Good morning ladies!

I am in a much better mood today. I think I slept better even though I had to get up and pee a whopping 4 times yesterday compared to my usual 2!

Wow, you sure do get popular when people find out you are pregnant. I haven't been to church much the last few months because I've been so sick and a lot of people have been on vacation.....so today me and another girl that is due a week ahead of me got attacked in the narthex, LOL! Within 10 minutes we had people commenting on our "cute" bellies and that it is so neat that we are due so close together, and a few people said they'd make sure to be at the shower (I'm guessing the church is going to give me one ) and one lady even asked us over for dinner! Anyway, I was kind of shocked at all the attention, because we really aren't involved in extra stuff at church because of mine and my husband's work schedules, so we really don't know anyone well. It was kind of fun though.

Well Florida mommies, I think the models are starting to zero in on the track of Ivan. They have been consistenty been turning it north and it is finally starting to take a northerly track as we speak. The good news is that the worse of it should miss most of Florida and it will probably weaken due to drier air and shear aloft moving in from a front that is going through the midwest today. The bad news is that there is still very warm sea surface temperatures just north of Cuba with little shear, so it could strengthen more before starting to weaken. This means that wherever it hits (probaby the Florida panhandle) it will still be a very destructive storm. We'll keep you all in our prayers ladies!

Well, that is all for now. Have a great week everyone!

Amy

*shakes cobwebs from head* Man did I have a night of strange dreams! As this pregnancy gets further along, they get stranger!!

We go for out u/s today at 5:30 to hopefully get a better shot of the sex. I can't wait to see our little one again. Hopefully it'll sit still as it's been bouncing around in there all weekend!

Ames...ty for the Ivan update. We have cautiously been optimistic since Sat. but still watching it. It sure slowed down!! We too show the projected path as the Florida panhandle. for those who are affected.

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I am still feeling pregnant, so that is a plus. I had a bit of a tumble this weekend, but fortunately I didn't land hard on my stomach or rear end. We were at the Georgia Tech/Clemson game in S.C. this weekend. Tech won with 16 seconds on the clock, and we were all jumping for joy.......of course the pregnant one finds a gaping whole between the bench we were on and the one below and takes a dive!!! Fortunately, my leg took all of the force, but I have the biggest, ugliest bruise that wraps around half of my calf. I don't know what I am going to do the rest of the football season.......... They might have to chain me to my seat!!

I have to make it two more days before my first u/s. You guys got me through two weeks! Thank you so much!! I think I will be seven weeks tomorrow. The due date, I believe, will be close to our 4 year anniversary.

MrsSarah, when you pop in today let me know if you have been exercising. I am concerned about my weight gain. Well, I haven't weighed yet. But when I get a starting point, I'd like to keep it around 15 pounds like most of the books suggest for overweight women. I know you've done a good job. How are you eating?

Hope to hear from everyone else. Would love to know how they are doing. Desperate - check in with us when you can after the u/s.

Amy - Thanks for the update. It sure is handy having you around.

Has anybody heard from LivnLGNOmore or NaturalMama23? Just trying to keep the list tidy and they are the only ones moving up the list with no due dates. I searched their user names to find out what they've been up to. LivnLGNOmore hasn't posted on the boards since the end of June and NaturalMama23 hasn't posted on this thread since the second day after she said she was pregnant. From browsing the titles of the threads I'm pretty sure that she's not pregnat based on this thread:

? 4 PCOS Ladies & Anyone use OvuSoft?

I don't want to take them off if they're still around, but the list is getting really long, LOL! So what would you ladies who have been around here do?

If you ladies are lurking around please come out and play!

Amy

GoJackets~ Yeah! Way to go Jackets! I am so out of touch here. You will have to help keep me informed on how Tech is doing this football season. Hope your bruise heals quickly.

I was reading an article at the OB's office on Friday about the Cosco Alpha Omega carseat that can be used rear-facing for infants and front facing for toddlers. Anybody have an opinion on this seat? It sounded like a really good investment and Sears has it on sale for $99, vs $145 regular price.

Ames~I would think you could take naturalmama23 off the list if she posted that she had a TOM and wasn't ttc. But maybe it would be better to send her a PM before doing so.

Ames, thanks so much for the Ivan update. There are still no schools in session around TB today.. even hubby doesn't have class! Grrr!!! He was shocked when I saw that online last night. Ah.. community college. It's like college lite.

Anyways, when do you update the list? I was all geared up to see W9 next to my name. LOL..

Dena, as of this morning, I've gained 6.5 #. I think. Well, I think I already had a couple on before we had a + test, so I guess I can go by what the dr. tells me tomorrow. Anyways.. feeling very fat. But I think it's due to being bloated and all that. I feel like I lose 10 pounds every time I have a bm, but before that I feel like I've gained 20. It's so uncomfortable.

Did anyone notice.. before you bought maternity clothes, that when you ate you would not fit in your clothes comfortably? I'm finding that I need to change into shorts with elastic bands after dinner, I get so full.

Morning Mommies-

The nursery is done!!!!! YAH!!! I will try to post pictures later this week. We just got done late last night about 9:00- His room is small - but cute. I have to go this weekend to buy a few items but we are pretty much prepared. I still have to pack my bag.

I have to take Jessica to the doctors this afternoon for her dog bite- It swelled up and looks like it might be infected. Poor baby -

Little Bear and Suzanne- How are you feeling??

Dena- sorry about the fall- at least your team won- LOL!

Ames- Glad you are in a better mood-

DSFL- Good luck at U/S !!!

Jen- That car seat sounds like a good investment to me-

Hi Dar- I had keep my weight gain down until this last month- My total gain has been 20 pounds- But I can deal with that. I mainly tired to eat healthy- Lots of fruits, veggies, milk- not to many carbs- I also tired to walk a lot and stay busy- the last 3 weeks have been the worst for me and I gained 10 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks- But I think some of that is due to swelling. I hope not to gain anymore over the next two weeks- but I am not sweating it. The doctor says I am doing great.

Oh, yeah, Dena, I forgot to say sorry about the fall! I hope it heals quickly! I'm a clutz, and bruise so easily.

I was watching some show on tv yesterday about 'alternative' birth plans. One lady wanted to do a water birth for her first birth ever. Forgive me, but the first time around, I want to do it the old fashioned way.. dr's and all. Once I know what happens, maybe then I'll try something different. But, that's just me. Anyways, this woman was freaking out, howling like crazy. Rob was laughing. Well, he then turns to me and tells me that he may laugh at me when I start howling in pain. I told him that if his life depended on it, he wouldn't. I know him.. I know he thinks lots of things are funny (like when I fell out of a golf cart... now that was a bruise)... but if my life or his child's life are on the line, I really doubt he's going to laugh at me. I told him I bet he'll even cry. He actually agreed with me there.

Someone remind me why we actually need men again?! J/K.

Hi everyone!! Happy Monday...

Ames ~ Glad your mood has gotten better - good for both you and DH! That is funny about the ladies at church. I guess new babies are so exciting...

DespInFL ~ Can't wait to hear how the u/s went!! I am sitting on the edge of my seat!

Dena ~ Glad you are still feeling pregnant!! And, glad we were able to "get you through it" - but you did the work. Stay positive. Ouch about the bruise...take it easy girl!

karatejen ~ Hi!!

Darlene ~ Don't worry about gaining - I guess it happens. That is funny about having to change into elastic waist stuff.

Kristen ~ Yeah about the nursery. Can't wait to see pictures!!

So, I am a new step-auntie!! My stepbrothers fiance had a baby boy yesterday! Trace Xavier is his name - they haven't picked out a middle name yet. Sad thing is, I won't really get to know him as I am in Massachusetts and they are in Canada. I only get up there once a year. Oh well...I will post pictures when I get them!!

Also, I think I asked this last week, but with all my questions on ovulation - I forgot about it.

I went cloths shopping last week and instead of getting my actual size in sweaters, I got one size bigger - just in case!

Did anyone else do this?

Hi to anyone I missed!!

I didn't do it before I got pregnant, but only because we weren't TTC. My pregnancy was more of a happy oops. I was fortunate that I had lost about 20lbs before becoming pregnant, so I was able to go up through my larger clothes before buying maternity clothes. But I have bought maternity clothes 1 size larger than I expected to need and it has worked out pretty good. I am not a cute "basketball" belly pregnant lady. I have been putting my weight on all over, so the larger sizes have been nice.

Morning Mommies,

Nothing new here, still pregnant. I´d just as soon wait until Hurricane Ivan has passed. My FIL the meteoroligist thinks the eye will pass about 200 miles from us, so we´ll get tropical storm strength winds. I guess we´ll wait for the 1 PM update to decide if we need to evacuate. We can just see the leading edge of the clouds approaching now but there´s not much wind here. No waves either but we are sheltered by Cozumel.

Smiley, I haven´t bought a sweater in 7 years but I did buy 5 pairs of shorts that are 2 sizes too big for my maternity wardrobe.

Dar, I wish I had tried to do a natural home birth the first time, anything would have been better than the unnecessary cesarean I had. And being VBAC makes it so much harder for me this time.

Ames, when I was the early riser I would PM people that hadn´t posted in a long time. If they didn´t respond in a week, I´d trim their names. I think that´s fair. What does everyone else think?

I´ll try to pop back in after the 1 PM hurricane update. If not, that probably means we don´t have power or internet.

Saludos,

Suzanne

Ok, I just PM'd them both. I think a week is fair.

I'll pray that the storm passes you! I've heard that the lower pressure from the storm can put women into labor. I hope that doesn't happen to you!

Ok, my sweetie want to get online now....I'm gonna go shower. Check back in a bit!

Happy Monday! (blech!)

I will be 19 weeks this week and am still not showing much. I can really tell when I look straight down, but not from the side. Weird. I really think she is popping inward rather than out, because: I REALLY have to pee, then only about one ounce comes out, intestinal distress, and this past week I feel like my stomach is in my throat! I even have a "roll" just under my ribcage that I have never had before, that's just not where I put on weight. I poke it and it's my stomach. Plus the heartburn! I am still in most of my "regular" clothes, but thank God I got several pair of drawstring Ralph Lauren pants that seem to accomodate my strange proportions now.

Ames~Thanks for the weather updates.
for the Caribbean and Florida.

Desp~ Good luck at your U/S! Let us know! I hope it "stays" girl! (That IS what you wanted, right?)

GoJ~Ouch! Take care of yourself! Football frenzy can hurt, LOL! Yay on your u/s in two days!

Dar~ I think I'd want a "traditional" birth the first time too, although now I am really re-thinking the epidural after reading up on them. The idea is scary to me anyway, much more so than the amnio! I watch the birth shows on TLC sometimes and I really don't want to be a "screamer", though! I saw a special on Sting and his wife delivered their fourth (?) baby on camera and she was so quiet and focused. She's really "natural" anyway, so I don't know if she had an epidural but it would surprise me if she did.

Kristen~ I can't wait to see your baby's room! I didn't hear about your DD's dog bite incident, I hope she feels better! Is she leery of all dogs now? poor babe.

Smiley~ Congrats on being a new step-Auntie! How is the "Two Week wait"? I bought one new thing a few sizes bigger (a ski parka, since it gets so cold and snowy here in the winter), but mostly I "forget" I'm PG while shopping, and buy whatever looks "cute", then when reality sets in I have to return it. This has happened to me several times. My big downfall is shoes. I love those cute little boots with heels, but I have a feeling they will be a tad impractiacal for me pretty soon. Clogs for me I guess...

Jen~That carseat does sound like a good deal! I look up baby stuff on Epinions, since so many people give ratings and reviews. (Ooh Cyn posted a link, Yay! Hi Cyn!)

Suzanne~ Stay safe! Where would you evac to? back home? I hope you can stay put. Any signs of labor?

Little Bear~ Any real labor yet for you?

GetNSlim~I was inspired by your post yesterday with your 45 minute workout with the jogging stroller! Was that while PG? Did you jog or walk? I jogged up until too much m/s, now I'm lucky to walk the dog every day! Today I will start my leg lift and hand weights again...(been three weeks).

I am still in most of my "regular" clothes, but thank God I got several pair of drawstring Ralph Lauren pants that seem to accomodate my strange proportions now.
Is it frustrating NOT to see your stomach pop out? I want to be one of thos PREGNANT pregnant ladies - if that makes sense. I think I would get frustrated if I didn't look pregnant.

The two week wait is going okay. I am just dying to know if anything took. I keep thinking "two weeks is not that long - two weeks is not that long" I so just want the two weeks to be up NOW!! But, I don't want my hopes to get up because it may not even happen. Then I will have to start all over.

Hay girls....

So many of you have had your babies already.

Just to weigh in on the labor issue.

My first was natural, no drugs, no epidural, and I didn't even whimper, not because I am super strong, or it didn't hurt, (cause it did) but because I was using so much effort and concentrating so hard on getting him out, that I honestly couldn't scream.
Plus the dr told me if you are making too much noise you arent putting your energy where it needs to be.

Second baby I had an epidural, and it was nice heaven!!, the only side effect I had was that I itched really bad when it was wearing off, they gave me a shot of Benedryl and I was fine

Good luck everyone.

Cari

At least in this case, "starting over" is fun! Hope you don't have to.

Thanks Cynthia!

I read through some of the reviews from both sites. I noticed that the first several on epinions were more negative than on the target site. But I also noticed that those on epinions were written in 2000 and 2001, whereas the ones on the target site were within the last several months. It makes me wonder if Cosco has improved the design in the last several years....hmmmmm?

Anybody know anyone who has used one of these for a newborn? One of the target reviewers had, and she said she had no problems. We were given an infant carrier from family, but thought this might be a good seat for our other car.

Those in your late second or thired trimester, have you given much thought to your birthing plan?

I haven't gotten that far, nor had any birthing classes, but I've always had it in my head I would go natural.

What are your thoughts for your own deliveries?
