Good morning ladies!

LOL, I forgot yesterday was a holiday. I guess that's what happens when your work is open 24-7-365. It was nice to have my husband home when I woke up though. He's such a sweetie and takes good care of me. He is getting really excited about being a dad too. He is going to be a stay-at-home dad and at first he was a little aprehensive about it, but now I think he is really looking foward to it. He hates his job and since day care is so expensive and would take more than half his pay check we decided it wouldn't be worth it. And since we are not big spenders we decided we could live comfortably with my salary. It makes me feel less guilty about working too, knowing that my sweetie will be taking care of our children instead of a stranger. My sweetie is already talking about doing things as a family and he seems so happy and excited about it all. Tonight he told me "thank you for carrying my child". It was so sweet I wanted to cry. That sure made all this morning (all day) sickness worth it I tell ya.

Ok, enough of my sappiness. Have a great day everyone....it's my Friday and I have two whole days off! Whew!

sniff sniff... That is SOOO sweet!

My DH is going to be a stay at home dad at first.. he's in school, so if everything goes well, he will finish his semester while I'm on maternity leave. He can be with the baby during the summer. So, at least for a couple of months the baby will be home. And when he's not at school, he can get the baby from day care.

I had a horrible night's sleep last night. I could NOT get comfortable and just couldn't sleep.

This morning, I had to take the long way to work, which wasn't too bad since there is no school and alot of folks are not at work. Well, I'm going to have to figure another way to go home since my way this morning was flooded, too.

Amy, or whoever does the list in the morning, you can take my little question marks off near my name. EDD 4/16/05 (our 12 yo nephew's birthday.. he's SO excited) and week 8.

Amy: That is SO sweet!! And how wonderful that your DH will be a stay-at-home dad.

Dar: I hear ya on sleeping. I slept great last night, but the 3 nights before that were horrible. Someday it will be better!

We went camping this weekend. It was SO nice. The weather was really cool, so we hung out in sweat pants and sweat shirts. Ahhh... I love cool weather! I worked on my wedding scrapbook and FINALLY got it done!! It was my goal to get it done before the baby got here because I was afraid I wouldn't get it done after that. So, whew... one thing marked off the list.

I had a nice long weekend. The weather was great. We are going to get a lot rain tomorrow left over from Frances- I hope Ivan stays away. What a pain! I should finally have my doctors appoinment tomorrow (I hope)- Not much else going on!

Hi babyblue.

Well, I have good news and bad news.

DH and are officially ttc!! We started on Friday morning and when I got back from my trip yesterday we baby danced again! I think I am ovulating today - a lot more discharge than normal. I heard it is bad to "do it" everyday but if I think I am ovulating should we just do it?

It was funny that first time we ttc. Afterwards we were like - "okay, now what". Usually I run to the bathroom to get all the yuckies away, but this time I was had no idea if that was okay. Would I wash all the spermies away? So I layed there with my feet in the air for about 10 minutes. Yesterday I ran to the bathroom because we were expecting company and didn't want to get caught with my pants down.

So back to my question...should we really no "do it" everyday??

So, now my bad news...DH lost his job last week. They are moving his entire department to Missouri...we live in Massachusetts. DH didn't tell me until I got back from my trip yesterday because he didn't want to ruin my weekend. We decided to continue to ttc. We figured it isn't going to take 9 months for him to find a job and who knows that one time may have took and then what?

Oh well... I have the worst luck ever!!

ThininMex...What neat idea! I've heard about those kinds of beds, but I've never seen one before! You made that!?!

Smiley...Woohoo on TTC! But I am sorry to hear about your DH's job. At least you guys have something exciting to concentrate on now during the tough times!! About the "doing it" question...I have read that it is only bad to do it all of the time during your fertile period if the man has a low sperm count. Otherwise, it is okay. We did it for a whole week straight. Just to be sure. We'll see soon how well that worked out though.

We threw an "end of summer" party this Saturday. We had a great turn out and it was a lot of fun! My cousin actually surprised me. She and her boyfriend drove up from IL just for the weekend. It was nice, but we had such a full house. Sat night we had 10 people sleeping in our house! Thank god we have enough room!! It was an exhausting weekend, that's for sure.

I have been trying SO hard to not concentrate on what MAY be going on in my body right now. It is so hard not to think about it though. All weekend I was SO tired. Like BEYOND tired!! And I do feel some tenderness in my abdomen...but I know that it is probably waaaay too early for me to have any pregnancy signs. Though everything I am feeling seems to be a symptom. I feel like that is so pathetic. I am sure that my family suspects something. I didn't have any alcohol this weekend and haven't been drinking any diet coke (though I am known for being addicted to it). I pretty much binged all weekend on whatever I wanted, so I couldn't even use the LC excuse for the lack of alcohol and caffeine. Ah well. Hopefully I will be able to reaffirm their suspicions very soon!!!!!!!!

We leave for our trip on Saturday, so we have a TON of packing and preparations to do! Eeek.

Smiley: I plan on starting the baby book soon!! I can't wait! As far as TTC, if you can, try and lay still in bed for atleast 10 minutes after doing the deed. You want to give those little guys the best chance of getting in there. Also, I wouldn't do it everyday. Every other day is perfectly sufficient. Doing it every day will cause his sperm levels to be lower then if you do it every other day, so it can have a negative effect for some people. Are you so happy to be officially trying?!

Yeah, I am so happy to finnaly be trying!! I keep thinking in my head - just like jehcekah - I can't help but think about what could be going on in my body as we speak!! I hope it takes right away. I find though that I am pretty relaxed. No stressing while doing the deed. I am just enjoying the moment.

As to the not doing it everyday - what about if I think I am ovulating? Is it okay to do it again or should we wait? What if we miss the day I ovulate?

Amy- Have to concur here, you hubby sounds sweet! That willbe awesome for your children to have him as a stay-at-home daddy...I think alot of the problems in this world are from absentee dads!

As for me...I didn't sleep well last night either...but I'm used to it. I haven't had a good nights sleep in like the past 3 years!! I'm gonna sort clothes today....can't wait to find out on Thursday what this baby is so I know what clothes to keep out and which ones to pack away! Doing good on my eating so far today. For breakfast I've had 6 oz. Straw. Blue Bunny Yogurt, 3 celery sticks wiht peanut butter, and 32 oz. of water! I'm glad my caffine headache is finally gone!!! Anyway, I better go get some stuff done so I feel useful! Talk to ya'll later!

Everyday is supposed to be okay if your DH has normal production levels, but who knows what the production levels are when they are first trying?

The cervical mucus is supposed to keep the sperm alive 3 to 4 days, so if you do it the day before you ovulate, technically you should be okay.

Every other day is good, but I don't think it would hurt if you did it in between one of those days if you think you are ovulating. Once you ovulate, the game is over - so go for it!!

Sperm can live up to 5 days in your uterus. I was charting my temps and I know exactly when I ovulated and we had sex two days prior to ovulation....so yes every other day is sufficient.

Me, I'm okay. Morning sickness is a little stronger this time. No puking, but my gag reflex is very sensitive. I just have to snack often or I stay sick feeling. Just a little over a week before my first appointment. I'm getting excited. But I am still waiting to see blood everytime I go to the bathroom. So far, so good!! I am going to be so scared when my Dr. does the U/S.

Amy- Sorry about DH losing job. That sucks! My DH lost his around 5 years ago because they got rid of his department he found one relatively easily back then but the market is much tighter now. I have also heard that it is better to do every other day-

Amy, sorry about DH's job. As far as doing it after you ovulate.. by then it's just for fun. Once you ovulate, the egg lives about 12 hours. That's why it's best to do it the few days before so the sperm are waiting for it. If you do it once you ovulate, the sperm might get there too late. But, there's no reason NOT to. Have fun! One more thing... relax!!!!

As for doing it every day vs. every other day.. if you do it every day, his sperm concentration might be lower. If he's normal, he should be fine. If a few months go by and nothing happens, he may want to have his sperm count checked just to be sure. DH had his checked due to his low testosterone.. everything was fine except morphology (the % of good sperm). My ob was concerned, but we conceived with no problems.

Finally, I stayed laying down for about 20 minutes after we did the deed, too. I tend to have a problem with stuff 'falling out' .. but, the ones that are already on their way don't really have a risk of not making it. Someone here explained once that what falls out is not sperm, anyways. But, it just made me feel a little better.

Sarah, WOO HOO on the wedding book getting done! I almost finished mine this weekend, but decided to finish my mother's birthday present and get Christmas presents started.

Dena, so far our folks and siblings know, and a few of our closest friends who came over Saturday (a 'pre-hurricane' party ). One of our friends is 4 weeks ahead of me, and I found out she also has the same ob! She was scheduled for an ultrasound the SAME day as me, but had to reschedule. It's weird, cause I somehow had this fear we might see her at the office... and it turns out we could have! Anyways, we plan to go clothes shopping soon. I'm going to need it, I fear.

Sorry to hear about the m/s. I've been doing better the past week.. unfortunately that means I've been eating like a pig!

Hello to everyone else.

After my maternity leave last time, which was for two months, DH stayed home with the baby for six months. We both felt so much better not sending DS to the babysitters until he was an older baby.

Smiley~ DH and I usually babydance every other day but we have been known to do it more than that. My routine is elevating my legs for maybe 10-15 minutes afterward. We also use Pre-Seed and I just started using Instead cups. You can PM me for the links if you want as I'm not sure if I can post them or not. But, hopefully this is the month for you!!

As for me, I'm 11 days past ovulation. All this waiting is trying me crazy. My chart looks great though so maybe this is it.
