question for the women

I started induction on 1/2/05 and its going great, but I'm perplexed about this....I take Ortho Tri Cyclin and am very regular with my cycles, last week of the month. Yesterday without any real warning (well the crankiness I put off to the carb withdrawal that I've been having since start) I started bleeding, as if the first day of my cycle.

Anyone else have this happen? Any ideas?

Thanks

Low carbing can screw with your periods in the very beginning....the carb withdrawl can be kind of a shock to the body.

Yep, I was off kilter the first two or three months (periods WAY late). Then everything went back to normal, and now I am more regular than ever.

I just reinducted, and started bleeding during my active pills. It is a normal reaction. Its annoying but it happened to me before.

Ok. Thats reassuring, and in my case I figured it was a good thing as I have PCOS so anything to naturally shift my cycles is a good thing in my mind. I wonder if at a later point in my low carb journey if I went off the birth control, would my periods be more likely to regulate on their own? I've read a little about low carb being really helpful with PCOS. I'd really be floored if I could have a 'normal' cycle without the birth control. That has never been a reality for me, but also I have never gone low carb seriously before either.

Any feedback greatly appreciated!!

Oh yeah, so did any of you experience a full period when it came on suddenly? I'm just wondering if I can expect to have another one at the end of the month when I am 'scheduled' to....

I had goofy periods when I lo-carbed before. Not as "heavy" and had spotting at strange times. I take Ortho Tri's too.

I have PCOS and am on the pill too. The only time low-carbing changed my period is when i started to add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to my diet. Bleeding started w/n two days. Having 2 periods a month, even if the second one was lighter, wasn't a pleasant experience for me so i cut back on the cinnamon. Now i only sprinkle it in my tea.

Everyone else who replied: Was it the low-carbing that made you bleed and/or the suppliments that you might have added? Just curious... Would be nice to have a normal period w/o any meds. :P

I'm on the Pill too.

If I'm low carbing, my period will start on the Thursday of the week I take the white pills, and it will last longer.

If I'm eating junk, I'll start on a Saturday and be done by the following Monday.
