Just thought I'd get it started this morning. Hope every one has a good weekend. I'm glad we are all here to support each other through the good and the sad. I owe lots of personals...I've been keeping up with you all!!

Today is the Atlanta Gathering...there should be about 20 of us from LCF!!! Can't wait to see some familiar faces from previous gatherings and meet some new faces. I will take my camera.

I will report back later.

Take care and hug the ones you love!!!

I'm up way to early! But it's for a good reason... I'm going to Renn Faire today... I'm so afraid it'll get hot though and walking around for a long time in the heat doesn't sound appealing... but I love the Renn Faire, so I'll chance it ~smiles~

Hi everyone...

First off...Mandy...glad you have some family around too keep you company. I was worried that you were alone on this. Also, that is sweet that DH said to you. Funny how something can totally throw you off but then you can't imagine your life without it. I have added your info to my siggy and continue to keep you, baby & DH in my thoughs and prayers! I will send you an e-mail soon...probably Monday I think I have a virus in my e-mail at home. Stay well!!

Dena ~ How exciting. I met some LCF Massachusetts people back in October, but our turnout wasn't nearly what yours was!! Anyone from the PG going to be there??

Amy ~ What is Renn Faire??

Chelsea ~ I got your package today!! You are so sweet. Tim is such a hot babe...I actually have to go on today to renew my membership to his fanclub. The picture on the card...did you take that?? It is beautiful. Purple is my favorite color. I think when I move to my new apartment, I am going to frame it and hang it in my living room. Thanks so much!!

So, I went to go visit my friend last night. She has a brand new...only used three months...crib and mattress for me. The crib isn't exactly my style, but hey, beggers can't be choosers. It is dark wood, spindle style. And the mattress is Sealy!! She also gave me a few maternity shirts. My belly is just too weird though. The way they hang, you can tell that what people call "showing" is really just a roll of fat!! One wasn't too bad, but it is all horizontal stripes, and as a child and an adult, my mother bashed into my head that heavy people shouldn't wear stripes. So, I don't think I will wear them just yet. Maybe when it starts getting warmer. I can't see going to work one day in maternity and then the next in regular cloths, so I will wait a while.

Well, I will pop back later!! Have a great weekend!

Hey Ladies! Had to take the kids to the PTO fun fair today. What a madhouse, laden with oriental trading prizes. LOL Who ever decided that a backscratcher is a good prize? Anyway...we got to get pics with the Easter bunny. I just wish this stuff wasn't on Saturdays when DH works. He works 5-6 days a week and ALWAYS saturday. It is hard to keep track of a 5yo and 3yo while pregnant and tired.

Added Mandy to my siggie. Mandy-glad you get to talk to DH and that he is commited to make a family no matter what happens. Lets keep our thoughts on keeping this little bugger in as long as possible! Rooting for your sac to repair itself!!

Hey Ladies, sorry, I'm a little messed up with personals today. I'm skipping until Monday. LOL Sorry.

Just wanted to hop on for a sec. have a WAY to busy weekend planned.

Mandy ~ PM me the addy at the hospital I have a care pkg for you!! Hope that you are on the mend and your little guy is gonna stay put, sending tons of prayers and positive thought your way.

Dena ~ Have fun at the get together, sure wish that there was a way for all of us to meet. Someone on here needs to win the lotto!! Hope you don’t mind I used your mandy sig but changed one little thing.

Amy (smiley) ~ Glad you liked you birthday present, and yes that is one of my photographs you can see more at www.choffdesigns.com

Amy (vixen) ~ I LOVE going to Ren Faire, but our doesn't come around till the summer. I will have to find a pic of me in all my "garb" I even have an extra costume so I can drag my friends along!! He is a link for those who don’t know what it is. http://www.forestfaire.com/

Becca ~ You changed your sig.... i loved the new pic that you had on yesterday... you are quite the hot mama!!

A BIG hello to everyone else I feel bad not going through and doing personals for everyone but here is what's on my plate for the weekend....

My first baby shower today at 2:00, and it is at MY house >*>*>Eeekk<*<*< did most of my cleaning last night. All I have left is the floors, and 75% is Pergo so I will have them done in 30 min. This is the all women's one with my friends and neighbors . And I just know that they will be asking about the room & wanting to see it. But all that is done is the paint and the windows. There is NO carpet, unless you count the huge roll that is in there waiting to be installed next week. And no closet doors, looks like quite a wreck!! Will be plastering a fake smile on my face and biting my tongue when everyone starts telling me that I better hurry up and get it done...LOL. My best friend who is throwing the shower lives 45 min away in San Jose so she is going to stay the night. And my crazy self thought it would be a good idea to have a garage sale Sunday, add was in the paper yesterday so no backing out now. Did I mention that it is supposed to rain ALL weekend??!! Will try to get back on this weekend to fill you in on the latest drama of the huge Shower/Luau that is on April 2nd.....

xoxo Chelsea

Ok- Just tried my breastpump for the first time... It was really weird.. Totally felt like a milk cow. I can't imagine doing this at work in the supply closet , but I'm going to have to!
Got .5 ounce in about 5 minutes, and you're supposed to pump for 15. Guess my right boob works! Now hopefully Audrey will practice with the bottle...!

I don't want to go back to work!!!! Guy & I talked about it again last night (me staying home). He sounded very open to the idea, but I decided that for now I'll keep working. I carry the insurance on all 3 of us at only 1700 per year. If Guy carries us it would be about 6 k per year. At this point I'm thinking I'd rather be home for Audrey when she's a little older.... Any thoughts? Anyone who's been on both sides of the fence?

I have been doing low carb for a short time and just found out a couple days ago that I am pregnant!!!

I am so happy!!! I have been trying for 18 years and can't believe that it finally worked and my dreams are coming true!!

I have been told that I can't eat low carb during my pregnancy but would like to keep in touch with other soon to be mom's.

Is this the right thread for that? Please someone let me know.

Thanks so much!!!

Welcome Karen and Congratulations!!!

You've come to the right place... Most of us have fallen off of the low carb wagon because of morning sickness, but I believe that some are sticking to maintenance level and doing well....

Again, congrats!!!

Oh... need to add that since my little Audrey arrived, I've still not climbed back on the wagon. My plan is to go on maintenance level.

~Karen - and CONGRATULATIONS!!! I've heard of quite a few people who were trying to get pregnant for a long time, and then went on LC and had it happen fairly quickly. There must be something to that.
This is a very friendly board to post on, I think you'll enjoy it .

Karen, and congratulations! I was on a somewhat reduced carb way of eating before joining this board (limit flour and sugar). I joined when my pregnancy sugar craving got out of control! Now I'm finding I don't have much to say on the main lobby board but I really like this pregnancy thread. There's a range of experience and some great advice and support.

I'm way behind on personals but Alli, I wanted to say thanks for posting the belly pic the other day. I think you look great! My husband wanted twins so bad, I think he is still disappointed.

Mrs. Sarah, Tanner is so unbelievably photogenic! So cute.

Martha, thanks for posting that list of what you're packing. I am starting to think about what I'm going to pack too. We only live about 5 minutes away from the hospital so I may send my husband back and forth. He'll have to check on my cat anyway.

Darlene, did the foot swelling go away?

Vixendrop, did you like the second midwife?

Not much happening here. I have an appointment on Monday and will find out for sure about my glucose screening.

I was driving out to the base yesterday and I stopped to let this kid cross the street in front of me. As he was crossing he does some kind of flirty wave, nod, smile. Ok, he looked about 16 and was wearing a Burger King uniform. I told my husband I wanted someone good to flirt with me! Oh well, guess I'll take what I can.

Hello ladies.

Congrats and welcome Karen! We are glad to have you.

Chels, hope you had a blast at your shower. I'll be sure to shoot you a PM by Monday. I appreciate your kindness.

Amy, we are using a hand-me-down crib as well. We actually had two offered to us and I liked one much better than the other. I'm excited about it. All I really need is a glider to match. And some bedding. LOL

I want to thank you ladies again for adding me to your signatures and keeping me and mine in your thoughts. I feel so grateful to have you.

No changes today. No more gushing and if I'm leaking its so slow and slight that I can't tell. The baby's heartbeat is still steady. I'm guzzling water like no one's business, I hear that it can help replinish water levels. I cannot wait to see the at risk doctor on Monday and get another u/s done. That will be the make it or break it of this whole experience. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping they'll hold me in the hospital until he reaches viability. There is no way I could do bedrest at home like I do here. There is no one to wait on me; I'd have to get up to fix food and care for the cats. Or they could always send dh home, but I hate to waste his leave when nothing is really going on.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Mandy

~Luna - Thanks for the belly pic compliment , no one really commented on it so I figured I must've looked pretty bad LOL. I can't tell you how many people have told me they had hoped for twins. I am PETRIFIED of what is to come the first months . I'll have a nearly 3 year old to tend to at the same time. UGH!

~Mandy - I'm so glad to hear your leaking has stopped and the baby has a good heartbeat! Maybe if your insurance won't pay for you to stay in the hospital they'll pay for a nurse or aid to check in with you a few times a day.

We're also getting a second hand crib for our second crib LOL. Whoever would think you'd need two cribs?!?!? We're just going to buy a new mattress for it. Hang in there!

I hope everyone has a nice first day of Spring tomorrow . We're expecting another 2-4 inches !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, girls, just doing a late night check-in. Had a much busier day than I had planned. We bought a changing table this morning at an unfinished furniture store, then DH dropped me off at my massage. It was great, then DH picked me up and we spent about two hours at Target.. so all the relief I felt from the massage was wiped out in those two hours! LOL... Oh, well. The therapist spent alot of time on my legs due to my foot swelling.

Thanks for asking, Luna.. :: checking feet :: It's gone down a bit.

DH set up the swing we bought, and it doesn't work. Bummer. He also set up the Pack n Play and rearranged our bedroom so it fits.

Alli, how sad about that mommy friend of yours. I agree with you about the homebirth. I'd rather have close access to support, just in case something goes wrong.

Chels, no offense, but are you nuts? LOL... I admit, I had energy for stuff like that up until about 2 weeks ago. Now, I have admitted defeat and know that I just don't have the fuel.

A former co-worker of my husband and her DH are here. We went to dinner earlier. It never fails when this couple comes over, they end up staying at least past midnight. I'm in the family room watching bball and playing on my laptop while they are in the office, supposedly playing with the iPod. LOL.. Think they'd notice if I went to bed? Probably not!

Dena, I hope you guys had a great day today! Were they accomodating at the restaurant?

Hey There! We had a ball at the gathering yesterday. There are a couple of pictures on the playground...there should be more coming in. Some of the the PGers surprised me with some baby gifts and a cake. That was awesome!

We have a big shower today. Yesterday we had some shots taken of us....I don't like how most of them turned out. Here are a few. I'm vain about my hair and double chin and most of the shots - both looked pretty bad!

I will be back this afternoon to catch up on personals and find out how everyone's weekend went and hear about Chelsea's shower.

I think the one with our hands is my favorite - plus he touched up my stretch marks.

Hi everyone... just a really quick post today.

I'm glad to hear things have slowed down for you Mandy... I hope the at risk doc lets you stay too... I could never do bed rest at home either!

Ali, I loved the belly pic too... I'm just really bad at commenting on pictures ~smiles~

Those pics are great GoJackets!

Luna... I absolutely LOVE the new midwife... she's FABULOUS!!! I'm going to keep my March 30th appointment with my original midwife though so to tell her I'm switching and to get a copy of my chart... then I'll start seeing the new one. I'm so excited!!! She even has a birthing tub we can rent so I can still have a water birth at home!

Anyway... yesterday was fun... Renn Faire was great... I love gawking a the men in the costumes (well, most of the costumes)! ~laughs~ we did a lot of walking... saw a glass blowing demonstration, saw Cast in Bronze, and Zilch, the Torysteller... he was funny! BUT, I think I overdid myself... today I'm horribly achey all over and I can't stop coughing... I think I inhaled too much dust yesterday... so, I'm taking it easy today... at least until 3:30 when we have to go to DH's nephew's birthday party.

Hi Ladies,

~Vixen - I'm glad you really like your new midwife. What are you going to say to your previous one? Just curious as to how you'll put it. Okay, I'm nosy LOL. Ren Faire sounds like fun, get some rest today and you'll feel better tomorrow .

~Dena - The pictures are great! I like the one of you sitting by yourself and the hand one too , but they all came out nice. I can't wait to hear how your shower goes, I love hearing about all the goodies everyone gets.

~Dar - What time did the company finally leave? I've gotten to the point now where I'd just tell them I'm outta here - Good nighte LOL.

~Chels - I can't wait to hear about your shower too .

I went to Carter's today with my mom and ds. They are having a HUGE sale, almost everything is 50% off and I had a 20% off your entire purchase coupon. If anyone wants the link for the 20% coupon let me know and I'll email it to you. I LOVE Carter's clothes, so cute and durable.
Heading for a nap soon .

I'm just basically going to say I've decided to switch providers. If she asks why (which I imagine she will) I'll let her know that although I like her as a person, I'm not willing to be subjected to OB rules by a midwife.
That's why I went to a midwife anyway... to be treated like a healthy woman going through a completely natural part of life... not to be treated like a medical patient. It's not her fault she forced to play by the (stupid) rules... although she didn't have to lie to me at the beginning ~shrugs~

Oh, and my condolences. Hopefully DH is okay? Do we need to put him on suicide watch?

Alli, I think they finally left around 11 or so. I'm not sure.. I got a bowl of ice cream for myself and got ready for bed.

I definitely don't have this "nesting" thing everyone raves about. I washed all the baby's clothes for 0-3 months and the blankets and stuff. And I attempted packing my bag. And then I had these notions of cleaning the bathrooms to get them done. But I'm too exhausted! It needs to be done, but I just can't do it.

Alli - that was an impressive picture for 23 weeks. I'm fascinated by twin (or multiples) bellies!! My girlfriend gained 80 pounds with hers, but lost 55 of it in like one or two weeks! She said she sweat constantly and that it was mostly fluid that made up the 80 pounds.

And what is up with the double chin? I can really tell a difference when I look at my pictures. I didn't realize how my weight was distributed until we had those pictures done yesterday. I am actually not that happy with them and the ones I picked to show you ladies were the best. The other 80 I thought looked worse. But, I am my own worst critic.......and I am pregnant so maybe I am asking for too much!

My boobs haven't gotten bigger, but my nipples are huge!! Not the actual nipple, but the areolas....they look like they have just spread. If this baby can't find them, I don't know what would help!!!

Darlene - you kicked butt with the gift certificate!!! I bet you had blast shopping!!!! How is the swelling? I finally broke down and got the compression socks...I think they are helping. I've heard that nesting thing can kick in as soon as 48 hours before the baby gets here! Can you imagine? I bet you will get the cleaning bug.

Meg - I'm always happy when "there is nothing to report", that means that this pregnancy is going well for you and I am so happy!!!! Love "Muriel"!!!

Nyanchan - I love the new avi!!! Not sure what to say about your decision. It's a personal choice. We are taking a 40% hit on our annual salary since I won't be going back to work. We agreed before we got pregnant that I would stay home. I may go back and do something part time. Personally, I think if you can afford it and you don't need the stimulation of work that $4300 would be worth priceless moments at home. I don't want to start a debate about what is better. I don't favor one way over the other, and both have their advantages and disadvantages.....but you said you want to be home....well, if you want to...can you afford the difference?

Martha - my cravings have been ranch dressing on ANYTHING and Wendy's cheeseburgers.....oh and pistachio ice cream.....nice healthy arrangement, eh? Are you feeling any different now that you are getting closer?

Vixen - love the name!!

Heather - you have to check in as often as possible or I am going to think you are having the baby!!!

Welcome Karen!!

Hey Wendy, Luna and Louise....I know I am missing others.

Chelsea - Girl, where did you go? We want to hear about your shower!! You must be recouping!!!

We had a nice shower today. My SIL and DH's cousin threw the shower for me. They know we are using bees and daisies so they used it as a theme for the shower. Made bumble bee cookies, had bumble bee candy...etc. We play baby bingo and they passed around and adivce book for everyone to add to....that was cool!

We got our stroller, the Leap Frog Learning Bouncy Seat thingy, lots of blankets and clothes, diapers and wipes, cash, toys, the 4-n-1 baby bath tub, we also got a baby wipe warmer.....I never registered for one.....didn't think it was necessary....does anyone have one and what do they think about it?

DH's cousin owns a wholesale business that custom paints heirloom quality furniture.....she didn't have it finished, but she iss painting a child's table and two little chairs to match the theme of the room. We can't wait to see that!

Last night at the gathering we got toys, clothes, diapers and gift certificates. It was so sweet that they surprised me with stuff. The private room we rented was nice. We avoided the noise from the crowd outside. I recommend any of you who live close to each other to try to get together if you can....it is so much fun meeting people that you have chatted and bonded with.

I know I am missing some others.....will pop back in for more later!

Take care!

Hey Mandy!!! We are still thinking about you. Update us when you can!!

GoJ, I think those are all great pictures! I honestly do not see a double chin and you have totally enviable hair. I am jealous to see you still have an 'innie" belly button!
