Good morning ladies!

Congratulations Lizzyd!

Boy, did my pregnancy brain kick in bad yesterday at the end of my shift. We had an emergency drill for a mock accident in Narita, Japan. My job was to collect all the weather data we use from the last 12 hours before the accident supposedly occured. Of course the minute I tried to do that I got a bunch of phone calls for other stuff that took priority. I was lucky to get my shift done on time...but then my relief showed up 10 minutes late! I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home. Boy did I feel lost and spacey! By the time I got home I was just a zombie...my brain was mush...I just sat on the couch in a daze for about an hour before I could do anything constructive...I don't even remember what I watched on TV that whole time! I have to say I slept pretty darn good though today and my head feels clear again. I wonder what kind of goofy stuff I did yesterday since I seemed so out of it!

Well, everyone have a nice Friday...this is only Wednesday for me....gotta work 3 more after tonight...but then I get 4 whole nights off! I hope I get a lot done and not be a bum the whole time! I'll check back later on.

Ames

Hi everyone,

Kelley, thanks for the tip on Unisom, she said absolutely no sleeping pills were OK by her, but I'll look into it...maybe I should call my old doctor in Greenwich...

Dar, she also said No to Tylenol PM, I even showed her the bottle...

Well, last night I actually fainted! I was at this gathering of American women, and there were about 60 of us in a rather large appartment. I had been trying to leave for about 45 minutes to pick up my hubby, but was having fun chatting with new people and some friends. I was on my way to the door finally, when I got really hot and had to go to the window for some fresh air. I opened the window and sat on the ledge, the next thing I knew this tingling feeling washed all over me and I was on the floor. I think I must have just gotten a bit overheated. Has anyone experienced this? I wonder if I should call my doctor...especially considering the headaches too...

Lizzy, congrats! Henry Stewart is a great name!

I'll try to check back later, if not have a great weekend everyone! Tomorrow is our 1 year anniversary

Hi Girls!

Congrats LIzzy! and Welcome Henry!!

Martha - How scary! I have never fainted, so I don't know what its like. How long were you "out"? I'm glad you didn't fall out of the window...You should definitely call your midwife, just to be safe.

Ames - I have had plenty of fogging moments, well, I say moments, but they have lasted all night before too. Sometimes work takes every last bit of brain power I have. I have locked my keys in the trunk, gone out to check the mail and forgotten when I got outside why I went outside, etc. Its really funny to DH because before this pregnancy, I was annoyingly on top of things, and I have a memory that any husband would dread...:-) But, now, I am lucky if I remember we HAVE a cat, let alone feed her!

I'll check back in later! Thanks to all for the recommendations for my "rash" or chafing or whatever it is under my underwire. I've worn a ratty old sportsbra for two days, and am using powder, and the redness and itchiness has gone down...so, we'll see.

I dreamt that I had a baby girl last night. Which is so funny because I am convinced that I am having a boy. Not that I care either way, but I was surprised to have dreamt about a girl. Of course, I gave birth to her at 22 weeks in the middle of the street with friends...so obviously it was a weird dream anyway.

Happy Friday!!

Hello Everyone! I feel bad about your foggy brain, but I am happy to hear I am not the only one!
Martha you need to call your doc/midwife, they may want to keep a closer eye on your blood pressure!
If I don't check back I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Friday everyone!! I am SO tired! I could just close my eyes and go to sleep right now. Plus my stomache hurts a little. Well, TOM is due either today or tomorrow. We shall see. I keep stopping to see if I feel crampy. My temps rose again today. Not sure what that means??

Ames ~ Sorry you were so foggy brained yesterday. I am not even pregnant I feel foggy brained a lot. At least you have an excuse. What's mine?

Martha ~ If I were you, I would be calling my doctor. I had a friend who just had a baby and she was getting headaches and started feeling faint a lot and it turned out that the baby was sort of sitting on a major vessel and at times the blood flow was affected although you may be too early in your pregnancy for that. My friend was pretty far along.

Jenn ~ Glad your rash is better. I have to use baby powder a lot during the summer. I get horrible heat rash. That is funny about the dream. Are you finding out what you are having? Will be funny to see if your dream is true.

Hi mom2twoboys!

MARTHA!!! Yes, call your doc. Even if it's nothing, you need to know.

AMES - I want to warn you... Preggo brain stick with you after the baby gets here too! LOL!

JENN - That is a weird dream - LOL! Well, only time will tell what you're going to have. I did the opposite. I'm convinced I'm having another girl, but I dreamed that I had a boy.

AMY - I'm hoping TOM does NOT rear his ugly head for you!

HOLA MOM2, DAR, & MEGAN!

I actually did well with my eating last night. I wanted ramen noodles so bad. (WTH???) Then I wanted cabbage, so I made some cole slaw (it was SF)... So, not bad.

HI again,

Finally got the results of my blood work back. At 15 dpo (one day after TOM due) HCG was 193 and progesterone was 28.98. OB says these are both in normal range so so far so good.

Jefinner: OMG with my last pregnancy I sooo craved ramen noodles. LOL!

MarthaD: Happy anniversary!!! Sorry to hear about the fainting. I would check in with the doctor on that one.

Jenn: Too funny on the dream. Pregnancy dreams are such a riot. I've been thinking about keeping a dream journal. Last time I had some real whoppers.

Ames: sounds like you have a somewhat stressful job. hang in there until your "weekend". Hope time flies for you.

Greetings everyone else...

Back later

It's cool to see someone else's numbers......my doctor tells me numbers but I don't know what they mean. When she tested my blood at 7 weeks and said she would have liked to have seen my progesterone at 30 (which is along what you tested), but mine was 17 and that is when she decided to put me on the supplements. I don't know what my HCG was though.

Jefinner - every time I see Jennifer, I have to look to see if it is spelled correctly! Thanks for giving me dyslexia!

Jen - I'm sorry if I already asked this, when will you find out the sex of the baby?

Martha - in the old days when a woman fainted, everyone knew she was pregnant!!!

Mom2Two boys, Darlene, Smiley, Ames - Hello!!!!

I had my mind so set that this month wasn't going to be the month so I haven't really been stressing much. Now that my temps are rising and I had a dip after my 3 high temps after ovulation, I am starting to freak again. I don't want to get my hopes up, because like I said, I have never been late. I usually get it either Friday or Saturday. We shall see...

Good morning ladies! TGIF!!

We're heading out for our last weekend of camping tonight. I'm looking forward to it, although I hope I can get some sleep. My husband is going elk hunting and I'll hang at camp with my parents. It should be nice and relaxing. But it'll be COLD! Thank goodness we have camp trailers with heaters.

Ames: I'm glad you're feeling better today!

Martha: My doctor also recommended Unisom caplets. He said they have used them for years with patients with no adverse affects at all. I've been taking them a few times a week and they make such a difference!

JennP: I'm glad your rash is better. That must be so uncomfortable!

mom2two, Dar, ang Meg: Hi!!

Smiley: High temps are a good sign!! Usually your temps will fall right before TOM starts. If your temp goes up, and stays up that is a very good sign. If you are pregnant, your temperature will stay up throughout your pregnancy.

Jenn: Mmmm... love Ramen!!!

Today my stomache hurts a little and I feel crampy, not really TOM crampy and it is just slight. I also have been eating like a ravenous animal all week. I have been exhausted all week, but that is probably because of the playoffs - although I was only up about 45 minutes past my regular bed time. I don't want to grasp for anything that is really far out there...that is what I did last month and then was bummed.

About an hour and a half. So not too far. If I were to get into a big emergency there's a hospital just down the road.

Happy Friday Mommies ~

Ames ~ I'm sad to admit it, but my preggy-brain is getting pretty bad, too! My main problem is forgetting things. I was talking to DH on the phone the other day & he asked me if I had remembered to do something & of course I had forgot. I went through this whole spiel about how I really had to start writing things down, etc. Of course, not 2 hours later I'm relating the conversation to my sister & I couldn't even remember what he had asked me about that I had forgot to do! So I had to call him & say, "What was that you had asked me about earlier today? I already forgot (& of course I didn't write it down!)"

Martha ~ How scary about the fainting! You should definately call your doctor about it, just to be safe. Happy anniversary tomorrow!

JennP ~ Glad your rash is doing better. So, are you going to have an u/s & find out the sex of the baby?

Mom2Boys ~ Hi!

SAmy ~ Your chart is still looking good! I agree with Meg, I'd take bets that TOM will not be showing up this weekend!

Dar ~ Hi!

Jefinner ~ Mmm...Ramen noodles! I had such an intense craving for them one day several weeks ago in Wal-Mart that I bought them & brought them right home & cooked them! Unfortunatly, they didn't agree with me so I won't be eating any more of them! Too bad, because I really used to love them when I was a kid!

Meg ~ Yay for good labwork! There must be something about those Ramen noodles that appeals to the preggos!

Dena ~ Hi!

Sarah ~ Have a good camping trip!

Good Morning!
Well, I only gained alf a pound this week. I was gaining at 2-3 pounds per week there for awhile and was getting worried. I have tried to watch what I eat, but had some Halloween Oreos last night (they were for the trick-or-treaters). Those little bags only had five MINI Oreos each! Oh, well, I need to be rationed. I haven't had an Oreo since starting LC fourteen months ago!

My DH left the freezer door slightly ajar last night, and I went to get some ice cream and it was all melted. SO, I checked the fridge~the temp was 50 degrees! If I was not PG, I would not worry, but I am so paranoid about food poisoning now, I think I will throw everything away. Am I overreacting? I had just bought several pounds of nice chicken breasts at Costco (the individually wrapped ones). The eggs I don't worry about too much, since in France they didn't refrigerate those at all. On another board I frequent, there has been so much hype about listeria, and they say to not even eat leftovers more than 12 hours old! Plus, microwaving lunchmeat, etc...

Ames and Emily~All I can say is make lists and invest in post-it notes! PG brain is a real phenomenon, LOL. I will ask my DH about something, we'll have a deep discussion, then I'll ask him about it again in an hour or two, as if I had never heard his answer.

Martha~I agree to tell your doc you fainted, but Dena's right, weren't PG ladies always fainting in movies and literature? Try and get some Unisom from the States (the pills, not the gelcaps). Then take a half to start with. I wouldn't feel bad about it at all!

Meg~Those test results sound GREAT for 15 DPO!

Smiley, I agree with the others, I bet AF ain't comin' today (or tomorow). You're 5 DPO, so I say consider testing at 12 DPO (next Friday if no AF).

Sarah~Have fun camping! Stay warm!

Dena~How much longer on the progesterone for you?

JennP~I have crazy dreams about delivery too! They are usually that I go to the hospital ready to deliver, get a room, etc., then look down and realize I'm not that far along and not ready, so I go home in defeat. The doctors are usually male and gorgeous. I used to get those dreams even before I was PG!

Jeffiner~I haven't had Ramen in ten years! Now that you put the idea in my head though...

Hi Mom2Two and Dar!

Congrats on controlling your weight!!!

I probably could come off of the progesterone now since I am past 12 weeks, BUT my appointment isn't for 11 more days.....I guess I could call, but I figured they would tell me to wait until the dr. can see me and she's on vacation........

Short version: I'm hoping 11 more days!

I know - weird dreams!

Dena - I find out the baby's sex (as long as he or she wants me to) on Thursday! I can't wait! I will be 20 weeks 4 days then. Oh - and I saw your post about the progesterone and being past 12 weeks and still on it. My doc told me that we can't "OD" on progesterone - our body will take what it needs from the supplement and no more, so if your body has started to produce enough now, it will simply stop taking from your supplement. SO - its really OK to be on it until your next appointment, when your doc can officially tell you to stop. I actually noticed (TMI...) that the last week or so that I was on it, I had a lot more residual discharge from it than I did in the beginning, so I think my body quit using it up!

Madame - congrats on the weight gain! I ate about half a package of those reverse oreos a few weekends ago! You did much better than me. I am freaking out about listeria too - because I eat a lot of lunchmeat, and did until about 2-3 weeks ago. I thought listeria was just soft cheese and old leftovers, I didn't know about lunchmeat until recently. Are there any symptoms??? If I were you, I would toss the really perishable stuff - but that really stinks to waste the food and money!!!! Maybe you can cook it and make hubby eat it all, since he left the freezer door open! :-)

Sarah - Have fun camping! I will be packing and organizing for our big move this weekend. Plus, do grad school homework. I am looking forward to not having any place to be.

Hey to everyone I missed!!

LOL Jenn, I think I will give the chicken to my parents with fair warning. I kind of hate to perpetuate the listeria hype that ladies are going through on the other board, since it has been heated, but I have given up cold lunchmeat (and since I don't bother to heat it, I just don't eat it...I have fresh egg salad or peanut butter), and I still have hot dogs but I microwave them till steaming (like who eats a cold hotdog anyway?). I don't have smoked salmon or unpasteurised cheeses. Believe me, those gooey French cheeses sound soooo good to me now! Listeria is especially bad for babies, since it does cross the placenta. You can have it and not really know you are sick, or just have really mild symptoms, but it can cause serious harm to the baby. That's why I am so cautious, because I am such a worrier anyway, all I need is NO SYMPTOMS to worry about! I almost got the impression that getting salmonella was better than listeria.

Overall, most of the women on the other board continue to eat cold lunchmeats regularly, and have had no problems. Here are a couple websites (the first is kind of alarmist, but make your own decision):

I still eat sandwiches or wraps with cold lunchmeats. If I didn't, I wouldn't get my protein from anywhere! My doc said that as long as the deli is clean and reputable, not to worry.

Martha, how scary about the fainting! Let us know what the doc says, but it sounds like you overheated.
The dermatologist said I have a 'classic case of eczema'. Good news.. I have a diagnosis. Bad news.. I can't do anything about it other than I'm already doing.. use my cream and keep my skin hydrated. Oh, well.

I'm so exhausted from staying up late watching baseball. And there's another week to look forward to! Bummer is I'll be in Atlanta for 3 evenings... and there's a game each night! And I'll be busy, so it's not like I can watch!

Wow, this week flew by and I'm so glad it did. It was SO hectic, but it's almost done!!!! We just had our office bridal shower for a co-worker that I put together. It went fine, but I didn't need the extra stress!

MadameX...good goin on the little weight gain Sorry to hear about the food. If you feel you need to throw it out, by all means do so even though it sucks.

HI to everyone else who's popped in

Had a good day today...got to see my clients that I'm not allowed to be on their floor today. We had a large function outside and it was so great to see my little old men again!! Man have I missed being with them. They all were touching my stomach and asking "Is it mine??" (mind you they all have dementia of some sort). It was very cute!!

We've been graced at work with 2 bald eagles nesting on our cable tower. It was a great sight today as they both circled and landed above us several times. Not everyday you see something like that in such a city area!!

As I was leaving today a bunch of my coworkers were clocking out with me and one noticed a bulge moving over my stomach. Turns out to be a foot or elbow and suddenly I had about 10 pairs of hands on me LOL. Glad I don't mind.

wOOt...we get our new couch tonight!! I cannot wait! Buh bye forever futon....bleck. I even rented 6 movies LOL....so you know what I'll be doing this weekend!
