Good morning ladies.

I'm feeling better now, but I got a headache before going to bed and took some tylenol. Unfortunately, I woke up with a worse headache and was a little nausious. I didn't take anymore tylenol, because I think it's just about worthless and it seems to upset my tummy anyway. Finally, the headache seems to have subsided, but now I just feel really grouchy.

Anyway, haven't looked too close at Ivan since I'm covering the Pacific tonight, but the last few runs have it going more toward the panhandle of Florida instead of hugging the coast. The thing that I'm concerned about is a front that is on the west coast right now. If that meets up the same time Ivan comes near Florida (which one model does have) then it could help weaken the storm due to shear. However, that will drive the storm to take the track hugging the coast, which could affect a lot more areas. Otherwise sea surface temps are still very warm south and north of Cuba, so strengthening seems likely before reaching the keys. So that's my observation in a nutshell. No definates....to many factors, LOL. Ok, laughing aside this is still a serious storm and we all need to pray for the safety of the Floridians.

Ok ladies, where can you buy maternity brief underwear? I was just going to buy my favorites in two sizes up, but that puts me in the plus size which is a lot more expensive. So I decided since I'll probably be growing faster now in my belly maybe I should use the money to just buy maternity briefs. All I've found so far was bikinis and high cut briefs. I refuse to wear either one as they always see to ride up my crotch which I absolutely detest. So, where is a good place to find some comfy undies for a reasonable price?

Well, I guess that's all for now. Better get back to work. Talk later!

Ames....sorry about your headache. I had them all the time my first trimester but thankfully I haven't had one in weeks.

Hubby and I decided last night to go out for some dinner and try to set an evacuation plan in place just in case. We have no family in the area and all of our friends are in floodzones as well. From news reports we're told all hotel rooms are booked due to the millions evacuated from the keys. So as of now, if we go somewhere....we're simply loading up the cars, the dog and going with some friends of his to SC to stay with his friends parents. We're simply waiting for some confirmation on the storm once it passes Cuba. Right now I'll take the track it's showing as the only thing we'd deal with is the flooding from our bay seawall.

After dinner, it took us an hour and 30 minutes to find a gas station that had gas!! Stopped at a store real quick....and thankfully I didn't need bread, as there wasn't a loaf in the place. Hurricane "anxiety" sure has set in.

I finally got to sleep last night and slept fitfully. Curious....anyone else had a pressure sensation in their hiney's?? I had a CSection with my son...but it almost felt like the sensation to push. I'm not constipated...so I wondered if the lil lump was perhaps resting comfortably on something creating the sensation.

We're very excited about our u/s on Monday....keeping fingers crossed the weather doesn't keep it from happening!

Have a great weekend everyone....we're going to run some errands this morning then just try to relax until we know our fate.

Morning, everyone. Trying to stay relaxed here, too. Had dinner with some friends last night and their 3 month old, so that was fun. I got to feed him with his bottle. I felt like a dunce. LOL.

Anyways, plan for us is to just wait and see. We filled up on gas (found one gas station in the boonies that had gas.. paid a few extra pennies but it was worth it - no one else had gas or else you had to wait an hour). I'll probably get a little more water, go to the butcher and get meat for the grill. Other than that, not much to do right now.

If we do leave, we're just going to drive north, I think. Our closest family is Indiana.. we may just go all the way. With two cats and two dogs, it would be hard to find an accomodating hotel.

Other than that.. pregnancy wise, I just feel so bloated. I've only been having bm's every couple of days, and feel totally gassy in between. It's really uncomfortable and embarrasing. I believe I'm eating enough fiber, so I don't know what else to do.

Well, hubby's off to mow the lawn before the rains come. I'd better find something to do to make myself look productive, or he might ask me to help.

Good morning ladies!! I had my doctors appointment yesterday... They didn't give me pictures this time!! DANG IT!!

But the appointment was good. They measured his head, femur and tummy. I am 30 weeks, and his head is measuring 34 weeks... The doctor said that overall he is measuring 2 weeks big. His feet are 2 1/2 inches long! HOLY SMOKES!! How am I EVER going to get him OUT???!!!

They measured the fluid surrounding him and said it looks just great! They decided to do another ultrasound in 5 weeks, so maybe I will get some pics then... who knows. He's weighing in at about 3 lbs 8 oz...

Amy: I'm sorry to hear about the headache. They are no fun that's for sure. As far as maternity briefs, I bought mine at Motherhood Maternity. They had two kinds for me (I'm plus sized). They had 100% cotton in 3 packs and they were $13.50 and then they had cotton/lycra (which I bought) in 2 packs for $9.98. The cotton/lycra blend were my fav because they are so stretchy and comfortable.

DFL: Fitful sleep...boy do I know how that is! I haven't had the pressure you describe, mine has mostly been in my hips. I wish I could say that it gets better... but... it really doesn't. Do you sleep with a pillow between your legs? That really helps me.

Dar: I went through a period of constipation too. I bought some fiber supplements. It really helped.

Hi Mommies,

Still here, still pregnant....

Little Bear, good luck! It sounds like your water did break, but then the baby put pressure on it and stopped the flow. That can happen especially a small, low break near the baby´s head. I suppose you are a mommy by now.

Nicole, if you pass me by, too, I am going to get really depressed....

Mrs Sarah, I love that photo you posted yesterday. Several times a day you can see my baby´s heel poking out the side and I can feel the toes sometimes. The knee is pretty easy to find, too. When DH asks what it feels like, I tell him it´s just like Alien but not that painful yet.

Dar, Desp, Jenn and all the other FL people, wishing you the best of luck.

Dar, that cracks me up about your DH mowing the lawn, I´d be on my way out of town.

Ames, all through this pregnancy I´ve been wearing Jockey bikini underwear. Not the high cut ones but the regular bikinis that aren´t super bikinish. They don´t give me wedgies and they don´t roll down in the front, but that might be because I´m not so big this time.

My cervix is still closed but I think it is opening just a little bit!!! I hope, I hope, I hope. On one hand, I am so impatient to have this baby, on the other hand my sciatica is so bad I can hardly walk so I want the baby to wait until I feel better. The good news is that my back only really bothers me when I walk or stand up. So I hope I´ll be able to birth this baby naturally as planned.

Hasta pronto,

Suzanne

Morning ladies....I don't usually post on the weekends. My computer at home is horrible, but I figured I would pop in. Gives me an excuse to stop cleaning the house.

Ames ~ Sorry about your headache. Hope is goes away soon and your mood gets better.

DFL ~ Hope everything goes well with Ivan and that you don't have to evacuate. And, I hope you get a better nights sleep - although with living in FL, I am sure that is a slim chance. Godd luck with your u/s on Monday!!

Dar ~ Did it feel good to feed a baby? You must have been imagining the whole time what it would be like to be holding/feeding your own. I know whenever I see a baby or hold one, I sort of imagine what it would be like if it was my own.

Sarah ~ Having an u/s must be so exciting. I have been addicted to those baby shows lately and I keep thinking "OH, my God - how does a thing that large fit out a hole that small!?!" So, I understand what you are thinking. Although, women have been doing it forever so I guess it works.

Suzanne ~ Getting close now!! Take it easy and I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well!

Well, DH and I baby danced last night...we were getting into it and then I remembered that I should finish after him - which doesn't happen often - so I had to slow myself down. We had to come up with a signal so he could tell me when he was close and then I could get back into it. He decided that the signal would be that he would smack my A$$...Men!! Couldn't he come up with something more original? ((insert rolley eyes))

We plan on baby dancing one more time tonight - just for good measure...and then taking a short break.

So, we will see...hopefully something took this week.

Good morning (almost afternoon)!!! Got up and cleaned and vaccumed out the mini van this morning, so that is why I haven't posted until now! Ever feel like you are going in circles and not getting anywhere?!? Anyway, all's good here...went to a movie last night with a friend of mine and didn't even eat any sweets there!! I was so proud of myself!! We went to Cellular...and it was good. I think DH and I might go to Open Water tonight, that would be fun! Everything good here pregnancy wise...same ole, same ole!

Ames-Sorry 'bout the headache...hope your nausea stays away!

DIF and Dar- Hope everything works out for you and that you don't have to leave!! What a bummer! Glad everything is going well with your babies!

Sarah-Bummer about the pics. When they do your u/s do they them in 3D? Your baby sounds like it is gonna be really big! I wouldn't be surprised if it was 9 lbs!!!

ThininMex-Hope your baby comes soon! I hated wated the last few weeks!!

Amy-You and your hubby are so funny!! It cracks me up everytime I read your posts!!

Hello to anyone that comes in later!!!

Still here, still pregnant.

Having some aches and contractions but nothing super painful so i sit and wait. I guess i won't know to call the doctor till i am either in excruciating pain or see a baby emerging.

I just wish there was a sure sign that i needed to go to the hospital.....

Maybe i am going to pregnant for a couple more weeks - i am soooo confused.....

Hope others are all well.

Hi Gals!

Ugh, I had a major barf-a-rama yesterday! It felt like morning sickness form a month ago (horrendous). My pills didn't even work, and I was afraid to leave the house. I really overdid it the DAY BEFORE gardening for three hours in the sun, and I think I got dehydrated. I notice a pattern here! Every time I overdo it I suffer the next day. I guess my girl doesn't like me working hard. I will have to listen to her. Garden looks good, though.

LittleBear~I hope you see progress soon! Didn't your water break? What did your doctor say about that? Good luck!

GetnSlim~I haven't even heard of Cellular, guess I'm really behind! I want to see Open Water too but am scared I will never swim in the ocean again! Let us know how it was. Part of the reason I have stayed away from movie theaters is the smell of popcorn...and the temptation.

Smiley~That is too funny!

I hope you caught the eggie this month!

Suzanne~I'm sorry you have sciatica. I thought I had it after too much gardening, but the massage guy told me "real" sciatica goes all the way down your legs. I can't imagine how painful that must be. I hope your little one gets here soon!

Sarah~I loved that pic you posted yesterday! I wonder if it was real. It seems they can do anything with Photoshop these days! I'm sorry they didn't give you pics at your u/s. Bummer.

Dar~Stay safe! I still get bloated and gassy too. I haven't found anything to combat it. It seems to go away after a few days. Wish I had a better solution for you!

Desp~Good luck to you too and be safe! I really hope you can keep your u/s appointment on Monday. Isn't that when they confirm the sex for you?

Amy~Tylenol does suck. I don't think it helps at all, but even so I feel guilty taking it! I find a little caffeine (like diet Coke) helps as much if not more.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Kelley

Little Bear, sorry nothing has happened yet, I know the suspense must be driving you nuts. I guess it´s good that you aren´t in a lot of pain yet. I am so suspicious of every twinge I feel and most of the time it is just the baby changing positions.....

Good news here is that my cervix is completely effaced. When I check, I can feel the baby´s head on the other side. What a weird feeling!

Okay, Suzanne, that is kind of creepy.

Well, just as I was about to leave this am to head to Michael's and the butcher, I was stopped by a guy who works down at the clubhouse (he was driving around in a golf cart), and informed me they were giving away FREE plywood! So, turned around, got hubby and the neighbor, and we went down and loaded up! Bad news.. there are NOOO fasteners available at any Home Depot or Lowe's. So, we have the plywood, nothing to install it with. *sigh*

Anyways, trying to relax with Ivan turning a big, but still cautious. We have plenty of food.

Not really. I still don't feel pregnant most of the time. Dani (my friend) had David on her lap and was pointing to my belly telling him there's a baby in there. I kind of felt uncomfortable.. I have more of a tadpole than a baby. LOL.. Anyways, I felt like an idiot.. I am clueless about babies. I never babysat or was really enamored with babies when I was younger. It's a bit frightening. I had no clue if he had enough, was still hungry, should I burp him, whatever. I felt like I was going to drop him or something.

Really tired... I ended up mowing the lawn while hubby did homework. It sucked, so now I don't feel like doing anything. I don't even feel like eating dinner.

Grrr, I still feel grouchy today!

Just got back from the bathroom and there was urine and blood all over a stool. Thank goodness we have several stalls but still!.....I just hate it when women think they can pee standing up like a man....especially when TOM is visiting! That was just gross and now I'm in even a crabbier mood.

I think I'm so grouchy because I kept waking up on my back today about every hour I swear. I don't know why I kept doing that, but I would wake up feeling a lot of heaviness in my belly and my back hurting something fierce. I guess my mountains of blankets didn't help keep me on my side today.

I'd better sleep good today and get out of this grouchy funk!

Ok, maybe this is why I'm crabby! LOL, this did brighten my day I must say. I just read this on another website I visit....

Why Women are Crabby:

We start to "bud" in our blouses at 9 or 10 years old only to find

anything that comes in contact with those tender, blooming buds hurts

so bad it brings us to tears. Enter the almighty, uncomfortable

training bra contraption the boys in school will snap until we have

calluses on our backs.

Next, we get our periods in our early to mid-teens (or sooner).

Along with those budding boobs, we now bloat, we cramp, we get the

hormone crankies, have to wear little mattresses between our legs or

insert tubular, packed cotton rods in places we didn't even know we had.

Our next little rite of passage (premarital or not) is having sex

for the first time which is about as much fun as having a ramrod push

your uterus through your nostrils (IF he did it right and didn't end

up with his little cart before his horse), leaving us to wonder what

all the fuss was about.

Then it's off to Motherhood where we learn to live on dry crackers

and water for a few months so we don't spend the entire day leaning

over Brother John. Of course, amazing creatures that we are (and we

are), we learn to live with the growing little angels inside us

steadily kicking our innards night and day making us wonder if we're

having Rosemary's Baby.

Our once flat bellies now look like we swallowed a watermelon whole

and we pee our pants every time we sneeze. When the big moment

arrives, the dam in our blessed Nether Regions will invariably burst

right in the middle of the mall and we'll waddle with our big cartoon

feet moaning in pain all the way to the ER.

Then it's huff and puff and beg to die while the OB says, "Please

stop screaming, Mrs. Hearmeroar. Calm down and push. Just one more (or 10 )
good push," warranting a strong, well-deserved impulse to punch

the ***** (and hubby) square in the nose for making us cram a

wiggling, mushroom-headed 10 lb. bowling ball through a keyhole.

After that, it's time to raise those angels only to find that when

all that "cute" wears off, the beautiful little darlings morph into

walking, jabbering, wet, gooey, snot-blowing, life-sucking little poop
machines.

The teen years. Need I say more?

The kids are almost grown now and we women hit our voracious sexual

prime in our early 40's while hubby had his somewhere around his 18th

birthday.

Now we hit the grand finale: "The Menopause," the Grandmother of

all womanhood. It's either take the HR. and chance cancer in those now

seasoned "buds" or the aforementioned Nether Regions, or, sweat like a

hog in July, wash your sheets and pillowcases daily and bite the head

off anything that moves!

Now, you ask WHY women seem to be more spiteful than men when men

get off so easy INCLUDING the icing on life's cake: Being able to pee

in the woods without soaking their socks...

Now I love being a woman but "Womanhood" would make the Great

Ghandi a tad crabby. Women are the "weaker sex"? Yeah right. Bite me.

As for a pillow between my legs...OH YES!! I have a body pillow that I prop my chest/belly up on and then slide it between my legs. I'm finding it's the only way I can sleep anymore.

Suzanne & Little Bear....keeping you in thoughts and sending labor vibes your way!!! I remember those days of waiting when I had my son. In a very morbid and strange way, I think that's why I'm thankful I must have a planned C Section this time.

Smiley Amy....LOL at your hubby. That signal would never work for mine as he's constantly smacking mine whether in bed or out. Not like it's a small target either

GetNSlim....I'm envious that you can even sit in a theater that long, let alone twice in one weekend!! Last few movies I went to it was unbearable to sit still.

MadameX....congrats on the garden but sorry you paid for it. Take it easy a few days and I hope you feel better.

Doing ok here...having some ligament pain on both sides that is bothering me. Thank God it's football day!!!! No reason to be doing anything else. (God I live for football season!) Thankfully it looks like Hurricane Ivan is moving west of us and we should be clear. Still going to watch for flooding but other than that, I'm relieved I can live a normal week once again.

prodromal labor

Called the doc last night - she said what i was describing was prodromal or latent labor. Basically the contractions can last for days or longer, while little progress is made in dilation. So it's labor - but the baby isn't coming this minute.

Some people call it false labor - some man obviuosly coined that term!

So here i sit with my contractions. I lost my plug 3 days ago, and will just wait it out.

Doc said i will know it is time to come in when i can't talk through the contraction because it is so painful.

She did say it sounded like in a few days it might happen, but the more i read on the net, the more i think there is no way to tell - it will happen when it is ready.

I can't stomach the idea of going into work tomorrow and hearing the Oh you poor thing no baby yet comments, but i know that is all i will hear all day long....................

My friends call several times a day to check on me... I feel like i am dissapointing them because i haven't delivered yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, thininmex i am thinking of you, i am sure you feel much the same as i do right about now.

Hugs to all.

Amy

Little Bear, you aren´t really going to work tomorrow, are you?

Dar, sorry you have gas and bloating. Mine went away toward the end of the second trimester.

This part of Quintana Roo is preparing for Hurricane Ivan, in case it changes course. Even if it stays on the projected path, we´ll get hit with a corner of it. The marina in front of our condo has filled up with boats over night. This is the only deep water marina in the area so all the big ferries from Cancun, Cozumel, and Isla Mujeres are here. AND, they run their frigging diesel motors all night long to charge the batteries. It´s getting kind of noisy. We might have to evacuate back home just to get some peace and quiet.

Don't have time for any more personals- Trying to get the nursery done today. The carpet looks good- but he room is so small we can't figure out a good way to fit all the furniture- UGH!!!
We had such a nice day yesterday. Jessica had dance class in the morning. Then dh company picnic was at a local amusement park and then we went to a bday party- so it was very busy but nice.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!!!

Good Afternoon Mommoies -

Ames - loved the post about why women have reason to be crabby!

Smiley Amy - next time see if dh will agree to a signal of smacking himself

Littlebear and Suzanne - I'm thinking of you both. Good luck, and I hope your respective waiting isn't for too long! It'll be wierd around here without both of you expecting along with the rest of us any more, but you guys will probably be in heaven having your babies finally.

DespFL - I'm having some viscious ligament pain just to the inside of my right hip. My Mom keeps insisting it's appendacitis (thanks mom, rolls eyes). I don't follow college ball much, but we were torn this past week when we were trying to follow the New England Patriots nail biter, the Red Sox and the US Open, all at the same time, and all of which finished after midnight. Guess who fell asleep despite all the drama?

Dar20 - don't stress about it. You'll figure it out. We all started somewhere. By the time your jelly bean is like 1 week old, you'll be getting more advice than you ever wanted. The important thing to remember is that it's not rocket science: you feed 'em, you change 'em, you let 'em sleep, and you LOVE 'em. You'll make mistakes along the way, but your baby will thrive and you'll be a great mommy!

MadameX - sorry about the puke fest. Maybe you could take some time to really pamper yourself. When the baby comes you'll likely be run ragged, but nobody feels sorry for you after the first week or two. Take advantage of it now

GetNslim - a movie sounds nice, but I don't know if I could sit through one now either. I'm dying to see Farenheit 911. I might have to wait until it comes out on cable.

Hi Mrs. Sarah!

Hope you all have a nice Sunday! And to the FL Mommies (and Suzanne), perhaps the baby gods will conspire to send Ivan out into the gulf, and then cause him to implode or something. Seriously though, I hope you all stay safe and dry.

Regards,
LizzyD

"Ohhhh Rob...come here I have an idea about a signal we could use next time!!!"

I am not sure he would go for it.

Hello ladies...having a good weekend so far! I find I am able to do almost everything the same as I would (like going to the movies) even if I weren't pregnant...it just takes me a little longer! With my daughter I was actually supposed to work the day I had her. Hubby and I even went up the mountain to cut our own christmas tree down while I was pregnant with her! With my son I walked my entire pregnancy pushing my daughter in the jogging stroller for 45 minutes a day...and I found it was ALOT easier to lose the weight after I had my son! So, I am trying to continue that through this pregnancy!! My hubby and I didn't end up going to the movie. We couldn't find a babysitter. I would like to go tonight, but hubby would rather watch football! Oh well...I can take the kids for our long walk. My husband works out of town all week and is only home on the weekends...so that is why I really want to go tonight...but oh well. Anyway...I'll talk to you all later...hope everyone is having a good day!!

that ThininMex and Little Bear have their babies soon!!

Nice post about women, Ames, I TOTALLY agree with it!!

Dar and DIF- How's things looking there? Do they still think Ivan is coming your way??

Lizzy-I wanted to see that also...but wasn't willing to pay to see it in the theater! I will only spend that kind of money if I REALLY want to see something!
