Good morning ladies!

Congratulations karatejen! Can't wait to hear your birth story!

tekla and mandyhoward and congratulations to you both! You'll find a lot of support here. We are little quiet on the weekends, but pretty chatty during the week.

There used to be a nursing thread over on the challenge boards...I don't know if they are still continuing it. I don't see why you can't start your own thread though.

Good luck SmileyAmy.

Well, my sweetie is getting his surgery this morning. Prayers are welcome!

I'll check back later today. Everyone have a great day!

Well ladies...add me to that list!! I AM PREGNANT!!

Can you see it??

I am still shaking right now...I called in late to work. I don't even know how I am going to make it through the day! OMG! I just want to tell everyone. But, I assume I should wait until I at least get a blood test done. I am going to call my doctor this morning.

DH kept telling me to wait to test...good thing I didn't. You should have seen his face when I walked out of the bathroom this morning. LOL It was so funny.

Well, according to FF, my due date - OMG, my DUE date, LOL - is 8/8/05!!

Now, Sarah, you have to show me how you did that ticker in your siggy!!

Thank you to all you guys. You all have been so, so helpful. You have put up with me and all my silly questions for three months. Well, get ready for 9 more months of questions!!

Well, I will BBL, I have to call a couple of close frineds...

OMG!!

Congrats SmileyAmy! Couldn't have happened to a nicer girl!

Well, we stayed home this holiday weekend. It was very nice. Got housecleaning done. Getting everything ready to move so we can have new carpet installed and are getting the nursery ready. DH thinks may have thrown out pieces to the crib so we may have to buy another one.

On the pregnancy front, sleeping is the worst. I am soo uncomfortable. I can't roll over easily and then my back gets mad at me. I have been living on Flexall the past few days. Of course having to get up twice a night to pee can't be helping. But physically I am doing well, I have good energy and can still move around well.

The one thing we did do this weekend was go to Glendale Glitters this year. My MIL took our daughter and we went to downtown Glendale. They have the wole downtown lit up and had music, food, vendor booths and all the antique and unique gift shops were open. It was a great date. We ended up eating gyros and sharing a baklava, strolling through the shops and taking in the sights.

Hope everyone is doing well! My next dr. appt is Friday. I can't believe I am already at 32 weeks.

Hi ladies,

CONGRATULATIONS SmileyAmy !!! I haven't been on the forum long and was wondering how long you were TTC?

Anyway, I started some spotting on Wednesday and have been taking it kind of easy the past few days. The doctor is going to try to get me in for an early u/s today since I m/c in August. At the moment, I am thinking the worst and praying for the best. I had 2 HCG tests done over the past couple of days and the numbers were 115,000 on Wed. and 130,000 on Friday. The doctor said they were great numbers and that if he'd none the results from the first test he wouldn't have had me get the second. When I had my m/c my numbers were 12,000 and 13,000 and I was a week further, so this makes me feel better.

Anyone heard from Shelley?

I'll pop back in later, hope all is well with everyone .

I think Mrs. Fertile Myrtle was only on her second month of charting!

I lost my first one in May......this second one has been tough mentally. Have they checked your progesterone as well? I can't tell you not to worry because a miscarriage is very difficult to deal with. By the time you do get pregnant again....you have to be "cautiously optimistic" about everything (as you well know). We are praying for the best for you too. Keep us posted.

YAY, Amy!! WOO HOO!!!!!

We knew you'd get there eventually!

Wow, what a busy weekend...

Friday - Christmas shopping (up at 3:30.. ugh!) then friends came over (you know.. the kind of friends that don't leave?... bed at 1 am.. super ugh!!!!)
Saturday - put up Christmas decorations, more friends over.. but not up so late.
Sunday - agility trial with Caena and she did SOOOO great! We came so close to having a qualifying run and 2nd place on our jumpers run (all jumps.. very fast). I was late calling her off of a tunnel that was set up as a trap, and she took it. Otherwise, her run was absolutely beautiful. Considering what she did a month ago.. crashing through the jumps and completely stressing out on me, it's a 1000% improvement. We had lots of fun.

Only bad thing, after all that running around this weekend, my ankles were SO sore last night, and one really hurts. Almost like I twisted it, but I don't remember injuring it. Must just be from the stress of the weekend. At least I have work to relax it! LOL..

Pregnancy front doing fine here. I still have to post that pic DH took on Thursday, and I'll have to have him take another.. my tummy popped out some more! Must have been all that food from the weekend.

I actually felt the baby move on the OUTside the other day. I had laid down for a quick nap, and it was moving around alot. So just for fun I put my hand on my belly, and I felt it! Only once.. I would have had DH try to feel if I could have felt more. Maybe soon.

I'm so jealous! Still waiting. I 'm heavy, and alot of my weight is in my tummy (prepregnancy) so I have a feeling I am going to be one of those late bloomers when it comes to feeling the little one.

Congrats to you! I know you were a little worried because you went a few days without feeling your baby.

Glad your furbaby had a good weekend - you be careful!

Thanks, Dena. You're post about not feeling the baby every day until later on made me feel much better. I still only feel it if I've been sitting still or laying down.

All you ladies worried about weight getting in the way...don't!! I started this pregnancy at 304 lbs. and I still felt it on the inside, and out. In fact, more so than I have with my son when I was in 240's with him.

Also, while you anticipate the movement now....there'll be a day you'll wish it would sit still LOL. I was just sitting here and my entire stomach moved and hit my computer desk so hard it hurt. Or the classic kick on the bladder and instantly feel you're peeing yourself LOL

So don't worry....there's plenty of fun still to be had!! You'll soon be up all night with the rest of us enjoying the movement

Anyone else have thoughts of "dread" or bad things?
Example....he got up at 4am to let the dog out. Left the sliding glass door open for her to come/go since we were getting up at 5am anyway. I couldn't fall back to sleep because all I could think of was someone coming in and jeopardizing my family. I have thoughts like this more than I'd like to admit....and never did before pregnant.

Anyone else?

Fertile Myrtle...LOL!!

Allibaba ~ This was my 3rd month trying and my second month charting. I used Instead Cups this month and am convinced that helped.

Sorry I am not doing many personals...I am all foggy brained today!

So, my doctor said they don't normally do blood tests - HPT is fine. My first appt is week 7 - Dec. 21st with a nurse practitioner and then another around week 9-10 with my doctor, January 10th. This real, isn't it!! OMG...

I keep laughing...

I called my friends and when they answered the phone, I said "So, how is 8/8/05?" They were all like "What?" I said "Well, it's about 9 months away..." They all got it then.

It will be interesting tonight...I was only with DH for about 5 minutes after finding out before he had to leave for work.

OMG...I am still in shock!!

Thanks everyone!! You are all awesome...you all told me it would happen. And, it did!

Congrats Amy!

I have a question for you all. When should one be concerned about spotting? I'm having some and its light, but I'm terrified it will progress into something heavy (a miscarriage).

DesperateinFL, I'm a paranoid person anyway, especially since dh has been galavanting about with the army and not at home. If my paranoid delusions get any worse, I'll be in trouble, LOL.

Thanks for your first post about feeling the baby.....very encouraging for me!! I'm 5'4 and 220.

Dreading stuff? Who me? The Queen of Worry?

Actually, I am always a worrier...but it is a little different this time being pregnant. And I think it is because I realize I am more absent minded now. If we get 10 miles from home and I see smoke, I immediately think I left something on and burned the house down.

My confidence in my decision making right now is which is why I think I worry/dread more. Make sense?

Welcome to the World of Worry! You are in good hands here. These ladies have helped me through my first miscarriage and all my worries with this second pregnancy. Here are some common reasons to spotting early:

Bleeding in early pregnancy always worrying, but it is suprisingly common. There can be several possible reasons.

In the very early stages of pregnancy, as the fertilised egg implants there can be a day or two of light bleeding. Later, as the placenta embeds in the uterine lining, it causes slight bleeding. Sometimes a woman will experience 'breakthrough' bleeding.

Pregnancy hormones cover up a woman's usual hormonal cycle, but variations in those normal cycles still go on. Some women notice bleeding at around the time they would usually have had a period as a result of this 'background' variation in hormonal levels. And occasionally women will experience a cervical erosion (a softening of the cervix), which can cause bleeding in early pregnancy.

Bleeding can also be associated with a vaginal infection or a polyp (a benign growth) and can also occur after intercourse. Often it's not possible to decide what has actually caused minor bleeding.

It's worth talking to your midwife or doctor about any bleeding in pregnancy. Usually light spotting or dark brown bleeding is not considered a major problem. But fresh bleeding, especially if it's accompanied by pain, needs immediate attention, as it may be the sign of a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy (where the embryo implants in the Fallopian tube rather than the womb) or, in later pregnancy, a problem with the placenta.

Having had some bleeding in early pregnancy, it's natural to feel concerned. Do talk to your midwife. She will be able to check things out for you now and throughout the pregnancy.

I think I'm always paranoid. DH always tells me I worry too much. He used to tease me and put awful thoughts into my head just to torment me.. until he realized how much it upset me and caused me to lose sleep. Now he does the opposite.. tries to calm my worries as much as he can.

Mandy, I think something like 3/4 of women spot during their first trimester (am I right on that number?). All my books said that some spotting is normal, but if accompanied by cramps, talk to your dr. as soon as possible. I'm sure those who have experienced spotting could offer lots more help.

Now you ladies are in for a whole nother set of questions...LOL.

So, is there anything I should avoid while pregnat? Food, drugs, etc?
