL, and hopefully she'll give me a response soon. Not sure if there's a rule or not! I'm planning on getting them addressed and the outer part made this week (hence my Michael's dilemma). And the data on the inside I'm just printing on vellum when she's here and pasting to the inside of the card.... keeping it as simple as possible! Re: No stretch marks.. don't hate me because I'm beautiful! LOL... no, really, you have to remember that I used to weigh this much before, back before my depression I was about 210. Last dr. visit I was 205. So, I'm almost up to my old weight, but this time there's a baby as a bonus. I guess my skin handles it well or was just used to it? Alli, yes, my dr. told me a while ago that I probably have pregnancy carpal tunnel when I asked about it. It was just really bad this morning! For being tired I'm in a chipper mood. BBL.. ![]() |

Morning ladies! Yuck...Monday!
It was a long weekend for me...but sure didn't feel like one! Dar ~ Hopefully your baby will be here soon!! Sorry you couldn't sleep. I am gettng to the point where no position is comfy, so I toss and turn all night long! Dena ~ Glad the heartburn went away. Birth announcements??? I have never seen one or recieved one. Didn't know anything about them. I don't think I will be sending any out, but sounds like a great idea! Alli ~ Morning!! I think with the crib, I am just going to pick out what I like and if it happens to be a convertable bed, so be it. I supposed if we have another child, we will figure out what is best then. I know I won't be getting a toddler bed. This kid will go straight from the crib to the big girl bed! LOLLouise ~ Ewww...returning to work after vacation is the worst!! Mandy ~ Waiting to hear some news! *crossing fingers* Not much going on here...a delightfully rainy Monday. My favorite!! Well, I will pop back later!

Morning everyone!
Good luck today, Mandy! Sorry for all of you who had a less than comfortable weekend for various burpy, gassy, achey reasons. Kim -- it must be so frustrating trying to figure out what is wrong with Megan. I hope that both of you get some relief soon. Okay, girls, I need your help. I am currently 10 days past ovulation. I promised myself I wouldn't test until TOM was late, but I couldn't help it! Problem is, I don't know how to interpret the results. I got a very faint second line on my HPT this morning!! Does this mean anything? Can anyone who remembers what their negative looked like tell me if you sometimes see this very faint line? Everything I've read said a second line is a second line, but it's pretty faint. Though not so much so that my DH couldn't see it too. I made him look. We both read it within the amount of time in the instructions, so I know it's not an evaporation line. But it's just so faint I don't trust it. I know I can just wait and try again in a couple of days but I must know NOW. What do you think? Anyone ever seen a faint line and not be pregnant? I don't know what to think!! HELP. K. ![]() |

Hi everyone!
I am a bit behind, I know there are some new ladies here so I wanted to say !I had to shorten my signature too when I tried to edit it. I think the overall sentiment is still there though. The crib I picked out happens to be convertible. But then I really don't know if we'll want another baby. Took us 8 years to decide to have this one! Oh regarding the stretch marks, I imagine you have all heard how it’s a hereditary thing. Well, my mother didn't get them but sister did. I just spoke to my sister this weekend and she gave me the unhappy news that they didn't show up until after she gave birth! So I've been on constant lookout for them and haven't got any yet but I guess it will be awhile till I'm in the clear. I am covered in veins though! |

Kaillean, the general rule is there are false negatives, but no false positives. My first positive (taken the day TOM was expected) was VERY VERY faint.. that's why I took another one a day later and there was NO mistaking it. I think HCG levels double or something each day early in pregnancy, so while may be faint today, 24 hours from now it could be very easy to see a positive. How exciting! I hope it's true!

Thanks Dar. I'm afraid to get too excited. I don't know how I am going to wait until tomorrow now to test again!
It would be pretty cool ... and amazing... to get lucky on the first try at my advanced maternal age. OMG! Can this be happening? ![]() |

I've always heard a line is a line, if you know you've done the test right... I'd suggest testing again tomorrow and seeing if the line is still there and if it's gotten darker.
Amy, we're registered for a convertible crib because I like the idea of it staying with the kid... BUT if we do have another baby (which we're currently planning on) we might just buy a toddler bed for this girl (letting her pick it out might make her feel less like being evicted from her crib, ya know?) and let the next baby use the crib... just because it does convert doesn't mean it HAS too. This weekend was pretty nice... Saturday DH and I went to Prescott to visit a friend... we walked around all day window shopping... it was nice, but when I got home I thought my ankles were going to pop! And then yesterday we went to see Richard's family in the evening for Easter... no Easter dinner... she had a buffet of tritip and chips and salsa... we all went swimming after dinner too... OMG! The pool was so warm and relaxing... I HIGHLY recommend swimming to everyone! It really took pressure off my hips!

Kaillean, my first two HPT were nothing but a barely-there squiggle. DH and I just kept looking at them and saying:
"I dunno. Maybe. What do you think." "Not sure. Kinda, but you can barely see it." "Yeah, probably not. But maybe. What do you think?" "I dunno." Then, he got smart and bought the digital kind that said "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant." In my experience, if there's anything that might be a line, or a blob, or a squiggle, it's a positive. But I highly recommend the digital kind. |

I also fall into the "line is a line" camp. For this pregnancy I got a very, very faint line at 10 dpo. I tried a few other brands of tests over the next few days and they all had lines, some very faint some darker. So, most likely Congratulations are in order!
I'll check back later... waiting for Mandy's post! ![]() |

Hi,
Thanks for the reassurances girls. I was afraid to believe it. But I looked at the one I took yesterday (okay, confession time! ) and its definitely darker than that one. I didn't count yesterday's at all as it was so faint I really had to squint to see it. Magpie -- that's a good idea to get the digital one. I think I'll do that for DH. He is even more unsure than me! I phoned him a little while ago to say everyone is saying a line is a line, and that I'd looked at some pics of people's tests on the internet that were faint but positive. But I think he's worried it's wishful thinking on my part. OMG. I can't believe we did it first try. I was so afraid it would take months and months. I just hope if this IS a positive that it sticks!! HOLY COW!! I have so much work to do today and I don't know how I'm going to be able to concentrate on any of it. Funny thing is, I always hated being a Dec baby. My birthday is Dec 22. And now it looks like I've done the same thing to my kid! ![]() |

Kaillen ~ OMG!! If it is positive...and it sounds like it is, I am so, so happy for you!! You are one of the lucky ones! Do you have any symptoms? The day I found out, I was in a daze all day. I don't know how I got a thing done. Take another test tomorrow would be my advice...and then run, not walk, run to your PC and let us know what is shows!!
By the way...how do you know if it is an evaporation line? Is there a difference?? One thing did happen over the weekend that I wanted to ask you guys about. My upper stomach...almost ribs hurt last night whenever I got up. Could that be the baby moving it's way up?? Or is it just a regular old stretching pain? |

Morning guys~
Ew! I hate this new format. This looks like the motheringdotcommune website. I'm checking in, we just got home from visiting at my mom and dads for the weekend. I am completley worn out, I did way too much. I'm not going to do ANYTHING theses next two days, I just went and got a blockbuster movie pass, all the movies you can watch for $20 the first month, not a bad deal. Later gatars! |

Thanks Amy!
No, I don't really have any symptoms. I felt a bit of cramping around ovulation and then again on Friday. I thought Friday was in the right time frame for implantation, so I was hopeful, but when I felt it I was also on a long bike ride after a couple of very lazy weeks, so I thought it might also just be exertion. Yesterday, my boobs were a wee bit sore near my underarms but that started fading last night, so I didn't think it was anything. I've had a couple of VERY fleeting dizzy moments, and 1 nausea moment. But honestly, these were SO short that I thought I was imagining things just because I wanted to be pregnant. I just chalked it up to standing up too fast or whatever. Thursday, I was super hungry, but that's certainly not unheard of! I just can't believe it. I'm totally blown away that we did it on the first try. I was trying to psyche myself up for a long wait because I'm 37. I just pray it sticks!! As to what evap lines are -- I can't really say. I just read that it can happen if you wait past the reccommended time to read your results. As the urine evaporates, I guess it can cause lines sometimes. But I don't know from first hand experience. I read mine in the 3 min time frame, so I'm hoping it's a real positive. Do you guys think it's worthwhile testing again tonight. Would I likely get a darker line? Or should I just wait a couple of days more? I go from elation to disbelief to pessimism and back to elation again at any given moment! ![]() |

Hello everyone, I have been offline for 4 or 5 days so I have no idea what everyone is up to. Ihope everyone is well. I had server or maybe phone line problems not really sure but hey I am on now. The board has taken a major change. I will have to get use to it.
I had a great and busy Easter, family came in and local family we all got together at my house Sat. night and Sun. after church. It is always nice having all the family together, but a lot of work and I am tired. Today my midwife is suppose to come over for a prenate so we should have no problems hearing my little ones heart beat because I am 12 weeks and 2 days, I am excited about that. I will pop in later and tell you all about my visit/prenate. Have a great day. I will try to read some back post and catch up if I can. |

Kaillean, I also recommend the digital one. Here's what happened to me.. On Sunday, I took the regular old EPT, and got a faint second line (seriously, at 4 am I thought it was double vision). It was within the 3 minutes, but very faint. On Monday, I tried the digital... it says that a result can take up to so many minutes. I got a positive in about 20 seconds. No doubt about it. So, go buy a digital one, and try again the morning or late tonight. Good luck! Whee.. I'm so excited!!!!
Oh, and question for you all.. do I need to keep taking prenatals post delivery? I'm assuming if I bf, I do... just wondered. I can see myself packing them in my bag and totally forgetting to take them. ![]() |

Hi everyone
![]() Dar, I had the same thing last night, and I've been sleeping so well! I laid awake from 2-5 for no reason. I can't believe you only have a few days left!!! Dena, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about birth announcements. I'll probably just order the full service version and have someone address them, because they're non existant over here. I'd like to put a photo in, though. Thinking about it, they probably won't go out until summer! Smiley, we got the convertible crib. It changes to a toddler bed, and then into a small sofa. It's a really nice piece of furniture, and if Baby doesn't want it in his room, we'll be happy to put it in our bedroom when he outgrows the bed part. I'm just tired of buying disposable furniture...but I can see its advantages too... Kaillean, That's fantastic! My first test(s) were pretty faint too. I would test in the morning with your first urine--it's most concentrated. Heather, I don't care for the new colors/format either... Hi Luna, Ali, Karin and anyone else I missed! So, Not much happening here still hanging out. Had a nice and relaxing easter weekend. We went to a dog show--I'm trying to convince DH his "alergies" can be mentally conqured. He liked the Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers and Besenji (sp?) I would go for a Wheaton in a second, not sure about the Besenji, though, I don't know anything about them. The weather was vastly improved, we even sat out on our deck in the sun most of Friday and Saturday and I even got a little color, which always makes me feel good! DH snapped a couple belly pictures, I'll try to post them later--probably tomorrow. Mandy, hope everything is going OK with you! Chels, sorry to hear about your crappy week last week. Hope this one goes better! We met with the doula again today, and that went well. She's going to be a big help. Baby is beginning to drop, but not down completely yet. People are beginning to ask us when we think Baby will come...DH thinks the 15th. I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be one of those hanging out at 43 weeks having labor last 5 days or something! DH is travelling (not far) until Wednesday night Hope everyone else is well! |

Hello all.
Kaillean, go digital! I highly recommend it. That way there is no way to misinterpret the results. I also have always heard a line is a line. I'm hanging out just waiting on the doctor to roll his u/s machine in. I don't expect him until after his clinic hours though; last week it was 6:30 before he made it in. I haven't felt like I've been leaking fluid, so I'm hoping I've reaccumulated some. Of course, I didn't feel like I'd leaked any between my last 2 u/s either and I hadn't rebuilt any fluid. Ideally, my bag will have resealed itself and be holding tons and tons of fluid, but I'm trying to remain hopefully guarded and realistic. Spencer is still sounding good and moving around, so that is good. Just pray for good results on the u/s. Hope everyone is having a great day, even those of you who are suffering! LOL Mandy

Mandy, I'm glad to see you popped in. You've made it through this past week, that's so wonderful!
I'm praying for good u/s results. Martha, Basenji's are wonderful little dogs. They have no bark. They do make sounds, but are known for not having a bark. They are just so cute. When Molly, my Aussie, was little, we were at the dog park and there was a local Basenji club there. Molly had a blast running around with them. Personally, I'm not a fan of terriers. Way to independent for me. They don't really listen well at all. How do you know baby's dropped? What does it feel like? Gosh, it doesn't seem fair if I have my baby first, you know? |

Dar, My bump looks a little lower. I can breathe a little easier is the main effect. Maybe I'm imagining it all! I am pretty sure he rolled over, though, and is now laying with his back to my left side. His movements seem different too, still frequent, but smaller--if that makes any sense.I'll try and do those pictures now...not that I have before's, though. |

Mandy-positive thoughts!! Kaillean-Hun...you are pregnant. A line is a line, it detects the hormone, if it is there it turns if not, no sign of a line.. A faint line IS positive. Call your OB and get a blood test. There is no mistaking that. Congrats! Remember EPT the Error Proof Test. LOL Smiley-Hate to tell ya but your ribs hurting are only the beginning. Chances are it is just stretching of muscles and stuff. Baby shouldn't be up that high yet...probably still laying side to side. At 28 wks most are only 14 inches long and then curled up so.. Hey everyone! Sorry if I seem grumpy. I'm not sleeping well at all. Trying to get DS in his bed and DD sleeps in hers but only if I lay down with her. I get up 6-10 per night with having to turn over, pee or take care of them. I can't take much more of this! I swear I feel 38 wks pregnant right now.
