Hi Ames. hi Littlebear -
That was a really fun thread yesterday. Our positions are usually not very imaginative. The best ones for me are from behind, and spooning. I am 5'4" and dh is 6'4" and we don't have any problem with the difference. We're going to pick up our new car in a minute. I'm SO excited. The best part is that all new cars are now required to have the LATCH system installed (those anchors that the child car seats can attach directly to). Much easier. No more screwing around with the belts hoping it's tight enough. Hope you all have a great weekend. GO RED SOX!!! Regards, LizzyD

Hey, girls,
Glad it's the weekend, but here we go again.... Expecting crappy weather this weekend. Planning to go to the outlet mall tomorrow to get some more slacks and some shoes. Thanks everyone for your tips on shoes yesterday. Having a problem today.. I can't pee! Well, at least I think I have to pee, because my bladder feels full. I sit down, and just get a trickle. So, either my uterus is pushing on my bladder to make it feel full (but then, I wouldn't just get a trickle like I am), or it's pushing on my urethra and limiting my ability to pee. I wonder if my uterus is still tilted and doing this to me. Ugh... Later! Last edited by Dar20 : 09-25-2004 at 07:39 AM. |

Or you might be getting a UTI (urinary tract infection).... I would try drinking a large glass of water and then leaning forward, if that doesn't work, maybe get tested for a UTI, other signs might be a burning sensation when you pee or feeling like you constantly have to pee ![]() I have to sit forward some to pee, so maybe that will work! Sorry about the crappy weather. |

Ditto everything little bear said. Still pregnant. Dar, sounds like you need to wiggle around a bit or you have a UTI.
Hope all you FL moms are going to a safe place this weekend. Is anybody on the east coast? I guess the good news is that this hurricane looks weaker on the west side, much as Ivan did. I´ll be thinking about all of you. Saludos, Suzanne |

Good morning ladies...man...I could use a little more sleep! Went to a late movie last night (9:15-11:15), so I didn't get to bed until about midnight and the kids were up at 7:30! UGH! Anyway, not much planned for the weekend...hubby's birthday is Monday...but since he is working out of town I think we are gonna celebrate it tomorrow...so I need to go b-day shopping for him. What do you get a guy that already has everything?!? Any ideas??? On the pregnancy front my back is really starting to hurt...which is wierd for me because in both
of my other pregnancies I would hear ladies complain about that and would think...jeez...that hasn't happened to me! Oh well...I guess I can handle 1 out of 3 being that way...and I only have 3 more months to go!! Can you believe that Christmas is 3 months from today?!? I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! Ames-Glad you're feeling up to doing stuff! I hate doing stuff around the house, but always feel so much better when it is done?!? Kinda wierd! But, I guess it is the same thing with what I eat and exercise!! Humans are so darn confusing! Little Bear-Yeah, atleast you have your hubby's company. Mine works out of town all week so I just get to see him on the weekends! He will be home later today!! Dar-Stay safe and have fun shopping!! I love to shop! Hello to anyone else that might come in after me!! Hope you all have a great, fun and relaxed weekend! Waiting to hear about some new babies! |

Good morning ladies! Today is my baby shower!
I've got to go get primped up and head over to my mom's house to help her set up. I'm really looking forward to it! ![]() Dar: I have to wiggle every which way to get it all out. You might try it and if it doesn't work, go in and get checked for a UTI. Here's a question- after the trickle, do you feel relieved or do you still feel like you have to go? If you feel relieved then you are probably having a squished bladder that is alerting you to go before you need to. Ames: Go girl! Enjoy the energy!! little bear: Hang in there!Lizzy: I wonder if my car has the latch system? It's a 2001 Mazda Protege. I'll have to check, that would be great! Suzanne: to you too!!GetNSlim: Can you sneak in a nap today?? And geez, Christmas is in 3 months? I have SO much to do! |

Hello ladies...
Ames ~ Glad you are able to get stuff done now. I remember when I first came in here you were dealing with being sick all the time. It is great that that has passed! Amy (bear) ~ Sending major labor vibes. Glad DH is home with you - enjoy your time together! Lizzy ~ First off - GO SOX!! They had better start winning. Ugh. What kind of car do you have - did you just get it? Darlene ~ Couldn't tell you much about having to pee when pregnant but I have had a UTI before and it feels like you constantly have to pee and then only a small amount comes out - you think you are finished and BAM you have to go again. Careful... Suzanne ~ Sending major labor vibes to you too! GetNSlim ~ I am counting to days till Christmas - I love it!! Now, you have a double reason to like it - that is IF you like it. Hope your DH has a good birthday! Sarah ~ Have a great time at your baby shower. Can't wait to hear what you got!! I have never heard of helping set up your own shower - aren't they usually like bridal showers? You kinda show up after everyone is already there? I am probably wrong... Well, I went out after work yesterday and bout "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" after many people here suggested it. I bought ovulation kits and a thermometer. Took my temp for the first time this morning and am heading over to FF to try to start charting. Thanks to ALL your help guys...you have been great! Talk to you all later!

Hi everyone- Sorry I haven't posted in the last couple of days- Thursday work was crazy and yesterday I had a doctors appoinment that did not go very well. My BP was 144/104- So more blood work and I had to have a Non-stress test- What was strange is the nurse who took my pressure for the nst took my bp agian and it was 138/88- Wth!!- Of course that was after I went home and took a 2 1/2 hour nap- It felt so wonderful to take a long nap- I really feel fine except for the swelling - I go back Monday and he may decide to do my c-section then instead of Wednesday- At this point it doesn't matter what day. DH and I are both off and trying to relax and get some last minute things done. We are planning to have a date tonight
Amy- Sorry it wasn't the month for you- I don't know a thing about charting - sorry! Suzanne- You look awesome- Hope the baby some soon for you and Little Bear! Nicole- - If you do get induced Monday I hope everything goes well!!!Sarah- Hope your shower is good today! Florida ladies- Hope you are all safe this weekend-- - I will try to post more!!!

Thanks guys for the advice. I don't have any pain or burning. When I'm done, it does feel like my bladder has emptied, it just takes awhile.
I will see if it gets better. I'm wondering if my uterus is starting to right itself and on the way it's pushing on something. If it is still bothering me Monday I'll call my doc. Suzanne, Amy, and Nicole, hoping it happens soon for you. I feel bad that you guys are so frustrated. |

Kristen, sorry to hear that your BP is up again. I´m going to be so jealous if you have your baby first! Hope you get a lot of rest this weekend. Lizzy, wtg on the new car! What did you get? , $20K would be much better spent on a college trust fund. Today when we went for our morning swim, I walked out to about 4 feet of water, then I jumped up and down about a 100 times. I can´t even do jumping jacks on land but I was able to jump really well in the water. Unfortunately, nothing happened.

My shower was wonderful!! I had a lot of fun. I am amazed at how generous people are. I cried about 15 times.
First cry: I get there to help my mom set up and she give me a small velvet box. Inside is a blue cameo necklace with an image of a woman and a child, along with a very sappy card that made me cry even more. ![]() Second cry: A woman that has been a family friend came. She was the one that threw my mom her baby shower when she was pregnant with me. Well, to make a long story short, this woman desperately wanted children, but was never able to get pregnant. Her father had hand made her a cradle. She used to babysit me when I was a baby and I would sleep in that cradle. She never had children of her own to put in there. I was the only baby to ever use it. Well, she gave me that cradle. I know it was very hard for her to do. I still am in shock that she gave it to me. Her, me, and my mom all sat around and bawled. Third cry: My cousin-in-law gave me this Willow Tree Angel...I cried. So, it was a very emotional day for me. I think my hormones must be in high gear. Aside from these gifts I got tons of clothes, baby towels and blankets, etc. I got a bottle sterilizer, car shades, head rest, car mirror, digital ear thermometer, etc. I got a few hand crocheted blankets at well. I also received two of the same swing. I'll have to exchange one of them. It truly was a wonderful day. ![]() Last edited by Mrs Sarah : 09-25-2004 at 07:14 PM. |

Sounds like a great day! Glad you enjoyed it and got lots of good stuff. ![]() That willow tree angel is precious, and caught my eye because when Carter was born, my MIL got us a similar figurine. I thought it looked a lot like the one you posted and looked it up - ours is in the same line: They're very heartwarming keepsakes! ![]() Christie |

I got my straight midnights! I can't believe it!
The guy who bid the relief line felt bad about the girl screwing so many people over for a few extra weekends and holidays off. He said this is probably the only year he'll get to take a break from midnights so he went for it! I told him that he made my day and year and I'm bringing cookies for him next week, LOL! Now, I can relax and forget about the schedule....since I'm not taking any extra vaction except during maternity leave I don't have to do anything else except talk to my boss about my leave, yay! Ok, I'm way to excited. ![]() Hey Dar, it could just be your uterus tilting foward. I had some days where I'd literally have to pee every 30 minutes and only get a trickle. But I've had bladder infections before so I know that this was not it...plus it only lasted for a few days at a time and I had round ligamet pain moreso on those days too. You might want to get it checked out anyway, because I've heard bladder infections can be dangerous during pregnancy. Well, have a great day everyone! Praying our Florida mommies don't get washed away. ![]() Ames |

*yawn*....up early today. Woke to huge winds against our bedroom window and figured I better get up to see what all is happening outside. Our water level is good, but man these winds!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed we don't flood as I really need to go to work tomorrow.
Pregnancy wise...I'm doing fine. Just tired this weekend from various things getting me up early. Neither one of us are motivated to switch the rooms so that will probably wait 2 more weeks. Poor hubby is stressed to death due to waiting on a position at his job for permanency that he wants. So I understand him wanting a quiet weekend. Will post personals later....as long as we have power. |

Hi Everybody,
How are all the Florida Mommies? Dar20 - The peeing situation stinks! Littlebear - thinking about you! My first son was 10 days late (right around this time six years ago). It was hard, and I was pretty uncomfortable by then, but he came out a really healthy 8lb 9oz. If you're like me, you'll totally forget the discomfort, and even miss having him inside you once he is out (I know, hard to believe right now). MetroAmes - on the midnight shift! I'm so happy for you! That nice guy sure makes up for that ******. Restores one's faith in humanity.GetNSlim - Hi, and thanks. We got an Infiniti QX56. It's the only vehicle we could find that can get us up our perpendicular driveway through snow and ice (4wd), AND can sit three children in car seats across the second row, AND can EASILY fold down the third row for cargo and luggage for long driving trips (most of our vacations, trips to Home Depot and Costco) etc. There were a couple of others that almost fit all our requirements, but either they didn't drive as smoothly or the seats were too hard for me to fold up or down by myself. We're really pleased with it (the only drawback is that it's so big, I hate that the milage is bad, and I have to be really careful pulling into the garage now Hi Mrs. Sarah - Yeah on such a nice shower! Did somebody take lots of pictures for you? I think the LATCH restraint requirements became law starting on all 2002 models, but many manufactureres started putting them in sooner. Look in your owner's manual index for LATCH, or call your dealer. After being secured, you aren't supposed to be able to move the seat more than ONE INCH in any direction, no matter how hard you push on it. If you have any trouble putting in the car seat securely, call your police or fire department in your town. They all have an officer who is trained and certified to install and inspect child car seats properly. Something appalling like 85% of all car seats are found to have been installed improperly. It's well worth the one appointment to learn how to do it properly. I encourage everyone on this board to go out and do this. It's probably one of the most important safety precautions you will ever take for your child. If you've ever been in a car accident, you know how violent it can be on the passengers, even at a low speed impact. There's a lot of info out there about car seats too. We went with the GRACO SnugRide (rear facing). It was number one in all Consumer Reports and NHTSB categories, like crash tests, durability, ease of use, and ease of installation/extraction, etc. It cost about $89, and you can purchase a stroller for it to snap into (so you can move baby in and out of the car without waking him up) if you want. The drawback is that when he reaches 20 pounds we'll have to switch to a bigger car seat. There are some out there that convert (infant, rear facing up to 20 lbs. then you can turn it around and face it forward after that). You definitely save money with this option, but the disadvantage is that you can't just click that kind of car seat out of the car and carry it around over your arm (or click it into a stroller the way you can the infant rear-facing ones. Also, the rear-facing infant seats will snap automatically onto most grocery shopping carts (extremely useful)! Wow, sorry that turned into such a novel SmileyAmy - good for you for getting TCYF! I'll bet in a matter of weeks, you'll be answering all the charting questions for the newbies! WAY TO GO SOX!!! They really pulled it out in the 9th last night. They were tied with the Yankees and went ahead to win 10-5. Woo Hoo!! This is the year. I can feel it!! I just hope there isn't any post season play while I'm in the middle of my c-section (how's that for prioroties?). Actually, it most likely wouldn't be a problem because coincidentally my OB is a Red Sox freak. He probably wouldn't object to having the radio tuned into the game during the surgery. Especially if it helps to relax the patient he he he. I can think of worse things than my baby boy being born to the sounds of the Red Sox announcer's voice informing us that we are on our way to our first World Series win since 1918. BabyBlue - I think it's pretty normal for your BP to go up when you're stressed and tired, and for it to go down when you're relaxed and refreshed. How was your date night? We had one too! Steamers and Lobster, then Farenheit 9-11. It was great to get out with just DH. So your big day is either tomorrow or Wednesday, right?!! OMG, you might beat out all the ladies who have been waiting so patiently! Good luck Suzanne - sorry the modified jumping jacks didn't work! Hang in there (I know, easy for me to say, eh?!) She will come out. You will not be pregnant forever! As for the car, we got an Infiniti suv. I totally agree with your sentiments on saving for my children's education. Due to some very generous family in current and passed generations we are extremely fortunate that we don't have to make those trade-offs, otherwise I never would have dreamed of such an extravagance. Hello to everybody who signs on later. Have a peaceful Sunday. Regards, LizzyD |

Hello all!
Was gone a week on my cruise and it was pretty nice until Jeanne started following the ship on Wednesday night. The ship was rocking until we docked on Friday night. Blech. I did surprisingly well considering that most everyone around me was sick! Amy- Congrats on the boy!!! Now you can start buying all the cute boy stuff!! My husband felt the baby yesterday for the first time too! She was doing a major interpretive dance routine in there and he felt her do this HUGE roll. I need to start mucking out her room soon. I just have so much stuff stored in there I'm very intimidated. We're getting a lot of rain and pretty bad wind here in Orlando. My husband thinks that this is worse than Francis... Hope everyone is doing well! Dierdre |

Hi everyone! We had dh's high school reunion last night that was pretty lame. We left very early and hung out with a friend. I was glad because I was so ready to go to bed at 9. I'm normally a night person and don't go to bed until 2 or so but since getting pregnant I'm so tired and just want to sleep. I don't really have any oth |
