Good morning ladies!

*Sigh* Not much going on around here. Still didn't sleep real well again today....maybe tomorrow.

Forgot to tell you about my embarrassing moment at church the other day....my pastor said hi to my husband and I when we came into the Sunday school room and looked at me with a big grin and said "It's about time now, eh?". I just about died. I told him I still had 4 months to go and then he tried to make it better by saying that everybody carries differently. It took me a day for it to really bother me...but I had a good cry over it yesterday. I'm just petrified of how big I'm really gonna get if people think I'm almost due now! I've had several people in the last few weeks ask me when I was due...and I just figured because it's obvious that I'm pregnant now....after what my pastor said they're probably all thinking I'm a cow! I'm really trying to watch my portions and eat ONLY when hungry...although I have to admit I've gone to bed hungry almost everyday since my last appointment. In a way it gives me a sense that I really didn't overeat...but I'm starting to feel guilty that maybe I'm not eating enough for the baby. I'm just torn over it. The weight issue has been a demon of mine since childhood and I'm really struggling with it now that I'm pregnant and know I can't "diet". I just hope I have better news at the next appointment and I don't outgrow all my clothes in the next few months.

Heya Amy,

It's pretty late here but I can't sleep.

At 5 months I was huge! I was huge the whole time I was preggo. I *swear* the minute that second line appeared my pants got tight!!

I wasn't hungry the whole time I was pregnant and didn't gain weight until I was around 36 weeks. (I had tons of water, in four weeks I went from 227 to 256!!!!) but the doc said not to worry about it because the baby will take what he/she needs from you and then you're the one that's left being deficient.

I wouldn't recommend going to bed hungry though. Eat something to keep your blood sugars even.

I hope we hear from LittleBear soon too.

Hi mommies!

Well, I had my morning of stress with the washing machine repair man. He insisted that we would have to spill out all the soapy water in the machine onto the floor. I wouldn’t let him, but I really had to fight! He proceeded to fix the electrical problem, charge me about $120, and tell me I need to bring in an electrician, because he’s left me with a fire hazard. Can you believe it?! And, he didn’t fix the dryer drain, and forced me into an argument about front vs top loading washing machines. I know what I’m going to be doing for the next couple of days…our (2 person!) bathtub is filled with dirty laundry. *sigh*

I woke up feeling crappy about Sweden, and DH chastised me about it, which made matters worse…hopefully my day will improve!

Ames, don't let the pastors words get to you, he probably didn't mean a thing by it! But I understand why you would be miffed, I probably would be upset too. Married life, and living abroad, and pregnancy...etc etc...are teaching me that sometimes I just have to let go of things, amazingly, it's not as hard as I once imagined!

Hi, girlies! Wow, I can't believe I've bumped up to the 2nd trimester! Yikes!

Wow, what an exhausting past few days. Had another dog trial, and while we didn't do great, it was a definite improvement over last weekend. We had a good time, just really really tired.

And yesterday I was in a meeting all day.. from 8:30 to 5:30, and it just wore me out.

Last night, we went to Baby Depot and USA Baby to look at more cribs, since we just weren't totally thrilled with BRU. We found some we really liked at Baby Depot. USA Baby had some nice ones, but I don't see spending $500 MORE on a crib that has the same features as others just because of the name!

Otherwise, I'm doing okay here... just eating like a pig and at the same time not able to eat lots of things. I had hoped these aversions would get better.. they're getting worse! All I wanted for dinner last night was french fries. Fortunately, we were out and about and hubby obliged me. How frustrating, though, when we have healthy food at home and I can't eat it!

Martha, how frustrating for you. And shame on hubby for chastising you.. it can't be easy for you to be there and deal with all that, especially with hormones going crazy. I mean, I live a long way from my family, but if I were desperate, I could always hop in the car for a 14 hour car ride. And customer service over there just sounds awful!

Sorry, no more time for other personals... I hate having missed so many days!

Hello all,

Aiden was born on October 6th. He weighed 8 lbs 6.5 oz and was 21 inches long.

I went in to my induction on October 4th and after 36 hours of labor the kid refused to drop and i was barely 4 cm dialated. The doc was like kiddo your 2 weeks late, he won't drop sometihng wrong. We need to do a c-section..... I trusted her totally and after being in so much pain i agreed.

Well, she was right, he had a huge bruise on his head from being crooked..... She said he would have never come out on his own, whifch is why he was so late.....

He is just beautiful, looks just like daddy.....

I had a bad day of baby blues yesterday, cry, cry, cry. I swore i am going to get up today and start a routine. My doc is like you need to rest you had major surgery, but lying in that bed just depresses me.....

I restarted diet yesterday....... I only lost about 10 poiunds in the delivery, but after one day of eating healthy i dropped 3 pounds. they really fed me a lot of carbs and juice in the hospital.

breastfeeding is going well, he eats every 2.5 - 3 hours..... I think he would eat more if i would i would let him

Ames - I've had several people say things like that to me. In fact it has happened enough times that I have lost count. It sounds like you are short and short waisted like me so the baby has no where to go but out. That makes people think that you look bigger than you are. Honestly, people are just clueless about what not to say to pregnant women. I've even had the comments from women with several children when you think they would know better. I'm sure you look beautiful. I don't think you should be going to bed hungry though. If you are hungry, then you do need to eat. Just drink plenty of water, eat the best you can and it will all work out.

Marthad - I know it's not missing out on my cooking that's causing the complaints although I did find the idea amusing. As best I can tell they all feel inconvenienced because it's the day before a holiday. Apparrently they have other things that they would rather be doing. I'm starting to feel like fine don't come if it's too much bother for you. DH and my dad will be there without griping and I don't need anyone else if they feel it's too inconvenient. I know their attitudes wouldn't have upset me nearly as much if my mom was still here. She never would have complained about it. She would have dropped anything and everything to make sure she was here and the contrast is upsetting. I feel like the family members that complained should realize that too and have kept their opinions to themselves but perhaps I am expecting too much of them.

Little Bear - Congratulations and Aiden!!! 36 hours of labor. Oh my goodness! Glad you and Aiden are okay. You will feel better emotionally once you are able to get up and move around some. Just pace yourself and don't do too much at one time and remember not to lift anything heavier than the baby.

Hi Everyone, I have been so tired I have not had a chance to visit this site in while, I go to bed when I put my boys to bed at 8:00. YIKES. Anyway I am asking for some help. I am 11 weeks and had an ultrasound yesterday to verify the due date and the tech found a lump in the placenta and had to call the ultra sound doc who was at another location and looked at the pics over the web then called back and said to do another ultrasound and add color. My bladder was not full for the second one so we did not get a great look at this lump teh second time but the tech did not think it was anything but of course I am a nervous wreck waiting for my MD to call and tell me what they found yesterday. Has anyone ever heard of this? By the way the baby was beautiful with a heart rate of 195 moving all over the place arms and legs waving to us, but I still worry I did have a mc back in 1/00 and that will always be in the back of my mind. It is hard to be excited when I do not know 100% everything is OK.
Help anyone? am i worrying for nothing??

AMY - CONGRATS!!! I can't wait to see some pics of little Aiden! And 36 hours of INDUCED labor? Whoa! I hope you had drugs. I did it natural the second time, but pitocin contractions are the worst.

AMES – I know you can’t not worry, but don’t worry about your size right now. Women “grow” differently during pregnancy. Some gain more during the first trimesters, and some don’t gain until the last. Me, I thought I did great, because I didn’t show until I was 5 months along, but I packed it on during the last two months, resulting in an almost 60 pound gain. This last time, I seemed to gain it fairly evenly. We’re all different…

Good morning ladies! Sorry I wasn't around yesterday, I had the day off of work!

I had my doc appointment yesterday. Everything went well. He said that I had lost a couple of pounds and my blood pressure was still good. They did a non-stress test today. They hooked up one monitor on my upper belly to monitor for contractions, and one on my lower belly to monitor the baby and his heartbeat. I was given a button thingie to push every time I felt the baby move. It all went well. The only thing I didn't like was when she tried to wake the baby up. He wasn't moving a ton, so she said they needed to "buzz" him. She comes in with this buzzer thingie. I asked her if it was going to hurt him and she said no. So, she puts it on my belly where he is laying and pushes the button. It made a loud buzzing sound and vibrated. It scared him so bad! He squirmed all around like he was trying to get away. She stopped and then monitored him. His heartbeat was beating much faster and he kicked a few times. Then he went back to sleep. I didn't like that part AT ALL! I wanted to punch her for scaring him. But, I suppose they need to monitor those things. The doctor said everything looked great. Next week, ULTRASOUND!!

I have never heard of this. I was looking on line and not finding much information. I think it is completely normal to worry. You will hear so much of us worrying on a daily basis. If you notice, I haven't had my name added to the list yet because I lost my first pregnancy a few months ago and I felt like I was getting kicked out of the club when it came off of the list. I am on my second pregnancy, and I am also 11 weeks offically today. One week longer than the last pregnancy. My next u/s is Nov. 3rd. I will still be worrying, but if every thing is okay, I want to be put back on the list.

I am glad to hear that the baby was moving around with a strong heart beat. That is a good sign. Did the tech's offer any additional information? I would think they would want to do a second u/s. Did they discuss this with you?

I'm sorry I can't offer you any help, but I am hanging in there with you. I pray everything is okay, and no reason to think otherwise until you hear from your dr. Please keep us posted, and come here often if you need a lift.

MetroAmes - try to disconnect people's comments from your reality. Men aren't great about that stuff in the best of times (not to sound sexist or anything . Eat when you are hungry and try your best to make good choices. Lots of women gain all their weight in the first tri, and then stop, others don't gain any til the 3rd, then pack it on, others gain it evenly throughout. Your gains will level off, don't worry. Try not to stress so much about how you appear in the eyes of others. Worry about how you feel physically and how you are nourishing your baby. In the final analysis, whether you gain 20 pounds or 80 pounds, the people around you are going to perceive what they want, and it usually has more to do with their relationship with their own body than it has to do with how you actually look.

Dar-I'm with you on the crib!! Although, my grandma bought our crib for Alexis...and that is the same one Cameron is using. The new baby will be using my sister's boys' old crib. I like them because they are matching...both from JCPenney! They are also the ones that you can use for three different stages. Crib, Toddler Bed, and a Double Bed!!

LittleBear-So glad to see you are okay!! We were all getting pretty worried after not hearing for you for awhile!!! Glad you and baby are home safe and healthy!!
