Good morning ladies.....I am sooo sleepy and exhausted tonight, I'll be lucky to get thru without a nap. I guess being out and about yesterday wiped me out. We found a few things, but I'm still in search of the right color bumper and sheets. We'll try again at Baby USA and Babies'R Us on Friday.

I am so sorry for your loss AZparalegal. You'll be in my prayers.

Love the new name Michelle.

I guess that's all for now. I'm just gonna take it easy tonight. I'll check back later.

Ames....thanks, figured it was time to change as I'm not so Desperate anymore (plus hubby says he won't post a birth update under my old name 'cause he never sees me as "desperate" about anything). What color bumper/sheets are you looking for? Perhaps someone here has seen some and can save you some shopping at this time of year. Take it easy overdoing it, I know it wiped me out for 3 days when we did it last weekend.

Well, I got the shock of my life last night. I received an email from my stepmother with an apology and wanting to make things right. I about fell off my desk chair when I saw it. While I was disappointed it wasn't from my dad, I realize I have to deal with her before having any sort of relationship with him. So I've replied stating I forgave actions/comments long ago and life is too short to live it judging people on their actions. Perhaps this little one coming into the world can bring some much needed peace to that part of my family....but trust me, I'm being cautious and lowering my expectations.

Pregnancy wise....I slept like a baby last night!!! I so did not want to get up this morning to take hubby to work. I can only pray it stays this way over the next week....OMG, a week from today!!! Amazing how fast this pregnancy has gone! Hope Surfdol and GetNSlim are doing well...we're about to have some babies on this forum!

Have a great day everyone, I'll pop in and out.

Well, I'm looking for a dark red...like cranberry or maroon, because that is the dominant color in our Noah's ark wall rug. I found some curtains really easily, thank goodness. I do remember BabyUSA had a big selection, but at the time I hadn't decided on the color, so I'm hoping they've got some. I don't remember what Babies'R Us had. So far I've hit the major department stores, Kmart, Walmart and Target and I've also gone to Baby Depot which is part of Burlington Coat Factory and Kohl's. It seems that lighter colors are the style or primary colors (red, yellow, blue) when it comes to the bolder colors. I didn't think it would be this hard....but then again it seems that the color or theme I always choose ends up not being the style out there so I either have to give up or make it myself! Well I ain't making these so I'd just better find them!

Hmmmm Ames.....I'm thinking I saw some darker red crib sheets at BabiesRUs awhile back when I was looking at bumpers. That said, I'll warn you...I personally had an awful time finding bumpers in nontraditional colors when I was looking for lavender vs. pink. I did have a lot of luck finding plain colored bumpers in a variety of colors online. Wish I could remember the site, it was a whole "bumper warehouse" of everything under the sun at reasonable prices. Wonder if you could buy white sheets and dye them if you found the right color dye?

Good morning ladies. It is only 5:00 a.m. and I am not used to being up this early. I have a feeling today will be the day. For some reason I have the ability to stop my contractions if I go to sleep...so last night when I started having them I just went to bed because my parents were out of town for the night, my sister was at work, and my husband was out of town....so I didn't want to go into labor. Now that I am up (my son woke up for some reason at 4:30 and I had to hold him to get him to go back to sleep), they have started again. I am actually going to go lay back down on the couch but I don't know if I will be able to go back to sleep!

Ames-Good luck with the bumpers/crib sheets. I'll look around online for you...I'm wondering if we have the SAME Noah's Ark set!! I believe I know exactly what color you're talking about. Have you checked out Ebay??

Michelle-I like your new name also!! You think you're gonna beat me?? Maybe your baby girl will be older than my little boy!! Are you as tired as I am?? I feel like I can't catch up on my energy I lost from doing all that cleaning and sorting!! UGH!!

Hello to the ladies that come in later. I will keep you all informed!!

OMG I hope not!! I know how huge, tired and frustrated I feel so I can imagine how you feel a few weeks ahead of me!! Right now I'm thankful I know the date and can simply countdown because if I had my way....she would have been born a week ago!! This last month is exhausting.

Keeping fingers crossed today is the day for you!!

OK ladies- Just need some pity. Now on top of this lung infection I've got going, I caught a cold.

At least the Zithromax seems to be working and my lungs don't hurt as much, nor am I coughing as often. Now I've just got the snotty nose and sneezes to contend with.

I am a strong person and will make it through the next 6 weeks.

Nuff said. Oops, one more thing. I'm tired of peeing my pants everytime I sneeze or cough! I feel sooooo not human.

OK, now I'm really done.

On the positive side, this doesn't seem to be phasing baby Audrey too much. She is being fairly active today. The baby furniture is being delivered at 3 and the electrician is also coming this afternoon to fix some damage from the hurricanes. So, I guess staying home does have a silver lining... Although I'm pretty bored!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hi Ladies.

Somewhere I crossed the line from just a normal third trimester into something not so normal, at least to me. I figured, ok, te back pain I can deal with. Pretty normal. Then came the itchies. I had those last time. No big deal. Get some Gold Bond Lotion and move on.

But I draw the line at swelling! I had CANKLES yesterday at work. I couldn't get my darn shoes back on after taking them off. My feet were so swollen the skin was shiny and it hurt like hell to walk. Plus I started having pitting over my shins and a nasty headache. Our nurse at work was concerned enough to want to check my blood pressure. Thankfully it was 132/80 or I would have been calling the dr. So I elevated my feet and started drinking lemon water. When I got home DH rubed my feet and calves trying to push the excess fluid out. That did help somewhat.

But I woke up this morning and they are still swollen a bit. What do I do? This just friggin sucks. I never swelled with my first pregnancy so I have no clue as to what to do that is safe while pregnant to treat it.

Luckily I see the dr tomorrow. Hopefully he'll be able to help. I also feel like I gained whole bunch of weight this last two weeks but I don't have a scale to confirm with.

5 1/2 weeks to go and I am counting the days.....

Sorry I am so pissy this morning. I feel like I can cry right now.

nyanchan..... So sorry you're feeling so bad. I hear ya about being home getting boring...I'm now addicted to Pogo games LOL. There's only so much TV a girl can watch.

Shandril......I just started getting some swelling in my wrists and ankles, but amazingly can still wear my wedding rings. But, I also sit in my recliner on/off all day. Have you got a space at work, if you sit, that you can take in a little footstool to get your feet up throughout the day?

I have to agree with the third trimester sucking....although it's been only the final month that's sucked for me. All the cuteness, fascination, the "look at me I'm pregnant!" phases are over....let's get on with it already!

Hi, girls,

Just wanted to say Good Morning. Not much going on here.. at least it will warm up a bit today. I got my pillow back yesterday, so I had a relatively decent sleep. The doggies were a bit annoying, though. When they are really tired, they are hard to move during the night.

Anyways, I'll check in later...

I'm at that point already! Now what do I do?

Dierdre~Hope you feel better

GetN~ That today IS the day, if you want it to be!

Michelle~I love your new name too!

Dar~Yay on getting your pillow back. Will you take it to the hospital with you? The (one session) birthing class I took, they told us to bring two regular sized pillows and one little pillow (to put under your belly on your side) from home.

Ames~I agree about dyeing the sheets yourself. You could get some of those t-shirt sheets from Target (the woven ones got a BAD review on fitting) and dye them with cranberry or pomegranite juice if you don't want to use artificial dyes like RIT (they bleed and smell, IMO, even after they are "set").

Shandril~ About the cankles. At leat your BP was good!

Well, I found the cutest "plush standing horse" that will go with the western theme for my baby's room. Baby can even ride it when she gets older. I brought it home and my dog had a fit! She growled at it and the hair on her back stood up until I put it in the closet. It was the same size and color as she is. Pretty funny.

I'm back...I went a slept for a few more hours...! It is so wierd to me that when I am awake and moving I am having contractions, but as soon as I lay down they go away. I'm hoping that maybe alot of activity today will help me go into labor. I am going to go grocery shopping and finish Christmas shopping, lots of walking around! I am SOOOOO thankful that I have my parents and my MIL in the same town as me. I wouldn't know what to do without them! Okay, going to go take a shower and get ready for the day.

Michelle-Sometimes I wish that I could have a c-section just so I knew what day I would be having him, but then I saw my SIL recovery from it and I would rather be patient and let nature take it's course!!

Shandril and Dierde-I'm with ya both...3 trimester is no fun at all! I am just happy mine is almost over! you both feel better!!

Madame-I'm wondering if the standing horse you got is the same one that my 3 yr old DD wants for Christmas!!! They are SOOOOO adorable!!

$29 at Walmart! Holds up to 140 lbs! Internal metal frame! 4 different colors! While I was there trying to decide which color, I must have seen 7 or 8 little girls go crazy for them and climb on and ride. Will you get one for your DD? I have seen them for hundreds of $$$ elsewhere.

I doubt it. It's my friend's body pillow, so it's pretty big.. like 5 feet long. I'll probaly bring one of my own pillows to the hospital.. I'd hate to risk losing it again!

LOL on your pup. I'd leave it out rather than hide it in the closet. Let her get used to it. In addition, rock it for her so she knows it moves. Give her cookies for approaching it willingly, but don't force her. She'll probably accept it as furniture when she realizes it won't hurt her.

Hello ladies.

Ames- Hope you get some rest!

Michelle- Are you counting down the days? I bet you are so excited!

GetNSlim- Glad you were able to get a bit more sleep. That is strange about the contractions. Hopefully today will be the day.

nyanchan- Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Shandril105- I hope your swelling goes away. I can imagine that would be uncomfortable and annoying.

Dar- Glad you got your pillow back. It really makes a difference in the way some people sleep.

MadameX- I would leave the horse out like Dar suggested. That way she isn't raring to attack it when baby comes home!

All is ok here. My MIL is coming today to help me get the apartment all packed up. I'm still spotting, but I haven't had any more clotting since Sunday. I'm getting my hair cut today and I cannot wait. Its gotten really long and it was pretty for a while, but now its just annoying. I'm going to get quite a bit of length taken off. Dh will be disappointed when he comes home next week, but he always is when I cut my hair. On a very bright note, he will be home in less than a week! I can't wait. I haven't seen him in a month and this will be the last time I see him for, well, I have no idea. He'll leave the country after the first of the year and I don't know when I'll see him again. Needless to say, we have to make the most out of the 5 days he gets for Christmas.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Mandy

Hi gals!

So Mandy-do you have to spend your 5 days with hubby moving? And let me guess, the doctor probably gave you a thumbs down on fun in the bedroom, huh? That would suck! I hope you can make the most of your 5 days, I don't see how you girls can go so long with out having your man around, I seem to go crazy just while DH is at work...

GetNSlim-I hope today is your day! I wouldn't know what to do if I actually went into labor by myself. I never even had one contraction with dd and that was going two weeks overdue. Hopefully this time will be different. I have to laugh when people talk about staying at home as long as possible during labor, I had that in my plan too! So anyway, you're so lucky everything seems to be going naturally for you!

I hope Kimism is doing ok, she hasn't posted all week.

Fortunately, I will be doing all the moving before he gets home. Hopefully I can have it all unpacked and in its place too. He's so lucky not to have to do any of it while he's home, but I'm glad he doesn't. It gives him more time to spend with his family (and me!). The doctor said to forgo sex until the spotting has let up for 7 days, but I think I'm going to pretend I didn't hear him. This will be the last time I see him until I have this baby (if it decides to stick around) and I sure won't feel like having sex then. I think as long as we aren't too rough all will be ok, LOL. Besides, at this rate I don't think I'm ever going to quit spotting. What a pain.

Mandy....just be careful with all that unpacking and "fun"!!

OK ladies....want to know when your mother has bought too many baby clothes? When she sends yet another box of clothes that includes an identical outfit you received from another family member. Not only the same outfit....but the same size (6-9 mos.)!! I swear it's time she stop LOL

Hey ladies.

Nuttin new here. Feeling a bit better.

Mandy, please be careful with DH and the bedroom celebrations. And if you reach "O" it can cause your uterus to contract which in the early stages with you already having problems might not be good. Hope you can safely have lots and lots of fun with DH while he is home.
