Good morning ladies!

Congratulations aphexacid!

I'm assuming that Little Bear and Bozo have had their babies since they've been MIA this week...so I didn't move them up a week with everyone else.

I didn't get enough sleep yesterday as I was wound up after church so I'm a little sleepy and actually had some dry heaves before coming in to work. I'm better now, but jeesh!

I'm gonna have to stay after work for a while and attend a meeting with some dispatchers and planners. Then, after that, talk to my boss about the papers I got last week for my leave that I have a million questions about. I swear he gave me the wrong form for my doctor to fill out. No where on it does it have an option for recovery from giving birth. They have an option for pregnancy, but the way I read it, it is for prenatal leave only...like being on bedrest or something. I guess if the only thing my doctor has to fill out is the contact info it will be easy for her! Oh, they also ask for specific dates for leave....like I know that!

Well, that's all for now. Not sure I'll get to check back in today as I'll probably just want to go to bed by the time I get home. Have a great day everyone!

Morning Ladies!!

Man this weekend went too fast. I got a lot done, and am sore to prove it...but could use another day just to rest. Went to Babiesrus yesterday and got my bumper. Thankfully we did as it was the last one due to them discontinuing that line. Also changed my registry for my stroller after playing with them more. Wish I could just stick with a decision LOL

Slept well last night with the exception of 5 times to get up to potty. Dreams are starting to get more and more weird. Dreamt I had the baby at home with no pain. Came out a boy not a girl, that was already walking/talking. I'd put him in the crib only to go back and check on him and he'd climbed out and was sleeping on the floor. When I woke I kept feeling my belly to make sure I was still pregnant LOL

Hope you all have a great day....hope this week flies like last week does. I go for my 1-hour glucose test on Wednesday so hoping I pass that as I dread the 3-hour.

Congratulations Aphexacid! She's a big girl! Can't wait to see pictures. Hope everything went well!!!

Bozo (Bridget) had Helen 9/30 according to a thread on the PG.

Still no word from Little Bear? Hope she is holding her little one now.

I went and looked at maternity clothes this weekend. I felt so dumb because I had no idea what to look for!! I popped buttons off of two pants so I knew I needed something more comfortable.

I'm about an 18. I went to Mimi Maternity. They started carrying XL's in pants, but they were a little too tight in the thigh. They felt good everywhere else. Anyway, didn't matter how they fit because I am not paying $50 - $70 for pants. What a joke!

I ended up at Target and got a pair of maternity pants in XL for $22, and then I bought some stretch dress slacks in a size 20. They were big in the butt and legs but felt good in the waist. I figure I will rotate those out with my skirts which are still comfortable.

The experience was kind of depressing. Well, not depressing.....you just need to be smart about shopping and I have a lot to learn. I'd like to think I will stay an 18 with a big belly, but who knows what shape my body will take. I want to look nice, but I don't want to blow money. Ebay had some good deals, but you just don't know what you are getting unless it's something you've seen in the store. I've ordered clothes there before, but the sizes were too big or too small. I guess when you are pregnant, too big isn't a bad thing.

I may just get some cheesey $2 stretch pants in a size 20-22 and not worry about it. I have plenty of nice shirts that will fit a while.
It's just frustrating because this isn't baby weight yet. This is just me bloating and gaining 5 pounds.

Once I get past my 14 weeks, I will look into some bigger panties. I'm sure that will be another depressing experience. I hate bikini panties, so I imagine I will get some bigger granny panties from what I already have.

Sorry for ranting......just too much to think about. Any more tips and advice would be great. I'm thinking about the rubber band trick, but is that really comfortable, and how does it work?

Good morning Ames and DesperateinFL, and all the lovely ladies that pop in!!

WELCOME BETHANY!!!! Congrats NICOLE! Your little girl was an ounce smaller than mine, and exactly the same size as my oldest. For some reason, I have big girls. Funny thing is that they never looked really chubby, since they were longer.

Anyway, although I'm sorry you had to go through a c-section, I'm glad that both you and your little girl are healthy... That is the most important thing.

CYNTHIA - Know what's funny... With my 9lb girl, the newborn clothes were STILL too big for her. They make those things HUGE! LOL!

DENA - It's always awkward shopping for maternity clothes when you're not ready for them yet. The rubber band trick worked for me, and it wasn't uncomfortable.

MICHELLE - Seems like you had a pretty good shopping trip at BRU. I have to stay out of that place! As for BF'ing... It's not for everyone.

AMES - No, you probably got the right form. That’s what mine looked like too. My midwife held on to the form until I gave birth, and then faxed it right away.

This pregnancy is turning out to be like my first. Lots of evening sickness. UGH. So far, though, I haven’t gained any weight though. Although, from the way I pigged out, I really should’ve. I have to stop this. I can’t afford to gain the weight. I’m the heaviest weight I’ve been getting pregnant this time. I mean… Not the heaviest I’ve ever been, but I was 180 when I got pregnant with my other two. Now I’m 195. So, I really have to watch it.

Hello everyone!!!

Just stopping by with some good news!!

You can officially move me up to the expectant Mommies section of the board! I got my positive HPT this weekend!!! We are due June 22, 2005. This was our second cycle of trying. We are so excited. We haven't told anyone yet, and it's killing me!! Haha.

So I am at 3 weeks, 6 days right now. I am feeling pretty good so far. I feel a bit sick at times, but it passes. Mostly my lower back hurts a lot and I can just feel weird things moving around inside there. This is just crazy!

We realized that during our first try, we used lubricant, which we think was a major factor in not getting pregnant. So if you're TTC...don't use it!! We didn't use it this time and we were also a little more knowledgeable about when to baby dance, etc. The weird thing was that at 7 DPO, 10 DPO and 11 DPO, I TOTALLY had PMS. Full-blown PMS. I was convinced that this was not our month and had already started planning for our third month of trying. But then on Friday, I didn't get my period so I took a test. There was the faintest line ever there, so faint that I didn't even really believe that it was real. I went online to see if this could even be a positive test. Some people said yes and some said that it was probably an evaporation line. But I was beginning to feel really weird on Friday and I had a sneaking suspicion that it was a positive line. AF didn't show up by Saturday morning, so I tested again. There it was, a brighter line. I finally let DH in on what was going on. By then I was positive that I was pregnant, but he wanted to see a darker line to be sure. So Sunday morning I tested again and got an even darker line. He was finally convinced. Haha.

So. I'm pregnant. Now what???? Haha.

Congrats to all of you new mommies!! Seems like so many of you have had your babies while I was MIA from the boards.

And good luck to all of you who are TTC!

Hi everyone!

Suzanne, Congrats! Brianna is beautiful, and I really enjoyed reading about your birth experience.

Nicole, Congrats to you too! I, like everyone else, can't wait to see pictures of Bethany

Hi Ames, I hope things get worked out with the paperwork at your work. Sounds frustrating!

DespInFla, Glad you're getting a lot done! Weekend went to fast for me too.

GoJackets, I know what you mean with the maternity shopping. It a depressing experience for me too. I just might not be able to go outside much longer!

Hi Cynthia!

Jennifer, I feel like I really need to watch my weight too, but then the only food that appeals is carby. I'm finding it really tough to get off the bad carbs now...

I had a nice weekend with my brother visiting. We did a lot of sightseeing around Stockholm. At least I got my exercise in every day that he was here, now I just need to keep with it!

We are having difficulty deciding on a car seat and stroller. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm planning to buy them in the US over Christmas, but want to be fully ready to walk in and buy. We are going to go look at a Mountian Buggy tomorrow, they're $800 here, though. Has anyone used one? Everybody here uses those big old fashioned prams, which I just can't work into our lifestyle...I'll never fit it, let alone lift it, in the trunk!

Have had a pretty bad bout of constipation, but other than that feeling great. (The myths about the 4th month are all true!!! )

Hi to all to come!

Hi!

GoJackets - I did the rubberband thing for maybe 2 weeks, but got really sick of it really fast. Do you have "Motherhood Maternity"? Its owned by the same company as MiMi Maternity - it has similar styles but is somewhat less quality and much less expensive - and they go into plus sizes. I am a size 16 or 18 depending on the brand, so I am a L or XL in most maternity clothes. I also found that all of sudden I am a XXL or 1X in button up style shirts! Wonder why???!!! :-) I have found some great things at JCPenney (both in store and online). One thing though -some of their tops seem really short, which is bad if you have pants with a panel. Hope this helps a little.

Things are going OK here. My ultrasound to determine sex and make sure everything looks OK is scheduled for October 28th. I don't really know if I have felt the baby, so I am anxiously waiting for that. Somedays I just don't feel pregnant - and today is one of those days. I try to enjoy it, but I still have that nagging thing in the back of my mind...ridiculous, I know. When did you all start to feel the baby (with your 1st one??)

The girl at Mimi suggested going there....she said it was their sister store, I just figured they would be as pricey.

I will check it out.

So how does the rubber band thing work? Do you run it through the button hole and loop both ends on the button?

Congrats jehcekah! You must be delerious! (did I spell that right?)

Hi JennP, I have the same worries on days I feel good...and every little twinge still worries me. Though, I will say I am beginning to be less obsessed with finding spotting when I wipe (sorry, TMI)

GoJackets, Um, lets just say that I can't get enough hubby lovin! LOL

GoJack - Yup! It works relatively well, considering. I had to loop it through twice to get it to stay. It worked well with side zip/button pants too. I definitely got a couple more weeks out of my regular pants that way.

Motherhood is way cheaper than MIMI (lesser quality - but you only need the clothes for like 5-6 more months, right??) Check it out on the web - maternitymall.com or something like that.

Good luck! Pass on any fun info or things you find. Seems like we are a similar size!!

Happy Monday!

CONGRATS Jessica! There are supposedly very few lubricants that don't kill sperm or drastically change your PH levels. Saliva is especially bad. We had a hard time switching to au natural too! We tried Pre-Seed, which is TTC approved, but it made this awful "SLURP, SLURP" sound and we couldn't stop laughing and focus on thae "task". My lower back was really sore at first too. I heard it's because the ligaments that hold your uterus up attach to your lower back. Your hubby can help by giving you backrubs! Cangrats again!

Cynthia~Is it Chichen Itza (Mayan ruins) you are going to while in Cancun? I went years ago and it was so awesome. I'm sure there are a lot more tourists and crowds now but I think it would still be worth it! Let's see what Suzanne says. Are you taking the kiddos?

Dena~Ah, the joys of maternity-clothes shopping! I went to A Pea In The Pod and their preggo jeans were $175! Helloooo...I will never probably wear them again! I have not tried the rubber band thing, but you hook one loop around your button, through the buttonhole on the other side, and back around the button. I hate having my tummy cold, so this did not work for me. I am wearing (non-maternity) drawstring pants. They seem to work really well for this transition phase.

Jenn~I first felt the baby I *think* at 15 weeks, a gentle swat. Then around 17 weeks, I would feel stronger movements but they would only last a second or two. Then around 20 weeks I definitely felt baby, but not consistent. She has gotten a lot more consistent in her movements as of week 22-23. I felt her a lot until she "flipped", then I worried, till I figured out her feet were opposite of where they were. I have heard that you will feel more if baby is facing outward rather than your spine, even though it may be moving just as much. Yay on your U/S at the end of the month!

Martha~Sympathies on the constipation, sweetie. I had that too, cured by a long hike (almost didn't make it to the bathroom, LOL).

Jefinner~ on the evening sickness. It sucks when that's what you focus on instead of relaxing and watching TV. Did you take anything with Anna to remedy it or will you just suffer through?

Michelle~Good luck on the 1-hour GD test!

Hi Ames!

Last night was the first time I slept with a pillow under my top leg. It was not very comfortable for me yet. It puts more pressure on my bottom hip, if that makes sense. What a pain to flip it over (I'm a toss and turner). I thought about sewing little pillows into the inside knees of my jammies, LOL.

Good morning, ladies!! I had a good weekend...glad to see everyone else did too My hubby wasn't able to come home until yesterday after noon...and he had to leave this morning at 6:30, so that was the only bummer. My MIL watched the kids for 2 1/2 hours for me on Saturday so I could have a break...man did I need it! I slept the entire time! It sure is getting cold here in the mornings...I thought it would snow by the end of Sept., but I was wrong!! Well, not much else to talk about...!

Ames-Hope everything turns out okay with the papers!

DIF-Your dreams sure are funny! They crack me up! Glad you got so much accomplished this weekend!

GoJackets-Good luck with the maternity clothes!!

Jefinner-I was pretty upset this time around when I got pregnant...my son was only 8 months old and I had just FINALLY gotten down to my pre pregnancy weight from my daughter!! Oh well, now that I the "secret" to losing the weight I really haven't been as concerned this time around!

jehcekah-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

JennPayton-I hate waiting for that u/s. But once you get there and see everything is okay you are so relieved!! I have another one on the 21 of Oct to "make sure" it is a boy!

Marthad-Glad you had a good weekend. Do some searches online...and determine which one you like best! I don't really have a suggestion, sorry!

Hello to everyone that comes in after me!! Glad to hear everyone is doing well!!

DespInFla, I forgot to add that I've been having intense dreams lately too. Last night I dreamt that I totally relived 9/11 in Manhattan. For some reason we decided we needed to go downtown during the whole disaster. All these people were running uptown, I saw faces in trains and cars going by, but we got in a plane and landed in Battery park and actually walked into WTC after the first tower fell. People were standing in line at the ATM, and watching TV. It was crazy, I woke up shaking and pretty disturbed by the dream.

Kelley, I toss and turn a lot too, and the past few nights I have been getting hip pain, last night I actually could only get comfy on my back! I like the idea to sew little pillows into your jammies! Too cute!

Morning Mommies -

Wow, everybody is so chatty it's getting hard to keep up (or is it just me slowing down to live in 3/4 time till the baby comes?).

Glad everyone seems to have had a pretty good weekend! Welcome to all the new babies, and HELLO to all those who have joined us either TTC or newly preggo!

Well Mrs. Sarah, looks as though it's you and me next kiddo (although I'm a little worried about LittleBear, has she pm'd anyone?).

Columbus Day is a holiday around here, so dh and the kids are home playing. We saw Shark Tale yesterday. It was really cute, and the kids loved it.

Nothing else exciting planned for the week except final OB appointment tomorrow at 11:30am, and c-section Friday at 8:00am.

Four days and counting!! Holy *****!! We're going to have a baby in four days!!! It's still only just sinking in at certain moments. As much as I love the feeling of having him inside me, I have to say, I'm looking forward to feeling better, sleeping more comfortably, and getting my body back. This is certainly the last time I will ever be pregnant since I'll be 43 years old in a couple of weeks, so I'm trying to relish every moment, but it is something of a challenge at times.

I'll check in again later.

Regards,
LizzyD

WOE: Whatever gets this baby weight off!
Start Date: Who the heck knows...
LIZZY – Can I ask how you’ve only gained 7 pounds so far? (At least at 37 weeks) I would love to do that, while keeping the baby healthy. I have enough weight to lose, that I’m sure if I ate healthily and kept my portions small (but eating throughout the day), I (and baby) would be okay.

Actually… You too Sarah. You’ve done phenomenally in regards to your weight gain.

CONGRATULATIONS JEHCEKAH!!! How awesome is that?

MARTHA – I haven’t looked at a Mountain Buggy, but we got a jogging stroller system. It’s a jogging stroller, and the car seat/carrier attaches. Got it all for around $180.

That’s funny talking about “hubby lovin’”… DH says he can’t wait for my 2nd trimester to hit… LOL!

JENN – I have such a time with maternity tops. That’s why I poo poo’ed the pants with panels. I’m long waisted, and I had the hardest time finding tops long enough.

Gosh… It’s terrible, but I can’t really remember when I started to feel Allison (DD#1)… I think I was about 5 months along.

KELLEY – That’s hilarious about the pillows in your jammies! About the sickness… I didn’t experience much with Anna, so I didn’t have to do anything… With Allison (the oldest), I just had to suck it up. At least I’ve never had it very bad. My aunt was violently ill with both of her daughters for the first months.

HI GETNSLIM!

Post any time....and post pictures. We are actually thinking about Cancun in January.

Have any of you noticed any unusual behaviors?

I am listening to country music. I haven't listened in YEARS!!! I am generally an R&B/Hard Rock type girl.

I can't get enough country music, especially the old stuff!
