Good morning! I'm wondering if Jenn is having or had her baby.
Can't wait to find out.We had our first shower yesterday. It was fun. DH grew up with this guy and roomed with him in college....his wife was mother threw the shower for us. It was a couple's shower so the hubby's got to havng out. They love to have a reason to hang out. They had a mat for a picture and had everyone sign it for the baby. It has some really sweet notes on it. One of the games we played was where they put different types of baby food on the diaper and passed it around. Everyone hqad to "smell" the diaper and try to identify the food. It was funny watching all of these adults with diapers in their faces....some of the younger dads were taking it pretty seriously..even to the point of tasting the diaper. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Hope we hear from Jenn. Good morning Martha!!

Good morning, Martha & Dena. Hello to everyone who pops in later!
As usual.. exhausted from the weekend. First Frisbee on Saturday, and then the Dade City Steeplechase (horse racing) was yesterday. Our dog school had an agility demonstration throughout the day, and I manned the information booth. It was still exhausting. The weather was beautiful, but started to get pretty warm. I took a walk in the early afternoon to find some food (corn dog and ice cream!) and check out all the vendors, and that completely wiped me out. When I got home yesterday about 5, I fell asleep on the couch, and DH said I was snoring pretty good. LOL. I guess I was pretty exhausted. My sinuses have been attacked by allergies, so that doesn't help matters. I took some Actifed and feel better, though. Anyways, a very fun weekend, just tiring. I'm so looking forward to this week... shower at work on Wednesday, BF'ing class on Thursday, shower on Saturday, and childbirth class on Sunday. I think I might even feel 'ready' after this weekend. We shall see. ![]() Dena, did you get some good stuff? Interesting game!Martha, was that the chair you posted a link to earlier? I never could get that to work, so I can't wait to see it. I'm waiting on DH to finish the rocking chair. It's stained but needs sealant on it. Then, I'll take pics. He has spring break next week, so he's got tests and such this week that he's been studying for. He'll get to it eventually. Oh, and if you missed "In the Womb", it will be on again. I know it will be on this Friday, but I'm sure it will be on other times. I thought it was pretty neat. Production-wise, it was pretty cheesy (didn't get why they kept showing the woman swimming in the water), but still interesting. Last edited by Dar20 : 03-07-2005 at 07:04 AM. |

Hey Louise! I just saw where you wanted to be added to the TTC list! Woo hoo!
Congrats! We can make sure to get you on the list tomorrow!!Dar - In the Womb was a little cheesey....fascinating too...I'm with you on the swimming part but it also got on my nerves every time they showed her eating or drinking. DH and I watched it....he didn't know they were going to show the birth....his reaction to it made me a little nervous....like catching your mother naked or something. I think it is a good idea that he stay up with me, but then it also bothered me that he couldn't watch. It's Nature.....it's a beautiful thing. We shall see, who knows how either of us will be when it actually happens. Funny you mentioned the snoring thing! DH says mine is pretty bad. He said it sounds like I am having trouble breathing...and I moan and all....I told him he could turn his hearing aids off if it bothered him....he said he already tried that. I have started sleeping with my head propped up higher....that has helped. The dry mouth has gotten better too. I have to drink water all night long to keep my mouth from sticking. It's a PITA!Sounds like you need to be careful and not over do it. I did a little housework this weekend...dusting and cleaning in those hard to reach areas that I don't get regularly....well....that didn't work too well after a couple of hours....I aggravated a nerver. DH is going to have to start vacuuming for me, but I hate it when he vacuums. Oh well, take what you can get. Can't wait to hear about your week...all the classes and showers!!! Everything we got for the most part came from our registry. We got our monitors, crib sheets, matress pads, blankets, toys, medicine...stuff like that. We got another Tech outfit, so that makes like six now! This baby's layette will be complete with just Tech stuff! My MIL took pictures, I will have to get a few from her. Make sure you take pictures for us!! Sorry for the novel....killing time, and I am about to head out for my doctor's appointment. BB later! |

Good morning.
Dena-Jenn, thanks for the compliment. Martha! Sounds like a nice chair for the nursery! Dena!Glad you had a nice shower! Sounds like a fun game. LOL Aww Dar, you should take it easy a bit!! It is amazing how worn out you can get so quickly as you get farther along. I feel so out of shape right now. DH and I dropped the kids off in MD at MILs at 10:30 yesterday and drove to King of Prussia Mall. Took us about an hour or so to get there. We shopped alot and then ate an early dinner/late lunch at the cheescake factory at 3:30. All that shopping wore me out pretty fast. We got my MIL and Sister Bday gifts as well as DD, her 3rd bday is Monday and her party is this Sunday. Funny story though. Halfway through our meal a family was sat next to us. Husband, Wife, almost 2yo dd and newborn son. Newborn son was sitting in his infant seat next to Mommy who was OBVIOUSLY a nursing mom. DH said I had been "Mammorized" (rather than mezmorized) I swear she was thin and had the biggest brea$ts! She was wearing a nursing top from motherhood that tied in front of her chest. She was wearing what looked to be a XS but needed like a M. Her tatas were BULDGING out....I couldn't help but look and know if DH was facing her he would have had the same problem! Funniest part was the poor newborn who was also Mammorized and staring at her chest the entire time sucking away at his pacifier with his eyes popped out! Oh and I had the banana cream cheesecake and it was TDF!!!

LOL, Becca, I'm
at that image! She must be so proud of them, or else she just didn't feel like going back to buy a new top. You'd think she'd expect it, though, having another child. I think last weekend was my last weekend of "stuff". What I mean is.. as I look at my calendar.. we had a very busy weekend. Well, coming up is my shower and childbirth class. Yes, the class is all day, but it can't be too exhausting. The next weekend, I have a massage. Other than that, there is NOTHING on my calendar. I guess I've kind of subconsciously cleared it, 'just in case'. I hope it stays that way, although I'm sure a trip to BRU is in our future to get the essentials what we don't get at the shower.Yeah, DH has been complaining about my snoring more and more lately. He understands it, considering things are so squished in there and my sinuses are blocked up from allergies. However, he also threatens to get out the camcorder to record me! I never do that to him when he snores! Fortunately, my DH has been really good lately about doing chores around the house. There are certain things he won't do, like the bathroom, but he'll spontaneously vacuum, do dishes, or do laundry without even being asked. I'm just hoping some of that sticks around after the baby gets here! ![]() I've been getting BH contrax on a more regular basis, too. They are starting to get uncomfortable just because I can feel them so high up. My uterus feels like it's just below my sternum. Amazing because it doesn't seem that long ago it was only just above my belly button! Hoping Jenn checks in! ![]() |

Hi everyone...sorry no personals today. I didn't even really ready any of the thread. Sorry...
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. This cold is kicking my A$$!! Everyone keeps telling me to go home, but feel guilty. It's just a cold. I was using a humidifier all weekend, and I thought it had made me feel better, but now that I am at work, away from it, I feel like crap all over again. Also, put a deposit down on a beautiful 3 bedroom aparment that is deleaded. I have to fill out the paperwork tonight and cross my fingers that my credit report comes back good - I believe it will. The only downfalls are that I will have to pay for my laundry, my brother will be living with us to help save a little money and that the landlord hasn't decided if I can keep my dog there. Hoping that I can keep my pooch, but he used to belong to my mother, and she said she would take him back if need be. I will let you all know. Maybe I will try to pop back later.

Martha--Glad that your chair is to your liking. I'd love to see a picture.
GoJackets--Sounds like the shower was a blast. We did the baby food game (though not in diapers) at my best friend's shower last year. I really sucked at that game! Good luck at your doctor appointment. Dar- Sounds like you are getting ready for your little one! Rest up, even if the snoring does bother you DH .gilbabe75--Your shopping trip sounds like fun. I love eating at the Cheesecake factory. But I sure am glad there isn't one around here or I'd probably eat there all of the time . Funny story about the people next to you!Amy--Good luck with the apartment. Did your current landlord say you'd have to move? I hope everything works out! Nothing new with me. I have a feeling my body is really messed up from being on the pill for so long (almost 13 years). I should get AF this week, but I don't think I will. No signs of her at all. Which on the one hand is nice, but on the other hand I just want things back to normal. Even though DH and I are not currently using protection, I told him last night I am not going to test until my next AF is late (approximately April 7th). Wow. That's a long time from now. DH is convinced that we will get pregnant right away. I am trying not to get my hopes up. louise |

I meant to ask......those who have boys....what was their heartbeat like....and those with girls?
Don't they say that boys beat faster? I keep thinking this is a girl....the heartbeat today was 145, and it's never been higher than 151. Not sure if there is anything to the heartbeat thing...thought I'd take a poll. Appointment was fine....I've put on 26 pounds (ugh)...BP is fine...uterus is measuring 33 weeks. My doctor wants me to get the compression hose. She recommended it at the last appointment....but didn't seem adamant. I showed her some knots in my legs from a previous injury....so she seemed more persistent this time...so I will go get them. : sigh : Off again....BB soon! |

Still here! Still pregnant!
Dena - before I forget to respond - This little one's heartbeat has always been over 145, except like maybe at 10 weeks...it was in the 120s. But, for the last several months its consistently been over 145. This is the ONLY "wive's tale" gender predictor that has been right for me! And - we have seen her "girl parts" from several angles on 4 different u/s, so we are pretty confident... Well, I am very uncomfortable. I am now having to also wear leak guard panty liners because I am leaking urine. Talk about frustrating and demoralizing. I sure hope I can work things back into shape after the baby comes. I have been doing so many kegels...ugh! Doc appt. on Friday was pretty uneventful. Still 2cm dilated, but closer to 75% effaced (was 50%) last week. She is concerned about baby's size, but not to the point of doing anything yet. She did say that my cervix was more favorable that some women's when their water breaks, so I am hoping that means things will go a little easier - ha! Next appt is Friday the 11th. Doc said she would be surprised if I made it to that appt. I hope she is right! Had period-like cramps last night for the first time...I am hoping that means something is on the horizon... I'll be back later for personals!!

Just popping in to say a quick hello to everyone!
Hope you all had a good weekend. Sounds like your shower was fun, Dena. We hosted a couples shower for some friends last summer, and played similar games. Everyone had to run a short obstacle course with a stroller (with doll), holding a coffee and a dog on a leash! Then you had to return to the diaper station and diaper the doll (which had been doctored with peanut butter!). Oh yeah -- all while wearing a set of gigantic plastic boobs. Needless to say, the pictures are hilarious -- especially the guys! Jenn -- hope your little one comes soon, sounds like you're getting close. Good luck on the apartment, Amy! Back to read more, soon. Kaillean ![]() |

Hi Ladies!
I'm just checking in...Martha, you are so close! I always thought you were months away...not any more! I can't believe how different life is with a newborn, and how different everything is now! I am so in love, though. I LOVE being a mommy! My Picturetrail account ended, so I haven't posted a new baby pic, sorry. I just have to say that the raging hormones AFTER giving birth are a huge force to be reckoned with! I cried all the time, when listening to lullabies ("I'm so happy!"), to being overly tired, to being really anxious on my own those first few weeks. It would really hit me in the late afternoon, I was afraid I couldn't handle the challenges of the night, which were just getting up, feeding, and changing diapers. I would check her breathing every 10 minutes too. You DO handle it,though! Oops! Someone's crying...gotta go! Kelley

Hi everyone!
![]() GoJackets, I have played that baby food game at showers before too. I was terrible at it! Also, I am having a girl and today her heartbeat was 150. It's been around that number each time. Dar, Hope you get some rest. I'm going to be taking an all day childbirth class too, let us know how it goes. Becca, I like that word, "mammorized". Amy, I hope you feel better soon. And good luck with the apartment. Jenn, Sending good labor vibes your way! Kaillean, Now that baby shower sounds fun! Most of the common games make me want to gag. I bet those pictures are funny! Kelley, Thanks for the hormone warning! Hi Louise! My glucose screening went ok. The drink wasn't as bad as I expected. My appointment was pretty standard too. My blood pressure tends to be a little high at first but always goes down to normal levels. My doctor says I have "white coat syndrome". He's right, I get a little freaked out at hospitals and at being poked and prodded. So why did I think it was a good idea to have a baby? Anyway, they took some extra labs to use as a baseline I guess if it looks like later I have pre-eclampsia symptoms. I have to start going every two weeks now. Maybe I will get over my doctor fear by my due date! ![]() Last edited by Luna : 03-07-2005 at 12:30 PM. |

Ok, it must be from being tired or something, but I'm feeling paranoid over here. I've been having BH contractions all day, and having a tingling / pressure sensation downstairs that feels like I need to pee. But I just did two minutes ago!
I think the sensation is from these darn BH. They are driving me crazy today! Kelley, things seem to be going well! I use imagestation.com for pictures. It's free and easy. |

Hi Ladies!
I've been on the TTC list here for awhile...still no luck though. I check in on this thread from time to time though in the hopes that I can someday be a more active participant! Anyway, I have an appointment in a few hours with a reproductive specialist who hopefully will be able to figure out if there are any problems that could possibly be holding us back. I'll let you know if anything comes of it! ![]() |

Thanks, Sarah! I am so excited too! As much as I complain and get anxious, I am definitely more excited than frustrated!
Good Luck, Annie! Let us know how it goes! Its so funny, I feel like this baby is never going to come. I know it sounds so cliche, but I literally feel like that. Its like someday the list at the top of our board will say "50 weeks". I'm not even overdue! I keep thinking this is a big joke. I'm sure when I am having full on contractions I won't be thinking this... |

Jenn, I think we need to see a belly pic! I don't think you've posted one at all since I got knocked up in November, lol.
Hope everyone is doing well. I've been on a 2 day crying streak. I called in sick to work today. My sinuses have been killing me, but it was more a mental health day than anything else. I sent dh this awful, depressing email about how I don't want to be pregnant and I don't want this baby and I don't want to do this whole mother thing alone. I'm just missing him dearly and feel really distant from him. He called to check in on me this morning, but the connection was bad on the phone so we talked over IM for a while. He made me feel a bit better, but I'm still super emotional, which means I'm eating myself out of house and home. I'm off to eat some more and watch Charmed. I'll BBL. Mandy
