Good morning ladies!

I have my doctor's appointment this morning. Looking at the schedule looks like they'll be taking more blood. I don't mind too much since they seem to be able to find a vain easily (must be all the water I drink ), but I still bruise bad. Oh well, life goes on, eh? We should be able to schedule our ultrasound tomorrow too. Looking at the schedule it should be in 2 weeks, but I'm not sure.....is the ultrasound done separately from a regular prenatal appointment? I hope it's not in another 4 weeks. I'm getting antsy to find out what the baby is, so I can quit calling it "it".

Hi mom2twoboys! I read your thread from yesterday. I had the same mind set as you: keeping lower carbs and exercising, but that all went out the window when the morning sickness struck. I have been able to get away from grains (they were making me bloated anyway) and I watch my sugar but otherwise I don't worry too much about carbs. Good luck staying low carb if you can! Oh, I added ya to the list if that is ok. I hope you'll join us in our daily discussions!

Well, I'm off to hem some maternity pants. They're my specials from Sears that I got last month. They were a little long, but they fit great in the butt and thighs and I will just clip them up in front till my belly grows into them. For 4 pairs of pants for under 20 bucks I just couldnt' pass them up. Thank goodness for sewing machines!

Well, that's all for now. Have a happy Hump Day everyone!

Amy

Amy....good luck at your appointment!! As for the u/s, it probably will depend on your doctor/when they want you to have it for anatomy measuring/if they do it in house or if you go elsewhere. My son's OB did it elsewhere so it was a seperate appointment. But my OB now does them in office so it was part of my next prenatal appointment. I know how hard it was to wait....hopefully you won't have to

We're doing good here....just enjoying my midnight Tums to get rid of the indigestion. I swear I could eat chicken broth for dinner and still get it Although, I finally had a good night's sleep last night!! Between the storms and my 40 lbs. basset that insists on sleeping right beside me, it can be difficult. But she stayed by daddy last night and we had no rain, so dreamland was blissful (well minus the strange dreams).

Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Morning, everyone. I'm at home right now. Not that it's a bad thing.. but I TRIED to go to work. Well, my two ways to work are flooded, and traffic is diverted. Yesterday it was no problem. Today, school is back in session.. and all hell broke loose. I sat in traffic for 20 minutes, didn't get but 100 feet from the entrance to my neighborhood, and said to heck with it! I'd still have 6 more miles to go before the diversion. Ugh.. So, I sent an e-mail to my boss and will try again later.

Anyways, it's kind of nice becuase I had trouble sleeping again last night. I'm SO tired, but cannot get comfortable. I can still sleep on my stomach with no problem, but I alternate between hot and cold, and my joints ache.. and I'm just a mess. Argh..

Stomach muscle pain??

Has anyone experience pain or soreness in their stomach muscles? From my rib cage down, I feel like I've been doing lots of sit-ups - and no, I haven't . And it's felt this way for the past week. Very weird. Is this normal?

Anyways, off to find some breakfast..

I was so happy last night. We finally had our power restored and I got some sleep. We were even doing the "happy power dance" as we pulled in the driveway last night and saw lights on in the house!! Now, if we could get the phone and cable to work....but hey I can live without those (just no internet at the house now) for a while. "Happy Power Dance"!!!

Schools are still out up here. Too many of them don't have power and some need to be cleaned up. It helps make traffic lighter, even though I am sure it really causes problems for people with kids.

Desp~I understand about the midnight Tums. I can be heard rattling that bottle every night during my first bathroom break. I am almost out and need to go by some more.

Dar~hope you can get to work today.

We have the first of three childbirth classes tonight. The class is from 7 - 9:30. I can't possibly imagine what they will talk about for 7.5 hours total, but we'll find out.

'Morning All!

I had a check up yesterday. I have gained 6 pounds in the past 3 weeks. Eek. Can't keep that rate up. My doc was about to say something till she saw that I had lost a bit due to m/s in the beginning.
I woke up with what I thought were BAD cramps or even contractions on Monday morning. I was scared. Turns out, I really needed to poop. I'm still not showing much, but I think the baby is growing inwards more than out! She is dancing on my intestines.

Amy~I had to go to a special office (Maternal Fetal Medicine) for my in-depth u/s at 13 weeks and will go again at 20 weeks. I think their u/s machine is more sensitive than the one at my doctor's office, and the techs are amazing. At 15 weeks, they saw that all organs were in the right place, the four chambers of the heart, the brain and spine, checked for cleft lip, etc. She even got the sex right, although 15 weeks is early. Every doctor seems to do it differently, though.

Desp~I'm sorry about the heartburn. Yay for Tums!

Dar~Wow! If you couldn't get to school, maybe the kids couldn't either? Is it just traffic or what?

KarateJen~Yay for power! Yay for school out! I need to think about signing up for those childbirth classes too. Let me know how it goes!

Smiley~ I hope you did the deed yesterday if you think it was O-day! I don't think baby dancing every day is a problem if there are no issues and if you feel like it. Good luck!

Suzanne~You belly pic is awesome! You are all baby. How are you feeling?

Sarah~Wow, you guys camp a lot! That sounds so fun. My DH SAID he liked to camp when I met him, but we have not gone once since we met, 7.5 years ago! I love camping. My multiple trips to pee in the night might be a problem in the wilderness though, LOL.

BBL!

Morning ladies!

I don't know what's up lately, but I've been experiencing a lot of nausea again. On Friday when we were driving up to go camping I got horrible nausea. We had to pull over for awhile because I thought I was going to toss my cookies. I didn't fortunately, and I chalked it up to car sickness. Well, I got it again last night and later I felt faint and really hot. I laid down and felt better. I felt a few waves of nausea this morning as well, but nothing terrible. Any of you third trimester mom's experience this?? It's new to me as I haven't had morning sickness since 17 weeks. Maybe I'm coming down with something.

Amy: Good luck at your appointment!! And awesome deal on the maternity pants!!

DFL: I hear ya on the indigestion. It sucks!! I feel ya on the dog issue too, as we have 2 in our bed!

Dar: Yuck! Everything sounds like it's a mess where you are!! I'm glad you can stay home and get some rest... you need it!

Jen: Yay!! POWER!! Good luck at your child birthing classes. I REALLY need to decide if I'm taking those or not...

Kelley: Camping has been interesting since being pregnant. I love it, but I hate having to get up at night to pee. Fortunately I can go to my parents trailer, but I have to walk outside to get to it and I'm scared of the dark in the woods. I'm always afraid something is going to jump out at me.

I'm at work now. Bummer. I don't know what the deal was this morning. See, when I leave my neighborhood, to go the 'back way' (i.e. no traffic lights, but a two lane country road), I turn left. To go the civilized, yet more congested and pain in the ass way, I turn right. To my knowledge, the back way is flooded. So, I have to go right. And, from what I knew yesterday, that was also partially flooded (they were diverting traffic on the higher lanes). So, EVERYONE had to go that way, there is NO OTHER WAY, and I'm stuck on my road for 4 miles just to get to the main thoroughfare. I couldn't take it, and turned around and went back home!

I'll have to ask hubby what the holdup was, since he left 10 minutes before me to get to school. By the time I left and came to work, the 'civilized' way was no longer flooded! So, what's with the traffic?! I sure hope they gave the kids a break who were super late to school today. Makes me miss the grid patterns of the north. LOL...

My brother called last night. He had a friend in town so he hadn't had a chance. He also got his picture frame Saturday. He sounded excited to be an uncle.

I'm also jealous of Sarah's camping! I love camping, and we used to go about every summer weekend when I was a kid.. we really roughed it.. with tents!!! LOL... anyways, hubby is petrified of camping, and so in the 12 + years we've been together, no camping.

Well, we did baby dance last night but (warning may be TMI) while doing it, I noticed that it was taking DH forever to finish. So I said to him - "Did you ********** today?" He answered "Yeah, this morning." I was like "Why did you do that?!?! You are supposed to conserve - we are only supposed to do it every other day!" And he was like "Oh, I thought only YOU could do it every other day." I said "ME!?!? You are the one with the stuff. You need to conserve that - what do I have to conserve!?!?" Husbands!! What are they so dense sometimes? .:shakes head:.

Metroames ~ I hope you find out soon about the sex of the baby!

DespInFL ~ Glad you got a good nights sleep. I can't believe you sleep with a basset hound in your bed!! I have a mini dachshund and I can't even have him in the bed!! Ewww...I am not looking forward to indigestion!! Maybe I won't get it...

Dar ~ Well, enjoy your time at home today while you can. Hopefully the roads clear soon. I hear they are watching another hurricain!?!? NOTE: Read your latest post - see you made it to work. Darn!!

karatejen ~ Let me/us know how the birthing classes are. I am interested in knowing what goes on. Do health insurances cover those or are they out of pocket? What is the cost?

MadameX ~ That is funny - all you had to do was poop. I had to giggle to myself when I read that line... Glad it wasn't anything more serious!

MrsSarah ~ Eww...more nausea?? Hope it goes away quickly. Maybe you just have a bug?

ROTFLMAO.. Amy, you're too funny. Your DH needs someone to clue him in a bit. I would bore my hubby to death with all details of baby making, but believe it or not he listened. I'm sure yours would do the same, but maybe not to bring it up in the heat of the moment. LOL....

Oh, I can't take it...

I think some insurance companies cover the cost. I haven't checked with mine yet. The cost for this series of three classes is $45. I didn't think that was very much. I am really going just to see what type of information they have to offer that I haven't read about in my many books. Plus, since DH is not a reader, I am hoping it will give him enough of the basic info to be of some assistance to me and hopefully understanding enough if I should yell at him during delivery .

Sarah - I was like that with my DD!! I noticed mostly when it was night time. I think I was around 32 weeks and was throwing up! Hope it eases up for you.

Good morning ladies...
OK, I absolutely HAVE to pack for the hospital today!! I've been so bad about procrastinating, but now I really must get it done. Only 2 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah, I've been having a fair amount of nausea the last week or two. My dr. said it was normal for late term, but you're not that far yet. You might call and ask.

Hope you all have a good day. It's going to be HOT HOT HOT here, they predict 104!!! I hate the heat. Not looking forward to it at all!

Oooo.. Ellen, HOW EXCITING!!!!

At least you'll be prepared. A dear friend had an emergency c-section.. she had preeclampsia and her bp skyrocketed. She thought she'd be able to return to work.. not end up going home with a baby! She hadn't even packed and was a nervous wreck. They didn't even have the nursery ready!

They're supposedly for nausea. I'm thinking I'll just try some sugar free hard candies in fruit flavors. That's what I crave, anyways.. fruit. They'd be nice to have in the car.

Hi All,

Back from vacation on Cape Cod, got the kids off to school, trying to get organized and get all the house stuff done that needs doing between now and my scheduled c-section date (10/15/04). I'm starting to count down (37 days to go).

Hope you all had a great end of summer! Congratulations Trolly! Suzanne, I can't believe you're up next! How are you feeling? Did your midwife make it back from the states?

Hello to everyone else. I'll probably never catch up on all the threads I missed, so sorry if I'm a little light on personals today.

It's rainy and steamy here today. Yuck. I just don't feel like doing anything!

Preggie pops are little lollipops for nausea. I tried one (a sample) at a local maternity store, and wasn't too impressed. I had better luck with Altoids and Altoids Sours to help me get rid of nausea. Both were good when I was just a bit green, not really sickie.
