Good morning ladies!
Well, I'm gonna hold off a few days to try the immodium...my stools were still soft today, but not like its been the past few days. Can you believe it is October already? Now that the morning sickness has subsided, time is just flying for me! We are forecast to get our first frost tomorrow night! The snowflakes will be hitting us in the butt in no time. Still praying for our overdue mommies...maybe your little ones just wanted to be October babies and they'll come now. Have a great day everyone! Ames |

Morning ladies
Nothing new here, been cleaning and cooking. Today is looking nicer outside, so I am going to try and plant some bulbs and do some yard work. Hubby and I have a bet about first snow, I think October 20th, he says the 25th. I'm also making him hold off on turning on the furnace...it has been OK so far, the only time the house feels chilly is if you're just sitting there doing nothing. This may be silly, but I always feel like the longer I can hold off without heat, the less likely winter is to hit! How did such a summer person wind up here?!Does anyone know how to turn left over steak into fajitas? I'm not sure what to use to sauce it up a bit... I'm planning to sautee onions and peppers in spices, but it seems like the meat should have a little something to keep it from drying out. Hope everyone is well, I'll check back later ![]() |

Morning Ladies!!!
Ames....send some of that frost our way!! Oct. 1 and still high 80's and tons of humidity. UGH, this isn't paradise anymore!! LOL Alexander and I'm so happy for Kristen's family!!Dar....hoping you and the lil one do awesome at the agility testing!! You have my utmost respect. I once owned an Aussie and *whew* the energy they have! *pats my lazy basset's head* As for the pregnancy test ROFL....with my son, I tested 8, YES 8, times before I about passed out (ex and I were only engaged when we got pregnant). As for this one, I was so excited I tested at 4:30 am...saw the positive...then pounced on my sleeping hubby to tell him. Only for him to really wake up at 6:30am and say "I had this dream you told me you were pregnant!! Then walk into the bathroom, see the stick and come out to say 'Damn, I wasn't dreaming was I?" whatta nut! little bear....I do hope you get some relief soon and this baby arrives. Maybe it'll be a great bday pressent for ya!! Happy Bday and try to enjoy it!! MadameX....lol I worry about me too sometimes, but always find a way to get through it. Only 11 more weeks Did you get to watch the debate? I actually stayed up and am now so glad I did!!GetNSlim....jeans and sweaters???? OMG...I don't even own a sweater anymore LOL....send some of that cool air my way please?? hehehe SmileyAmy....I had to laff at your "gassy" statement. Must be from living with a very gassy person LOL. lizzyd....are you my long lost twin??? My hubby's the same about me and politics. We are somewhat on opposite sides of the political fence. We often "discuss" the issues only for it to end with me saying "forget it, you just are too narrow minded to see the truth!" hahahaha...well he is!!! The debate rocked in my book...can't wait for the next 2. ChristinaK....I am vastly overweight and was told by my doc she'd be fine with me losing during this pregnancy. Now....I gained at first, then started losing every month. Now 6 months pregnant, I'm gaining a little each month again. Thankfully I haven't been scolded by my doc....I know they're simply concerned as I have to have a CSection. But I'm glad you aren't holding water to that dietician. StrawberryGirl....I can't emphasize enough, like the other ladies, do NOT take that test as gold!! I was 20 days overdue with my son before I finally tested positive! But I knew I was because I'm one of those people who always got my TOM the day after I submitted myself to testing and it never happened that time. So, patience might prevail here...least I'm hoping. chels_hoff....beautiful pics!!! Suzanne.....hoping you too gain relief soon and hold your lil one!!!! Thought about you last night as I bought 10 things of baby yarn for one of my clients who wants to crochet me a blanket. I bought lilac yarn and as I'm walking out of the store I told my hubby "God I hope this really is a girl!!" *whew ok long post...fingers cramping....must shower in a min.* Hubby and I went out last night and put our crib and mattress on lay away. There was the exact crib I wanted on sale at Wal-Mart so we rushed over there only to find they had ONE left and we snagged it! Hubby was so cute comparing diaper and wipe prices. FYI...they have Pampers wipes on sale, 400 for $10...we picked up a box! While walking in the store, hubby had his hand on the back of my neck under my hair. At one point he looked at me and said "I do believe you do have a waddle to your walk. My hand now moves left/right while you walk." OH Geeezze....just what I wanted to hear. After that we went to the Olive Garden for dinner *bad bad Michelle*....BUT, was impressed with their low carb selections and use of wheat pasta if you like. Didn't stop me from getting their very sinful dessert tho. But hey a girl has to have something to eat while watching Presidential debate!! Hope you all have a great weekend....we have my son this weekend so will be up and about. Taking him to see Shark Tales and hoping I can sit through it! Enjoy!!! Marthad....yummmm fajita's. I personally use a fajita mix I get at the local store. BUT, I do marinade my steak and/or chicken in a red pepper based marinade and I always marinade them pre-sliced instead of whole. I feel kinda stuck as I don't know what products you have. I've also found if I cook the meat for a few minutes on it's own, then add the peppers/onions, they help give off some juices to keep the meat tender.
Let us know how they turned out!! |

Martha, I would cook the onions and peppers first.. they'll make a good amount of moisture on their own, then throw in the steak chopped up when they're almost done to warm it up - covering the whole thing will help keep it from drying out. I use fajita seasoning when we make fajitas. I never add any water or other liquid. I had a horrible evening. By the time I got home, I was SO tired and my head hurt SO bad, all I wanted to do was lay down and rest. I tried to avoid taking anything, but after tossing and turning for an hour, I finally gave up and took some Tylenol. It didn't do any good. I finally got up at 8 pm when hubby got home from playing golf, had some dinner (grilled cheese and tomato soup... it's good for the soul ), watched a little of the debate (sorry, guys, but Zzzzz... just doesn't do anything for me.. I already know who I'm voting for) then headed back to bed. I finally got some sleep after that. I would have much rather had my nap, though.I hope I get a good night's sleep tonight because Caena and I have to leave the house at 5:30 am to get to our trial! Yikes!!! |

Good morning all.....
Happy Friday! Been having some bleeding ever since my exam yesterday. Now I normally bleed some, but not this much and not for this long, so maybe it's the "bloody show" or maybe not, who knows.... I am not having contractions, but maybe it's a sign of something to come.......... My plans today are to relax and maybe put up some halloween decorations depending on how i feel, i really am pooped today and don't know why!!!!!!! Hope everyone has a good morning.... Amy |

Dear Little Bear - I would call my Doc right away if I were you. Just let them know what's going on.
Is the blood frank (fresh, very red) or does it look older and kind of brownish? The older looking blood that appears in mucous is probably more of your plug letting go. If there is fresh red blood there could be something going on with the placenta (according to the ultra sounds it wasn't too close to the cervix opening was it)? Not something you ever want to fool around with. Anyway, I would just check in to make sure. BBL everybody! LizzyD

Hey everyone...No time for personals. Sorry.
Amy ~ I hope something is starting!!! Maybe Monday, we will hear some news?? *crossing fingers* Don't have a lot of time. If you don't see a lot of me for the next week, it is because it is the quarter end at work and we have to run statments for all of the participants under our plans. Yuck! Anyway...funny thing. So, I am taking my temps now every morning, and it is the funniest thing. The alarm goes off at like 6:30, I grab the thermometer pop it in my mouth and doze until it goes off a couple minutes later. Kinda like my own mini snooze button! LOL Well, gotta get to work. The bright A$$ big wigs in the compnay decided to ALSO plan a company meeting this afternoon, on top of the statments!! Idiots!! Guess no lunch today. I will be checking in every so often - I have a hard time keeping myself away. BBL...

October already! I guess that means I have to pay bills today. Ick. My DH is still gone but coming back today (yay!). Last night I was meeting some friends for an early dinner before the debates, and I was SO HUNGRY I thought I would need to stop at McDonald's ON THE WAY to the restaurant! Well, they were late, and I thought I would just die. This particular restaurant won't seat anyone until the whole party is there. So, I went into the bar to get a Virgin Mary and an appetizer. I guess I really need to carry around an emergency stash of food in my purse! Anyone else notice if they miss a meal (or a snack) you feel like the world will end?
Ames~I hope things continue to "firm up"! Desp~I caught most of the debates. I thought they were good too. Amazing how the candidates can sound like a broken record though as they try to insert their stump speeches into any answer time and again. What did you get at Olive Garden? ~*Sending you some frosty mountain air from the West!*~ Strawberry~ What test did you use? A negative now does not mean negative. Answer Early gave me a slight line where Clear Blue Easy was obviously negative. I guess the arrival of AF is the deciding factor, though. she stays away from you!Dar~I'm glad you got those pictures to open. I had a heckuva time loading them. I did stop by Target yesterday to look at their maternity section, but I'm just not there yet. I guess I'm relegated to wearing drawstring pants for quite awhile still. LittleBear~I have a feeling...Labor Labor...is this bloody show? Prayin' for ya, Mama! Smiley~How's the temping? I'm glad you could see that pic too. I am so lazy even getting around to taking pics! Not much to see, yet~sigh~. I saw in Martha Stewart Baby a really cute flip booklet where you take your belly pic weekly and then attach them all, and when you flip it fast you can really see your belly grow! I thought that would be neat for my scrap book. Have I done it? No. DH won't help with the pics, and taking them in the bathroom mirror (like I do) sucks. Plus, you need to always wear the same thing and stand in the same place... Chels~Or should I say Marilyn! Great Pics! Did they style you? Those are great. Martha~Could you add beef stock or something and make kind of a "fajita stew", then top with pureed cauliflower and cheese for a Mexican shepherd's pie and bake? I bet we'll get snow around that same time (actually, we already have, but it melted within hours, so doesn't count). It almost always snows before Halloween here. I too need to plant bulbs, but our garden center told me to wait at least three more weeks! Freezing! BBL Kelley

Anyway Kelley, I used First Response to test- I have no idea if that's any good or not. If I don't get my period this weekend, I'll test again on Monday. (yeah right, like I'll make it that long). At this point I'm just wishing AF would SHOW UP, so I can get on with things next month. And I'm excited I'll have my temps to tell me something. That's the frustrating part- if I had been temping this month, I could probably be able to tell if I'm pregnant, or if I just ovulated really late.By the way, I broke down and bought "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" last night, and I'm already about half way through it. (I had to go spend some money to make myself feel better about the negative test) Anyway, I've already learned a TON (like why on earth me being on top during sex hurts so bloody much sometimes!)Okay, this is too long already, on to personals! Ames- we're due for snow here soon too- I'm not looking too forward to it. Marthad- that's so funny, DH and I have a bet about the snow too!!! He said Oct.13, I said Oct. 17. I'm not sure what I win if I'm right, but it better be good!! Desperate- honestly, I don't know how you ladies that had to wait that long for a positive test didn't just go absolutely CRAZY. Well, hopefully AF will just come today or stay far away for a good nine months!!! Dar- hey, we had grilled cheese and tomato soup last night too!!! I needed some comfort food. little bear- maybe this is something starting? Let us know what the doctor says about it. Have fun if you get around to halloween decorating! Smiley- My thermometer does the same thing to me- I like it when it takes a little longer some mornings, cause I need me some sleep! Kelley- thanks again for the cute flip book idea- I LOVE it!!! Hi to everyone who comes in later- I'm sure I'll be back!!!

See...I am SO busy, but I just can't keep myself away!
Darlene ~ Yeah, I am getting the hang of taking my temps. Now I just have to figure out how to read my chart and what to do with the info. Kelley ~ Temping is going well. That is so cute about the flip book. I love that idea... StrawberryGirl ~ Yeah, I like those mornings where the thermometer takes a bit longer. Zzzzzzzzz... Also, you are already half way through the book!?!!? Good for you...I have had it a week and I am only half way through...CHAPTER 3!!![]() Last edited by SmileyAmy : 10-01-2004 at 08:53 AM. |

Good morning ladies! TGIF!! I'm SO glad it's Friday!! I'm feeling pretty good tonight, but didn't sleep very well. I had a lot of butt cramps again. My butt and upper thighs seem to get charlie horses in them at night. Not so fun. Otherwise though, I'm doing pretty good!
![]() Ames: I can't believe it's October either! I can actually say, I'm having my baby NEXT MONTH!! Martha: When I make fajitas I take onions, steak and peppers saute those and then throw in some salsa. It kicks it up and makes kind of a sauce. Yum! DFL: My DH loves to point out my waddle too. He thinks it's cute. Dar: I'm sorry you had such a bad night last night! I hope you feel better!! littlebear: I'm praying that today is the day!! Maybe you are feeling so tired because things are about to start happening?! Lizzy: Hi!! ![]() Smiley: Sounds like you are getting the temping down! Great job!! Kelley: Yes!! If I'm hungry I want food NOW. GetNSlim: I hope you feel better! Strawberry: I'm glad you bought that book!! I hope it helps! |

Hi Mommies,
little bear, ditto everything Lizzy said. If it is fresh, bright red blood you really should check with your doc. I'll be thinking about you. Kelley, we have taken belly photos every few weeks, that sounds like a cool project. My midwife asked me to print her copies of all my belly photos so she can use them to show her patients. I'll tell her about the Martha Stewart flip book. Martha, to season fajitas I use soy sauce, olive oil, fresh garlic, black pepper, chile powder, and a bit of cumin. You can marinate the meat as much or as little as you like depending on how strong you want it to taste. Ames, sorry to hear that your tummy problems have moved south. You have definitely had the most miserable pregnancy I have ever heard about. (I thought mine was bad!!!) Hope it gets better one of these days! Michelle, I hope your U/S was right, too. But lavendar is OK for a boy quilt. Here we are in Oct, this would be a great day to have my baby as Oct 1st was my father's birthday. And if it doesn't happen today, Oct 5 is Max's godfather's birthday. And if it doesn't happen then, one of my sister's is Oct 10, and another sister's is Oct 26, and....if I can hold out long enough, the baby might be born in time for Christmas!!!! I'm not in such a hurry today since DH woke up with Max's sore throat. If they would all get well, I would feel a lot better bringing this baby into the world. My in laws came down a month ago to be here to help with Max during the birth. Well, their flight back to Canada is tomorrow. We rented them a condo for the month and the rent expires today. My FIL is going to stay on for as long as it takes but MIL is leaving tomorrow. I hate to say this but I am so glad she is leaving. We do not get along. We found an inexpensive place for FIL to stay and I am glad he will be here to help with Max. Guess I better go swimming, I'm going to try jumping up and down again. Saludos, Suzanne

Frost and snow??? I wish it would cool off some here. It's supposed to be over 90 today.
Amy - I think you should call the dr too. I am crossing my fingers for you that it is bloody show and labor is imminent. Suzanne - Your attitude is so much better than mine would be right now Hoping that baby comes out soon.StrawberryGirl - the most sensitive test on the market is First Response Early Response. Scrapbooking the pregnancy test - I would have considered putting the tests in my book in a memorablia pocket. DH was grossed out by the idea so I took a picture of the tests instead and scrapped it. There is a great website for scrapbooking if anyone is interested called twopeasinabucket.com Anyone else really cranky?? The littlest things really tick me off lately and I am sooo grumpy when I'm usually pretty mellow. I'm not sure if it's hormones, the dietary changes, not sleeping well, or a little of all of the above. |
