The one at Kaiser our HMO is $90, but as it stands we will not be able to take it because they offer there regular classes on Tues. or thurs for 6 weeks in the evening & there speed class is a back to back Friday/sat night condensed class. Since David is working Tues. to Fridays 2pm to midnight none of those will work so if we want to take them we will have to look to an outside source.

From what I understand you bleed because your uterus is engorged, so you are in a sense having a period. Your body is getting rid of the extra "padding" it does not need since you are not PG anymore.

Did you see my response to your question on Wed? Just incase you didn’t you asked what I did here was what I posted.....

Thought everyone knew...lol

Had no idea that you where so close to me!! Seems weird that they don’t offer epidurals... where are you going to deliver at? What if you had to have a C-section??

Slow day Thurs, no one posted after 11 am??!! was there something wrong with the board?? Well sorry about the quote sniping and not posting to everyone my head feels like it is going to split in 2, so I am off to bed.

Boy, I could have said the same thing....except my doula will be mothering me while my husband is holding my hand in a state of shock. I actually wanted to have my MIL in the delivery room a few months ago and when I asked if she'd like to be she freaked out and said noway...she'd be too scared. She was probably under the "twilight sleep" when she had her kids, so I'm sure labor probably is a scary thought to her. That's ok...the closer it gets the more I'm glad it will just be my husband and doula and now midwife. I think it will be a lot more intimate experience and I won't feel like I have to put on a show for anyone. I had no worries of my mom coming. She works full time and our relationship is strained. My parents plan on coming up for just a day visit within 2 weeks of the birth and I am ok with that.

Well, I see we have our rolleyes guy back " ". I sure missed him, LOL!

I guess that's all for now. Everyone have a great day!

Good morning all.

I had this big long post typed out yesterday and then *poof* it disappeared when I went to post it. I didn't have time to write it again, so I just went and dryed my hair.

Ames- My MIL hasn't asked about being in the delievery room, but I don't think I'm going to let anyone in but dh. Operation Special Delievery will provide me with a doula free of charge if dh can't make it home in time, and in that case it will be me and the doula. I just don't think I'm ok with everyone and their dog looking at my crotch.

Chels- Are those killer abs making room for baby yet? LOL

Aediekins- Good luck and keep trying!

Everything here is going well. I've been exhausted this week since I started my student teaching. I fell asleep on the couch last night at 5:30, woke up at 8 and ate dinner, then went back to bed.

I had some strange bleeding on Tuesday and had to have my aunt do an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. Everything looked great and the baby was so big compared to my 9 wk. u/s. It was moving and dancing around in there. Shea said she saw something that looked very phallic, but she can't be sure this early. She said if it turns out to be a boy, this will be the earliest boy she's ever seen.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Mandy

Mandy - have you gone on any webistes to watch the development of your baby? There are some great ones that show you pictures at different stages. It's amazing what happens between the first and second trimester!!!

Well, I can actually sit and watch the baby kick now. I was so excited.....I thought at least DH would be able to see the little bounce if he couldn't feel it. Unfortunately, my DH has the reflexes of a turtle, and when the baby would start kicking...I'd tell him to watch. He'd start watching me or turn his head and every time he wasn't looking, the baby would kick.

I told him that the baby will think it's daddy is Sean Hannity because that is the only consistent male voice the baby hears. Jonathan is supposed to start reading to the baby. He said he wasn't going to until he could see it or feel it. Oh well, just a matter of time I'm sure. DH is extremely shy about stuff like this. He does not have a silly bone in his body....hopefully, this baby will bring some of it out in him.

Good Luck, Alli! Can't wait to see the two of them. I hope all is going well.

Chels, sorry you feel so yucky. We'll excuse you this time. It was quiet in here yesterday afternoon, huh? I guess everyone fell asleep? I actually got some work done.. LOL.. Actually, I think I need to stay away from the PG.

Dena, how exciting you can watch the baby!!!!! Isn't that the coolest yet freakiest thing you've ever seen? I could watch it forever.. DH thinks I'm weird.

Yo, Ames...

Mandy, I'm glad to hear your first week is going somewhat well, despite the exhaustion. Hopefully it gets better.

Had a good night last night.. DH and I went to Bennigan's for some dinner, then to Circuit City to buy some tapes and DVD-RW's to be ready for our new camcorder. They didn't have the tapes we wanted, though, so it was a cheap night. Caught up on our CSI's then hit the sack. And DH was having trouble sleeping.. so his solution was to wake me up and get frisky. I love it when that happens. I don't mind being woken up for that! LOL...

Morning ladies! Hope you are all having a good day... it is snowing here and very cold, yesterday is was raining like mad and our rivers/creeks were over flowing... we've gone from 62 on Wed. to 10 this morning, gotta love the weather in Northern Indiana!
I had tons of errands to run yesterday so I wasn't able to sneak in and visit... dh took care of Emily Jean, by himself, for a full 3 hours yesterday! I was super impressed! lol New fathers sometimes freak out a little when they have to step into that role, he did say there were a couple times when she got really fussy and cranky but he just held her close & rocked her and patted her back and she eventually calmed down...
During the birth, I had my mom & my cousin (who is my best friend) in there with me, dh had pneumonia but I don't think he would have done very good in there. He really wanted to be there and as soon as they called to tell them that Emily Jean was here, he hopped in the car and drove over to the hospital... he barely remembers driving to & from the hospital but he remembers seeing her. The nice thing about just having them was, it was just us girls, everything was very relaxed and they've both been through natural child birth before so they were very encouraging.

GoJackets- LOL... my dh was the same way, he never got to feel the baby until she was so big she was practically climbing out the belly button!

Chels- I sure hope you get to feeling better!

Mandy- I loved having the u/s done because I got to watch the baby... I wished my hospital did the videotapes, it would have been neat to have one of those but they only do the pictures.

Alli- Good Luck with the u/s and enjoy the show!

Aediekins- Good Luck!

Well, guys I am going to run for now... I finally got my baby swing so I have her in it now (and she is sound out of it for once) so I am going to do some surfing & them a few chores... talk to you all soon!

LOL Dena! You summed up my DH too...he has only ever felt the baby's hiccups, because he's too slow to get over to me when she starts kicking to feel it! Then, she stops as soon as his hand is on my belly. My mom says baby must already recognize authority. One couple in our birthing class said their baby would kick whenever it heard DH's voice...don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing!

Chels~I went to your site! Great pics! I am bummed I didn't get to meet you in person when I was in the Bay Area last, you are so creative! Web design and HTML is beyond me. Maybe after baby is born I can start traveling again with DH...were you near Oakland?

Ames~I agree, just DH and the necessary medical support staff in with me during delivery. I have heard that all decorum and shyness dissolves during delivery, but the fewer people staring at my hoo-ha the better.

Dar~Yay for Mr. Frisky!

Allie~Good luck at your U/S! Will you find out the sex yet?

Mandy~What a relief to hear your babe is doing so well and getting so big! I wonder if you do have a boy in there? Can't wait to hear for sure.

Surfdol~I didn't know your DH missed the birth! Is he feeling better now? Was this your first baby together?

Well, DH is back, and the dog is a bit better. I went to dinner at my parents' house last night and during dessert, baby was kicking outward near my ribs. I pulled up my shirt and we all watched those little feetsies making a weird lump on my belly. I thought, I would NEVER at any other time practically strip at the dinner table, but it was pretty entertaining.

You know, I couldn't remember if I included that in the brith story or not but obviously I didn't... I had to take him to the emergency room on Sunday and they told him he had walking pneumonia & sent him home with a bunch of meds. Then Monday morning he took me to the emergency room! ROFL! Yes this is our first (and only) child together and I think part of him is disappointed at missing it and part of him is relieved he did not have to "witness" it or watch me suffer... lol

Heather, you can store it on a free site, such as imagestation.com. Then use the "IMG" button to post the link to the picture. Or, you can just e-mail it straight to me and I'll post it for you. PM me and I'll send you my e-mail.

LOL... that picture reminds me... there towards the end of my prgenancy (even as heavy as I was), when Emily Jean would stretch, she always planted her feet against my belly and we'd grab her feet through my tummy and she start kicking, I am not sure if it tickled or just freaked her out to have her foot grabbed... My oldest dd got the biggest kick out of doing that....

MadameX- It was that he was feeling so bad... very high fever, trouble breathing and so on... they debated on whether to keep him in the hospital or send him home the day we took him in but he convinced them to let him go... when he came up to the hospital on Tuesday night, after I had her, they let him go in to see her but he had to wash up, wear a gown & a mask... I am assuming they would have had him do that if he would have been even slightly up to the task of being my coach. Of course I was in labor from 9:00 am Mon. until 6:25 pm Tues. when I had her and he probably could not have lasted that long being sick.

Kristee, sorry to hear DH couldn't be there, but it was probably best for everyone he wasn't. At least he got to see her soon after!

Cool about touching Emily Jean's feet! When baby kicks, I try to touch her where she's kicking to see if she'll kick back, but she moves on to other areas. She's having too much fun in there with all the room she has.. rolling around and such. I guess she knows it will get cramped soon enough!

We'll be going to the Sutter Davis Birthing Center. They have a room there that is just for C-sections if you need one. When we toured the birthing center last time they said that they had /something/ for if you needed a C-section (but I can't remember what it was -- not an epidural, though) and if it was an emergency you get knocked out. I think they only have those of us with relatively un-complicated pregnancies are scheduled to go there and anyone who is likely to need a C-section goes to Sutter Davis Hospital.

Yeah, he was thrilled just to see her and like I said, I think a little relieved he didn't have to go through it with me lol... and just wait... when that baby gets a little bigger and doesn't have as much room to move, you may be able to see and feel the feet too! Of course it might be an elbow or knee or fist... lol
