Louise, I'll second Dar on the Fertility Monitor. I used the same one--I actually tested to watch my cycle for about 8 months before even TTC. It really made me feel confident--I was worried about my age. We were preggie the first try! And, other friends have had the same experiences--TTC for months then the first time with the monitor, success.

Dena, no nipples peeling here...probably just another thing for me to look forward to, though!

I've had a totally frustrating morning! Last night the internet stopped working--we have a wireless broadband connection, and I suddenly saw a strange profile listed in there. Hubby figures out it is the neighbour and calls him. Neighbour says, "I'm really bad with computers, come on over if you want to fix it." WTH kind of response is that?! So, I shut everything down and wait until morning. Same deal this morning. So I call tech support--mind you local calls here are charged by the minute too. I basically spent 4 hours on the phone trying to rectify the situation...and must have run up and down the stairs 25 times! But, now at least we have an encrypted connection. I can still see "Boris the idiot neighbour" in there, but I guess there is nothing I can do about it.

This is the same guy who can't control his cat, which is continually living in our garage and pooping in my flower beds, and can't be bothered to clean up his yard! Typical Swede...sorry for the rant.

I hope everyone else is doing better. I'm trying to eat better today...I should probably spend some hours relaxing in the tub after the stress of this morning, though

Mornin' ladies!

No complaining today, I promise.

I took some Tylenol PM last night, so I had a better night's sleep than I have the past few days. Still smarting a bit, but I'll live. And still having BH, but I'll live.

My friend Dani and my DH are convinced this baby will come earlier than her due date, since I've been so uncomfortable and having so many BH contrax. Dani had no complaints at all, except swelling, and she had to be induced at 41 weeks because the baby was not budging and he was getting too big.

I know that's no indication, but it would be nice at this point, I think.

My breastfeeding class is tonight, and I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Dena, I've always had problem skin.. sensitive, dry, and eczema. So, peeling nipples is nothing new for me. However, I have been leaking a little bit.. assuming it's colostrum. And as VixenAmy said, I will find dried colostrum. I can tell it's not skin.

Ok, so when packing "The bag", do I want to pack my old slippers, or the new furry ones Rob got me? I'm just worried about bringing the new ones and getting them icky. I'm planning to head to Target to get some cheap undies and pj's for during my hospital stay.

Also, I think I need to break down and get some new bras. My ribs are spreading and my fav bras are getting tight. Are nursing bras alot more expensive than regular? Should I just get regular? I'm worried that, if I get a nursing one now, will it fit later if it fits now? Or do I need to wait until after milk comes in to see what size I need? I'm so confused!

What the heck is up with this sleeping problem? It's almost like sleep apnea. I'm not uncomfortable....I can find many positions to sleep in, but my throat gets so dry that it almost seals up...then I can't breathe without drinking some water. It scares the cr@p outta' me every time. Thus, I'm not sleeping at night...I might get three hours, then I am up every hour until it is time to get ready for work....then I have my hour drive into work......8 - 9 hours of work and my hour drive home.....I'm freagin' tired.

I just hate being tired, because it makes me fuzzy, and I don't like driving when I'm fuzzy!

Dar-

Arnold Palmer provided me with disposable underwear and I wore those for a few days (I'm a big girl, and they fit)... I also had slippers that I didn't care about with me. Good thing, because the lochia (bleeding) was really heavy and I bleed all over the gown, my slippers and the floor. Yeah, I know TMI and gross but it happened. I just wore the gown the provided, it was a cute pink nursing one.

As for the bras, I got 2 to start with both from MotherHood Maternity. One is a sleep bra.. No hooks and it crosses in the front for easy nursing at night. It was about $11.00. The nursing bra was $16.00 and is the most comfortable bra I've ever worn! I was a small C when I tried the bras, so felt comfortable just getting the C cup. So far so good!

I second this suggestion. They are affordable and have a lot of styles and sizes. I'm actually wearing mine for the first time today.

Dena, I have no idea how to help on that sleeping issue! My throat gets dry but not that dry! I took some Tylenol PM last night to help me sleep. I slept, but still snored and had to get up every so often to pee.

I don't know if it would do any good to ask your dr. Perhaps getting a non-medicated nasal spray to coat your throat and nasal passages before bed? I used to use those when we lived up north.

At one point last night, Rob nudged me to move me because I was snoring. I'm pretty much a light sleeper so I instantly woke up. He told me I was scaring the puppy, because she wanted to know "why her mommy sounded like a bear".

I was glad he woke me because I was having a really boring dream about doing taxes. Ugh... (I did a rough run through of our taxes last night, and it looks like we'll only owe about $3500.. that's $1000 less than last year! Woo!) At least after that I had a really GOOD

Shelly ruined things for me! I dreamed last night I was laying in the hospital bed and it was dark, I was by myself....had some contractions....and then out popped this nine pound baby boy....not too much pain..happened very quickly....and I pushed the button for the nurse to show her what I had done.

Now I am disillusioned for good. ::jealous::

OMG, Dena, you're not the only one.. I had panic attacks all that evening that my water was going to break and a baby would pop out then and there.

And the fact I was in so much pain didn't help matters.

Good morning, Ladies!

I read about Shelly's delivery yesterday too and have been thinking about it ever since. Wow, that sounds like a dream delivery to me! I would love to go "natural" if at all possible. Unfortunately, I am probably too much of a wimp.

I am in that stage where I am wondering if I am still pregnant because I am starting to feel better, less nauseous, etc. and am not quite showing yet. I am anxious for my next doctor's visit (March 15) to hopefully see the little one again.

Good info on the maternity/nursing bras. I was wondering that myself and I probably need to buy some new ones. Mine are a bit tight! I wish I were a C or even an A. I started as a D and I think I am a DD now. Ouch! They hurt!

Dena--I'm just barely started down the pregnancy road, and my nipples are already peeling. It's pretty normal, from what I've been told. Whenever part of your body is expanding, it can dry your skin out and cause the skin to flake and peel. Lots of women experience the same thing as their stomachs expand.

I guess so. I meet the qualifications, for sure... I was actually just holding off until after my ultrasound next week so that I'd have an idea of how far along I am.

Honestly, I feel crappy. I'm so tired, I'm sleeping 9-10 hours a night, and I'm still falling asleep at work. I'm nauseated constantly. I've got these funny little cramps all the time. And even though I'm WAY too early to be showing, I swear I am. There's this funny little pooch in my tummy that wasn't there before. Oh, and I'm freaking HOT.

Hello to Tek, Becca, Karin, Ames, Kaillean, Grace, Vixen and anyone else I may have missed!!

I haven't posted because I told myself that I would stay off the net until my taxes where done. But I got to a point where I was stressing out and needed a break, hopefully I will be done with them tonight. Want to get them filed cause the $$ would be nice. Not sure if I told you guys but at my 3D u/s, the first one where little man was sleeping he was weighing in at 3lbs 2 oz (29 weeks) the estimated due date was the 9th but because I know my cycle I am sticking with the the 15th. Although almost daily David tells him that he needs to be hear no later than the 5th. HE is so dreading working Cinco de Mayo because thing tend to go crazy in the ghetto and he has never worked anything less than an 18 hr day. Guess I could always "fake" it!! I am SO done with watching Megan but cant tell her mom that as I know that I am the only option that the have for childcare. I am just so worn out by the end of the day that I am NOT getting anything done that I need to do. Not sure what to do. Darlene and others, I wanted to point out if you buy the sleep bra from Motherhood you can get the ones that don't have cup sizes. They just come Small, Med., Large...etc. They have stretchy cups.

GoJackets, I wish I had some advice. You do need your rest! Hmm...Quit your job?

Dar~ on packing for the hospital....take old stuff, but only use it if you have to. My hospital provided pads, underwear and gowns. I took full advantage of all of their stuff and I think you should to.

On bras....I would go try some on. I bought one early so I would have it in the house when I got home from the hospital. When I tried it on it was a little big in the cup but fit around the ribs. It was a perfect fit when my milk came in. Your milk shouldn't come fully in in the hospital and you shouldn't really leak either, so I would suggest just taking something comfortable. I wore sports bras for the support (not overly tight ones) and just pulled them up to breastfeed. It wasn't until day 4 or 5 did I notice milk coming in strong and the other breast leaking when I fed off of one. At that point I started wearing my nursing bra and some pads. I decided then that I liked what I had bought and I went and got a few more.

I hope all of you that are having problems sleeping get some rest tonight.

ohmigosh! Elana and Murphy are just adorable!!

Returned from my monthly OB appointment an hour or so ago. Actually this time I was with the midwife in the practice. I really like her alot.

Weight gain wasn't too bad, I was only up 4 pounds. I really expected much worse. Blood pressure was back to normal (119/76) which was a relief after last month's 130/86. They are sending me back for a 2nd 1 hour glucose test next week. I'm a little annoyed since I passed my first one at 18 weeks with flying colors. I guess it's better to err on the side of caution.

This afternoon we take one of our dogs to the vet. He's acting like he got poked in the eye. He's squinting a lot and it's very watery. Probably our other dog whacked him in the eye with her tail or something. It looks painful though.. poor *little* (180#) dude.

Not much else to report. Anyone else having fantasies about quitting work? I sooooooooooooo want to leave my job, but not really an option as I'm the major breadwinner & insurance holder here. *sigh*

Chelsea- I wish a famous golfer had given me disposable underwear!

Here in Orlando we have the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children. It's major benefactor is the famous golfer..., but I never met him! That's the hospital they send all us advanced maternal aged women to. (where's the serious rolley-eyed guy when I need him??) However the underwear were marvelous! I have 2 new pair that I could send you.. They're sooo sexy!

Gotta get little bug up from her nap so she can eat. Blessed is the person that created the swing!!

Elana and Murphy are just adorable!! Returned from my monthly OB appointment an hour or so ago. Actually this time I was with the midwife in the practice. I really like her alot. Weight gain wasn't too bad, I was only up 4 pounds. I really expected much worse. Blood pressure was back to normal (119/76) which was a relief after last month's 130/86. They are sending me back for a 2nd 1 hour glucose test next week. I'm a little annoyed since I passed my first one at 18 weeks with flying colors. I guess it's better to err on the side of caution. This afternoon we take one of our dogs to the vet. He's acting like he got poked in the eye. He's squinting a lot and it's very watery. Probably our other dog whacked him in the eye with her tail or something. It looks painful though.. poor little (180#) dude. Not much else to report. Anyone else having fantasies about quitting work? I sooooooooooooo want to leave my job, but not really an option as I'm the major breadwinner & insurance holder here. sigh Hope everyone is having a good day! I took some Tylenol PM last night, so I had a better night's sleep than I have the past few days. Still smarting a bit, but I'll live. And still having BH, but I'll live. My friend Dani and my DH are convinced this baby will come earlier than her due date, since I've been so uncomfortable and having so many BH contrax. Dani had no complaints at all, except swelling, and she had to be induced at 41 weeks because the baby was not budging and he was getting too big. I know that's no indication, but it would be nice at this point, I think. My breastfeeding class is tonight, and I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. Dena, I've always had problem skin.. sensitive, dry, and eczema. So, peeling nipples is nothing new for me. However, I have been leaking a little bit.. assuming it's colostrum. And as VixenAmy said, I will find dried colostrum. I can tell it's not skin. Michelle, Elana is just too cute!

I'm just worried about bringing the new ones and getting them icky. I'm planning to head to Target to get some cheap undies and pj's for during my hospital stay. Also, I think I need to break down and get some new bras. My ribs are spreading and my fav bras are getting tight. Are nursing bras alot more expensive than regular? Should I just get regular? I'm worried that, if I get a nursing one now, will it fit later if it fits now? Or do I need to wait until after milk comes in to see what size I need? I'm so confused!

Start Date: 1/2001 then again on 9/2003	Dar- Arnold Palmer provided me with disposable underwear and I wore those for a few days (I'm a big girl, and they fit)... I also had slippers that I didn't care about with me. Good thing, because the lochia (bleeding) was really heavy and I bleed all over the gown, my slippers and the floor. Yeah, I know TMI and gross but it happened. I just wore the gown the provided, it was a cute pink nursing one. As for the bras, I got 2 to start with both from MotherHood Maternity. One is a sleep bra.. No hooks and it crosses in the front for easy nursing at night. It was about $11.00. The nursing bra was $16.00 and is the most comfortable bra I've ever worn! I was a small C when I tried the bras, so felt comfortable just getting the C cup. So far so good! Hope this helped! Dierdre

I dreamed last night I was laying in the hospital bed and it was dark, I was by myself....had some contractions....and then out popped this nine pound baby boy....not too much pain..happened very quickly....and I pushed the button for the nurse to show her what I had done. Now I am disillusioned for good. ::jealous::

It's pretty normal, from what I've been told. Whenever part of your body is expanding, it can dry your skin out and cause the skin to flake and peel. Lots of women experience the same thing as their stomachs expand.

HE is so dreading working Cinco de Mayo because thing tend to go crazy in the ghetto and he has never worked anything less than an 18 hr day. Guess I could always "fake" it!! I am SO done with watching Megan but cant tell her mom that as I know that I am the only option that the have for childcare. I am just so worn out by the end of the day that I am NOT getting anything done that I need to do. Not sure what to do.
