Good morning ladies!

Not much going on here. I'm exactly six weeks from my due date today. That seems sooo short! But probably in another month those last few weeks will feel like an eternity, eh? I keep having dreams about the birth. They're not bad or scary or anything....maybe it's just because I've been reading so much material about it.

I guess I'm small on words today. Hopefully, we'll hear from more ladies this week....the thread has been awfully quiet lately. Have a great day everyone!

Morning, ladies!

Well, survived one night so far with the fam. Of course, they didn't arrive until 9:30 pm! They were in Atlanta at about noon yesterday, and it usually takes about 6 hours from there. They said traffic was awful.. probably folks returning from Christmas or tourists coming down for bowl games. Anyways, what an awful drive.

So far, no belly touching and no condescending comments. Lets hope all stays that way! I'm just very tired this morning, as DH couldn't wait to open gifts until tonight, so we were up opening and all that jazz. DH then stayed up until 2:30 am with the older nephew playing new video games.

Hope to see a few more ladies in here today!

Slim, wishing you luck today! I remember some other mommies on here trying castor oil and they said all it did was make them feel ill, have bm's, or possibly caused baby to have bm's. I know you're desperate, but does it ever work?

VixenAmy, I know you're frustrated.. but we had an u/s at 21 weeks and she's "pretty sure" it's a girl. The umbilical cord was between her legs. While DH wants to run with that like it's gospel, I'm still a little unsure. I just don't tell him that. You never know how cooperative baby will be. We plan to do a 3D soon, too.

Morning ladies. I am so frustrated. I am about ready to just let them break my water today. I am only 4 days overdue, but it feels like it has been an eternity!!! I have to call my doctor's office today to see if they can get me in to see me...since my last scheduled appointment was last Tuesday. My doctor told me they would want to see me again this Tuesday if I hadn't went into labor yet...so hopefully they'll be able to get me in either sometime today or tomorrow. It looks like it might be a nice day today, so I might take the kids on a long walk to see if that get something going!! I cleaned all day yesterday hoping all the activity would get things moving, but nope! NOTHING!! GRRRRRRRR!! Anyway, I'm sitting here remembering LittleBear and ThinInMex going through these same things...so I'm just trying to be as patient as possible knowing that ALOT of women go through this!! I'll come back later and let you all know what the doctor says!!

Ames-I know...for some reason I totally freaked out when I was six weeks, because it seemed like such a SHORT period of time!! It really does go fast...but like you said, the last 2 weeks DRAG by!

Dar-Glad everything is going well with the FAM! Maybe your SIL has decided to grow up a little!!

Dar....glad the SIL situation is going better than expected and I hope it continues that way for you!

Elana update (are ya'll sick of these yet? part of me feels like I shouldn't be on this thread):
Went last night and her little eyes were open wide and she was very alert! We found out that they started 10 cc feedings every 3 hours yesterday and now she's waking more wanting to eat more often which is a good sign that she's recognizing her hunger. She also has gone from 3 liter oxygen push to 1 liter oxygen push on her nasal oxygen which we also didn't expect until next week. Basically, all her stats (heartbeat, respiration, oxygen saturation) are within normal limits with minimal assist. We will find out today if she is carrying any infection, that will decide when her iv's are removed. She remains under the billirubin blankets which make her look like a little blue glow worm but it allows me to hold her and spend close physical time with her. Was a GREAT visit!

Well...it's official...I am now a stay at home mom until some time in April. Too bad it has to be in bed, huh?

Spent yet another night in the hospital due to pre-term labor last night. That was my 4th visit since Dec. 1st. This time they had alot more trouble getting my contractions to stop. They ended up sedating me over night to try to get my muscles to relax...which worked.

I do have short term and long term disability, so, hopefully we'll be fine financially. Of course there is a 2 week wait, which my vacation and sick time should pick up.

Little Megan is still doing great...her heartbeat and all stayed just fine last night...as long as they could pick her up on the monitor...she was very active.

My daughter, Lacey, is excited to have me home...I've worked all her life. She will be 12 in March, a couple of weeks before Megan arrives (hopefully if we can hold her in that long).

My doctor said that if/when I have to go back to the hospital with contractions again they're going to start the steriod shots every 12 hours to help develop the baby's lungs. And once I make it to 35 (7 more weeks) weeks then he won't stop the contractions, he'll let me go ahead and have her.

Hi Mommies~

It's been forever since I've posted here, but I wanted to drop in & say "hi".

We finally got moved into our house the second week of December & have been crazy busy between the moving & the holidays. I can't beleive how fast time has gone by, I have so much to do before the baby is here!

I've also fallen HARD off of the LC wagon (in fact, I think the wagon ran me over & left me in the dust, !) At this point, I just eat whatever (& feel guilty, of course) & figure I can re-start after I have the baby.

Hope everyone is well & I'll try to post more often.

WOW the LC Wagon ran me over too! My DH keeps telling me how good I did for so long...where is that strength now?? I keep saying I will start eating healthier in general tomorrow, but tomorrow keeps starting off with Christmas Cookies! YIKES.

Anyway it has been a happy healthy BUSY Holiday season so far! Things are going great! Thursday I go to the doc - I can not wait to get on the scale!

Kimism ~ Sorry about the bedrest; hope your little one cooperates & doesn't give you too hard of a time! I was supposed to go on bedrest at 30 weeks with my last pregnancy, but I "bargained" with my OB to let me work part-time (we didn't have any disability insurance where I was working.) In retrospect, I should have listened (I ended up being induced due to toxemia) & I'm being much more careful this time around.

Hi to everyone else.

Sorry I haven't been around. Dh just left yesterday after being home for 5 days. They were fun days, but it wasn't enough time. There is a rumor that they will all get a 4 day pass in January RIGHT before they leave for Iraq. Unfortunately, the pass will fall right over an internship meeting that I'm required to attend. I'm going to make some calls to see if I can get some strings pulled so I can miss the meeting and go see Jake. It will be the last time I see him for almost a year, so I think they should make an exception.

I had my first OB appointment today. I am measuring in at 9 weeks and 1 day, which is only 4 days behind where I should be by my LMP. That is amazing to me considering I was measuring a week behind last week. The heart rate has gone from 127 BPM to 160 BPM, so it looks like everything is ok. It even had little arms and legs that were distinguishable today.

We told our families over Christmas and it went well, only now people won't leave me alone. My step mom is pestering the ever loving poo out of me. Will that pass? Its driving me nuts!

I had my check-up today: I HAVE GAINED SIX POUNDS IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS! Gaaaaahhhh! Even my doc was surprised, and looked at me disapprovingly. I was up at 3:30 AM and was soooo thirsty, I drank a quart of water. I *hope* it might be water retention, but I have been eating Christmas cookies daily. Many cookies daily. Lots.

Mandy ~ Glad to hear you had a good OB visit! I really, really hope you're able to re-work your schedule so that you can spend that 4-day with your DH! We've had 2 deployment "scares" in the past month since we've gotten here. When DH was inprocessing, he was told that he would only be here long enough to inprocess & be issued his DCU's (desert uniforms) before leaving for Iraq in January. He ended up being assigned to a different unit & we found out that that unit was going to Afghanistan in March. The day we found out about that deployment, he was moved to a different unit because they were short on SNCO's. So (for now), the only things we're facing are a 3-week TDY in January & then a 2-week training exercise at some point in the spring. Lots of luck to you with the deployment! Hopefully he can schedule his R&R around your due date!

Kelley ~ Yep, we're all moved in. Now, we just have to start the claims process for all of the damaged/broken items. Of course, the third bedroom (the baby's room) is full of boxes that still need to be cleaned out!

Okay, now that I think I am finally getting over this stupid cold/flu that has lasted a couple weeks (oh god, I just jinxed myself, didn't I???) I want to start excercising again... I was planning on going back to karate since my midwife said it would be okay, but I just don't feel like my body is up to it since I still get so horribly tired so easily... I'd like to do something like yoga or something like that, but I've never done it... I've seen lots of pregnancy yoga and pilates tapes, but I don't know which are good and which aren't... any suggestions? Or ideas for other excercises?

Well, this is where I'm confused, so what I put in my siggy is what my scale at home says (the same one I have been using for the past year). I weighed two days ago and it said 150.8, so I rounded up to 151. The one at my doc's said 153.4 today but that was with clothes on. The doc also had me at a higher starting weight to begin with but at home I weigh in the buff in the morning after I pee and before I even drink anything. The thing is the nurse sometimes subtracts three pounds for clothes and I wondered if today she didn't? I can tell my knees are getting chubby again (grr, this was always a problem spot for me), so I know I'm putting on "maternal fat stores", I just didn't think it was six pounds' worth in the last two weeks!

There is no way you gained 23 pounds, don't even fret! From your picture, you look great! You just went from having a tiny little mini-pooch on your belly to a little pooch on your belly! AND you're six months along.

Sorry...not a lot of time for personals. I just got home - had to work late - and DH is complaining that I went right online.

Just two quick things...

One ~ I am afraid to have sex. Poor DH hasn't gotten any in over 4 weeks!! I don't know why I am so nervous. Maybe because I am still spotting ever so often. My dr is not worried...but it makes me nervous. Am I being silly??

Two ~ I found out my doctors practice is a group practice - meaning I probably won't have her during labor. I am so scared!! I can't believe I won't know my doctor ahead of time. Not to mention I DO NOT want a male doctor. I know I am being silly, but it really freaks me out to have a man down there who is not my husband. And, there is nothing I can do about it!

Well, DH is calling.

I will try to check in before I go to bed.

We're not ALL gone! I'm usually on a LOT in the evenings... we need to get this thread more active then too!

About sex... I understand why you're nervous... I have several friends who'd been actively trying to get pregnant and when they finally did they were so nervous about everything... didn't want to risk what they worked so hard for... you need to trust your doctor though... she knows if there's a reason to not have sex... doctors are generally pretty conservative about that too... if there was ANY indication that there MIGHT be a problem then she'd tell you not too... try to just suck it up and do it... afterwards you might spot a LITTLE more, but that's completely normal... completely... you might feel some VERY MILD cramping too... don't panic... that's also normal caused by the hormones your body releases during orgasm... it happens even when not pregnant, but it's not able to be felt then because there's nothing in there... once you do it and see that nothing bad comes from it you should be able to relax more and feel better about it.

Now, about your doctor... if it worries you enough then you can switch doctors... there is nothing saying you can't... with my daughter I swicthed doctors several times before finding my midwife... just switch as early in pregnancy as possible and make sure to sign the medical release forms quickly so they can get your history quickly. Heck, I know one woman who had to switch doctors in her last month because her doctor retired unexpectedly and she had no problems... I'm sure there are other doctors out there who aren't in group practices like that... have you considered a midwife?
