Good morning chatty ladies!

azktycat! I'm doing better these days with low carb than I did in the first trimester...but I had a bad week this past month where I ate sandwhiches with bread for several days and I found out the bad news that it put 9 pounds on me this month and I don't feel like I overate at all! Bread and grains are evil to my body I don't have a problem staying away from sugar...which is odd since I normally have a terrible sweet tooth when not pregnant. Good luck staying lower carb if you can.

Well, I guess I'm small on words today. I slept really good yesterday...over 9 hours with only one potty break....it was sooo nice. I'm still kind of in dream land now at work, LOL!

Everyone have a great day!

Ames

Hey, Ames, it is still nighttime here...11:30 p.m. but I can't sleep. I know I'm gonna regret being awake at this time when I get up with the kiddies in the morning. Oh well....when ya can't sleep ya can't sleep. Don't worry about the lbs...you know how to get them off after the baby! Just worry about growing a healthy baby! Talk to you later!!

*yawn and stretching* Morning Ladies!!

Ames, just stay healthy....that's priority.

GetnSlim....hope you finally got to bed!!! Dunno how any of you stay up so late, I'm zonked by 10 every night lately.

Doing ok here...sleep decently and even the pooch stayed on hubby's side most of the night. Have noticed however that I'm entering that awful "awkward and uncomfortable" stage with my body. I am literally waking up to roll over and it's so hard to sit still to do anything throughout the day. Ah well, means the end is in sight in only a matter of a few months.

Weather is finally cooling down here even if it is only a few degree's...the humidity is dropping. Hmmm, maybe I'll actually wear my hair down and put on some make up this morning, haven't been able to do that for at least 4 months due to having to be outside. People will think I've lost my ever lovin' mind!

OH thought you ladies who don't like "pink" as I don't would appreciate this. My g/f Tara is helping with my baby shower and messaged me online last night to ask me if that included even a pink cake. Seems she wants to order some strawberry cake from our local grocers but unfortunately the cake itself is pink. I'm like...HELLO, I'm pregnant. You think I care what color cake is? All I care is when I get to eat it! I think she has the point LOL.

Hey Ames, GetNSlim and Desp - G'mornin'.

GetNSlim - waking up just to roll over I've been doing that since about the fifth month. Something about the way you put it just struck me as so funny (pathetic but funny) .

I'm still thinking about Nicole (if you didn't see it, I posted to you on yesterday's thread, second to last post I think), and Suzanne, LittleBear and Bozo. Good thoughts!!

Hey Mrs. Sarah, since I'm having a planned c-section a week from tomorrow, as of then, you will be at the top of the list! I can't believe it. When I joined the list you were debating about whether you should do an HPT or not, and now the time is almost here. Wow! How are you and DH doing? Hope you're able to enjoy this time, even with the stress of what's going on.

BBL. Kids are clamoring for breakfast and help getting dressed. I'l check in this afternoon.

Regards,
LizzyD

Hi Ladies, Took the day off yesterday to bake for church supper.

I will catch up with everyone soon.

Just wanted to pop in a to MrsSarah! That stinks about DH. One way to look at it is now you don't have to sit and wonder if it's going to happen since it happened so quickly. I'm still stunned! At least that is one set of worries to put behind you.

How does he feel about prospects of other employment?

You just keep taking good care of yourself and keep us posted on the situation. We are all praying for you guys!!

Ok, Michelle.. my ears perked up.. strawberry cake? From where?! Have you ever been to Wright's Deli on Dale Mabry? The BEST lemon cake!

Kelley, Caena is pronounced "Kay-na". It's kind of a long story, but the short of it is that we mis-pronounced and mis-spelled Ceana, which is "Kenna". It's Irish for "fair one" which is a traditional name for white border collies. Not that she's white, we just liked how we mis-pronounced it.. so we altered the spelling to make it different. I actually found that "Caena" is a Cornish saint.

We had another practice last night at a different location (a herding field so lots of distractions with sheep smells), and she did well.

How is your pup doing?

Hoping we have some babies soon!

We're going to Babies R Us tonight to do a little bit of registering! I'm a little bit uneasy about it.. it's so daunting! I think we've picked out furniture, and that's what we want to get on there ASAP, so our folks have time to 'think' about it!

Happy Thursday!!

Ames - Have you tried low carb bread? I've been eating quite a bit of the Pepperidge Farm Carb Style Wheat bread without any negative impact on my blood sugar or weight gain. I either toast it and put peanut butter on it or make French toast out of it. I'm not much of a sandwich person.

Sleeping - I can't remember the last time I slept really good. I'm pretty sure it was before I got pregnant though. I have a hard time falling asleep most nights even though I'm tired and once I do go to sleep I wake up several times a night to go to the bathroom or rollover to the opposite hip.

Michelle - I hear you on the cooler temps. It's still pretty warm and humid here in the afternoons but it is starting to cool down in the mornings. It was so nice and cool out this am when I took DS to school. Strawberry cake sounds good to me! I haven't decided what I am going to do about having cake at my showers. I am thinking that I will have a few bites but I am worried that it will be harder to stop at a few bites than to not have any at all.

Not much going on here. Lots of work stuff to do and DH says he is going to start working on cleaning out the baby's room so I may help him some with that.

Have a great day everyone!!

Start Date: Who the heck knows...
AMES - You'll do much better this time around. Especially now that you are so mindful that you have such a bad reaction to grains.

CHRISTINA - Good luck getting the room ready!

DAR - I was always uneasy about registering too. My family doesn't ever look at the registry anyway... LOL!

HI DENA!

LIZZY - Wow! You are such a wealth of information. I wish I would've known you 9 years ago, when I was pregnant with my oldest. Instead, then I was of the mindset that all docs did the right thing. Instead I was induced 2 weeks early, only because he thought she was getting too big.

MICHELLE - That's hilarious about the cake... MMM... Strawberry cake!

GETNSLIM - Oh man… I can only imagine… I hope you can get some sleep tonight.

NICOLE – I’m so sorry. One of my biggest fears is a c-section too. I remember saying that unless it was endangering mine or the baby’s life, I would refuse. Your doctor does sound like she’s being cautious, but also listen to Lizzy. She’s so informed. Like I told her, I wish I’d had the info she has nine years ago. Either way, you and baby are in my prayers.

I’m still waiting (as you all are) to hear from Little Bear and Suzanne. I’m sure Little Bear has had her baby by now, and Suzanne I’m hoping anyway.

Oh, and BOZO… I don’t remember details, but I do believe I read somewhere that she had her little girl by c-section a week or so ago.

All is the same here. I’m just a little sad. I don’t have my other Jennifer here at work with me. (There are only two women here, and we’re both Jennifer – and we’re both pregnant… LOL!) She just left on maternity leave. Not completely, but she’s going to work from home until her baby arrives. Now I’m stuck with the boys. Only one of which I actually like – and he’s out of town for a couple weeks. So, here I am stuck with Butthead (boss) and WeasleBoy (a salesguy). LOL! I guess this is payback for me doing this to her not long ago! Tee Hee!

LOL! I gained 10 pounds that first month of morning sickness living on PB sandwhiches made only with low carb bread....I'm beginning to think that my system just doesn't tolerate grains well period...low carb or not.

Morning ladies...! Well, I finally was able to fall asleep around 12:15 a.m. Got up at 7:25 with the kids. I think I'm gonna pick up some tylenol p.m. at the store today. I really could use it!!! Went to my best friends bday last night...it was really fun. I ate too much...plus cake and ice cream...but...I'm sick of worrying about what I eat!! I am just gonna try to make healthy choices and control my portions. It is amazing how oversized our portions are here in the U.S. compared to tother places!! Does anyone want to start a running program with me after the baby?? With my last two I was able to start walking (a little bit) after 2 weeks postpartum...and then I started running after I stopped bleeding (which was usually around 4 weeks post partum). Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know!!

DIF- I know exactly how you are feeling!! I've been feeling that way for about the last month!!

Hello Lizzy and GoJackets!

Dar- Have fun registering!! My hubby likes the little gun thing!!

Christina-Have fun getting the babies room ready! I have a huge walk in closet (almost like a bedroom) and hubby has a seperate closet. So, we are gonna put the bassinet, rocker, and changing table/dresser in my walk in as a little nursery. Then when baby is 3-4 months it will move in the other room. I found that they like bassinets until they are a little older!!

Jefinner- How you feeling?!? Any m/s?? Sorry work sucks!!

Hello to all who come in after me! Oh, and Nicole, I wouldn't be too terrified of a c-section. I have had a lot of women tell me that once they were in labor and then had to have the c-section, they wish they would have just had a c-section and never went through the labor part. That if they had more kids they would be glad to just go straight to the c-section! I think recovery would be alot harder though...I'm not sure!! Good luck with watever!!

Is it because the only relief to m/s was eating? I am going through this now. I feel like a huge cow.........I just need to make better choices for eating. It seems the only relief for nausea is eating, and it only takes care of it for about 2 hours at the most....then I have to eat again.

I feel like I am doing a very ppor job of managing my diet.

Good morning ladies!

I'm feeling a lot better today. Nothing has really changed, but I think I'm getting my mind around the idea of all that has happened.

DH has decided to go ahead and work for two more weeks there. It is a gamble to know if it's paid or not, but he feels the need to do it. In fact, everyone in his department is there.

My husband works for a gun holster manufacturing company in their engineering deparment. They are designing a revolutionary new holster for law enforcement. They are only a few months from completion of their line and then it will be released. I truly believe that this company has the potential to go big once they release. Right now they have been operating on monies from investors, and that is what ran out. They are working on recruiting some more investors right now.

SO, while it's all confusing trying to figure out exactly what to do, DH and his crew are working their tails off to try and get this product on the market. I'm scared, but on the other hand, I'm very proud of him for being so dedicated. I think it speaks volumes for his character. So, I'm praying like mad that this will all work out.

Ames: How nice that you got a good night sleep! That's great!!

DFL: I hate that stage. It isn't too fun. I wish I could say it gets better, but you just feel more and more awkward as time goes by. But soon you'll be holding your little one and it will be wonderful!!

Lizzy: Me at the top of this list?! I can't believe it!!!!

Dena: Thank you for the hugs, I really appreciate it.

Dar: Have fun registering!! It is SO fun!!!!

Christina: Have fun cleaning out the baby's room! I loved getting it all set up!!

Jenn: I hope you survive with Butthead and Weasleboy!!

GetNSlim: Hi!

How are you ladies doing about eating vegetables? I really feel like I need to be eating more but I am having difficulty in this area. I feel like iceberg lettuce on a salad with cheese and dressing doesn't count for much.

Any suggestions? Can you get much from canned veggies? I thought about slicing up some cucumber and celery for a snack.

What ways do you get your veggies?

Dena, I am also doing a horrible job at managing my diet. Like I said before, when I get a craving for a cuban or french fries, NOTHING satisfies my hunger except what I want. That's a new development in the past week. However, I found that if I don't eat what I'm craving, I tend to eat and eat and eat.. I think eating what I'm craving and getting it over with is a better option. It may not be low carb, but it keeps me from eating the house.

I know that I'm not eating low carb, but I'm also not eating 300 carbs a day, so that makes me feel better. It's probably more in the 100-150 range.

Ok, for veggies, I've also had huge trouble eating them like I used to. They are just NOT appetizing. I find that if they have butter or cheese, they are much more edible. So, I'll saute some squash in extra butter, rather than steam. I've been buying the frozen vegetables with cheese sauce or butter sauce. They are edible, and I'm getting my veggies. Sure, I'm getting extra calories, but I have to get my veggies. The one thing I can still eat is a salad with romaine (can't eat the spring mix anymore), cucumber, and tomato. The veggies I can still stomach by themselves are cucumbers and tomatoes. Thank God! because I love them. Oh, and celery with cream cheese. Everything else 'needs' something.

Sarah, I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little better today. What a stressful situation. I'd be proud of DH too for all his dedication to his work!

Morning all!

I'm not sure how much longer I'll be around. I woke up this morning to bright red spotting and last night I was cramping most of the night.

Oh yeah and I also woke up too...

So I'm pretty sad/scared right now and am waiting to call my dr.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope everything is okay. Please keep us posted as you can. There have been many of us who have experienced similar symptoms. Some have turned out to be okay, others have not. it is very scary no matter what side of the coin you are on.

Depends on the doctor. When I had similar problems, it was on a holiday. The oncall doctor said to keep my feet up all day and come in the next day for an u/s to see if everything was okay. If they are open, I hope they would want to see you.

Is anyone getting the flu shot?

I've never had one, hadn't planned on getting one.....but they recommend pregnant women get them.

Any of you know for sure you are or are not getting one?

Not getting one. I didn’t get one last time around and was fine too. I don’t think I’ve had one in forever. My aunt (who’s a nurse) used to pressure us into it (she gave the shot), but I finally started telling her that I always felt like crap afterward, and I’ve rarely had the flue since. When I have, it hasn’t been at all serious.
