Just getting us started today. DH was home sick yesterday, and our furniture finally came! I'll take some pictures and post them later--I'm really happy with the room!

Jai, I couldn't find your stats to add you to the list...but congrats!

I'll be back in a bit

Thanks, Jai. I added you

OK, before I forget or get sidetracked, here are some nursery pictures:

Here's a good shot of the crib:

This is from our bedroom:

The lighting in this one is bad, but you can get the idea of the layout/size/dresser. The top of the dresser folds back and there's a changing pad that goes in there (they forgot to send it, though )

OK, I'll be back later to do personals, I have to clean out the car while the weather is decent!

Dar, great pictures! I also commend you on your strength in working through things with your hubby! That must have been so tough. We're looking at a long dry spell, I think we've only had intercourse once or twice since getting preggers, and one other incident of, well, mutual satisfaction. And the sex was before Thanksgiving!

Smiley, I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you're not touchy-feely, then that's just you! Our sex life has been pretty much non existant. DH has mentioned before that he has a problem with my weight, and now it's just worse, and compounded by my pelvic pain and feeling not so fresh. But, we do cuddle a lot--not too touchy feely, but lots of sweet talk and lovey dovey stuff like that.

Louise, oh, Utah! You must be having a blast!

karatejen, very cute pics! Especially his eyes in the first one, what a charmer!

Hey Becca, being frustrated is a bummer. I hope you can get some release soon!

Heather, I'm kind of like that too. I think our sex life would be much better if hubby put more effort into getting me in the mood.

Hi Sarah & Kelley

Nell, welcome to the group and congrats!!

Chelle, oohs and ahhhs to those pictures! She looks so thoughtful in the bottom one!

Hi Meg, how're your dogs doing?

Jai, maybe I missed something, but what's making you high risk?

Well, I'm beat! I vacuumed/cleaned out the inside of the car. Two very rude guys at the gas station were blocking the vacuum with their tow trucks and didn't want to move for me, but after an argument they finally did Then I went grocery shopping. I knew I should have done that yesterday. The place was absolutely packed, I could barely move inside the store! Payday is usually on Friday, but it must have been yesterday due to the Easter holiday...Anyhow, I think it's nap-time!

It feels so good to have the nursery ready! It's really making things real for me! Last night after we set up the crib, I kept envisioning our little one in there. Up until now, I've mostly been thinking about his arrival into the world, and the changes we'll have to deal with. But seeing his bed, makes me think of him sleeping there, me nursing him, changing him, etc...lots of warm fuzzy feelings!

Tonight we're going out for pizza with two other women and their husbands from our birth class. They are both due any day now, I think.

Big hello to anyone I missed!

Martha - great pictures!! I love the way the nursery is so close to yours, but it is still its own room. Looks great.....can't wait for the next set of pictures to have the baby in them!!!

I'm off for an early appointment. I think it's just a weight, urine, BP and heartbeat check. Be back soon!!!

Good morning to those who come in!!!

Good morning ladies,

~Martha - The nursery looks great . Isn't it fun getting all the goodies together? You didn't have to move the furniture did you ?

~Jai - Congratulations, I hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy .

~Dena - I hope your appointment goes well. You mentioned the other day that your friend who had twins talked about being sweaty all the time. That is how I feel. I am constantly damp under the boobs, under the arms and I even have to change my undies a couple of times a day and that's with wearing a liner. I consantly feel icky.

~Dar - The pictures look great! You look like you're gaining in all the right places.

~Amy - I'd talk to the doctor. If for no other reason than the fact that you deserve to have a good sex life. You'd be surprised at how different your relationship will become when the sex is good .

~Becca - I guess I have no advice other than trying a lube of some sort, maybe once you get going things will happen.

~Vixen - Isn't today your final appointment with you midwife? I'm anxious to see what she says.

~Mandy - Thinking of you and yours as always .

~Shelley - Just a hello in case you have time to lurk or check in. I haven't seen a picture yet, I think I missed it.

~Louise - How nice to be on vacation, I'm jealous .

~Jen - The pictures are so adorable.

~Hi Heather, Kelley

~nbecker - Congratulations and welcome to the "club".

~Kaillean - Hi good luck TTC, I recognize you from the locarber forum .

~Chelle - Elena is growing so fast! What a cutie.

~Meg - I don't envy you on the flight . Good luck I hope it's a comfortable one.

I'm hoping I have a better day today than the other day. I at least woke up feeling semi-comfortable LOL. I found out yesterday that I don't do a fasting GTT. I am doing a GCT (Glucose Challenge Test). That's where you eat a regular meal, then drink the stuff within 5 minutes and then go to the lab to get blood drawn at 1 hour . If I fail that one, then I'll go for the GTT. I thought this was good news . I don't think I'll feel so gross afterward if I eat my protein first.
I have an appointment with a midwife tomorrow. My OB will be out of the office and I had a choice of another doctor or the midwife. I've known who she was for years, just never had to visit her.
The night before ds and I were being discharged another woman came in to deliver. The midwife checked her and sent her home for a few hours. She came back in and was checked again and told she had a while to go. Well about a half an hour later, her mother comes running out of her room saying she needs to push. The nurses told her not to . Needless to say, the nurses just caught the baby as he was coming out! I wish my birth was that easy LOL.
Anyway, hi to anyone I missed. I'll be back later to check in. I also want to show you the cutest twin set I bought yesterday. I hope I'm not jinxing anything by buying a few things already.

Hi Ladies,
I don't think I have posted since my first post. I guess I'm just a bit shy but I do lurk everyday.
I found out a couple of weeks ago that we are having a boy! I was so happy, I always wanted a boy first. I have to go back for another ultrasound Tuesday b/c the AFP (I think thats what its called) was abnormal for spina bifida. The first level 2 I had they said everything did look ok but wanted to check again in a month after he has grown more. I was really worried at first, but have calmed down alot.

Well I just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I have been keeping up with all of you. I just dont have much to say sometimes.

Take care everyone.

Morning, ladies!

Congrats on the boy, kclynn!

Martha, the nursery looks great! I know what you mean about envisioning baby in the house. After DH set up the Pack n Play in our room, I had a dream that I woke up during the night, changed her, fed her, and put her back to bed. It seemed so real. We were worried about you yesterday. Don't do that!

Hoping Emily and Heather are doing well

Jai, I like your new siggy!

I'm getting weird feelings way down low that started last night. Almost like my insides are going to fall out. I have the urge to pee ALL the time (instead of every hour or two), even after I just went! And I'm leaking alot more, too. That had stopped for awhile. I have a dr. appt. in a couple hours, so it will be interesting to see if anything's really changed. I'm not looking forward to it.. the internal exam was pretty painful last week, but at least DH was with me. The dr. always makes sure there's a nurse there if DH isn't, but that doesn't help the pain!

Not much else in my world except yucky weather today. I bet the spring breakers are loving it. Ha!

Hey Dar,

Don't forget to mention the Fifth's Disease to the doctor. Have a good visit, maybe you're dialating .

It's on my list! I have to make lists of questions, or I forget!

I do have a question about dialating, though. Would one lose their mucus plug before/after/during dialating.. or "it depends"??

Dar, maybe the baby dropped?!

QOTD: What's everyone planning for a going home outfit? I have this one:

But my mom said I didn't want to dress him up just for going home, that he could wear a onsie or little kimono...

Oh, here's another one: Has anyone heard about Thimerosal-Free Vaccines? She's all concerned about that too...

Dena, hope you had a good appointment

Ali, I hope my delivery is like that too!

KClynn, sorry about the AFP results, I hear they have a lot of false positives...is that the right term? It's when they say you have something when you really dont. I'm sure it will work out

Mandy, how are you feeling, I'm always thinking about you!

Wouldn't I get that "bowling ball between the legs" feeling, though? I'm sure my dr. will let me know if anything's changed. I'll let you know.

Aww.. that outfit is cute! Why does Mom care? He'll probably get his picture taken alot on the way home. Granted, he'll also probably be asleep or wrapped up in a blanket, but still.. it's his first foray into the big bad world. At least he'll look sharp! I think I'll dress Alison in an outfit that was given to us that is built like a onesie, but has a cute pattern and a collar - looks like of like a dress. I'm also bringing several other outfits and receiving blankets to dress her/wrap her in so DH can take them home for the furkids to smell.

I've also been letting the dogs smell all the diapers, clothes, blankets, toys, anything they want to smell. Everything we have for baby is already set up.. swing, bouncer, bed, etc. We've also been turning them on periodically. Also, I got a cd called "Preparing Fido" which has all kinds of baby noises on it that we've played a couple times. The dogs are interested, but it doesn't seem to stress them out, which is good.

And can I just say that people who sneeze LOUDLY drive me nuts? There's a lady down the hall that is having a sneezing fit right now, and does she really have to make them so loud? For crying out loud!

Hola girlies!

JAI! I'm happy to see you here. I'm sure you don't remember me, but I remember reading your story on the PG. Many prayers for a happy, healthy pregnancy and birth!

DAR - I'm feeling the same thing... Nobody's mentioned anything about this little guy dropping, they just say he's positioned really low.

As for take home outfits... Just make sure they're in something kinda cute for their pics, but to be honest... All the hospital pics make the babies look weird anyway!

I don't know what I'll dress little Ezra in... We still need to get the little guy some more clothes!

HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE!!! See ya later!

Hi ladies- I've been lurking for forEVER...still no luck in the baby making department.

But, I'm here today with a little request. I have a dear internet friend who, after trying for a baby for a heartbreaking 4 years, has finally, miraculously gotten pregnant (3 days after filling out the last adoption papers) Anyway, I'm putting together a little package to send her...what would be some fun, thoughtful stuff to include for a newly pregnant woman? What would you guys have liked? TIA!!!!!

Morning everyone!

Alli-- I knew I recognized you from somewhere, too, but I couldn't figure it out! Sorry to hear you're feeling icky. What should I hope for -- that you "dry up" soon?!

Hi Jai -- congrats on your baby to be!

Casey -- Hi -- I'm sure your next tests will be a-okay!

That's just the cutest nursery, Martha!! Your little one will be very happy there, I'm sure.

Thanks for the home birth info, Vixen. I hope it works out for me. I'm VERY close to a hospital, so I feel okay about it, assuming my pregnancy (when it happens) is normal. The hospitals here don't sound quite as strict as in the states. We don't have the same high rates of malpractice suits here, so I think that helps in terms of how many rules they set.

Anyway -- my work is piling up, so I better get to it.

BBL to read everyone's news for today.

Have a good one!

Trying to think back to then and what I couldn't live without...

- the book "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" by Vicki Iovine.
- Tylenol
- Ginger snaps (w/ real ginger)
- hard candies, particularly sour or mint
- massager (like a little wooden handheld one)
- eye mask to help with naps

Umm.. that's all I've got right now. Sorry!

Books! Send one for Dad too.

Well, this swelling problem caught up with me. I gained 10 pounds in two weeks! I am freaking out about it. The doctor looked at my legs and told me that is where most if the weight was - water retention. She said she didn't think it would get better with the heat coming up....she said to just keep drinking water and to try and pee as much as possible....and wear the compression socks. Plus, I had to take my rings off a few days ago. I'm wearing them on my chain around my neck.

And I still have six weeks to go!!!!!

Blood pressure was fine and baby's heart rate was 158. I go back in two weeks for the strep b test and a pelvic to determine what position the baby is in.

Heading back out to run some errands.....BBS!!!

Strawberry, books, definitely--this is a great one:

and there are some great products from this company: Erbaviva I really liked (I just ran out!) the stretch mark cream.

Dena, sorry about the swelling. Try some lemon in your water, that should help a little. I haven't swollen much, but my rings have been uncomfortable, and I only wear them on special occasions...but I think I'm going to slip them on a chain--what a great idea! Thanks!

Dena - try green tea. When I get bloated, it really flushes me out. Not sure if it will help with pregnancy water retention, but can't hurt!

StrawberryGirl - Some good pampering stuff would be good too. Bath stuff, etc... Goodness knows she won't have much time for that afterward! LOL!

Dena - Lemon water is good... So is taking a hot shower. Also, try some Dandelion Root. You should be able to find it at health food and/or vitamin stores. It helps me. Also, I sleep with a pillow underneath my feet too... It helps alleviate my night swelling.

Dena, I also suggest the lemon water. I have one of those little lemon juice things (you know, the ones shaped like a lemon) and I squirt some in my water every time I fill up. I know it's not 100% juice, but it's easier. My swelling has not been severe, just some puffiness in my feet, much worse at night. And my hands get a little puffy at night, but that's it. Also, keep an eye on your sodium intake. I've tried to cut back, but it's hard to do!

I know it's a pain to drink MORE water, especially when you have to pee all the time, anyways, but it helps.

Do NOT drink green tea.. a no no for pregnancy (sorry Kaillean).

Well, my appt. went well. Very short. I gained no weight in the past week.. that's a first! He did not do an internal, since a c-section is scheduled and I'm more than okay with that. As I said before, the internal exam hurt last week, so I'm more than happy to skip it.

As for the fifth disease, he said that the baby is coming so soon, by the time we did tests and got results she'd probably be here. He said it takes a while for it to develop and transfer to baby, so unless I develop symptoms, there's not much we can really do about it, anyways. If I were in early pregnancy, we'd test.
