Good morning ladies!
allibaba! It's great to see you on the list GoJackets! Hi GetNSlim. If you will be 33 weeks Friday that means you are in your 33rd week now. Hope that made sense. You, supportinghubby, and DesperateInFL are all almost exactly a week apart from each other, so it doesn't make sense if DesperateInFL is W31 and you are W32 if you are two weeks apart. ![]() Boy, I'm gonna stay away from the salt tonight. I ate quite a bit of colby cheese last night and now my fingers feel like sausages, my feet are stiff and my face feels puffy, ugh! I have a doula coming to visit with me and my husband today. She sounds really nice and I agree with her principles so hopefully she'll be a keeper! I'll let ya'll know how that turns out.Well, I'm off to tidy up the house. I didn't do nothing but sit on my butt with a cat on my lap last night watching the election coverage. I didn't even get to bed till after President Bush's victory speech early in the afternoon....just had to have closure to the whole thing. I'm a little disappointed that my state went for Kerry...but it was close with 51 to 49%. Oh well, I'm just glad it's not a repeat from 2000. I have to say it was noble of Kerry to concede as he did...I've gained a lot of respect for him because of it. Everyone have a great day! Ames |

Good Morning Ladies.
ames....hope that swelling goes down. Drink a ton of water and flush it out before you go to bed and hopefully you won't be up peein' all night. Hubby got the impression last night at the "trial" of his new job that he has the job!! All the guys were asking him what shift he'd be working and he just kinda' looked at them strangely. When he goes tonight, the hiring supervisor is supposed to be there to discuss things with him so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. He is hoping to get the night shift (day shift is virtually impossible) so that we can still have evenings together. I just hate sleeping alone Baby-wise....anyone else in their third trimester go through a period where sleep just isn't important? Used to be the minute I sat down I was zonked or napping....now I'm finding myself up until almost midnight and waking before my alarm goes off at 5am with no problem. I'm wondering if it's because it's finally cooling off here and I'm not so drained. Who knows....I'm taking advantage of it tonight to clean out closets (at least I say that now). Have a great Thursday everyone!! |

Hi!!!!!
I haven't checked in for a long time! I'm trying to read some old posts to get caught up on everyone! DENA - I am so excited for you - and really excited that you can start enjoying this pregnancy stuff! Just wait until you start feeling him or her move - it provides so much reassurance and thrill!Smiley - Check in when you can! Oh - and I actually think I may have gotten pregnant AT my parent's house in NJ, in my childhood room!!!!!!! When you are TTC, you gotta do what you gotta do, right??? :-) Ames - GL with the Doula, I am interested to see how it turns out. I have considered it too, I guess I should maybe get on the ball when it comes to figuring out what I want to do for a birth plan period! Sarah - I can't believe you are so close to meeting your baby boy! I remember when we were on the TRYING list together!!! Back then there were only about 3 or 4 of us! Desp - Sounds like you aren't requiring much sleep! I have heard that 3rd trimester Mommy's don't sleep because they can't get comfy, but it sounds like you just aren't tired! Take advantage of it while you can! Maybe it is your body's way of preparing you for life with a newborn! Hi to Jefinner, Dar, Madame, Martha...and everyone else who checks in after me! I am doing well. I had some weird pressure/pain in my lower abdomen last night, but its gone now. I think maybe it was gas and/or constipation. I was nervous for a bit that it might be a bladder infection or something. I drank a ton of water last night too, I'm not sure if that helps, but it made me feel like I was doing something proactive!! DH and I are slowly cleaning our new house. I can't even describe to you how disgustingly dirty it is! The man who lived there should most definitely be embarassed! I cleaned the kitchen for 3 hours on Monday, so we made our first meal at the house last night - only to then discover that when we opened the dishwasher, it was full of water and smelled HORRIBLE! Luckily, we have a home warranty, so I think DH is just going to call someone to look at it - we are just too busy with other things to try to do it ourselves. The joys of home ownership!! Well, I had better get some work done! I'll check back later!

Hi ladies,
Nothing new here. I just came home from a Thanksgiving luncheon at the embassy, and am now ready for a nap! Part food coma, I'm sure! But now I have to start making something for hubby's dinner. Is anyone else having trouble cooking? I usually cook all the time, but lately it just seems like soooo much work! And raw meat is rather difficult to handle. Hubby is tired of cheese based dishes...on that note, I think I'll make a quiche! Ames, good luck with a doula. I finally got a name and contacted her. She hasn't gotten back to me yet, though. Do you have any interview plans? Michelle, I'm only in the second trimester, but laying awake for a few hours between 2 and 6 am is pretty common for me....Everyone keeps telling me to sleeeeeep though! Guess I should try to get as much as I can...while I can. Smiley, some of the best sex I've had was one time when I had to be quiet because my brother was in the next room. It was so intimate, instead of making noise, I was able to focus on feeling everything, and looking in my hubby's eyes.Hi JennP! Oh, I think I had some round ligament pain this morning, it seems to happen when I roll over in bed too quickly or without paying attention. Does this happen to anyone else? Hugs to everyone I missed! |

Hi Ladies,
I agree, I'm trying to put this whole election thing behind me and move on. Kinda hard when it's covered on EVERY channel it seems (and we have like 600 channels ).I still feel kind of "hung over", my DH is out of town so I fell asleep in front of the TV again, I wonder if that has something to do with it. Also, I have been craving sushi like crazy (the cooked rolls), and I have it every day I can! Ames~I agree to drink lots of water! I can relate to the salt overload, (see sushi confession above). I had sushi for lunch and then a Red Baron LC mini pizza for dinner. The pizza was good, but it was almost too salty for ME, and I am a salt-o-holic. Hey, ask your doula for suggestions. I hope you like her! I can't find one in this state. Michelle~I hope your DH gets the job, it sounds like he will! Then you'll be on Ames' schedule! I sleep well on nights when DH is not here, because I sleep right in the middle of the bed, very comfortable. I went through a period of needing little sleep, but it sure passed this week, LOL! Jenn~Yuck, I'm sorry about your dishwasher! Was the guy you bought the house from elderly? I agree you should call the plumber, who knows what's in there. In no time your house will be just the way you want it. Martha~Yep, sounds like round ligament pain. It hurts, doesn't it? Good thing it only lasts a second! I got it while rolling over in bed, or getting up quickly. My DH lost weight too while I was in the first tri and couldn't stand to cook, especially meat (his favorite). He does not cook AT ALL, so he just ate nuts when he was hungry. Quiche sounds good! How about meatloaf? Then he can have it for a few days and you can have something else. I have a meeting this morning, BBL... Kelley

Good morning ladies! Well, I just got into work and already I feel exhausted. That isn't a good sign... *sigh* I've been having trouble sleeping again. It's weird, I sleep, but I feel like I'm half awake. My mind seems to be going a million miles an hour and I have to consciously tell myself to stop thinking about everything and try to relax. Plus, the baby keeps dropping, so I'm up every 45 minutes to an hour to pee... ALL NIGHT LONG... Atleast I'm in the home stretch...
Ames: I hear ya on the swelling. I have it too. Sucks huh? Drink lots of water today and hopefully it will flush your system. Michelle: that your hubby gets the job!! And I have been nothing but exhausted since I got into my 3rd trimester. I wish I wasn't tired! Lucky you!! ![]() JennP: I'm glad you are doing okay! Sounds like you are super busy with your house. Sorry it was so dirty!! I hope your dishwasher is an easy fix. Martha: I had that pain you are describing. I'd stand up to quickly and about double over in pain. You are just stretching out. ![]() Kelley: Your body is probably just worn out. Take is easy and get some more rest if you can. ![]() |

at the thought of my hands in ground beef. But I am planning to make a big batch of taco salad so he can have that...I think it's easier if I don't actually have to touch the meat! LOL But, sushi still sounds good! That's one of the things I miss most...I think the first thing I'm going for when baby is born is a big plate of uni (sea urchin). Is sushi/sashimi ok when you're nursing? Shoot, now I want yellowtail with creamy spicey sauce! I miss NYC!!Hi Sarah! |

Hi Ladies,
Just checking in, I'll try to return later for personals. Very busy day at work unfortunately. It seems the morning sickness is really setting in. This morning I actually gagged and I'm still feeling a bit queasy. I ate a few ginger snaps while driving in and I just had some hot cocoa. Hopefully things will improve as the day goes on. Ugh! Plus it's raining here so I just want to crawl back in bed. First sonogram for this pregnancy is Monday. I'm getting a little nervous :-/ More later... hope everyone is doing well! ((Hugs)) Meg

Good mornings, ladies!! Still struggling with personal issues here...so I'm fighting depression. I don't think it helps that I am pregnant. Anway...
Ames- Okay...they said at the doctor yesterday that I was 32 weeks and 4 days...so I guess however you want to calculate that it is fine!! I basically have 7 weeks left!!! I can't believe it! Hope your swelling goes down. DIF-I hope your hubby gets the job!! I know what you mean about sleeping alone. Since my hubby has been working out of town I let my almost 3 yr. old daughter sleep with me! I know, it is a bad habbit to get her in, but I can't stand not feeling a warm body next to me! Jenn-Wow, sounds like you have a big project on your hands!! Good luck!! Marthad-Ewww...raw fish!! I can't actually say that I have ever tasted it, but there is just something about looking at it and that raw slimy stuff going down your throat. Ugh!! Gives me the shivers thinking about it!! Wouldn't it be wierd if I tried it and liked it?!?LOL Madame-Hopefully you can get the election put behind you...it would be hard to have the nominee you wanted to win not...I haven't had that happen. Miss Gig-Hope the m/s gets better!! Go Jackets-I can't say exactly when it kicked it. All I know is I wish I still had it now!!LOL Hello to all who come in later!! I'll be back. |

One more thing I discovered......if you have a lot of work to do....wait until you have a day that you are less busy to tell your cowokers that you are pregnant.....they have been lined up today to give me advice.

Good morning everyone! Thought I would just drop in and say hi.
I have a question, I know that you can't avoid getting stretch marks, but has anyone used anything keep them from getting really bad? I have some small stretch marks from my son and I really don't want them to get much bigger. Anyone have any luck with anything? Thanks in advance! Miss Gigl~ Good luck on your sonogram. I know the wait is always difficult. As for me, I feel fine. I have nausea in the morning and some pulling in my stomach and sore breasts but that is it. My energy level is great so far. I am sure that will all change in the next few weeks. SmileyAmy~ How are things going? Did you AF ever end up being normal? I will keep you in my thoughts. |

AZ: I have stretchmarks. I went out and bought Palmers Cocoa Butter Stretchmark cream. I didn't do anything other than relieve my skin if it was feeling tight or itchy. There really is no cream that will prevent marks... either you get them, or you don't, unfortunately.

AZ ~ AF was funny this month. I really only had it for a day and a half, but that half a day, it was REALLY heavy. It was really light/spotting the rest of the time. Jenn ~ I don’t know about it being more intimate. I am going to be SO paranoid that she is going to hear me! Not to mention that I have to use a “toy” to “finish” and it isn’t exactly quiet. I mean it doesn’t sound like a jackhammer or anything, but if she was in the next room – which all of the rooms are – she would probably hear it. What the H E Double Hockey Stick and I am going to do? Well, BBL for personals – way later. Ta, ta for now!

Good Morning or should I say afternoon!...lol Thanks for all the welcomes, I'm so use to just lurking that sometime I forget to post
.AZ~~I've been using shea butter from bath and body and vitamin e oil I'm not sure if it will work but I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed! but like sarah said you either get them or you dont but I do think the butter and oil will help with the severity of them. Martha~~Just when I wasnt thinking about Sushi!! It has been really the only thing I've craved since being pregnant, well okay that and peanut butter but my husband hid that on me and I'm yet to find it!! Gojackets~~I was extremely tired my first trimester and some in the second but we found out at my last doctors visit that my iron was low so they gave me a new prenatal and some iron pills and it has made a huge difference! Ames~~Thank you so much for putting my name up! wow 19wks I can't believe it and here I thought I was going to be pregnant forever... I'm sure I'll get that feeling again in the last few weeks.LOL Thanks again!! hope your sausage fingers go away! |

Holy Moly! Is that really me at the top of the 2nd T list?
![]() I'm just stopping in to let you all know that I'm still here. I lurk periodically. I used to lurk more, but I feel bad for even *lurking* on LCF boards because I'm soooooo not low-carbing. I gave myself permission while I was sick all the time to eat whatever would stay down. Then I gave myself permission for a little celebratory eating when ms was gone... that was at least 2 months ago... I'm still celebrating. The sad thing is, I really don't even want to try to eat right. <sigh>Congrats to all the new mommies!!!!
