Hi all,

Nothing new to report here. Yesterday I rearanged furniture upstairs and I think we can avoid redoing the pink room and put the nursery in the sitting room off our bedroom. The furniture will be a little cramped in there, but at least we won't have to paint--guests will just have to deal with the pinkness! I did find some old bed linens that fit on the spare swedish bed (sort of) and the room is looking a lot cozier now.

I really need to get the Christmas decorations down, but just can't seem to get motivated--decent lighting is at a premium here and I like the soft glow from all the lights. I also have 500 pages to read in a book I'm just not that into for our book club tomorrow night...I think I'll give that a go today.

Hope everyone is well

edited for an insane amount of typos!

Good morning ladies!

Boy did I get sidetracked....started the thread and was gonna do some personals....then before ya know it was doing laundry and whipping up some cookie dough and tidying up the place! I'm feeling really good tonight....probably because it's taking the pressure off my nether regions from not sitting all night, LOL!

Well, I'm getting a little anxious about something stupid. The nursery STILL is not done...just about, but not there yet. I ordered that crib tent a week ago and it is still not here. I tried to call yesterday to see if they would give me a UPS tracking number or something, because maybe the snow across the country affected the shipping time or something. Then I was like why didn't they give me a tracking number to begin with? I think everything I've ordered that came UPS came with a tracking number. Well anyway, tried to call the company and I got an answering machine. I didn't leave a message and will try to call again today, but my husband is now thinking it is not a reputable company and we will never get it. I have a feeling it just will take longer because of all the nasty weather across the country last week.....but dangit I want to get that nursery done! I can't hang the rest of the pictures until I get the tent set up! My husband also has to get rid of a bunch of stuff we've been storing in the closet in there too.....I've been harping on him for over a year now to get rid of it. I think he's finally got the hint and is going to try to get rid of it this week. Ok, silly rant done!

LOL, I guess I expected the third trimester to be worse, considering how terrible the first trimester was for me. I consider myself lucky for the few discomforts I've had compared to what some women go through the last trimester. I'm especially gratefull the heartburn did not come back!

I want a February baby too, so I hope mine holds out a couple more weeks. I don't feel very close yet...

BTW Ames, the full moon is tomorrow, and that's supposed to be a factor in bringing on labor if you're ready....again, I'm just not feeling it.
Yeah, a lady at church came up to me the other day and just looked at me and knew that the baby dropped. When I told her the sensations I've been having it just confirmed to her that indeed he did drop. I really don't like feeling like I have to poop all the time though.

I don't think the full moon is gonna be a factor for us.....but maybe a big storm in a week or two?

Yeah, the temps got up to the mid 30's yesterday! Man, we're either in the deep freeze or having mild temps with freezing precip. There's some freezing drizzle out there now.

Good morning all.

Nice to see you stop by Aedie.

Martha- I think having the nursery off in a connected room would be nice. My nursery will be on the other side of the house. Granted its not that far, but still.

Ames- I would call about the crib tent too. A few weeks should have been plenty of time for it to get to you, snow or not.

I spoke with my doctor's nurse yesterday about the bleeding. They are threatening bed rest. I don't think that would help though b/c it only does it when I'm laying in bed, relaxed. I am on pelvic rest, which isn't a problem sinch dh is gone, and I'm supposed to get off my feet if I feel any discomfort, like cramping. I also have to go in weekly for fetal heart tones. I wonder if I can use my doppler and spare myself the trip? It takes over an hour to get from where I'm interning to their office.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Mandy

Quick question: Some time ago, I'd found a bouncy chair that looked "grown up" It came in chocolate brown with simply a stripe in either blue or raspberry. I am fairly sure I saw it in a Garnet Hill catalogue, but can't find it on their website. I also think I saw it at www.babystyle.com but can't find it their now either. Now that I know we're having a boy, I want to order the blue one, but, argh! Has anyone seen this or recognize what I'm talking about? I feel like I'm losing my mind....

Hi Ladies,
Just a quick note on my way out the door. I had my OB appointment yesterday and OMG!!!!!!! 14 pounds in one month!!! I only gained 12 pounds with ds. The doctor didn't seem concerned as he knew I was coming off of a LC diet, but he knew I was so he's sending me to a nutritionist. I'm sure it'll all be LF this and LF that. Anyway, he said moms with twins usually gain 40-60 pounds !!! My breasts are HUGE also and killing me . I went from a 36D and am now a 44DD. This happened with ds but I ended up a 44DD at the end, I hope that I stop here.
We heard both heartbeats and everything seems well . We go for the L2 u/s on the 7th and will hopefully find out what they are .
Be back later I hope you all have a good day,
Alli

Good Morning!

Hey, has anyone got their Madame Zaritska reading on their pregnancy yet? I got one a few months ago that sounded about right, but I lost it. So, the most recent prediction says I will have a BOY and the weather will be HOT. Mind you, I'm due in February in a ski resort town. Amnio confirmed girl. Tell me if she was right for you ladies:

Hi Aedie~Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I'm so glad the ex-hubby stuff is in the past and you can get on with life.

Martha~The sitting room off your bedroom sounds ideal for a nursery! Our nursery is really small too, you can barely turn around in there. The only thing it has going for it is a walk-in closet.

Ames~I hear ya on the dreams and anxiety about getting everything done! I woke up this morning stressed because I still need a Diaper Champ and didn't get one at my shower. I will have to go to BRU. HOW can I bring a baby home to no Diaper Champ? DH doesn't get it. In our birthing class, the nurse explained the "nesting phenomenon", and that helped a lot of the hubbies understand just how important to us things can be that seem trivial to them. I hope you get your crib tent soon!

Mandy~ I hope you can avoid bedrest, especially since it happens in bed!

Ali~I've heard the same thing on weight gain with twins, don't stress. In about a week you will know who you have in there! (I'm voting for a girl and a boy, for the record).

Hi Dena! How are you feeling?

Dierdre~Oooh, you sound as if you're getting close!

Hi Smiley!

Hi everyone else!
Kelley

Um, okay.. here's what she says...

"The day you deliver, outside will be rainy. Your baby will arrive in the evening.

After a labor lasting approximately 10 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 9 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and be completely bald."

I must be having the milkman's baby. DH and I were both born b/w 7-8 lbs, and no one in our family has brown eyes. Hazel or blue, but NO brown. The rain I can believe, but that's about it.

I gotta run.. turning in a bid. I'll BBL...

Ladies,

So much for my resolution to post more often. I do read most every day so I feel like I've kept up with everyone. Sounds like we are going to have a flurry of babies here soon.

We are excited about our Level 2 on Thursday. After much deliberation, we've decided to try and find out the sex of this one. When you have three sons, everyone assumes you are only having another one to try for a girl. I would love to have a daughter but I really am more concerned that the baby is healthy especially due to my "advanced maternal age." I hate that title by the way.

I love hearing about eveyone's nursery plans. I don't know what we are going to do with this baby. We only have a three bedroom house so we are already full. I guess the baby will just sleep in our room until it is old enough to bunk with one of its brothers. My husband wants to put an addition onto the house but I'm not convinced yet.

Hope everyone has a good and healthy day.

Liz

Kelley, Thank you!!! I knew I could count on you The Oeuf is it! Now, the question is do I think it will fit in a suitcase/duffle and get here undamamged....

I have to say that Madame Zaritska kind of freaked me out. I just took a long bath and found it to be EXTREMELY comfortable and nice, and it got me thinking about water birth, which she went on to suggest (thought I'm suspecting the last, big paragraph is a standard thing). DH and I both have fine hair, and blue eyes... Here's what she said:

"What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in the afternoon.

After a labor lasting approximately 8 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have light blue eyes and some very fine hair."

Ooh, Martha, sounds good! 8 hour labor would be about right.

Has anyone thought about what music (if any) you will bring with you to L&D? Anything special? I heard you can bring lullabies for the baby too...

I need suggestions!

Yeah, she suggested I was thinking about a water birth, too. Uh, no. After watching one on Baby Story, it totally grossed me out. I'd rather do it the ol' fashioned way, and let someone else deal with the mess. I don't want to bathe in it. Ick.

Still terribly sick here. The Sudafed worked for about the first hour. All it's done since then is keep me awake like I'm on a caffiene rush. I got no sleep last night, again. Really sucks. And we had a bid due this morning which is a stressful environment, but I made it through.

Anyways, hoping I can scamp out a bit early, since I came in early, and take a nap. Or two. We'll see.. if I still can't breathe, it won't be a very productive afternoon.

Martha, didn't you say that you guys weren't going to live in Sweden too much longer, so baby could stay in that smaller room until you move over here. It's not like they really care until they get older.

Ames, I know you are stressing over the nursery, but will baby be in there from day 1, or are you going to have the baby in your room at first? You should have some time in there to finish it before he moves into his room.

Kelley, no clue on music. All I do know is I'm going to have pictures of my dogs with me. I can't help but smile and relax when I think of them. I'll probably bring an assortment unless I think of something great before then.

Its a fluke!!!!! Madame Zaritska thing that is! I just got mine and emailed to my mom, then I was going to post it for you guys but I lost it, so I answered the questions exactly the same and got a completley different answer. the first one said only 4 hours of labor, a boy, 8lbs 9oz with green eyes. The second time said its a GIRL, 10 hrs of labor, and 5lbs 6oz!!!! How silly!

Dar-Sorry your sick, I've got a stinkin cold too. Probably from the weather here. It was in the 60's last week, then only in the upper 20's this weekend, and today its supossed to get up to 68!!!!! Sudafed does that to me at night too, it makes my heart race. So I try to counteract it with a benadryl. Or 1/2 of a sleeping pill. I'm wondering if the new plug in vaporizers work? I have a plug in right next to wear I sleep.

I would love to relax in the water during labor if the water is HOT, I can't stand taking a luke warm bath, it makes me itchy. The hospital I delivered DD in only had a shower in the room, I haven't toured this hospital yet.

Rainy? Well, it IS Phoenix, but we occassionally get rain.

I am planning a water birth, or at least labor (depends on hospital vs. birth center)... I labored in the water with my daughter and it was wonderful! Water triggers the same hormones that an epidural emulates... it's fantastic!

The professional in me had to respond to this....your best bet for music to labor by is anything that relaxes you or keeps you focused on it. Basically, your favorite CD or one you burn that has a compilation of your favorite songs. Don't waste your time taking one that you'd hate tracks on and have to forward through. Your goal is to labor to music that keeps you focused and relaxed.

I used to have a humidifier when we lived in St. Louis. I got rid of it when we moved to the coast.. it was humid enough for me. Now, I'm wishing I still had it. Oh, well.

Hey Everyone!

ChristineJ - I sent you a PM, not sure if you got it but wanted you to know I am thinking about you. I admire your decision to try and tackle this naturally....if it doesn't work out, I wish you a speedy, physical recovery. I hope you will check in with us.

Ames - Every day I keep waiting to see if someone else starts the thread and here you still are! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Kelley and Nyanchan!

Hey Dar!!! I'm sorry you are sick. I had a bad case in my first trimester. But, I am so excited to see you on the 3rd trimester list!

Hi Marthad! Hi Heather123!

Mandyhoward - Glad to hear you aren't seeing clots....isn't that doppler supposed to be in today?

JennPayton - Good to see you! How are you feeling? What's been the best thing about the 3rd trimester, and what has been the worst?

Meg - I CANNOT wait for you to feel the baby!!!!! I think I was at 20 weeks or 21 weeks. I think it might have been sooner, but I kept writing it off as gas....but it got pretty obvious. Do you know if you placenta is anterior? My dr. says sometimes it takes a little longer based on the location of the placenta.

Hi Michelle! Glad you are still here....isn't it time for some new pictures?

Vixendrop - I've heard good things about the water birth. A girl I go to church with went into delivery too fast for an epidural. She is the biggest pain freak and about a -5 on a pain tolerance scale....she was able to get through it naturally and said the water helped. She wants to do it again (she is pregnant with number 2). My DH's cousin had a water birth, she said it was okay, but she couldn't get any technique going because her rear end kept floating to the top.

Hey Rooney - Let us know how things go on Thursday!!

Shelley - If you pop in, I wanted you to know I saw your belly shot. You look beautiful!!!!

SmileyAmy - Hey Sweetie! Looks like you are moving up to the second trimester soon! How you feeling? MS gone?

Chelsea - Hey Sweetie!!!

Me?

I'm fine. DH felt the baby last week! What a great day it was. Now he feels like he did something. It's great. The baby kicks a lot, but when it is low (and behind the placenta) only I can feel it.....so when it kicks high..I find DH and he can generally feel it. My boss (who is a close friend) was able to feel it. It was a lucky shot, she just happened to push a certain spot, and it kicked her. Her face was priceless. I'm enjoying finally being able to share this with others. I thought I would be funny about people touching me, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Some days the baby is busy and some days it is not. I usually get upset on the days it doesn't move much and start thinkng the worst....but usually by the end of the evening....it's starts kicking again.

So far I love being pregnant. My hip is much better. I try not to move it too much and that has worked. I just seem to be running on adrenaline now.

I'm going through this thing at night....not sure if it is the heat or what....but my mouth is SOOOO dry. I have to drink water every hour or two at night....so I'm not sleeping. I get about 2 or 3 hard hours and then it is tossing and turning all night. The dry mouth makes me worry about my glucose test. Not sure if dry mouth is the same thing as excessive thirst. My test is on Monday and I am worried about it, but nothing that can't be dealt with if I fail it. After this visit, we wil be on the two week schedule.

I got the baby's room painted. The crib is together...and we have a couple of pieces of furniture on order. My mother is in town for a couple of weeks to help me put the bedding together. The theme of the room is "Under the Bumble Bee Tree".....I have this huge ficus tree that is covered in party lights that are the shape and color of bumble bees. It makes a great night light. I will probably put my rocker near it and we will have story time "Under the Bumble Bee Tree". The room is actually TOO yellow, so I am hoping with the blue we are introducing....it will tone it down a little. I'm trying to take a break from it.....I don't want it ready too soon because I will be bored out of my mind!!!

Sorry for the novel....not much to report....if I checked in more often, I wouldn't have to bore you for so long!

Your goal is to labor to music that keeps you focused and relaxed.
I agree completely! My daughter's father brought HIS music with us to the labor and left my cd's behind! I could've killed him! I liked the music a little, but it wasn't what *I* needed to relax.

This time I'm planning on burning a few cd's:
some upbeat music I like (for during the beginning labor)
some calming relaxing music for (the end of active and transition)
And then something tribal/primal and powerful (for pushing)

I'm planning on playing the calming music after the birth too. I'm going to be playing that cd to my belly as well so Kayden will be used to it already.
