Michelle ~ Sorry to hear about all the drama at work, I will back what someone said about documenting everything. I was in a similar situation and kept a Journal that was invaluable when my lawyer had to sue them (talking to a lawyer is a good idea) if you want to email me I will tell you all the dirt on my incident.

JenP ~ Hope you are enjoying your new home, I loved remodeling and making everything "mine" sorry to hear the guy before was such a slob... eeewwww gross!! Congratulations on the girl! You can send all the princess dust you want my way!!

Martha ~ How is everything across the lake?? Glad to read that you have not had anymore appliance horror stories!! Any luck with the garland?? Need me to send you some??!!

Hello to LizzyD, Vixen, mom2twoboys, Strawberry, Shandril, KarateJen, Christina, Dierdre, Heather, Suzanne and anyone else that I have missed!!

Welcome to all the new faces on the board!!

Well last week was not fun at all still sick, between the nausea, the puking and the migraines my first trimester has been pretty awful... isn't it supposed to go away soon??!! For anyone that was wondering I did not throw up on the wonderful lady that did my u/s on Monday. It was SO completely amazing. Littleone was showing off, she said she had not seen a 12 week baby that active in a LONG time. She (hoping) stretched her arms/hands & legs, you could see all the tiny little bones in her hands & feet. Jumped up and down a few times and did side rolls, guess she wanted us to see all of her. Got a bunch of pics that I will post a couple of. One of them is kinda weird because it looks like she has her Halloween mask on. Our "big" u/s is on the 13th of December, but we may go in and do a 3D one for our 8 year anniversary on the 7th. I did start felling a bit better Friday witch was a good thing because my mom got into town Thursday night. And I wasn’t going to tell her until that night. David had to sneak me in a banana to our room because my mom would have known something was up if she saw me eating that early!! My mom and I went to see John Edward Friday night in SF, that was pretty amazing. We had a good day of shopping in the City and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, yummy (and it didn’t make a comeback!). I gave her the grandmas brag book right after with the u/s pics in it. Its weird actually being able to tell people now, in the morning (Monday) all my friends are getting together for our monthly tea and I am going to wear my "Knocked Up" shirt that I made to let them all know. Hopefully the m/s that reared its head again today will go away for good soon!! Well I am off to bed!!

Nothing much going on here. Spent the weekend with the inlaws. Had a pretty good time, and even Hank's sister and her family showed up, including his niece and her two little ones. (SIL is quite a bit older than us... So his niece and nephews are more like cousins...)

Although, I don't think anyone seems to like our boy name... Ah well. Can't please them all the time, can you? (Well, his niece seemed to like it, but nobody else, really...)

Beautiful weather, my butt!!! 30's at night, high in the 60's.. I was freezing!!!! It was cloudy and rainy, too. Oh, well.. not like it made a difference. I was stuck in a hotel the whole time, anyways.

I hope everyone did well while I was AWOL. I feel fine, just wondering when I'll feel the baby. I also feel like all I've been doing is eating. Eating, sit in a meeting, eat some more, sit some more...

Anyways, very busy catching up on work. Very stressed.. money is quite low and getting a little desperate about that. Oh, well...

Also, one more thing.. saw you guys mentioned the men getting + tests. Well, one of the testosterone treatments is hCG supplements... so perhaps it's something men have naturally? I don't know, just a thought!

I feel sort of selfish. Sorry guys! Rascall Flatts was awesome!! They put on a great show. So I assume you mean you met my DH, Tim McGraw 3 times!?!?! He is so beautiful...and his music is awesome! It took a while for his new album to grow on me but I love it now! That must be so exciting to tell your family and friends. That is cute - about the tee shirt you made. You will have to tell us what their reaction was. I can't wait to be able to tell people. All my friends are waiting for the news...hopefully I will have some soon! *crossing my fingers*

I have actually thought of joining Las Madres if we continue to travel down there. Have you looked into it?

Jefinner~I'm sorry about your family's reaction to your boy name. Did you divulge it to us? It is so hard not to share, because you want feedback, and then if its negative you wish you never said anything. I gave my DH a list of my "top 40", and he chose a name NOT on the list: his brother's daughter's name! I like it, but don't feel right using it.

Chels, glad you're OK. Great U/S pics! Sorry to hear about your m/s, though. It seems like my dream of a beautifully decorated American Christmas home is going up in smoke. There is artifical garland available, but it doesn't look that great, and only comes in 6 foot lengths, which cost about $15 each, and I'll need *calculating* 38 of those, costing about $575!!! I don't think so...I wonder if it would look OK to just place some greens and lights along the window sill?

It’s okay… I knew it was one that wouldn’t go over well anyway. It was the boy name we’d chosen when I was pregnant with Anna. No biggie. First, it’s a long name. Ezra David Weston (last name). Usually, the reaction is either “EZRA???” or “Why three names?” It’s not like it’s terribly unusual to use three names anyway. Plus, I’m pretty stubborn about boy names. There aren’t many that I do like, and the ones I like have become very popular lately. Of course, I’m just going to let Hank tell everyone the name… He’ll lie and say something ridiculous like Elrod Tiberius or something… LOL! I do already tell them the girl name will be Terracotta Monet or with a straight face, “Conventional Wisdom”. LOL!

The girl name isn’t too popular either, but ah well! I love the name. (We’re not quite settled on it, but I think we almost are…) Josephine Helena. I’ve always loved the name, but with Allison… I let people talk me out of the name. With Anna, Hank wanted to name her after his great grandma, so I gave in. (As her middle name is Vista, and that’s after my grandma.)

I might have to bite my tongue hard, but I’m telling you… When I hear what people name their children (unless they ask for my honest opinion), I just keep my mouth shut, or say, “Cool!”.

Okay… I’ve gone on about the silly name issue, and now I have to get back to work – LOL!

Josephine was on my "short list" of 40! I do love that name, plus there are family connection. When I told BIL we would call her "Josie" for short though, he said, "Oh, like the 'Outlaw Josie Wales'", after the Clint Eastwood movie. Grrr...

I just had to add that DH asked me last night if he is supposed to get me a piece of jewelry or something after the baby is born. I told him a diamond tennis bracelet is customary (said with a straight face) or something with the baby's birthstone. He said, "Oh, okay", and looked worried. Now I don't know whether to tell him I was kidding about the bracelet (I'm not really a jewelry person) or see what happens. One of his friends or co-workers must have mentioned this, as he wouldn't come up with it on his own.

Has anyone thought about this?

When I was pregnant with Allison, everyone told me that it was an old lady name… LOL! But it’s funny to me now (9 years later), because all of the old names are coming back. (I haven’t seen Josephine on the top 100 list, but I’ll keep checking.) I would also call her Josie.

As for Helena… MIL’s middle name is Helen. So, it’s a version of the name that I like. And Hank loves his momma (LOL), so he’s up for it too.

Jefinner~That is pretty funny that your DH tells everyone made up names. My DH was doing that for a while. At first our son was going to be name Forrest Gump (last name) and then it was Stonewall Jackson (last name) (we'd call him Stoney, of course).

We have managed to narrow our choices to two. And we are not any closer to picking one over the other. DH was so cute last night. He was talking to my belly and calling it Murphy. I told him, why don't you try out Archie as well. He said that he couldn't as it might confuse the baby. Silly, silly man!

I lurk everyday, even though I don't post much. At 37 weeks, there isn't much to tell. Everything is uncomfortable and not much is going to relieve it except to get this baby out. It is a waiting game at this point.

Ames~you were on my mind last night as I lay in bed and longed for sleep to come. I kept thinking about your casserole marathon. I know absolutely nothing about making food in advance and freezing it. I am always unsure what is the proper way to defrost it and how long it will keep in the freezer. Would you mind sharing that? I was also wondering if you would share some of your favorite casseroles. I can cook and would love to try some new things, for now and to freeze for after the baby comes.

Hey Darlene, Marthad and Ames!!!

I'm fine.....nothing to report. I'm still dealing with really oily skin, shortness of breath and fatigue. I'm very careful about what to avoid as far as eating.....don't want to deal with those horrible gas pains again. I feel great when I am awake. I don't have much of an appetite......oh, and I didn't gain any weight between my 9 week and 14 week appointment....I can't remember where I started, but I don't think I gained more than 5 pounds the first trimester.

You should see our "coming home" outfit. We haven't bought it yet.....but it will be a stocking cap with Buzz and a "I'm a Little Jacket" shirt with Buzz socks.

Happy Monday.

I've been so busy this past week I haven't had time to post. I have kept up with everyone and sounds like everyone is moving right along.

I had my first appointment with the prenatal nurse this past Friday. I was really looking forward to it but it was somewhat of a disappointment. I guess the nurse figured that I had done this before so she could hurry me along. She asked the bare minimum of questions and gave me a bag of information sheets and magazines. I expressed concern with my leg (bad bad varicose) my iron (always low) and my weight (higher starting out with this one) and the nurse just told me to do yoga. That was her whole answer. I just wish it was that easy!

The MS has taken hold but has not been unbearable. I've been eating crazy food but I don't have much of an appetite. I'm trying to not gain anything the first trimester and so far I'm OK with that. Of course its still very very early! Now I get to look forward to my ultrasound on the 24th and then telling my mom and dad! I won't tell the kids until I get to 12 weeks.

I second the request for casserole recipes!

Unfortunately, the rat caps were never really trends. They were worn by all freshman many many moons ago. Then I think they were phased out in the 60's. But for some reason the band decided to keep the tradition alive, but they were available for sale at the bookstore to anyone who wanted one. Some non-band freshman bought them just to wear at the games. Someday, if I can remember I will take a pic of mine. There were certain rules to decorating it and it is quite a piece of memorbilia now. I would tell you to look in the 92-23 yearbook for a pic of me in mine, but I think your DH came to Tech after that (right?).

I bet your baby will look so cute in all your Tech stuff. I remember you posting a pic of your mobile last spring. It was really neat looking.

DH said the same thing (about not being trendy).....I couldn't find a better way to put it.

He graduated in 99.

I asked DH if we were going to let our child say the "good word(s)", and he said as long as it was at a football game.

AngelHope may be lurking, so I have to be careful, but for those who don't know - the "good word" is "To H@ll with Georgia", Tech's biggest rival. All in good fun!
