Good morning ladies!

I will be getting my ultrasound within the next two weeks! I wasn't able to make my appointment yet, because the computers were down at the office so I've got to call this morning to schedule.

The appointment went well except for my husband got sick and ran to the bathroom and threw up while we were waiting to see the doctor. Not sure what caused that. He came home and took a nap and was fine and went to work tonight, so who knows. Maybe he's getting morning sickness now that I'm feeling better!

I MUST be feeling better. My eyes were opened to the amount of grime, dust and clutter in this house tonight. I kind of freaked! I tried to start cleaning a little bit, but it is overwhelming. I'll have to do it a little at a time on my nights off. I'm also making cookies for my sweetie tonight too. He's lost over 5 pounds in the last few months, just because I haven't cooked for him and he has taken on keeping up the whole house himself. Now I've got to fatten him up. At least baking cookies doesn't make me ill like the smell of meat cooking. I wish I could forget to eat like him...maybe I'd be a skinny stick too!

Well, I'd better get back to my baking. I'll let ya'll know when my ultrasound is after I make the appointment. Have a great day!

Amy

Made the mistake of getting up to check on the 5am track of Hurricane Ivan. Heard the words "possible category 5" and the very questionable track....and got anxious. I really feel bad for all these people living through the direct hits of these storms this year. In the 10 years I've lived here, I've never seen anything like this. Keeping them all in and thankful we've only gotten what we have this year in my area.

Hubby and I bit the bullet. We are going Monday at 5:30 for an u/s for the purposes of only sexing the baby. Neither one of us are comfortable planning around a "70%" that it's a girl. So hopefully we'll get a more definite shot. We're simply wanting to plan ahead as much as possible due to my csection falling immediately after Christmas (warranting no problems).

My FIL called last night and they are flying in Dec. 29-Jan. 6 to be with us and help in any way possible. Then my mother is flying in for a week. I can't wait to see them all with their new grandchild!!

Have a great day everyone!! I can't believe it's Thurs. already

Mmmmmm... cookies. Don't mention cookies!!!!

I'm doing okay here today.. quite a bit stressed, though. It took me forever to get to work, and naturally my brain wouldn't stop spinning. I'm stressing about Ivan.. hubby and I discussed leaving town if this one comes near. The house can withstand a Cat. 2 but I don't think anything can withstand a Cat. 5. So, I"m wondering if we'll be able to find plywood, if we'd be able to get out of town, thinking about what we'd take with us, etc. Our closest relatives are in Indiana. I'm stressing about bills, as usual.. but this month our renewals are due on all of our annual passes, so that's stressful. Ugh..

I actually got a pretty decent night's sleep, until the storms rolled in at 5 am. I fixed myself a snack and tried to get back to sleep. But thunder frightens my puppy and I kept feeling her flinch.

Anyways, I think I need to find some breakfast, I'm not feeling well. In some good news, I weighed myself today. I'm only up 4 pounds now.. I guess I lost a couple. That made me feel better.

COOKIES!!!! Send some over here!

Amy - Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Don't feel bad about the house...you haven't been feeling well...your carrying a baby...I think you have a good excuse!

Desperate - Good luck with your ultrasound! Hopefully you will be able to get a better view of your little one so that you can make plans!

Dar20 - I can't believe that you are going to have to weather another hurricane! I have family in FL too, and they have been so stressed with these storms. What is mother nature up to???

Well, my body is going nuts. Or maybe I am...who knows! My abdomen hurts kind of like a cross between menstrual cramps and like I worked out on an ab machine for an hour. My breasts hurt. Mostly around the nipples. It actually hurts when I walk! It is so freaky. Last night I felt a little sick to my stomach and ended up falling asleep before 10pm. That's really early for me, but it felt great to get some sleep. I cannot stand this waiting time. Every little thing that my body does is driving me out of my mind!! How do people make it through these weeks??? I am thinking about picking up some tests tonight and maybe trying one tomorrow morning. But I am sure it won't read positive so I will just end up waiting for AF to not show up anyway. I am 8 DPO, so I have about a week to wait for that day. Thank god we are leaving for vacation on Saturday...maybe that will take some stress off of my mind!

(Thanks for listening everyone!)

Morning Girls!!

Metroames ~ Mmmm...cookies. Glad you are feeling better, but sorry for your DH and his sickness though. Can't wait to hear about your u/s!

DespInFL ~ Yeah about your u/s!! Hope you get a better certainty about the girl.

Dar ~ I hope that Ivan goes in a different path or looses strength. I will be crossing my fingers for you. I feel so bad for you FL people - you are getting slammed!

jehcekah ~ I TOTALLY know how you feel. I can't stand waiting. Yesterday, I started to feel a little crampy in my lower abdomen/right above my pubic area. Get a little pain anytime I sit down and this morning, I was feeling a little woosy. So, I am like, "Am I, am I?" But I assume it is too early to be getting symptoms since we only started a week ago.

Does anyone know how early you can start getting symptoms?

GoJackets ~ How are you doing today? Feeling any better?

Also, I was wondering what everyone's real name was. I would like to keep a list. I hate referring to people who I am getting to know by usernames.

Hi to everyone else!!

Honestly, I doubt you'd feel anything that early. After conception takes place (in the tube), it takes several days for the egg+sperm (whatever this is called.. zygote? I'm not sure) to travel down to the uterus. Then, it will burrow into the uterine lining. You may feel cramps at this time.. 'implantation cramps'. This will probably coincide with the time pms cramps would normally occur. I'm sure that's why I thought I was pms-ing instead of pregnant. I had regular cramps. (I was also convinced I didn't conceive.) The week after I got my + test (about 3 weeks post ovulation), I felt light cramping in my lower abdomen near the front left.

Otherwise, I felt no 'symptoms' until week 6. Like everyone told me.. be glad when you don't have symptoms. Now I know why.

Oh, and my real name's easy.. it's in my username and my siggy.

Today is supposedly the start of when implantation happens for me. So maybe...just maybe something is happening in there!

BTW - my "real" name is Jessica.

Amy - sounds like you are getting tht burst of energy!! Take advantage of it while you can. I'm sorry DH got sick, but it's funny in a way too, I couldn't help but laugh.

aphexacid - your baby has over two weeks to keep cooking, "she's" going to be a good size! Although Wari has the record I think (10lb 2oz ).

jehcekah - it's probably too early to test, but if you think you can't wait, don't be disappointed if it is negative. I tested on day 25 after my last TOM (hypothetically 11 dpo) and got a negative. Waited a week and got a positive.

SmileyAmy - I'm doing better. I feel sick today, so that makes me happy! What screwy logic, huh? Everyone's words were so encouraging, and it is nice to know I am not alone. I had it in my head last night that I wouldn't carry this baby......I feel better today.

As far as getting symptoms, I got symptoms about a week before my TOM was due and they were like TOM symptoms, but I had fewer of them. I didn't ache around my ovaries as much as if my TOM would start, my back didn't hurt as long as it did, and I wasn't as evil as I usually am with PMS (but I am making up for that now). My boobs were quite swollen and my nipples were more sensitive than normal. I think I lost my appetite too which was a huge difference because I eat EVERYTHING when I am PMS'ing!!! The two times I have been pregnant, I suspected I was pregnant because I had fewer PMS symptoms than normal.

I'm Dena!

Morning Mommies,

Gotta go buy stuff for my older son's 6th birthday party on Saturday. It's going to be a Hot Wheels party and we've rented a moonwalk. My kids are delerious with the idea of a moonwalk IN THEIR OWN YARD THAT THEY DON"T HAVE TO GET OFF OF AFTER 5 MINUTES!!! I figure it's worth the splurge since I'm not going to be running around with them

Smiley Amy - I live in Concord (grew up here actually), and was born in Boston. Lived in Cambridge for many years after college and during grad school, met DH and talked him into moving back to my home town to raise our family. He's from Oregon then Wisconsin, so he trusted my taste in towns around here. Go Sox, eh?!

Where's Suzanne? Hasn't she usually checked in by now (crossing fingers for her)!

Wendy - your little one is beautiful! Cute pic in your avatar.

Trolly - thanks for sharing your birth story. Sorry about the c-section. I ended up with one too after 2 and a half days of labor the end of which included 14 hours of pitosin, and I only got to 5-6cm dialated and still -2 station. Once I was all healed up I totally forgot about all that and am now actually glad I don't have all of the trouble with pelvic floor muscle problem so many ladies can get from vaginal deliveries.

Good vibes to all the Florida mommies! This season is ridiculous! My Mom and my in-laws both have places in Naples and they're just wondering what both places look like (will look like), especially with Ivan sounding so serious. Hope you all stay dry and safe. Take care of yourselves!

Hey Mrs. Sarah - great job on the wedding album! I admire anyone who can be that organized. I'm so bad, I have no wedding album, no baby albums (for either of my sons ) and am the family repository for boxes and boxes of family photos that go back to the 1860's. I think I need professional help. Apparently nobody in my family has been talented/motivated enough to get their pictures into albums for several generations.

BBL, Regards,
LizzyD

P.S. My real name is Elizabeth

Oh, now that Dena mentioned it.. I didn't have the usual food cravings I have during TOM. It wasn't really obvious, just something I noticed afterwards. I usually crave chocolate (I mean, who doesn't?!) and fried chicken. Well, since starting Atkins, I craved rotisserie chicken more, but you get the point.

Hoping Suzanne is doing well. Her baby is due on MY mommy's b-day.. wondering if she'll make it that late!

Yeah, I pretty much knew it was WAY too early to be having symptoms but I think I am just grasping for any hope...ya know? I am sure you all do. Well, TOM isn't due until October 1st, so I guess I will just sit tight and do a few more baby dances for good measure before then.

Lizzy ~ Do you live near Arena Farms? Wait or is that in Lincoln? I don't know. Kinda cool to live near someone! Go Red Sox!!

Crud, that's right, I forgot about the c-section date! So many ladies on this board!!!! It's actually the 10/21 due date.

Are you nervous about the c-section?

Hi ladies. Just got my appointments scheduled. My ultrasound is set for September 22nd! I only have to wait a few more weeks!

Well, to make you all feel better about the cookies. I caved and had a few (since I restrained myself from the cookie dough...oooh I love cookie dough). They were ok, but not as great as I remember (hmmm, it seems that's been the trend for all sweet things I've tried so far...thank you Atkins! ). But then I had a terrible sugar rush followed by an awful sugar crash, bleh! That'll teach me to eat sugary food again...ok I'm gonna have to do it at least two more times...once before my ultrasound to get the baby moving, LOL and then that dreaded glucose test...I can just imagine the sugar crash I'll get from that stuff.

My sweetie got a good nights rest and is feeling much better today. Now that I seem to have gotten my energy back, hopefully I can start taking over some more of the household responsibilities and give him a break. We'll be raking leaves really soon too. We get about 50 of those large bags of mulched leaves filled every year! I do really enjoy raking leaves and taking in that crisp fall air, so hopefully I got the energy to do it this year.

Ok Amy, I'm a little confused. I don't think you are charting are you? Are you sure of your ovulation day? There is only 13-15 days after you O before TOM shows for most women. October 1st is 3 weeks away. If you O'd the other day TOM should show about a week earlier than you expect. If you are going by average length of your cycle and not charting you may not have O'd yet. Just curious.

Well, I guess I'm off to bed now. See ya'll tomorrow!

Ames

P.S. - My real name is Amy, but my nickname is Ames....since there are 4 Amy's around here I think I'll start going by Ames so I can be different, LOL!

No, I am not charting...but just kinda going by discharge. I had a lot on Monday. I am really just winging it. But, I did miscount...I am due for TOM on Sept. 24th. My periods are really regular.

Here is how they have gone the last few months:

Got period on: July 3rd, July 31st, August 27th and am due Sept 24th. Exactly 4 weeks. When would you say I would ovulate? maybe I haven't yet.

Sorry...I feel so stupid. Like I said, we are justing winging it and haven't really read up on when/how to conceive.

Hi Mommies

LizzyD- Your son's bday party sounds great. Is he looking forward to the new baby?

Ames- cookies- That sounds good!- good luck on you u/s

DFL/Dar- Hope Ivan stays away. We had some flooding in my area from Frances. I think we had 4-5 inches of rain. I live on a hill so I wasnt' affected but still just the rain was a pain.

Jessica- I have to ask - do you like your name? That is my dd name-

Suzanne- How are you feeling????

My carpet is being put in tomorrow- - I should be able to get the nursery done this weekend. Now things will really get moving!

The only thing that is still worring me is the possible strike at the hospital where I am going to delivery. You could just feel the tension in the air yesterday. They put up a big chain link fence around the parking lots - Right now the strike is still set for just one day - September 15th. So I have to wait until then to see if it will continue. My mom works at the hospital but is not union- They told her she doesn't have to come to work but she will not get paid for that day. She hasn't made up her mind if she will work or not= UGH!!!!

You just got off BCpill, right? Your cycles may vary. Mine were about 40 days the two months I was off of the pill. Some women can go several months without ovulating or go just a week. That's why I decided to chart so I would know when I ovulated. Sure enough that first month TOM showed exactly 2 weeks after my chart showed that I ovulated. The second month I took the test 2 weeks and one day after the chart showed a temp rise and got a positive.

Oh, I also check my cervical mucous and had it for about 3-4 days both months, but curiously then second month I started bleeding when I thought I O'd after the egg white mucous for a few day and my temps never rose. My mocous was yellow and sticky after that until I got the postive pregnancy test even though I had temps to prove that I ovulated two weeks later than I felt I was O'ing. So, I didn't have the egg white mucous when I ovulated the second month.

Anyway, don't count on regular 4 week cycles if you just got off the pill....but once you do ovulate expect TOM about 2 weeks later. Hope that helps!

That is HORRIBLE...why would anyone want to play a trick like that on someone. I think that is mean. Not to mention a shady way to make money on ebay! That woman is sick! Just my opinion.
