PREGNANCY AND LOW CARB
PREGNANCY AND LOW CARB
I met a gal on another low carb website that has been on induction for about a year. She has lost almost 100 pounds and just found out she's pregnant. She has posted a few questions on that website asking if it is okay for her to continue low carb while pregnant. I didn't really know the answer to this and she wasn't getting any replies so I guess not alot of other people know the answer either. I told her that there were alot of people on this website who knew their stuff and told her I'd check into it for her. Her main questions are: Is Ketosis safe for her baby? Can she eat lower carb - without being in Ketosis (like adding some fruits, veggies, milk, low carb bread) and manage to not gain alot of her weight back? Also, I heard malitol is not good for the baby. Is this true? She eats the low carb candy and bars so is wondering if she should cut those out too. If anybody has any info, please let me know so I can pass it on. Thanks! Chi 330/190/165 |
