Good morning ladies!

Not too much going on here. I noticed a lot of you don't care for your MIL's...boy I must be weird. I love my MIL! I hope she comes to the birth and stays with us for at least a few weeks after!. We get along so well. Now my mother....that's a different story. We don't get along well at all and even went a 3 year period without talking to each other. We still don't talk a whole lot and I am actually thankfull that she works full time so I don't have to worry about her coming to stay when the baby comes and I'd be suprised if she even wanted to be there for the birth...although I will let her if she wants to.

Well, my sweetie and I are going to the Mall of America this morning. I'm in need of some maternity undies soon! I think I'll also get measured for a maternity bra as I'm busting out of my 44DD's now. Also, I'm going to get my wedding ring cleaned so I don't forget...gotta do it at least every six months to get free repairs done if needed. Speaking of my ring...it is still loose! I actually have gold string wrapped around the back because it is so loose. I hope I get to wear it the whole nine months...I know some women can't because of fluid retention. My sweetie is going to look at some winter coats too, because he hates the one he has as it is too large around the waist. I'm actually gonna try to wear it myself as my coat is very snug to zip up already! I can't see myself paying a bunch of money for a bigger coat that I might only use for one winter.

Well, that's all for now. Have a great weekend everyone!

Ames

Lizzyd.....thank you for the wonderful post of information!! We think it was simply my body reacting to the leftover Olive Garden garlic sauce in combination with stress. I've always had this issue since having my son (I could eat chicken broth and end up terribly ill feeling at times)....but it had subsided with this pregnancy. I had no idea we could take Immodium...grrrrr. I have stock in that company I took so much. But I did lie down last night finally around 8pm and fell asleep by 9pm. Feel much better today but I will definitely watch what I eat and not tempt my stomach again. I think the lil one lying on my bladder made the pain that more intense every time I'd try to use the bathroom.

We have some running around today to do. Taking my son to see Shark Tale. We want to get there early as it is opening weekend (expecting it to be crowded) and I want to sit in an area that I can stand and move around if I get too stiff. Also have to run to Target to get some things to start preparing the bedroom my son and the baby will share. He's so excited!!!

Check in with you all later! I need to go stretch out my joints. I'm finding my knees, hips and shoulders to be so sore every morning when I wake now.

Thanks lizzyd I'm going to be prepared and take some Immodium with me today "just in case". It usually works fairly quickly for me.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!! We tried to order our tix for Shark Tale online and half the movie times are already sold out...EEEKKK. Hubby's gonna hate the crowd LOL. I'll have to sit him between my son and I for his sanity.

Amy- I love my MIL too! They moved 8 houses down from us in June and it's been wonderful. Both my in-laws have been so supportive and I truly love hanging out with them.
We're in the same boat with mothers though. My mom NEVER has time for me and is motivated to do things (like attend a baby class) only because she's jealous of my MIL. I invited them both to the birth, but am kind of hoping that my mom can't show. She is so negative towards me that I'm thinking she would be a bummer. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom... I just try and limit the amount of time I have to spend with her.

Crap.. my cat just ate a small piece of plastic. You would think these cats are starving. They eat anything they find on the floor and they're so fast you can't catch them to take it away from them!! ARGHHHH...

Desperate- Glad to hear that your feeling better. My intestinal thing finally faded away after 4 long days. Could it be the garlic that you're reacting to?? I can't eat a large amount of garlic or I feel awful. Anything more than a smidge is terrible!

I actually went and bought a thin plain band 1 size up. I couldn't wear my engagement ring/wedding band anymore, it hurt too much by the end of the day. It was a psycological thing for me.. I really wanted that band on my finger!

Huge labor vibes to our overdue mommies out there: ThininMex, Little Bear and Aphexacid.

Hi everyone, DH is working, so I have a few minutes to post

Shandril, that is terrible about your friend at work! I cannot believe they would tell her over the phone, that is just weird. Why didn’t the tech tell her during the u/s??!? I would tell her NOT to let them just do a d&c, I mean the dates could be wrong, or maybe the tech just didn’t read it right…I’m with GoJAckets, let nature take it’s course…

Pauline, Cassidy is gorgeous!! You must be so proud! Prices are jacked over here too, mostly due to obscene tax rates, but there is shipping too.

Michelle, I hope you’re feeling better and it was nothing serious!

Wendy, Hi there!

Cynthia, Alexia is a doll!

Ames, You’re lucky to have a great MIL. Mine is an absolute nightmare! Thankfully I won’t see her until after the birth. I try to like her, FIL isn’t much better—barely speaks English, 7th grade education, but every time I see them, I just like them less and less. My mom is planning to come over here in the beginning of April and stay as long as it takes. I’m really happy about that, but my Dad doesn’t want to come until after the birth… I hope I can wear my rings throughout my pregnancy too, but sometimes I can’t get them on in the mornings b/c of water retention. It’s a good reminder for me to keep drinking water!

Hi Nyanchan!

Is everyone doing their kegels? I try, but half the time I forget. If anyone has a good way to remember, please share!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Mommies,

Nothing new here....SIGH. My midwife is coming to see me today on her way to Cancun. I doubt if she will sweep my membranes or anything until at least next Thurs. As was mentioned yesterday, as long as the placenta is functioning well, there is no reason to try and speed things up. I´ll probably have another ultrasound on Mon if nothing happens before then. I wish I could honestly say my dates were confused but the pregnancy was verified by U/S at 5 weeks 2 days.

MetroAmes, it is so nice to hear you are having fun today and that you don´t feel bad!!!! If you start the thread on Monday, please don´t bump me up to 43 weeks since that doesn´t happen until Thurs. It is just too depressing for me.

Desp, glad your tummy is feeling better! I had a stomach problem a couple of months ago and my midwife told me to take as much vitamin C as I could handle and it worked wonders. Also, my doc told me Kaopectate was safe during last pregnancy.

Pauline, sorry to hear BF didn´t work. That is so strange that you started out well, then she didn´t latch on. Are you pumping and giving her your milk? Or formula? I was asking about Cassidy´s swirlies because I have lots, too--a widow´s peak with cowlicks that grow straight up on one side and straight down on the other side. Other than that I have straight hair.

Hi Cyn, Alexia is just absolutely precious!

Where is little bear? I hope she is OK and having her baby today.

Hasta pronto,

Suzanne

Hi,

Congratulations Kristen... pictures pictures we want pictures!!

I'm still pregnant... but on the way to the hospital. Now the doctors think that the baby hasn't dropped because her head is just too big. It does read in the 99th percentile at every ultra-sound, and both DH, FIL and my dad had (and have) over-sized melons. My doctor is worried if baby gets much bigger, I'll have to have a caesarian. Also, for some odd reason, she has Sept 20th recorded as my due date, so they think I'm almost in week 42?! I don't get it. My b/p has been great! But, I think by 8:30 am I'll be starting the induction. I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm so disappointed! I really don't want this, but it sounds better than c-section. Of course, with my luck, that is what I'll end up with as well! Sorry, so much for positive thinking.

Good luck Suzanne and Amy!! Well, I guess I always wanted an October baby.

I'll either post or get DH to post. Yikes, it all seems so real now. We now going to the hospital

Good morning ladies...! I'm getting ready to go clean out and vacuum the van...try to do that every Saturday. But wanted to say hello to all and hope you all have a great weekend. Hubby and I are planning on going to dinner and The Forgotten tonight. I can't wait...looks like a great movie!

Ames-Sounds like you have a fun day planned! I never have liked the idea of buying maternity coats either. Then again, because my baby will be born in Dec. I am thinking I will try to resell all my clothes and stuff on ebay! I have a great relationship with my mom, dad, and MIL. Now, my FIL is a different storry. He is the most vain person I know and cheated on his wife (my MIL) over 60 times. He is now married to a 25 yr. old!

DIF-My sister, nephews, 2 SIL, my daughter and I all went to Shark Tale yesterday. It is really cute!!

Nyan-See above post to Ames!!

Marthad- I try to do them the whole time I am at the computer and typing posts on here!!

ThininMex- I can't imagine being in your situation! My dd was born five weeks early and ds right on his due date. They did break my water with ds, but that was only because I wanted them to. However, this time around I'm gonna just wait until everything happens on its own...as contractions were MUCH more painful after I let them break my water!

Hello to anyone who comes in after me. Hope you all have a great weekend!! Happy Birthday tomorrow, Little Bear!!! Maybe you'll have the baby on your BDAY!!

Good morning ladies! Well, it's 10:45am here and I just got up! DH is out of town hunting so it's just me and my dogs. So, I took advantage of it and slept in! It felt really good.

Today I'm going to have another 90 minute prenatal massage. Ladies, I cannot tell you how wonderful these things are! You all MUST go get atleast one!! I'm really looking forward to it.

Other than that I plan on doing some cleaning around the house. I wish my nesting instinct would kick in, this place is a mess!

Ames: Good luck at the mall! The maternity panties I bought were from Motherhood. They are the lycra/cotton blend. SOOOOOO comfy. On the mom and MIL issue- I get along with both. However, I don't see my MIL very often, so I don't know how we'd do close together. Whenever I do see her we always get along great. My mom and I get along really well, however she tends to get on my nerves quite easily. Not enough to fight over, but just enough that I'm glad I don't live at home anymore.

DFL: I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better. I'm sorry you had to go through that!! Tummy troubles are no fun, especially when you are preggo! On kegels - I never do them. I always forget to!

Lizzy: Hi!

Suzanne: I hope your midwife has good news for you today! I can't imagine how frustrated you are getting. I'd be clawing someones eyes out by now.

Nicole: Good luck darlin'! I hope everything goes GREAT for you! I can't wait to hear your story!!

GetNSlim: Wanna come clean out my car when you are done? It desperately needs it!!

cyn: Hi!!!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Cyn and Pauline, thanks for posting baby pics! They are just precious!

Nicole~ Good Luck!!!!!!

Suzanne~I'm prayin' for labor for you!

You too, LittleBear!

Sarah~I had a massage this A.M! Fabulous! He didn't have the special table with the hole for belly and BBS, so I was just on my side with the top leg and arm propped up on pillows. My sciatic is really killing me, so he worked that area and stretched my hamstrings. I have to remember to do that on my own.

Martha~I never remember to do kegels! Maybe you can start a "kegel reminder thread", LOL!

GetN~You go to a lot of movies! I will just have to live vicariously through you, I guess! I feel so decadent going to a matinee during the day, and at night I fall asleep early.

Desp~I'm glad you're feeling better!

Lizzie~You are a fount of knowledge! If I have a health question, I will log on in hopes you answer it first!

Dierdre~I hope your kitty suffers no ill effects from eating plastic. I just had to clean up another doggie mess this morning. What a nice thing to get up to on a Saturday morning! Ugh.

Ames~You're brave to go to Mall of America on a Saturday! I just bought a winter coat a size bigger than I would normally wear. Yay for Costco!

I hope eveyone has a great weekend!

Hi ladies...

Ames ~ Hope you find some comfy undies. Whenever I hear you post about your 44DD and busting out, I get scared. I am 40DD every day. I can't imagine how big I will get when I get pregnant.

Desp ~ Ooo...let me know how Shark Tale is. Unfortunately, I don't have any kids to take to movies like that. So, I usually have to wait for them to come out on video.

Lizzy, nyanchan & Martha ~ Hi!

Suzanne ~ I hope your midwife gives you some good new. I can understand why you don't want to see the 43 weeks up there until you really have to. You are in my thoughts every day!

Nicole ~ Good Luck!! Can't wait to see pictures and hear all about the delivery!

GetNSlim ~ I cleaned my car last weekend. Go figure, my DH does detailing on the side for extra money, but who cleaned the cars last weekend? Me!

cynicalcyn ~ Hi!

Sarah ~ Oh, that massage must be heaven. I am so jealous. I am not pregnant, but oh, what I would give to have a nice rub down after cleaning my apartment.

Amy ~ Hope you are feeling okay. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Kelley ~ Hi. Glad you got to enjoy a massage too.

Not much going on. I am going pumpkin picking tomorrow with my father. It is a tradition. We still go to the same place we have been going since I was a baby. Every October we go. I told DH that this is the last year (hopefully) that he doesn't have to go, because when we have a baby, the tradition will continue.

After we go pumpkin picking, then I can decorate the outside for fall. I can't wait!

Talk to you all later!

Madame-Well, with a town of only 16,000 that is about all there is to do here! I wish there were more...but who wants to go out to like bars and stuff when you're pregnant?!?

SmileyAmy- I know how ya feel. Hubby used to be a detailer in his dad's car dealership when he was 13, so he likes the cars clean all the time. However, he feels like if you made the mess it is your mess to clean up. Wonder why he doesn't feel the same way about the house?!?

Nothing new here, the midwife said the baby and I are both doing great! I'm getting to the point where I can't stand hearing that even though I should be grateful. Fortunately, my midwife has to go to Cancun again on Wed so if nothing happens before then, she'll come see me again and save us the driving.

Sarah, the prenatal massage sounds wonderful! I have invited a girlfriend to the birth who is a message therapist. She's going to be so useful when the time comes!

Nicole, I hope you are holding your baby now! Max and DH have super big heads, too, but this one appears to take after me.

Martha, I have done my kegels religiously during this pregnancy. DH could notice the difference months ago. My mom has a prolapsed uterus from too many episiotomies and not enough kegels. I used to put up notes around the house that said "TUT" (Tighten Up Tighter) to remind me, now it is just habit.

Smiley, pumpkin picking sounds like such a nice fall activity. I keep forgetting that we are in a new season. It has been a bit cooler here today, highs in the mid 80s....I really miss that cool, crisp fall air.

Ames - if you didn't already buy maternity undies, I like the stretchy nylon ones from Target. I bought some of the cotton/lycra ones at Motherhood but they are still too big and I didn't like the cotton ones from Old Navy.

I hope Nicole is holding her baby by now!

MILs & Mothers - My MIL and I used to not get along very well. DH and I have been married 12 years and were together for 4 years before that and over the years we have gotten closer. We have a really good relationship now. She is going to watch the baby a couple of days a week. If I get to have a VBAC she will be there when I have the baby. I had a wonderful mom and it always makes me sad to hear stories about those who don't. Unfortunately she died last December.

My niece spent the night last night and DH & I took her and DS to the mall today. I had to buy a pair of maternity jeans to get me through the rest of this pregnancy. Most of the maternity pants I bought at the beginning are too snug on my tummy now. So irritating to have to buy pants that I will only be able to wear for a couple of months. I am really cranky today. I have little patience lately. DH took DS & niece outside to play because they were driving me nuts!

Christie: I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I always remind myself when I'm upset with my mom how really lucky I am to still have her. We all have to take time to be thankful.

Hi Mommies,

Nicole - good luck!! Let us know as soon as you can!

Suzanne - I think you've got a really good attitude! I know it's hard in the face of all of the conventional "If she's not out in 39 weeks, 6 days, INDUCE!" wisdom. You're doing the best thing you could possibly be doing for your baby, and I really admire your fortitude and patience. Sounds as though this is the time she needed to grow a little bigger and stronger to face the world. You're giving her a great gift. Hang in there. She'll be here as soon as she can

The same goes for you LittleBear. Good for you for waiting it out. There's nothing more distressing than an unecessary intervention, that leads to more interventions, that lead to fetal distress, that leads to a c-section. I know it's easy for me to say from here, but your body will do what it's built to do. Hang in there!

Hi everybody else. Happy weekend to you all!

Regards,
LizzyD

Good morning ladies...! Just up early to early some breakfast before going to church. I 'll check back in with everyone later. Hubby and I went to The Forgotten last night, and it was pretty good. Started out different than I thought from the previews. I'll post later unless we go do something...I'll post tomorrow.

Happy BDAY, LittleBear!!! Maybe your sweet little baby is with you right now!!

Suzanne-You must have ALOT of patience!! I'm getting frustrated sitting here WAITING to hear!

Nothing new here. DH says that when people ask if I am ever going to have this baby, I should start telling them I am going for the world record! I am starting to feel really weepy all the time and it is getting harder and harder to be patient. I almost took some castor oil this AM but after some moral support from my midwife, decided not to.

Lizzy, thanks for your support, too, it´s just what I need to hear.

Can´t wait to hear about Nicole´s baby!
