Good morning ladies!

Well, I was going to post some ultrasound pics but my membership to photoisland.com expired. I guess they aren't allowing new memberships evidently as this was the reply I got from email:

Thank you for your inquiry. Currently the registration for a new
account has been put on hold. There are no further details.

Anybody know of another website we can use to post pics?

TGIF!!! Morning Ladies!

Wishing labor and happy babies to all our mommies. I got caught up on last night's thread and sat here laughing at the images of those overdue trying desperately to talk their little ones out. Hoping you all meet them soon!!

Suzanne...you look absolutely amazing!!! And I'm not a cradle robber....he robbed the grave

Someone made the comment of hearing about people stopping trying to get pregnant then BOOM pregnant yesterday. That's exactly what happened to hubby and I. We had tried for a few years and it was a very emotional and educational road....but one we couldn't stay on with all the disappointment. Having a baby became the center of our universe which crashed every month. So we simply stopped and took the "if it's meant to be it'll be" route....2 months later, pregnant! As I said, I'm all for being educated....but it can easily border on obsession and create strain elsewhere. Don't forget...baby making is supposed to be FUN!

Personally, I'm doing fine. Got another good nights sleep very early last night. Seems I always fall asleep when there's good TV on that I'm looking forward to. But at least I woke to the key point of who got fired on Apprentice I'm trying to lie down as soon as I get home from work as my legs are starting to swell in the evenings...uggghh.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Mornin' ladies!

Ames, try imagestation.com.

Like I said last night, spent lots of money on clothes at Target. All the shirts are too big, but cheap and cute so I couldn't pass them up. I desperately needed jeans and slacks, but only ended up with 1 pair of jeans and some capris.. so that leads to my QOTD:

What shoes do you wear with your capris? I usually wear sandals, but I got a pair of black capris. I'll have to get new shoes to wear with them no matter what, and looking for advice. I will probably wear these to work, too. Not that I can't wear my leather sandals to work, just looking for something different.

Feeling good here. Tired since we were up late catching up on TiVo, but no nausea, no constipation. My boobs hurt, but I think there's just no getting around that when I have dogs climbing on me during the night.

Anyways, not much else going on... getting ready for another rainy weekend. Argh..

Hi ladies

I had another appointment this morning at the second clinic we have been considering. We basically just chatted, she answered a few questions I had and it went rather well. I can keep the midwife I like at the other clinic and use this clinic in addition. They specialize in higher risk patients and/or overly worried moms to be. She thought it was ok, given my m/c history, for me to be there. Basically, they gave me an emergency number if I have a freak out, or get overly concerned, and will see me at 20 weeks, and go from there. She also said she wanted extra ultrasounds at 34 and 37 weeks...anyhow, she seemed really nice and helpful, and I am feeling more relaxed now that I feel I have a midwife and a doctor who will be able to communicate well and hold my hand a little if needed.

Ohterwise, nothing much new here...I've been researching car seats, and cars for that matter. I suspect we are outgrowing my little A4. Does anyone drive a european SUV or station wagon? I think we can buy one here configured for the US, then take it home with us in a couple of years. So far, they all seem like they have tiny backseats!

Michelle, glad to hear your'e feeling better!

Ames, have you tried Yahoo!?

Suzanne, you look fabulous!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Not sure what is on our agenda....maybe a country drive.

Martha, the car of our dreams is a Volvo. I've always said if I could ever afford one, I'd get one - they're the safest cars made. And now, they're not ugly anymore! LOL..

Hubby's upset that getting our Volvo will now be postponed by baby, but I'm sure we'll get it soon enough. Him not working makes it difficult, and he understands that. Once he graduates, it will make a huge difference.

Another pregnant day!

Nicole - Wish i had some words of wisdom for you. I tried all the old wives tale stuff and nothing has worked. I am starting to think they invented that stuff to give overdue women something to occupy their time, and the ones that actually go into labor were going to anyway, so it's all placebo!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously, my thoughts are with you...... Maybe you need to speak to your doctor some more about what is going on. I wouldn't do castor oil, it did nothing for me, except give me a bad case of diarrhea, don't spend your last few preggo days with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suzanne - no wonder our babies won't come, we both have small bellies, i would post a pic of myself but i am too lazy to go out to the car and get the digital camera. but we are about the same size, beside slightly bigger thighs, it's all in my belly and belly ain't that big.

All you other ladies - i am thinking about you, pregnant or not. My friend has been ttc for almost a year now, and i know it has been hard on her, an emotional rollercoaster............

Well, since i doubt i am going into labor today or anytime soon, i will check in later.

amy

I wear sandals, slides, or heels ( guess that's out of the question!)........ you should be able to get a new pair cheap as all the summery stuff is being clearanced out.

Thanks, Amybear.. I'm always amazed that, even in Florida.. shorts and 'summer' clothes still get clearanced out. Hello? We wear shorts year round, or at least I do as much as I can.. we only have 1 week of winter!

Wanna trade places and come live in CT, we get about one week of summer I guess they have to make room for the next years stuff and stock stuff for tourists to take back home after their vacations to cold, nasty places like ct

I can't wait to have my prepregnant figure back again, and actually wear something fashionable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, one more thing I did forget to mention.. I'm not 100% feeling great today. I do have a wisdom tooth (or is it molar? not sure what's what back there) that has spent the past few years just sitting there, partially exposed. My dentist told me I should have it removed before getting pregnant.. then told me it would cost me $3000.. and that's with insurance! Like I have that cash sitting around.

So, the past two days, it's really started bothering me and is making me nervous. I'm hoping it's just sore from something I ate, possibly biting wrong. Talk about something coming back to bite you in the a$$.. if it gets worse, I'm totally screwed.

Isn't it amazing that medical insurance covers so much, and dental insurance if you are lucky enough to even have any, covers practically nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the pain goes away, can you use anbesol or anything like that?

Hi everyone...

Ames ~ The pictures are awesome. So incredible to see.

Michelle ~ Glad you got a good nights sleep. I am sure you feel fresh and revived!!

Darlene ~ Glad you got some cloths. I think it is worth the money, you are eventually going to need them. I would wear mules or sandals. My biggest pet peeve is people who wear socks and sneakers with their capris...please don't do that. Unless they are the cute little slide on sneakers.

Martha ~ Glad you had a good doctor's appt.

Amy (bear) ~ I hope somthing happens for you soon. I can only imagine how uncomfortable you are.

Well...I am having a sad day. I woke up early this morning with my stomache hurting. I thought maybe I had to poo. Went to the bathroom and realized that I got my period. Went back to bed and tossed and turned until my alarm went off three hours later. Told DH when he got up.

I know I shouldn't be too bummed - I was only trying for a month - but still. I am sure you all understand. Oh well...maybe next month.

So, now I need lessons on what to do to chart, or test that I can buy. I don't have a huge amount of money and I was totally confused when you guys were trying to explain it to me a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway...I should get to work so that I don't keep thinking about not being pregnant.

Hi to everyone else.

Amy - I hope you feel better soon. I can't give you advice on ttc, as my pregnancy wasn't planned. I just hope you don't feel sad for too long and can look forward to a new month. I am sure others on here will have lots of advice for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOE: Whatever gets this baby weight off!
Start Date: Who the heck knows...
AMES - I just love U/S pics!

LOL AMY – I’m wearing tennis shoes (some casual leather Steve Maddens) with my capris, but that’s usually not the rule, because these are the uber casual cargo capris, and I’m wearing my no show socks too. Usually, I follow the same rule.

DAR – I wear sandals almost year round. I love my heeled sandals, and usually wear those with my capris. I live in TX, so we don’t see much of a winter here either. Target is great for maternity clothes, but the best place I found (except they didn’t have a ton of selection) was Old Navy. I was lucky enough to have one not so far from my house that had a maternity section, but since I know how they fit, I can also go online.

SUZANNE – I’m so jealous of your tiny little belly! LOL!

LITTLE BEAR – I’m jealous of you, if you look the same!

Although, I’m not jealous of being late. I had Anna one day before her due date (although I’d prepared for being late, since my midwife predicted I would be), and I just wanted to get the pregnancy over with. It’s funny how you miss being pregnant afterwards though.

MARTHA – That’s great that you’re able to have both. Even without a m/c history, I worried about lots of stuff. Heck, I needed my hand held while being pregnant with Anna also, and she was my second. I thought I knew everything… LOL!

MICHELE – Glad to hear you got a good night’s sleep! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THOSE WHILE YOU CAN!

Everything’s fine on this end. I really need to call my midwife and let her know I’m preggers again, but I’ve been lax. I’m also hesitant about telling people. I just don’t want to hear all the obnoxious comments. “Don’t you know what causes that?” Grrrr!

I indulged in a chocolate chip cookie and a few chips last night. I don’t know why… But, I’m back on track now! Plus, I’ll have some extra time to exercise since hubby is grilling steaks and I don’t have to cook! YAY!

Hi Amy! Here is the chart that I used:

http://www.harpnet.com/images/chart3.gif

Be sure to buy a digital thermometer and take your temp as soon as you wake up....before you get up, drink anything, or go to the bathroom. It will only take a few minutes. You want as acurate reading as possible.

What you will be looking for as you chart your temps is lower temps that can vary a few tenths of a degree the first half of your cycle. Then, once you ovulate your temp will make a significant shift of .3 degrees or more within 2 days after ovulation and stay that way until TOM comes.

I just want to clarify that charting will NOT allow you to predict when you ovulate, so you still have to baby dance every other day until you get the obvious shift....but you will know looking back when you did ovulate so if you have trouble getting pregnant you will have a good idea what is going on with your cycle....and/or be like me and know the exact day of conception.

Just keep it simple and if it is going to stress you out don't do it...because the stress may inhibit conception anyway. Hope that helps!

Ames

Good Morning! Happy Friday!

Okay, I need sex advice. I will post my 20 week belly shot today, I swear. Belly is starting to get in the way. "Missionary style" is out of the question, it hurts to have any weight on it, and I'm starting to feel self concious about my belly when I'm on my back and can't get in the mood. Plus, I worry about being on my back for too long. So, we tried doggy-style (sorry TMI), but again I didn't want to put too much weight on my belly so I propped pillows on my chest=hurt BBS. Help! Doggy-style on my knees doesn't really work because DH and I are different heights (he's quite a bit taller). "Spooning" never seemed to do it for either of us because he either pushed me off the bed (in bed) or across the floor (rug burn). Standing doesn't work too well, again because we're different heights. What to do? Is there something obvious I'm missing?

BBL with personals,
Kelley

MadameX, try being on top. My sweetie is quite a bit taller than me too and that position works well when we don't want to do missionary. The spooning and doggy styles don't work well for us either.

You on top?? That's our usual, and I think it would be the easiest as your belly gets bigger. You have lots more control, too.

I see some of you brave ladies have started a daily menu thread. I would post my Fitday link, but I'm a little ashamed lately (four gingersnaps already this AM).

Okay, personals:

Nicole~Ooh! A baby delivery deadline! How exciting and scary all at once. Your BP really doesn't sound too bad to me, but I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV. Maybe combined with the swelling it's a red flag?

Martha~Do they commonly use anesthesia during delivery in Sweden? I read that in the Netherlands it's practically unheard of, and they use midwives most often too.

Dar~I had one last wisdom tooth emerge last year at 34. It too has only partially emerged. My dentist said the reason it would need to come out is if it was unopposed (no tooth opposite it on lower gum), since they just keep emerging then and there's nothing to stop it. I really wouldn't worry if I were you unless there's lots of pain. $3000!? Is it impacted?

Ames~Love the U/S pics! Isn't it amazing how much they look like finished babies already?

Smiley~
I'm sorry about AF. The first arrival of AF after we started TTC was the worst, but it gets better.

Hi Desp!

Jefinner~I had some cookies too. Ugh. Isn't it amazing how sugar carbs can really make you feel like crap, guilt aside? I really need to take it day by day, I guess.

Suzanne~I hope this is B-Day for you too!
