Good morning ladies. I hope I updated everyone correctly. I think Jenn has probably had her baby, but I wanted to wait until she got back to let us know to put her in the "birthed" column.

This is the last week before spring break. I don't know who will be more excited, me or the kids!

I'll BBL.

Good morning, ladies! Happy Monday...

A few personals to start:

Dena, glad you got some sleep! Didn't you have a shower this weekend?

Amy, I'm so sorry to hear that you have to give up Ziggy. At least you had a good contingency plan and he'll be in a good place.

Mandy, I wish I had a spring break! DH is break this week, and I'm hoping that, in addition to getting his projects done of course, he can do a little work around the house. There's still so much to do.

Kim, glad to hear Megan is feeling better!

Shandril, those pics are so wonderful!

Well, had a busy weekend myself. On Saturday, I cleaned a little bit, then we went to Target and got a new bookshelf and some new lamps, so our living room is coming together.

That night, I had my shower. It was fun. It was at a tea house, so we had tea fare for dinner, and it was delicious! We played a couple of games, and then opened gifts. I got a few things off of my registry.. bouncer, hamper, mobile, blankets, Diaper Genie, wipe warmer. And then things that weren't on there, like clothes. One of my co-workers hand-made a picture album for me! My MIL got us a web cam. Turns out they also bought one for themselves. I just thought it was cute and funny, too.

DH also bought me a gift... an iPod Photo. We have been arguing back and forth for a couple months about me getting a cheap cd player so I could have some music to listen to while labor if I needed it. Music really calms me down, it always has been a constant companion in my life. He argued we should look at mp3 players, I argued they were too expensive, just get me something cheap since I only need it for labor. He argued we should get something nice so we can use it for other things in the future.. walks, lawn work, bike rides, etc. Blah blah blah... Anyways, he got it for me for the shower. It was pretty funny... he wrote this silly note with it, not mushy or anything, and I read it out loud. I started to get teary eyed while reading it. I felt so silly!

Oh, the only thing I thought was kind of weird was that none of my relatives (except Mom and MIL) sent any gifts for the shower. They were all invited, I thought that I'd perhaps at least get a card? I guess I was just a little surprised by that.

Yesterday, we had our prepared childbirth class. I have to say that I do feel alot more ready than I did two days ago. Not that the house is anywhere near ready, I'm not packed, baby's not ready.. but at least I know what to expect. It was a tiring day... uncomfortable seats and alot of information to take in. But it was informative.

They showed us several videos of births, totally unedited, of course. The funny thing was that, even for as graphic as the video was, DH leans over to me after one in particular and says, "I'm so going to cry when she's born.. I almost cried at that!"

Anyways, that was my weekend. I'm tired today, but I'm getting used to that, I think. BBL!

Hi everone...Happy Monday!! *blech* Why does the weekend fly by so fast???

Mandy ~ Oh, how I wish I had a spring break... I always think about how we all thought we had it so rough when we were in school - when in reality, we had it so easy. Also, I went to school for Early Childhood Education and decided not to finish...all I got was my certificate. I kick myself now!! It is perfect for when you have school aged children. Vacations and summers off...*sigh*

Dena ~ I am so glad you finally got some rest. I didn't sleep much this weekend because of worrying about the apartment and Ziggy. Hopefully after the dreaded phone call is made to my current landlord, I can stop worrying so much.

Dar ~ Oh that is so sweet what your DH said about him crying when the baby is born. Glad you had a good babyshower. I don't know about those wiper warmers...do you think that will get the baby used to warm wipes and God forbid you use a "cold" one, the world will end?? LOL

Know what I thought of yesterday...I remembered that in my "new bedroom" there is two small windows right next to each other, so it sort of looks like one oversized window. I don't know if you catch my drift...but my point is, I don't know if an AC will fit in the window!! I sure hope it does...otherwise this is going to be a rough summer - for me AND DH and DB!! Can you imagine an 7-9 month pregnant woman in the dead of summer with no AC!?!? The horror!!

One last note...everytime Ziggy looks at me with his sad little eyes, it breaks my heart. I know he will be okay, it's just that I love him so much. It is for the best though. I just keep thinking that I only have two weeks left with him.

Well, I will pop back later.

Hoping to hear form Jenn soon!!

Good morning!

Glad you got some sleep Dena!

Mandy-My 12 yo brothers' Spring break is next week too....but he's spending it here...at my house. I'm not looking forward to it. I love em to death, but he's going through that awkward stage right now.

Dar-Sounds like you made out pretty good at your shower. I love my wipe warmer BTW. We didn't get one until DD was 7 months old and She loved it, now this one will get to have warm wipes from day one! About family not sending a gift yet: what happened to me is that after I sent out the birth announcements, they all sent a congratulations card with money in it, or mailed a gift.

Very cute pictures Shandrill!

Amy-If I remember, ThininMex didn't have AC last summer and she went past due.....agh that would suck. Hopefully it will work out.

I got the baby's room all put together this weekend!!!! Now I just need to get all his clothes and blankets washed and I'll be ready! We also did a lot of things around the house, well DH did anyways- we bought 3 big trees and got them planted in the back yard. He also put on a storm door for the front door, so now I can open it and let in extra light to the living room, now maybe my plants will start growing!

I need to get in the shower, I'll check back later.

good morning ladies!

I'm wiped out! My daughters 3rd Bday party was yesterday so I had company from noon until 7pm and then DH and I got in a big fight after so I'm so tired. My daughter had so much fun and entertained everyone.

Funny about the cleaning Saturday. I did it all and now have to do it all again and do not have the energy!!

Kim-so glad the formula worked. Just check with her Dr. and let them know about the change just in case. Keeping her upright is the best too.

Dena-glad you go some sleep. If the claritin helps that is great. Benedryl would be good too and it comes in cheap generics. It will knock you out, take care of the allergies too. I had to take that at night the last few weeks of my last preg. due to the PUPPP rash I had. I haven't slept more than 4 hrs at a time since the year 2001!! And that was only for a few months. LOL

Mandy-I bet those kids are gonna be wired! Just waiting for the week to end!

Dar-glad you had a great shower. I would think your family that couldn't come will either bring/send gifts when the baby is born or maybe not. I found alot of people skip shower gifts if they can't come and just ignore or wait until baby is born (weddings too)

SmileyAmy-Hope the phone call goes well. Don't worry about the landlords. The lead paint thing really should be dealt with anyway and if you can get a better deal elsewhere. Go for it.

See ya'll later!

Morning everyone!

Amy- Hope that you'll be able to have some type of cool air in your new place... During the hurricane last summer we didn't have power for 4 days, and I was miserable! I'm sad that you have to give up your puppy, but glad that your Mom is able to care for him.

Dar- That's what happened to me too... My DH's family all sent presents after the baby was born. I now need a few hours to write thank you notes!

Audrey is doing really well. She's over 9 pounds now and nurses every 2-2.5 hours. I think she's growing and needing more food! I felt like Elsie the Cow last night! She laughed in her sleep yesterday, it was so cute. She only did it once so far, but hopefully she'll do it again soon.

TO ALL THE SECOND TRIMESTER MOMMIES- My MIL went crazy making clothes for me me... I now have a plethora of maternity clothes that I don't need anymore! I live in Florida, so all are lighter in weight. There are dresses, pants, tops and a couple of "dress up" outfits. Some of them I never wore or only wore once. Sizing ranges from 1X up to approximately a 22ish. My weight started at 220 and ended up at 253, just to give you a reference. PM me if you want pictures! I'm not asking anything for them and I'll even pay the postage to get them to you! I just want these clothes to go to someone that I know, since my MIL made them with so much love....

Ok, thanks guys on the note about gifts from family. I guess I should make a few more thank you notes just so I have them ready to go when the time comes. I had started with a pretty simple design that I LOVE, but turned out to be more time consuming than I realized. So, I have about 10 of those fancy ones I'll give to those that attended my shower. I came up with a much easier, simpler design I'll use to make the rest. It took me about 10 minutes to make one card the other way.. Now I can make about 10 in 10 minutes!

Hmm... that leads to the next dilemma.. make or buy announcements? Eek!

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is well...

We had kinda a rough weekend. On Friday afternoon we took one of our dogs to the canine cardiologist (who knew they existed?!) and found out that he has some pretty severe heart disease going on. The good news is that we found out about it before he went into congestive heart failure and we can do some heavy duty drug therapy that may help prolong his life a bit, but the vet said he's maybe got 6 months to a year to live. I was pretty devastated Friday night and I'm still very sad about it, but I've come to realize the best we can do is appreciate the time we have left with him and know that he's had a very good life. He's almost 6, the vet said this is a genetic problem common in giant breeds. Overall he's acting totally normal and I'm very thankful we took him in to get his eye looked at or we wouldn't have had any clue whatsoever. So, everyone give your furbabies a hug, and don't miss those checkups.

Then last night DH and I had a nasty fight about crib bumpers. Yes, you heard me right, crib bumpers. The story is that some friends gave us their crib and changing table which was very kind of them. It's in great condition, it's just not a style I ever would have picked myself... it's very modern. They also gave us their crib bumpers and crib skirt which was also very nice of them, but they are old and musty from being in their basement and I don't like the design of them at all. So, I was surfing online looking at some new ones and I told DH I was going to register for a new bumper & skirt. He completely blew up saying that we weren't going to get a new one when we have a perfectly good one, blah blah blah. OK, hello, someone tell this guy to pick his battles when he's dealing with a pregnant woman! To make a long story short, I won out in the end, but it wasn't pretty.

Looks like it's going to be another crazy week here at work. At least I get to take Wednesday morning off for my sonogram and then work from home in the afternoon. I'll try to stop in more frequently.

Hi all!

I've been lurking, just haven't had the time to sit down and put any coherant thoughts into a post.

Pregnancy wise doing well here. I'm in week 25 so not much going on. Just getting bigger everyday.

Dar, good question about the annoucnements. They are a big deal around here and I spend much more time than I should worrying about them. With my first I went to a fancy stationer and ordered the cards. They were beautiful, but way too expensive. I usually order 150 or so (thats the number on our Christmas card list) so it can get pricey. With my other two I ordered off the internet which was much more reasonable and they will send you the enveopes ahead of time. For my third I used a design by Blue Mug and it was perfect for a third - the card said "Rub a Dub Dub, another boy for our tub" and had three little kids peeking out of a tub, two bigger ones and a baby.

I've already found a different vendor who will do something similar for boy#4 - they do a mock up and e-mail you a proof and then print them. I thought about doing one on my computer but we need so many I thought it would be easier just to have someone handle them.

I have another question. For those of you that are buying new baby gear - Anyone getting a travel system (carseat stroller combo) and if so which one? They didn't have these when I had my first so I got one with the second and used it with two and three. After that I threw it away because it was really dirty and worn out. I'd like to get a new one but don't really want to spend tons of money since this is the last baby for us. They are on sale right now at Toys R Us so I thought it might be a good idea to go ahead and get it. Any thoughts?

Yeah! More pictures! Tanner is so cute!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Kim -- so glad to hear your little one is doing better. I hope things continue to improve.

Martha -- I love your nursery pictures! What a perfect little room for a baby.

I would love to see more of everyone's nursery pictures. When and if the time comes, our baby would have to bunk in with us, as I use our second bedroom for my office. I like looking at pics to get ideas of what I could do with my "nursery corner".

Belated Happy Birthday to Amy, and congrats on the new place. Don't worry, your doggy will forgive you!

Hi to everyone else. I have read all your news but have nothing momentous to say!

So DH and I are in the midst of ATTEMPT #1! Please send us your baby-making vibes! I used an OPK for the first time today, and it was negative. So the ovulation watch continues. No rise in temp either. On with the babydancing!!

BBL!

Wahoo! Sending baby vibes your way! Remember, your temp will rise AFTER you ovulate. So, if you BD and your temp rises the next day or two, you timed it well. That's the down side to tracking temps. The upside is that you know when you timed it right. And if your temp stays up (I think for something like 17-18 days), you're probably pg! Good luck!

Sarah, great pics! What high chair is that? Is that Eddie Bauer?

Yeah, DH loved it, but we compromised.

Speaking of DH, he's spending his first day of spring break playing with MY new iPod. Ok, it's really OURS, but still....

Back to the nursing bra question. Apparently, they don't make nursing bras in A. At least, Penney's didn't have any, and I'm looking at Motherhood online (the store was all the way at the other end of the mall, so I didn't feel like trekking down there during lunch), and the smallest they have are B's.

I was literally swimming in the B's. I could have put a whole fist in there to fill it. I can't talk myself into that. I did buy a sports bra at Target that was a B. It fits, but only because of the spandex. How frustrating! I give up!

Sarah-Tanner is so beautiful! Seeing the way you doll him up makes me feel better about having a boy. I always think of girls as cute and boys as dirty and muddy. I have no idea why! LOL

Dar-Don't give up, I'm sure you'll find something. You may be wishing you bought that B after your milk comes in. How sweet of your dh to buy you an iPod. You'll be using it during labor before you know it. Your name is getting awfully close to the top of the list!

Anyone seen Martha today?

Rooney-I have registered for a carseat/stroller combo at target. I couldn't tell you much about it right now except it was a Graco Laxford edition and had a cute color scheme, which is why I picked it. It is $159.99 for the combo. I've heard great things about them, so hopefully some of my family will get together and spring for it. If not, I'll just go buy it myself.

My kids have been so wild today. I let someone go to the bathroom during class and when he came back he said someone had put pubic hair all over the sink and floor. Needless to say, it was tough to get through a lesson on India's independence when all I heard was pube jokes for an hour. *sigh* And its only going to get worse all week! At least I get all next week to recoup, and luckilly I'll be recouping in DC!

I'll check in again later.

LOL, Mandy, clearly you didn't know many girls like me when you were young. I was such a tomboy!

I'm still going to check out Motherhood's store at the mall. They may have some that are more stretchy and aren't 'sized'.

I found out from my Mom that she'll be here 4/9 to 4/21.. so if I go early, she won't be here for the birth but she'll be here for baby and me. And if I don't go early, she'll be here for the birth because I'll be induced while she's here. Anyways, she can help me shop for a bra if I don't find one before then. I was afraid my milk would come in, and I'd have no way to go shopping for one.

I was also wondering where Martha is.. is she snowed in again?

Hoping Jenn gets home soon with her lil' one!

Hello ladies!

Dena--Glad to hear that you got some rest!

Dar--You'll use your ipod a lot. I got one for Christmas. I wear it while I am cleaning house. DH has one too and we like to listen to different music, so he listens to his music and I listen to mine. Sorry you can't find bras. Please let us (me) know if you do find anything. I am an A too.

Amy--I am so sorry that you have to give your dog up. At least your Mom can take him.

Heather--Sounds like you were very productive this weekend. I wish I would have been . I did work on some craft projects, but the house didn't get any cleaner.

Sarah--Tanner is so cute. I can't believe how much he has changed since the last pics I saw of him. He sure if growin up quickly!

Hello to everyone else!

Sophia is out of the hospital, and is doing better. She's still pretty sick, but should be fine in another week or so. Thanks so much for all of your kind thoughts and prayers.

Nothing new with me. We leave for vacation bright and early Saturday morning. With my luck, TOM will show up then. I was suppose to have TOM last week, but didn't. I always miss at least one month when I go off the pill, so I wasn't surprised. Assuming TOM does not come, I'll test on 4/15/05. Wow. That seems like a long way off. I guess that DH and I will just have to do a lot of BDing between now and then and keep our fingers crossed.

Sarah, Tanner is so precious!!!

Amy, when is your next u/s? I'm sorry you have to get rid of your dog, but it sounds like he's going to a great place he loves ~smiles~

Rooney, when I had DD I LOVED my travel system... I can't imagine NOT having one... she gained weight slowly too so we got a lot of use out of the carseat. I'm registered for one again this time.
This one

We checked out tons of them, and this was the best we found... even in the higher price range (I refused to look at anything over $250 though since I think spending more than that is just silly... at least, for us it is.

Unfortunatley it's out of stock online right now so it doesn't show how much it is... but I think it was only $169... it's still at our local Babies R Us though so I'm hoping a few people will go in together and get it for us... but if not, my mom has said she'll buy it for me.

And now......

New name poll

I love the name Kayden... I really do... but I just can't bring myself to use it with our last name ~sighs~

So, here a poll about a few other names that Richard hasn't said no too yet ~laughs~

I was literally swimming in the B's. I could have put a whole fist in there to fill it. I can't talk myself into that. I did buy a sports bra at Target that was a B. It fits, but only because of the spandex. How frustrating! I give up!
LOL! Be thankful for your small size. I am now lugging around a size 44I!!! And prepregnancy I was 36C.

These pictures from last weekend sure make me look fat because of my chest. Honestly, I have a waist in there somewhere!

Here's me, daddy and baby!

This is my mom with us. My dad was sick, so he wouldn't come near the baby...even for pictures.

This was taken after he pee'd all over the changing table and curtain, LOL! A look saying: "I'm sorry mommy"
