Calling all women
Anyone else have major issues with their menstrual cycle and this woe??? I do so great LCing until PMS hits and then I crave carbs so bad. Even if I have been doing great and am well into ketosis. Also I almost always stall or even gain weight in this week to a week and a half which defeats my loss from the first part of my cycle. I am starting a new low dose birth control pill (no I am not on any now) and fear weight gain or a stall on them. Can anyone else tell their story of how they are doing on BCP's at the same time or any good remedy's for PMS. I have tried vitamins, and calcium. Not sure if herbs would interact with my BCP's. This almost always ruins my progress every month! I am being tested for thyroid issues right now too as my cycle has been irregular. Thanks for your comments!

March of last year when I started this WOE, I hardly lost a thing until right after my TOM and would have a woosh. I thought maybe my pill had something to do with it ... so, I went off completely. I did lose more steadily when I went off of it, but that was just me. I am already a slow loser, so I decided whatever will help I will do. I never went back to using the pill either. Given, I didn't lose anything for awhile because I fell off the bandwagon, but re-started induction Jan. 10th and I've lost about 4.5 lbs, which on the pill I lost that much in probably 3-4 weeks. I retain alot of water when it's TOM, so I know the scale will always go up .. like it did for me the other day. Everyone is different - some will say going off the pill helped, others it didn't help. Hope I've given you some insight
![]() Oh - for PMS, I take 800 mg of Ibuprofen .... it always does the trick! (well, except for the water retention)

I have been on BCP forever except for my 2 children and don't know how this affects LC diet. This week I have been getting hungrier by the day and steadily craving carbs worse and worse. I finally realized tonite its got to be PMS but I'm already to the point of climbing the walls. I don't want to blow it so soon into my weight loss. Need to find a way to control cravings also.

The cravings are the body wanting to take in more calories to prepare for pregnancy. It's hard to fight it, take l-glutamin (sp) and chromium it helps with cravings.

I started taking ortho tri-lo months after starting this woe and it didn't effect my losing or make me gain any while taking it. As for the cravings with TOM I wish I could help you since I am fighting those atm.
