Good morning ladies!

Denise85! Sorry we missed you the other day.

I'm in a much better mood today despite finding out that the girl indeed bid the midnight line. There are two more people senior to me yet to bid, but I'd be suprised if they bid a relief line that would allow me to get straight mids. So it looks like I'll be stuck with a relief line again.

Having the ultrasound sure made my day though yesterday. There is no doubt that he's a little boy. If I get some time on my night off tomorrow I'll have to try and post some ultrasound pics. I thought it was cute that the technician commented that he's got such long legs already....gonna take after my sweetie it looks like. He's 6'2", his brother is 6'8" and both his parents are tall too.....so height definately runs in his family.

I might have to get another scan because the baby was facing my spine so the tech couldn't get a clear view of the heart. She said that from what she could see it looked fine, but the doctor might want a clearer scan anyway....so that's cool.

We have had names picked out before I even got pregnant. Our little boy is going to be named "Grant David". I've had the name Grant picked out for years and David is my husbands name. I helped out with Vacation Bible School one year at church (I think I was 14) and there was this little boy named Grant that took a liking to me and stuck with me the whole week. He was such a cuty. After that week I said that if I was ever blessed with a little boy I would name him Grant. Fortunately, my husband likes the name too.

Well, that's it for now. I'll check back later!

Morning ladies, it's 4:00 AM here and i just took 2 tbs of castor oil. The midwife said to try so here goes nothing. With my luck though i will end up with a horrible case of you know what and no labor. HAD to try though, i just am so uncomfortable........... So if you don't hear from me at all again today that probably means i am in labor, otherwise i will crawl back on this afternoon after my unpleasant experience is over!

everything goes ok little bear.

I forgot about the topic of vitamins ya'll were talking about yesterday. I took Atkins Basic 3 until my first doctor's appointment when she told me to stop because it was too high in vitamin A. So I bought a generic brand of prenatals at Sam's Club. Those didn't set well with me, especially when the morning sickness came on strong. I ended up taking children's Flinstone vitamins for much of the first trimester except when my heartburn was so bad I even skipped taking those. I probably should have taken a Folic Acid supplement, but I guess I wasn't too worried with all the fortified bread and cereal I was eating at the time. Looks like everything is ok with the spine via the ultrasound.

When the morning sickness began to subside I started on a hunt for prenatals. I knew that the iron and/or dye in them was probably the culprit for making me more ill. I found some at GNC that are dye free and you can get them with iron or without. I opted to the get the ones without and I take SlowFe for my iron since it's supposed to be easier on the tummy and so far so good. They are kind of large, but have no taste so if I have to take a few swigs of water to get them down it doesn't gross me out. I would highly recommend these since they don't have a lot of crap added like some vitamins do.

littlebear....castor oil? yuck!! But hey, if it works!! Sending labor vibes to you and the other ladies for healthy babies to arrive soon!!

Chellshoff....yeah I watched part of Dr. Phil. Couldn't believe some of what they showed!! Didn't finish it tho as I switched over to the Bachelor. I am a serious reality tv junky....but fell asleep about 30 minutes after it started LOL.

Thankfully got a decent night's sleep now that I know all is ok with the little one and I could stop worrying. Although I could go for about 8 more hours. At least the week is going by quickly and the weekend will soon be here. We have to switch our bedrooms (ours and our sons) so that the crib and our son's furniture all fit in the larger room. Hubby's dreading it while I look forward to getting it done as it'll be the first sign of us preparing physically for this baby.

We had a bit of drama surrounding my baby shower last night. My friend who desperately wants to throw it is having some financial struggle due to them remodeling their home and her daughter turning 1 two weeks prior to it. She messaged me last night asking if I knew anyone who could help her with the cost of throwing it. I know it was hard for her to ask and I feel bad that she's still trying to throw one in her situation. I talked to hubby about it and it seems he is determined that this shower happen as "it's something you are supposed to have" in his views. So as sweet as he is....he said he was going to talk to her and if need be, he'd lie and give her money saying it was from his sisters who live out of town. I swear, for this man being 9 years younger than me....he amazes me with how sweet and caring he is in situations that surprise me.

Hi everyone, (warning, very large post ahead)

I missed yesterday, not sure what happened! Was out and about with a friend and then running errands all day, I guess. We are trying to fight off the blahs around here too. Hubby is still down on himself and I’m still a bit sad to be in Sweden.

Sarah, you asked for my chili recipe. Here it is (and it is fabulous!):

WHITE CHICKEN CHILI

2 cans Cannellini beans
1 large onion, chopped
5 T unsalted butter
1/8 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup half-and-half
2 teaspoons Tabasco, or to taste
3 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon white pepper, or to taste
two 4-ounce cans whole mild green chilies, drained and chopped
5 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 2 pounds), cooked and cut into 1/2-inch pieces (grilled chicken is great)
1 1/2 cups grated Monterey Jack (about 6 ounces)
1/2 cup sour cream
Garnish: fresh coriander sprigs
Accompaniment: tomato salsa
In a skillet cook onion in 2 tablespoons butter over moderate heat until softened.
In a 6- to 8-quart heavy kettle melt remaining 3 tablespoons butter over moderately low heat and whisk in flour. Cook roux, whisking constantly, 3 minutes. Stir in onion and gradually add broth and half-and-half, whisking constantly. Bring mixture to a boil and simmer, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes, or until thickened. Stir in Tabasco, chili powder, cumin, salt, and white pepper. Add beans, chilies, chicken, and Monterey Jack and cook mixture over moderately low heat, stirring, 20 minutes. Stir sour cream into chili.
Garnish chili with coriander and serve with salsa.
Serves 4 to 6.

Dar, I had to get one of those geriatric weekly pill boxes because I kept wondering if I’d taken my vitamin today! I’ve heard pregnancy can give you a bit of a brain fog *sounds fog horn*

As for the Folic Acid discussion, I think 800 is now recommended, my prenatal has 1000micrograms.

Ames, congrats on the Boy!! You must be thrilled! We haven’t decided if we want to know the sex before hand, but I suspect we will! My mom keeps asking, I think she is aching to start buying things! (She has been buying baby stuff for a couple of years, and just giving it to charity) Glad to hear you’re feeling better…I love the name!

Littlebear, *hugs* I hope the castor oil helps to start things up for you soon and that you wont have to wait until October 4th!

Chels, *takes a deep breath* (LOL—European appliances really get my blood pressure going) They have pretty stringing environmental policies here regarding pollution and energy consumption, which is great, until it severely hinders your day to day life! Dryers are not vented to the outdoors here (I have no idea why), so mine blows hot air right into our master bathroom (yes, that’s where the laundry nook is…and yes, it’s in the basement and our bedroom is two flights of stairs up!) There is some sort of law about not blowing hot air into the dishwasher, it will blow cold over hot dishes, hence, they never really dry—I don’t know if this applies to the dryer or not… The washing machine takes a whopping 2 hours to cycle and is so small I can only fit one sheet and one pillow case, or two pairs of pants! The refrigerator/freezer is NOT frost free and the fridge continually has moisture dripping down the back panel. (All of these appliances are top of the line and brand new—well, the washer/dryer is middle of the line, b/c the top of the line doesn’t work significantly better but would have cost $5,000!) Anyhow, back to your question—I guess the energy conservation of the dryer makes it insufficiently hot to evaporate the moisture properly, so it has to go somewhere? (my apologies if this was insanely boring…) Sorry, I don’t know about the riboflavin…

DespinFLA, I’m happy your doctors appointment went well and that you’re reassured that everything is OK. I understand about rearranging rooms, I think we are going to have to either move the guest room downstairs (it’s now in a very pink baby room that was done when we bought the house) or set up the nursery in our little dressing room which we haven’t furnished yet… How sweet of your DH, they can really amaze us sometimes, can’t they!

SmileyAmy, relax darling…my test was only very faint on the day AF was due…everyone is different…wait until the weekend and test again

Wishing good labor vibes for Suzanne, Littlebear and Nicole!

JennPayton, that’s awful about the story that woman told you! You’d think people would be more sensitive!

ChristinaK, good luck with the glucose test results!

I hope I didn’t miss anyone….I feel like I’ve been typing forever (I keep leaving and coming back)!

Hi Everyone...

Ames ~ Sorry you have a bad feeling about the bidding. I am sure what ever happens, it will all work out. Hope you get to scan the pics - I would love to see them!

Little Bear ~ and I that it is over soon!

Chelsea ~ Sorry about the names. I guess though I am guilty of that. I think I like certain names and then I am like "well, maybe I like this one instead" Drives DH mad!

Michelle ~ How exciting that you are really preparing for the baby now! The time will soon be here...yippee. Sorry about your friend having trouble with your shower, but really sweet about DH wanting to help.

Martha ~ I am tryint to relax - thanks. No questions today. LOL
Sorry you are feeling homesick. My mother, who lives in Canada, gets like that sometimes. She just wishes she was around for more - I am sure when I do become pregnant, that will bring more sadness on for her unfortunatley.

No questions today - I promise!! I am going to take it easy and just wait till Saturday to do anything - unless AF comes and then I will know nothing took. I am not going to get my hopes up as I have only been trying for a few weeks. Thanks for all your support girls - you guys are awesome!

Good Morning!

So I went to Starbucks this morning and ordered a "Decaf Grande Mocha" and the girl working said, "Oh, you have to do decaf because of the baby, right?" I think she is the first stranger to really notice that I am pregnant. It made me feel great!

I am feeling much better after my "incident" yesterday. I was so tempted to look online to see what the chances of certain birth defects are, but I overcame that and just went on with my day and evening. I feel much better now! Thanks for all your well-wishes too!

Ames - I am so excited for you! Grant David is an adorable name. I am sure that all of the stress you are feeling could never compare to how wonderful it was to see your baby and find out that its a boy!

Amy - I promise that if you ask a question today, no one will think you are silly! :-) Besides, when you do find out that you are pregnant, you will have a whole new list of silly questions - believe me! I asked the doctor at about 6 weeks, when we saw the heartbeat for the first time, "Who's blood is the baby pumping? Mine or their own?" After I said it I realized how silly it sounded - but hey - I wanted to know!

Little Bear - Thinking of you! You need to find a website that lists all the "wive's tales" of starting labor and just start at the top until something happens! :-)

Martha - Thanks for the recipe! It looks yummy, although everything looks yummy to me right now!

Desp - I can't wait to actually "do something" about this baby's arrival. But, we will likely be moving in the beginning of the year, so I am in a holding pattern. Have fun rearranging!

Chels - So what was the girl name you had picked out?? DH keeps telling me that when he finds out what the baby is - it might change his mind on the names too. Maybe because it will feel that much more real??

I'll check in later!

There was a story on the news last night about quadruplets born a year ago at the hospital I'm due to deliver at! Three boys and a girl, IVF. Well, here's a product review: I just tried Lender's LC bagels. In a word: Gross! Save your money. Coffee finally smells good to me now, but doesn't sound like I want to drink a whole cup. So, I have been making Cafe au lait with skim milk and instant (eek!) coffee. Pretty good, and I know I'm getting enough milk now.

Thanks, Ames. Some doctors (like the perinatologist) say I am due on Feb. 11, not the 9th, and they keep saying at the U/S she is measuring a few days ahead, so I am so confused...we got PG with IUI, so there should be no doubt about date of conception, but they seem to have different ways of estimating due dates...but you're right! Week 21 Yay! Our babies will be Aquarius unless they're really early or really late!

Martha~Thanks for the chili recipe! I may leave out the beans, but it looks great! I cannot believe the wacky dryer laws there. WHY would it vent into the bedroom? Is that safe?

Smiley~ Hi! Aren't you lovin' the 2 Week Wait?

JennP~ I don't know why people tell stories like that to PG ladies. They just don't think. Next come the folks who love to tell you you're doing and eating the wrong things. I had someone tell me pineapple was eaten by island ladies to induce miscarriage...WHILE I was eating pineapple. Yes, this person knew I was PG.

Chels~Hi! Care to share your girl's name with us? What's the problem with it after eight years?

Dar~I thought the same thing about the PG lady on "Lost". I didn't see the end; my DH vetoed that show. We watched Dr. Pill instead. We saw all those families with out-of-control children. Great.

LittleBear~Good luck to you today! What does castor oil do exactly for labor? Yep, I knew it got other stuff moving, LOL...

Michelle~That is so sweet of your DH! You married a great one!

Good morning, ladies!

Ames-Glad you a little stress free and congratulations on the boy!!! Can't wait to see the u/s pics!

Little Bear-Oh, I wish I could've warned you ahead of time....! Castor Oil is DISGUSTING! I tried it with my son and nothing happened except what you had happen!! Oh, it was terrible! Have you tried anything else?? (sex)

Chels-Did you look up online about B2?? I'll talk to my mom about it, she studies all these types of things!

DIF-Your hubby is such a sweetie! It would probably be better off for you all to pitch in some money to throw the shower than to have to buy all the stuff you all would get at it!!

Marthad-That Chili recipe sounds deliscious!

SmileyAmy-Praying for you....I would go nuts if I was in your situation! It is almost like waiting for Christmas to open your presents!!

If anyone would like to check out pics of my "nephew" here is a website. The girl in the first pic is my SIL. The lady in the scrubs with the adoptive mom is my MIL!! homepage.mac.com/schoew/gavin_monroe/PhotoAlbum2.html

Hope everyone has a great day! Hello to anyone after me!

GetNSlim ~ Your nephew is so sweet. The new parents look so happy - your SIL did a wonderful thing for her child and the new family. Hugs to her.

Yeah, it is like Christmas...I am so tired of waiting. And, it terrifies me that I may need to go through this again next month and the next and the next. Who knows. I don't want to "hope" too much - it would only let me down to see a negative. I keep waiting for symptoms. I know everyone is different but you all talk about your boobs killing you and feeling sick. All I feel is slight soreness and as of yesterday slight crampy feeling and a small amount of faint pink blood when I wipe. I am hoping these are all good signs - but who knows it could just be TOM - although I don't usually have these symptoms. Sorry to rant again...these two weeks have been killing me. Only two days though - two days - I can do it.

And, thanks to all you other ladies who keep my spirits up and who are thinking of me and listening to all my "silly" questions.

Jenn ~ Good point about all the new questions I will have whenever I do become pregnant! I never thought of that. Boy, you guys are in for a good time with me and my questions.

Morning ladies! You guys are chatty today!! I'm offically 32 weeks today!!

I was late to work this morning because I had to take DH to work. His car is having problems and we had to take it into the shop. I'm praying it doesn't cost a fortune. Man, I hate car trouble!!

We had a baby class last night. It was called Baby Care Basics and covered how to take care of a newborn. It was interesting. I'm glad we went.

Ames: I'm still praying that something good works out for you shift wise!!

littlebear: I'm sorry the castor oil didn't work. I can't imagine how frustrated you are.

chels: Morning!!!

DFL: I'm glad you got some sleep! I'm jealous! And that is so sweet of your DH!! What a keeper!

Martha: Thank you for posting that recipe! It sounds divine!!!!

Smiley: You silly girl! You have no idea how many questions I asked when I was TTC. Don't ever feel bad for asking!!

Jenn: Yay! I'm glad someone noticed your belly! I was so excited when that happened to me too!

Kelley: Mmmm... coffee sounds so good right now! No I'm craving it!! LOL!

HOLA GIRLS!

Okay, well I figured my last period started on July 10, so that would mean I'm 10weeks and 5days, and I'm due April 16. I'll probably have to change it when I confirm with my midwife, but we'll go with this for now.

AMES - Prayin' for a good shift! I like the name Grant too!

LITTLEBEAR - I'm so sorry. I know it feels like they're never going to come out. They will though... I promise.

HI CHELSEA!

MICHELLE - Sounds like you have a very sweet hubby!

MARTHA - YES! I like to call it Placenta Brain. (I borrowed the term from someone, but can't remember who... )

That recipe sounds awesome!

AMY - I promise, you'll get that little angel in your own time!

GETN - He's a cutie pie! I also want to be accountable this pregnancy... I'll post mine with you!

SARAH - you don't have to spend too much on the car repairs.

Breakfast - Isreal Melon
Snack - Pickles and LF string cheese (nope, not at the same time LOL!)
Lunch - Turkey spaghetti made w/spaghetti squash
Snack - LF string cheese or salad
Dinner - I really want spaghetti again! LOL

Hello everyone! So I am feeling slightly crampy this morning, a little earlier than usual for TOM, so maybe that's a good sign? Who knows though- I'm certainly not to be trusted, since I see pregnancy symptoms in EVERYTHING lately. Honestly, everything. Things that would have no meaning whatsoever to a sane person, I read into as something huge. I took a four hour nap on Sunday? Maybe I'm pregnant. I burst out crying for no apparent reason yesterday? Maybe I'm pregnant. I disgustingly devour an entire half a cantaloupe? Maybe I'm pregnant. And so on. I really am crazy. (where's the self-effacing eye-roll smiley when I need it?!?!)

Ames- I love the name Grant- I think it's one of those rare names that works out well as a child's name AND as an adult's name.

Chelsea- what is the girl name you had picked out? (sorry if you've been over this, I'm new)

DFL: Awwwww to your cute DH. Dontcha just love it when they're sweet like that?

Martha- that chili sounds YUMMY! Now, who wants to come make it for me?

little bear- I'm crossing all my fingers and toes for you that it'll happen SOON.

Smiley- I've got my fingers crossed for you too- well, half of them for me, half for you. Maybe both of us will be lucky this month! And if not, there's always next month.

Jenn- Yay for people noticing! That's got to make it feel SO real.

GetNSlim- those pictures are SO cute. Gotta love the cowboy hat.

Anyway, hi to anyone I missed. Hope everyone's having a great day!!

Hi Mommies,

Nothing new here.....

Jefinner!!!!! Congratulations, sorry I didn´t get around to it earlier. That is so cool!

Ames, congrats on the boy! I´ve heard that if they see the penis, you are definitely having a boy. You know how skeptical I am about girls....LOL

Little Bear, hang in there! Have you asked your midwife about taking BSO or red raspberry leaf? Not that any of that is helping me....I just couldn´t bring myself to try castor oil, don´t even know if I can buy it here in Mexico.

Strawberry Girl, a late welcome and hope the crampiness means implantation!

Martha, the chili sounds great. I´ll try that recipe after the baby is born. I´m not much into cooking now...

Hi to everyone else!

So far today I have taken my BSO, had a cup of red raspberry leaf tea, DH and I went back to bed for a while after he took Max to school, then we went power snorkeling for an hour. I´m seriously considering spending the day with clothes pins on my nipples LOL.

I´ll check in again this afternoon. We are going to Paco´s Taco stand for lunch, everyone says it´s the best taco in town.

Nicole, where are you today?

Saludos,

Suzanne

No, but i will when i see her on monday - thanks!

The castor oil wasn't that bad, all mind over matter. The key was to just swallow it quickly then chase it with something to drink. I just with it was doing something///
