Good morning ladies!
The baby has got hiccups right now and I think it's making him mad, because he's kicking like mad, LOL! My husband is doing better. I on the other hand just feel out of it this week for some reason. I just really don't care about anything...not sad, depressed or happy, just blah! Oh well. Have a happy hump day everyone! Ames |

Morning mommies
Not much time today, lots going on. But I wanted to ask again if any one is experiencing pelvic pain? Yesterday mine got worse, and is probably a 6 on the 1-10 scale. Its mostly when I roll over in bed, or get up and the first few steps. I put a call into my doctor, and am waiting to hear back. I searched the web, and it seems it's called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction. Maybe I need a chiropractic adjustment? Cheers all! |

Goodmorning. I hope you're feeling better soon, Martha. Seeing the chiropractor may help you a ton. Right now I'm seeing one twice a week for some lower back pain.
So far, I'm having a great day. No morning sickness. No gas. Oh, wait.... I've only been up for 30 minutes. Seriously, is there a product that any of you use that helps get rid of the gas? Mine comes daily and is quite embarassing.Have a great day everyone! |

Morning Ladies!!
Gas fun huh? I'm so thankful I typically only get mine at night....but I do live on Tums. It clears up any gas I may have quickly for awhile. You might want to try that. I have them stashed everywhere including a roll in my pocket when I was at work. Marthad....is the pain you're having like a cramping or a sharp pain that suddenly hits when you roll over/get up? Wondering if it's round ligament with your uterus tilting when you adjust to a new position. Ames....glad to hear your hubby's feeling better and hope you get out of the blah's soon ![]() Doing ok here. I keep waking with horrible headaches this week. I'm starting to wonder if it's the lack of good sleep that's causing them because I keep waking with the baby's feet in my ribs *ouch*. I really need to start planning on accumulating what I need to pack for the hospital and getting my papers together that I want/need to take with us. Other than that, I think we're ready to go! Have a great Wednesday everyone!! |

Michelle, Glad you're feeling better today. It's not round ligament pain, although I have that too. At first, I thought this was muscle stiffness due to turning over in bed differently to try to avoid round ligament pain. But now, althought it feels like it is, it's clearly not muscular. It feels like I have a really stiff muscle but it's my pubic bone instead. I can't do any sort of stretch to "feel" it. I called the doctor, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Hi everyone!!
Just headed out the door to go to Houston but I thought I'd say Hi. I was finally able to find the heartbeat with the doppler I rented last night. It took about 4 tries but I finally found it. What a huge relief!!! This is the week I lost the last pregnancy so it's definitely helping to squash my anxiety. I also have a sonogram on Monday for the Nuchal Translucency scan. I feel pretty good. My energy may be coming back slightly but OMG, the gas is incredible! Have a great day everyone, I'll try to check in from the road. Meg PS: Kelley, yes, that's my DH in my avatar. Sometimes I still look at him and pinch myself wondering how I got such a hot hubby that's so sweet, so French, and so young! Ooo lala! I must have done something right in a past life. ![]()

Sorry I didn't pop in yesterday. Thanks for thinking of me Alli. I woke up and the consistency and amount of spotting had changed, so I went to an urgent care center here and was sent over to an OBs office. They did a pap smear and other invasive stuff, but they let me have a U/S. I was thinking the worst: the baby probably doesn't have a heartbeat, it probably hasn't grown, etc, etc, etc, when all of the sudden I look at the screen and see a flutter. A bunch of them, one after the other. My child has a heartbeat. Thank God! The tech measured me at 5W 6D, which is a few days behind where I thought I was, so she couldn't pick up how many beats per minute the heart was going, but I got a visual which eases my mind somewhat. Dh is still amazed that there is actually something in there. I guess I'm going to have to send my U/S pics down to Ft. Polk for him to see.
Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry everyone is so gassy, LOL. My finals start today so I don't have time for personals, but I'll check in later. Mandy

Hi ladies...
I had an wave of nausea on the way to work this morning. All I could think about was how fast I could get from the high speed lane to the breakdown lane - and would I be able to do it before all over myself. But, it passed quickly. Thank GOD!!Nothing else really going on... Ames ~ Glad DH is doing better. Sorry you are feeling blah this week. Cheer up!! Martha ~ Sorry you are feeling pain. I don't have any words of advice. Sorry... Let us know what your doctor says! naerenaenae ~ Glad you are feeling less sick/gassy today. Hope the rest of the day goes well. Michelle ~ You aren't that far away - I would get your stuff together if I were you! I can just picture you, contractions and all, trying to get your things together because you kept putting it off. LOL Meg ~ I do have to say "ooh, la, la" to your DH too. He is a cutie! My DH's aunt says that when she was pregnant she bought a doppler. She is going to let me use it when I got to the point where I could hear the heart! I can't wait for that... allibaba ~ I guess everyone has their days - pregnant or not. I have been trying to eat well since I found out, but yesterday I was walking through the grocery store where they had sugar cookies with frosting on them - and they were on sale for $2.99! I had to buy them and eat like four. I am not sure if it was a pregnancy thing or not, but I ate them anyway and they were so good! But then I felt a little guilty afterwards. And, no, I don't think Mandy has checked in in a couple of days. Hope everything is alright.Hi to anyone else!

Way too much time on my hands!
|
Hi There!
Just checking in. I went out to dinner with my boss last night. We are friends outside of work. She doesn't want me to leave, but DH and I agreed when we got married that when we started our family, I would stay home (for a little while). My boss threw out the idea of me working part time. I am considering it, but DH didn't seem to be too thrilled about it but he did finally concede that my happiness is as important as the baby's and his. I've worked with adults ever since I was 15 and have had a lot of responsibilities for the past 16 years. So, boom have a baby and give it up? Who knows? People say "one look at that baby and you will forget all about work"......but I'm not so sure. My mother wants to move close to me, and DH's mother is retired. The only way I would agree to work is if they both kept the baby. Actually, it would probably be the only way DH would want me to work. I've seen these kinds of dilemas tear apart my own family, so I'm glad we are talking about it now. I just like the idea of bringing in at least half my current salary....and how often do we find a job that we truly enjoy going to? This is the first time in my working career that I am truly satisfied. Oh well, who knows what will happen....generally, this company does not offer part time work for my position, but my boss is good about making things happen. The problem is that I work an hour away from home, so 2 hours of my day is still driving....but that would only be two or three days a week. I would stay at home at least six months before considering going back part time......but....maybe by then an answer will be clear. I just don't like the idea of struggling if we don't have to....KWIM? That's about it....still feel great (except for my nasty head cold). Hi to everyone! Be back for personals!

GoJackets.....you'll know what's right in the end.
![]() OK....just got out of shower and I seriously think I deserve an "amateur contortionist award" for getting my legs shaved! I cannot stand them to have hair on them, and living in Florida makes it worse for me as people see them more. Question....any of you used that new Veet product for hair removal vs. shaving? Curious because I know it'll drive me batty post baby and I won't be able to bend to shave, but hubby or MIL are willing to do it for me to keep my sanity. |

Good morning!
Everything is fine here my way. I just keep thinking that after December is over I will only have 3 months left! I'm starting to get excited, we're ready for this baby to be here! We went and visited a friends newborn baby boy on Monday and I think that's whats started this feeling. I'm glad everything is ok Mandy, I've heard stories where women sometimes have an actual menstral cycle for a few months. Martha-I get a sharp pain in my pelvis every once and a while too. I've gotten it before being pregnant though too. For me it feels like the bone is throbbing and it will come and go every 20 seconds for like 5 minutes. I thought it was a muscle too b/c it felt like I could actually put my hand on the pain and feel twitching, but it's just the bone. Let me know what you find out, I'm curious now since its happened to someone else. Amy-Good thing you didn't have to pull over! That would suck! Michelle-YES, I have the Veet mouse and it works great! Mine came with a plastic razor to scrap the hair away. I have a very personal question to ask you ladies....do you guys shave your bikini line? My skin is so sensitive down there and if I shave that area I have a painful razor burn for 3 days. I'm always self concious when I have a vaginal exam so I will shave it for that, but when I had DD I did not shave b/c I didn't want all that extra uncomfort during and after labor. Even the Veet makes it irritated, so my question is if anyone uses a bikini hair shaver/trimmer? Go Jackets-Thats a tough call, I wanted to stay home but thats because I hated my job. What am I saying? I just hate working period! lol Having your mom and mil watch the baby wouldn't be bad though, you wouldn't be worring all day.

heather ~ I feel you on the shaving the nether region problem. I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing works for me. TMI - I just keep it short and at least not growing down my thigh. I use a beard trimmer to keep it short and a regular razor where the pubic are and my leg meets. I have tried deplitory, razors, electric razors, Magic Powder...I get razor burn with everything!!

Hair removal, one of my favorite subjects!!
I am a waxing/pulling enthusist. Haven't touched a razor since 1990. On my legs legs I use a pulling machine. Under my arms I go between waxing and pulling. I have shaved "down there" a couple of times long ago, but do not reccommend it due to the itch factor. Go to a salon/spa for a bikini wax. I used to have a great waxer do brazillians in NYC, but can't find anyone good here, and now it seems too ****ty so I just use (oh boy, here comes the confession) my husbands beard trimmer!! I'm pretty sure he knows and doesn't mind though.![]() edited to add, it edited my post. I meant to say s-l-u-t-t-y Last edited by Marthad : 12-08-2004 at 09:00 AM. |

Hi Mommies -
Smiley Amy - carry barf bags with you everywhere! Stash some in the car, keep 'em in your purse and in your desk at work! If you know someone who travels a lot, ask him or her to grab you some airplane sickness bags on the next flight. As for hair removal - believe me, the doctors have seen things you can't even imagine. I wouldn't worry about it. Just be comfortable. And by the way ... WAXING ... OUCH!!! Regards, LizzyD |

ooohhhh hair removal *taps head thinking*
I used to shave down "there" religiously and never had issue with razor burn due to a product I use from the Pleasure Company which is made for that area. However, now that I can't reach that area...grrrrr....I too trim it up with hubby's beard trimmer LOL. However, I can't even do that now so it's been growing "au natural" and driving me absolutely batty! Hubby has agreed to trim it down prior to going to hospital though ![]() Dunno what I'm worried about though....seems docs have seen everything and anything and women lose all dignity via childbirth. I am however impressed not one word has been said about my piercing in that area and I assume I don't have to remove it since having a CSection LOL. Hi Kristen!
I have been shaving "down there" with just a regular razor for years. I did get razor burn for about the first month, but honestly it goes away and has not bothered me since. You need to be careful of where the elastic on your panties hits if you do it thogh. I also have a bikini trimmer for "landscaping" the regions further down, but with my big ol' belly now I have to use a mirror. I know the doctors and nurses have probably seen it all, I just feel more comfortable being groomed down there; kind of like having a pedicure and manicure, IMO. Kelley
