Dena ~ You are so supportive and encouraging to everyone... we are SO lucky to have you around!!

Dar ~ Love the room & the way you arranged the pictures. the kitty box made me laugh because my nephew was 1 1/2 and decided if that’s where the kitty went then he should too...LOL Thanks for letting me know about the post by posting on it. I was oblivious that there was another because I was waiting for an e-mail letting me know there was a post.... would have missed Amy's BIG news if it weren't for you. Not to mention feeling like a tread killer!!

Emily ~ Congrats on making it to the top of the list (sure hope I do!)

Amy (smiley) ~ Still smiling that you got your girl, i swear if i where having a girl i would be broke there are SO many cute things out there. Thanks for posting on the "other" thread" lol. Your pkg went out tonight let me know when you get it!!

Morning Mommies!

Chels, sorry I didn't see your thread yesterday either! How are you? Has your tummy popped out yet?

Dierdre, thanks fot the BF link. Good info. I'm so grateful that I'll be able to stay home with Baby!

Vixen, sorry about your crappy day. I have those all the time! That's a bummer about the 3 hour test. Midwives here are quite different from the typical midwife in the US. From what I can tell, midwives in the US focus on the woman. Here they focus on the baby...and there are prenatal midwives and labor/delivery midwifes--never the two shall meet or cross! Mine has harassed me about my weight a bit, but never actually made me get on a scale. I've gained about 21 lbs (in week 37) but I gained about 30 back due to the stress of the move/m/c's before this pregnancy. I'm actually pretty miserable about my weight, and don't want to gain any more (m/w is saying don't gain anymore) Hope it goes well with the new midwife.

Meg, good news that all is well with your u/s. Give your pooch a hug!

Mandy, sorry about the leakage yesterday. What did the doctors say? Is that Mothering Magazine part of Mothering.commune? I went there once, and didn't like it at all. The women all seem to be preachy and know-it-alls. But, it made me appreciate this group so much more. I am so lucky to have found such a great group of women!

Heather, I, too, love the bandana border, very cool! How are you feeling? **labor vibes**

Dar, sorry to hear about the c-section. The Bradley book mentions some statistics on c-sections done for small/undersized pelvis. I'll look it up for you, but as I recall, very few women actually have this problem(<2%), but it accounts for something like 15% of c-sections. Maybe you want to get a 2nd opinion? On the other hand, you get to skip the last few miserable weeks, and you keep yourself intact... *thinking about you*

LittleMagpie, congrats! and welcome to the group I added you to the list, and we'll be happy to update your due date when you get a better idea.

Shelly, funny story about the slippers!

Smiley, YEAH! A girl, so happy you got your wish!!

Luna, sorry to hear about your water heater.

Kaillean, I think, like Dar said, morning urine is the most concentrated--hence, you have the best read. **baby vibes**

Kim, good to hear from you!

Hi Ali!

Not much new here today. It snowed *again*!! but now it's melting, at least. We still have almost a foot on the ground, though. I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by! I'm going to try to pack, or at least start, my bag for the hospital today. I'm planning to take a huge one, because I want to be pampered, dammit! And I'm going to make sure I am!!

Chels, sorry about your bad day yesterday--hope today is better! I didn't even make it into a sandwich, just a bite of cheese and a spoonful of jam! And, now, I want it again! LOL

What's been everyones biggest craving(s)? Mine has definitely been cheese--and melted, yum! Lots of fondue & homemade mac 'n cheese.

Checking in early to see if Mandy had posted.

Hi Martha and Chelsea. I have to say, cheese and jam?!
I don't crave one single food, just anything sweet! Candy, cookies, doughnuts, fruit (good I guess), heck I'll take a spoon and bag of sugar!

Becca, I have had the pubic bone pain but I really only notice it when I first get up from bed or after sitting for awhile.

Oh, and we now have a new water heater. We bought this house a year and half ago and I remembered the previous owner telling us how the water heater had sprung a leak on them. I *thought* they bought a new one but my husband tells me they just repaired it. So it was 11 years old (no more warranty). Well, this new one has a 6 year warranty and we will be out of here in another year and a half!

I'll check back later. Hi to everyone else!

Oh Happy Day!! Sara, Sara bo bara, finana fana fo fara...!!!

So I got my Sara Elizabeth!! Still on cloud 9!! DH is still a little bummed, but overall fine.

Chelsea ~ Woo, hoo...my package is on it's way!! Can't wait to see what you sent! Tim is coming to MA in September, but at a town that is way on the other side of the state. With a newborn, I don't know if I will be able to go. I am hoping he goes to CT, which is actually closer! Hope you get some rest...

Martha ~ Uhhh...yeah, you probably should start packing. LOL Snow is finally melting here to...I think I see some grass!!

Kaillean ~ You will get the hang of charting. The first month makes no sense at all and then you start to notice the pattern ususally. Do you have the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"? It helped a lot...the girls here told me about it.

Mandy ~ Waiting for news and crossing my fingers AND toes!!

Luna ~ Sorry you had to break down and buy a new water heater. That is part of the reason I still rent. If something like that were to break, I wouldn't have the money to fix it.

Hi to everyone else!!

Good Morning Ladies,

~Luna - It stinks you had to buy a new water heater but at least you won't have to worry about it for years!

~Martha - I'm SOOOO sick of snow! Luckily it's been melting the past two days but we still have about 7-8 inches on the ground. What are you packing in your bag? I made sure to get up and shower, do my hair and make-up ASAP every morning. The nurses said they were totally impressed, that they don't see many moms do that after a birth let alone a c/s.

~Ames - where are you getting your bras? Our Motherhood doesn't carry them large enough.

Hi Chels!

~Mandy - Thinking of you!!

I am feeling much better today. Yesterday we drove to Boston and back (3 hours each way). I didn't even realize how hard it was on me and the babies until I got home. My ankles and boobs were totally swollen. The babies were all squished up, poor things.
TMI -I'm having such boob problems . When I was pregnant with ds I went from a 36C up to a 44G. This time it's even worse. I'm currently wearing a 42DDD and the cup size is getting too small. They swell up so bad that they leak water, not out of the nipple like milk but on the insides, in the cleavage area. None of the doctors have any idea of what I could do . The normal route would be to take some Lasix to get rid of the water but you can't take that while pregnant. It took me nearly two years after ds was born to get back down to a 36D, never made it to C. I am also planning a reduction once the twins are done nursing.
Anyway, here's a picture from yesterday before our trip. I can't believe I'm posting a belly shot!!! . And to think I was this big at the end of my first pregnancy. What a difference and extra baby makes LOL.

Alli ~notice the big boobies?!?!? and OMG! My double chin is back

~Amy - on your little girl .

I was thinking, you're about 2 or so hours away(I think). Maybe a few months after the babies are born we could meet somewhere half way. OR if you're really adventurous you could make the ride out here .

Just checking in to see if Mandy posted. Hoping and praying for you and your kiddo.

Amy~ Congrats, girls are great fun.

Alli~ Can Motherhood order the size bra you need? I'm at the top end of what they carry in the store and I think I remember the lady saying they could order other sizes?

Thanks, Martha. As I said, DH often would complain during sex about my size.. which I always thought was a little odd. I mean, what man actually complains about his woman being tight?! But, some time ago I talked to my ob/gyn about it.. this was way back before DH was diagnosed with ED and low testosterone and I was talking to my dr. about our sex problems. He told me back then that, yes, I was tight down there. I never thought it would be an issue as far as delivering a baby.. I figured it was a "lack of use" issue! Ok, so I'm cracking myself up over here, hoping this isn't TMI! Anyways, my dr. said yesterday that, no, it's not the tissue down there or lack of stretching, it's because my pelvis is small and making things cramped. On the upside, that probably means that if i were to deliver vaginally, things would easily go close to how they were before. Unfortunately, the odds of having a good vaginal birth are against me.

How she comes into the world is irrelevant as long as we are both healthy. I know that. That's the goal and the logical part of me agrees with that. It's the emotional side I'm trying to calm down. I was always open minded about a c-section if it was necessary. I just thought that I'd labor first before that determination was made. Perhaps this way, I can be more emotionally prepared for it. It's just getting over the initial shock. I think back to the girls here who (if I remember right) have had emergency c-sections after hours of labor... Suz, Kelley, Pauline, Sarah, and now Jenn (and others I may be forgetting). I imagine they felt alot worse than I do.

Vixendrop- Makes sense...she shouldn't have said you didn't have to have the test if she was going to change the rules. AND...still wouldn't compromise with the 1 hr. I hope that the new midwife is exactly what you are looking for. Is DH nervous?

Kim-Glad you talked to Dr. about the formula. You may need to find nipples for the bottles that can accomodate the cereal. They make them with an X opening rather than a hole. Soy is actually less stinky in a diaper IMO. That is what my new son will take if I cannot BF.

Chels-My inside out thing happens back there too from baby #1 and pushing for 3 hrs. Sucks doesn't it! I looked last night and it actually makes the whole area protrude!

Mandy-Hope everything is okay. I missed you last night but I have that sometimes too when I get up out of bed or if I've been sitting alot.

Dar-

I would have much rather have had a planned c-section. I went through excruciating labor for 20 hours, only to be told that I had to have a c-section. I wasn't able to prepare.... although my mother cried enough for the both of us!

In the end, all that does matter is that you have a healthy baby and that you're OK too!

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all doing well. I was on this board a while ago while my husband and I were TTC. Well, I did get pregnant, but unfortunately we lost the baby ... she was born an angel at 19 weeks. It's the most horrible pain any parent can go through, but I wanted to wish all the mommies and mommies-to-be much love and good health with their own pregnancies and children.

Now I want to lose these 20 lbs I gained over 5 months....I still kind of look pregnant and it's really hard because two (kind and well-meaning) strangers have recently asked me how far along I am. I feel as though losing the pregnancy weight will help me emotionally move on. I don't know if this makes sense...I hope so.

I wish you all the best.

Take care,
Sacha
