Oy! My first time starting this thread... I hope I didn't miss any new updates... I read through twice, but knowing me I've missed something vital... if I did, I beg forgiveness ~smiles~

Annie - I hope you got good news at the appointment!

I didn't get to see *In the Womb*.... was it good? Was it very medical? I love pregnancy stuff, but not if they medicalize everything.

Well, I've been reseearching a bit more and I'm thinking I MIGHT try BFing again. MAYBE. BIG maybe. From what I've found it sounds like perhaps I had an oversupply problem before... and that might not happen again. And even if it does there are supplements I can add to pumped breastmilk to counteract the lack of calories. I'm still thinking about it. The idea of having a baby attached there is something I'm still dealing with. DH doesn't have a problem with the idea... it's just my issue... it feels soooo intimate. I had *issues* growing up that I'm sure are contributing to my weird feelings about it.

Anyway... it's about time I run to bed. Hope everyone is doing good!

Vixen - Thanks for starting the thread!! I hope you can try BFing again (if that's what you want to do). I am planning to try. My first goal is 6 weeks, then some evaluation. I would like to do it for a solid 6 months, but I have no idea if it will work out...we'll see!

Huge vent - I went to bed with mild AF-like cramps, then woke up with them too. Now they are gone. I am really cranky today. I decided to just get up, get a shower, and get some things done. I turn on the shower and it starts spitting weird and half the water is coming out of the faucet and half out of the shower - and it refuses to get hot! So, we are having some serious issues. I wake DH up and he's like, "Ok honey, but there is nothing I can do at 5:45am". This really ticked me off, but I just walked away because the last thing I need is to argue with him today. So, I think maybe our hot water heater is messed up. The problem is the master bath is currently being gutted and can't be used, so this is our one shower and I am now looking at potenially bringing a baby home to a shower/tub that hardly works and no hot water? Well, I am sure I am exaggerating, but it feels like the hugest deal right now. Not to mention, baths are like my favorite thing right now and the tub is not draining right, so the tub is like digustingly full of soap scum, etc. Our third bathroom doesn't have a shower or tub - but at least the toilets are working. Ugh. It's always something. All of this, after reading about being relaxed when labor is close - using relaxing visualization techniques, etc.

Ok, I have that out.

Heather - I agree with your 3 year old - let's get this baby out!! How cute!!!

Thanks again, Dena and Mandy for "teaching" me photo bucket!

I'll BBL!

Hi all you pregnant mommies!

I haven't posted on the pregnancy thread before, since I am not currently pregnant or even TTC. In fact, I am on the Patch, but will be stopping at the end of this cycle in attempt to normalize my menstruation, hopefully culminating someday in TTC.

I had "The Discussion" with my SO the other day - I was very afraid he would be a "HE77 NO"-er. I know I want kids (I've actually been kind of obsessed lately), but hadn't had the discussion with him yet. We are in a very committed relationship, but the whole kids thing.........we just haven't ever talked about it before. Well, to make a short story long, he didn't say "No Way!" We agreed that it was a good idea to have returned to normal menses before trying, and that it (to quote him) "might be a good idea" for me to get off hormones.

YIPPIE for me.

So anyway, I am not TTC, (I see many months and a few more discussions between now and then) but I am excited about getting off the Patch. Even though we will be using barrier methods, I plan on learning as much as possible about myself and my fertility in the meantime. I am looking for some support with things of this nature, so thought I would drop by.

Have a nice day!

Morning ladies. We missed Louise again for the TTC list. She asked over the weekend to be added. Let's not forget tomorrow morning. She's already been a regular contributor. Who knows, maybe I can get my big butt out of bed early enought to do it myself - NOT LIKELY...LOL.

Heading into work, so I will do personals later.

Posting early when I should be getting ready for work

Vixen, I think it is great that you are considering BF again. I hope that you don't have trouble with your milk this time. Sorry about the other personal issues . My best friend had severe personal issues with BF and didn't even try.

AllyKat--Good luck going off the hormones! I am off the pill for the first time in years. I feel fine so far, but TOM has not returned yet.

Dena--Thanks for remembering me . I guess I too could try to get up in time to start the thread some day .

My DH has had a crisis at work (computers). He went in Monday at 2am and worked until 5pm. He came home, showered, slept and ate then went back at 11pm Monday night. He's still there, and assumes he'll be working until 5pm again today.

I'll check in later, assuming I get my butt to work.

Morning, everyone. We have quite a few early risers today!

Paging Martha.. (when she checks in).. just wondering if you're having any swelling? I'm noticing my shoes are tighter in the morning. That's really stressing me. My friend Dani when up a whole shoe size while pregnant. I'm a shoe fanatic.. I have my favorites, and I'd hate to have to buy a whole new shoe wardrobe! Although that could be fun, it's also expensive!!!

The slight hand swelling I can deal with, it hasn't been so bad. I don't feel swollen, just my shoes feel tight.

VixenAmy, In the Womb wasn't really technical or medical at all. It mainly focused on how u/s's have enabled us to see how babies mature in the womb, and what developments they have and when. It often commented on how certain things, like eyes opening, were thought to occur in "this" week, are actually seen earlier now with the 3D u/s. It was kind of cheesy and could have probably been a 1 hour production instead of 2, but it was fascinating to see the u/s images they had. They showed alot of 4D and 3D stuff.. the 4D of the twins was amazing.

I'm hoping for a better day today. I was positively miserable yesterday with the BH. I had a horrible night's sleep.. my hips were aching and the baby kept pushing on my bladder. Storms are in the area, so I'm wondering if that's partly why my joints ached so much.

Not to mention my dog was rolling in animal poo this morning and required a bath.. not a good way to start the day!

Back later with more personals...

Dar - I feel your pain. I don't think I have had many BH, but my hips have been hurting really badly - and sleeping is getting worse and worse! I hope your swelling is just temporary!! I would hate to lose my favorite shoes!!

Ally - welcome to the board! Deciding to TTC is such an exciting time!! Enjoy every step of the journey!

Hi everyone!

Not much time today, I'm on my way to a chiropractor to see if he can do something about my pelvic pain.

JennP, great belly shot yesterday!

Dar, I'm not really having any swelling issues...maybe a tiny bit in fingers and ankles...no problems with shoes yet. How's your water intake?

Dena, what's up with the dry mouth at night? I have to take a drink every time I get up (which is a lot!). It seems like it makes the getting up more frequent too...sigh

I wonder if the Womb will be on here...was it on National Geographic Channel? I get that one, but it's probably the UK version...

Wish me luck with the chiropractor!

I'll check back later tonight.

Hey, Martha... my water intake fluctuates, but I'd say it's not too bad. I've been putting a little lemon juice in my water at work, too. I was probably a little dehydrated yesterday from the weekend, and that's what led to the BH all day. But I drank plenty of water yesterday.

And I also have the dry mouth at night and keep a glass of water on my nightstand. As you said, it leads to more trips to the bathroom. It's a constant battle!

The In the Womb thing was narrated by an American, but all the video, and the woman they featured, was British. However, I just checked the UK NGC website and did a search for it, and couldn't find it.

I hope the chiropracter helps. Last night in bed, I would put my hand under my uterus and lift up, and it took alot of pressure off of my pubis and bladder, but then I couldn't breathe. Again.. a constant battle. LOL...

AllyKat, welcome!!!

Jenn, sorry about the crampiness. I hope things are moving for you soon. We don't need any more 41-42 week babies around here! Thanks for posting your pic!

Does anyone here check their blood pressure regularly? Mine is usually quite low (110/70 or around there) and yesterday it was 135/85. As I said, I just felt like cr&p all day, so I'm thinking that's what contributed to that. My pulse was also 91! Fortunately, we have a bp machine at work, so I may continue to monitor it every couple days if I feel icky. I don't know what's considered "high", though.

Ok, back to work...

Oh! I just remembered something else from "In the Womb" that I found interesting. I guess it's previously been believed that babies do not really develop right or left-handedness until toddler age. However, they are finding that a babies preference in utero will stick with them throughout life. Our baby has been sucking her left thumb in a couple ultrasounds. We'll see what happens!!!

Wow, Sarah, that is one cute baby!! His mouth, it's so sweet!

Dar, my childbirth class teacher showed us a move, where DH stands behind and holds your tummy up with his hands, it really felt like a great relief.

The chiropractor--he's not really a doctor, more of a physical therapist, I guess--was good. It was sort of in between a massage and accupressure. My pelvis still hurts a little, but overall I do feel better--we'll see how long it lasts. It was definitely worth the $60 for the hour. Although, I refused to get undressed for him. That's just something I will never get used to here, he wanted me to strip right in front of him with no sheet or towel Doctors never give you a gown, and I know in the hospital there will be no sheet... Maybe I'll take my own.

Yesterday I was researching Clorox stock and learned that I should be scrubbing my kitchen floor 3 times a week! Good greif, I'm a stay at home wife and I can't even find time to do it 2 a month! I mean, I wipe up spills and crumbs, but mopping...ugh.

*sending labor dust to JennP*

Seriously, I can't remember the last time I actually fully cleaned my kitchen floor. Ick! When will the nesting really kick in so I can get around to that? I know it needs to be done, I just don't have the energy or time.

I was just looking at a slide show on msnbc.com for spring break destinations, and got the terrible urge to go to the beach. *sigh*

Hey ladies,
Sorry no personals. Having a sad afternoon. I forgot to send money for my son to go to the bookfair at kindergarten. He was really looking forward to it. I can take him tomorrow night, but I feel so bad! I know it isn't really that bad but I'm crying about it! I could just picture him all sad at the fair with no money. I'm going to cry again!

It was 60 and sunny here yesterday. Today 27 and windy with snow! Sideways snow. WAAAAHHH

My house is a mess and my daughters 3rd bday party is Sunday. I haven't wrapped her presents and I don't even know what I am making for everyone to eat!

Both kids are eating non-stop. I wonder if they are both going thru a growth spurt! I'm talking every 15 min wanting something! I can't take it anymore!!!

BTW-I haven't mopped the kitchen in FOREVER.

Okay, sorry, I'm whiney today. Don't mean to dump on all of you.

Good afternoon!

Sarah-Tanner is such a cutie!!!

Dar-My feet do swell a little but most of my shoes still fit, hopefully we can break out the sandels pretty soon. Just a warning, my feet went up 1/2 size after my last pregnacy. My doctor said that's common, the extra weight you carry the last couple months make your feet flatten and get a little longer. So I had to buy all new shoes, it was fun, but yes, very exspensive.

Becca-Just have a cake and ice cream party. My daughter just turned 3 too!

Martha-Was that a clorox bleach statement? They have this commercial that shows what your bed sheets and towels look like if you don't bleach them, it's gross. I think it's just a marketing technique though. I don't know anybody who would mop their kitchen floor more than once a week. It takes me forever to mop because I rinse the floor twice to get all the cleaner off. I can't inagine getting naked in front of a doctor, even if I had the perfect bod!

My goal for this week is to learn how to post pictures on here, I have a kodak camera and I down load them onto the kodak software, do I still need to transfer them to a photobucket website?

Does anybody ever have the urge to cancel an ob appt? I am not digging this weekly thing at all. It's a 45 minute drive to their office and I always have to wait FOREVER, not fun with a 3 year old. All that they will do is weigh me and check my BP, I can run up to the local pharmacy and check my BP, ya know? My ob just got back from maternity leave and she is so backed up she won't even stay in the room long enough for me to ask a question....I hate the office I picked out. I wish my insurance would cover a midwife.

Yes, you need to dump them into the internet in order to post it here. I use imagestation.com. You create an account, then upload images. Using imagestation, I open the picture, then right click on it. By selecting "Properties", I can see the URL of the picture (starts with http:// and ends with .jpg). I copy that, then click on the "IMG" button when posting. Just paste the URL in the window that pops up and all done!

Gosh, I hope my feet don't get bigger. Even if the wieght I'm at now is the same weight I was pre-diet, they could still get bigger? As of my last dr. appt., I still weighed less than the highest I've ever been (210). I might top that soon, though, based on how huge I feel.

Ethan Cole made his grand entrance Saturday morning 3-5-05 at 36 wks!! he was 5lbs 12oz 19 inches long. I woke up Saturday morning around 615 am not feeling good so I woke up my husband and told him I had a stomach ache but was not having regular contractions .. I went to the bathroom because I had to pee and called in my husband and told him I felt like I was going to pass out ..lol if only!! I went to stand up and my water broke and here came baby Ethan!! I'm not sure how I did it but I reached down and caught him and thought for sure my husband was going to pass out! but all turned out well and Ethan is doing wonderful.. To top it all off he came out face up and when I told the nurses that they just couldnt believe it the one said she would of died without an epidural and I said well if it had been on hand at the time...lol

I'm a little upset with my doctor and the hospital because I went in the hospital on Wendsday in labor dialted to 3.5 and having contractions every minute but was not dialating and the nurse told me to go home and not come back until I couldnt breathe through my contractions or my water broke.. I told her I didnt want to leave because I lived over an hour away from the hospital and that I once I get to a certain point I go very fast so she called the doctor and told him that I wanted to see him and he informed her that he did not see anyone who was not making progress so to send me home... Well my water broke..lol and Ethan came with it!! I'm just very happy that everything turned out as well as it did and Ethan is healthy.
