Congratulations to Trolly and chels_hoff!
Did you Florida mommies float away with all the rain? How bad is the damage? I should know since I'm a meteorologist, but I've been in the Pacific this week and I don't like to take my work home, LOL! ![]() Well, ladies this marks the 5th day with no nausia medicine! I almost caved yesterday though. I didn't get a lot of sleep and got pretty nausious a few times last night. I thought I was going to lose my lunch at my desk one time. I was determined not to take the medicine though and the nausia finally passed after 2am. I feel sooo much better tonight! Not a lot of time today as I'm dealing with a typhoon approaching Western Japan that is going to affect a few airports we fly into. Catch ya'll later! Amy |

Happy Labor Day!!
Checking in early while I can. It seems I woke to the worst of this storm...where we thought we'd get it Sat/Sun. I am directly on an inlet of the Gulf and I literally woke to having one foot left before it crests into our backyards. Looks very odd to us as usually it's about 10 feet below the seawall. The winds are so strong (upwards of 60 mph) that my dog won't even go outside and I'm wondering how the heck I'm going to work. Let alone get my son home to his father so he can attend school tomorrow. And ACK...they just said on the news that we have high tide in an hour and a half. Guess we should brace for some flooding. As for damage, I'm sure that will be seen tonight as these rainbands ease up.Pregnancy wise...not much sleep last night due to hearing the winds/rain and things bumping around outside. I actually look forward to the fact that I am to work today to put my mind on something usefull instead of just sitting here in my home. If someone is BBQ'in today....have some for me please. ![]() |

Where I am in Orlando, we fared pretty well. Just very windy and rainy. No damage to our neighborhood that we could see. We were really lucky, as we could tell on the radar that we were getting the weak bands or in between the worst bands. Now we just need to look out for Ivan! Wish someone would talk about it, instead of being stupid and getting fined $5-10 when a reporter says the name Ivan. I have to say that this is the worst Hurricane season that I've been through.
Everyone just cross their fingers for me, as I'm supposed to go on a 7 night cruise starting on 9/18. GO AWAY BAD WEATHER!!!! The only new pregnancy realted item for me is that I'm getting more and more sensitive to food and food smells. I thought this was supposed to go away in the first trimester!! My husband is getting worried about me as my world of food is getting smaller and smaller... He says that I'm not eating/not eating enough. I guess I really need to talk to the Dr. again, although he didn't seem to be worried. Amy- how cool is it that you're a meteorologist! I lived in Japan for a long time, so take care of my peeps for me! Desperate- Hope that your day gets better and your house doesn't flood.... Dierdre |

Good morning ladies... my last week as a preggie!! C-section set for this Friday, though I keep hoping they'll move it UP to sooner (today would be ok with me)!! I have monitoring or drs. appts. every day this week, so I just keep hoping!
Nyanchan, glad that you didn't have too many probs. I talked to my gramma in Orlando yesterday, and she said that she'd been without power on and off and heavy rain/wind for 2 days. Sounds pretty intense. Desp... Hang in there. Only 1 more month of hurricane season!! ![]() Amy, cool job! I think that would be fun. Hope the nausea stays away!!

Checking in....we're still getting rain/wind but at least the water did not reach my back door!! Our seawalls held it at bay, barely. But the island I'm on, the bridges flooded and the streets around my work were entirely flooded so my boss who boated into work called and said to stay home...whew.
Dierdre....fined for mentioning Ivan??? Must be different here because they're already showing Ivan and possible projections. According to the station I watch, it's showing landfall as a Cat. 4 hurricane next weekend....around the tip of south Florida and bumping it's way up the West Coast, kinda' like Elana. Again, not good news but we'll keep watching it. WHAT is with this season? About the food...my husband has the same concern for me and I've actually lost weight every month, even with adding carbs back. My doc however is not concerned as the baby is growing adequately and it's not an enormous amount. Teach.....WOW only a few more days!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery from your C-section and can't wait to meet your little one! LOL...wish you were right about 1 more month...unfortunately, it's about 2 1/2 more months and believe it or not, we have not even hit "peak hurricane season". |

Amy- Yay....hope you're able to make it a whole week without the nausea medicine!!! I think being a meterologist would be so much fun!!
Dar-Hope the damage isn't too much! Good luck at work today and getting your son home to his dad. Nyan- Glad you fared well! Sorry you aren't feeling well...my mom always says the the vitamins in green leafy veggies like salad ! As for me...everything is going well. 3 more days until the Ultrasound so I get to find out what baby is! I can't wait. We found out with daughter (my first), and didnt' find out with our son (second)....but I think I like finding out better! Then you can call "it" by name the whole time and they recognize their name! Haven't really thought of names yet...it was a big ordeal with our first two...so I guess we just wanna see what baby is first to decide! Anyway, not sure what I am doing today since it is a "holiday," but I think my dad and hubby are going for a motorcycle ride over the mountain...so I'll probably just make a picnic and take the kids to the park. Then we have my MIL b-day party tonight...so gotta stay strong for that. I've been doing really well low carbing...just gotta stay on trac now! Ok, I better go load the dishwasher. Talk to you all later! Have a good day all! |

Howdy, everyone. We are fine here. Just lots and lots of rain. It finally stopped raining about an hour ago, but I swear the worst rain was after the eye went over us. Our little oak tree out front is teetering, but not fallen over. Lots of trees around are down, though. We went to the grocery store earlier, and my way to work is flooded. So, I guess I'll have to leave early tomorrow.. although I doubt a whole lot of folks will be out. I don't know if schools will be in session, but I somehow doubt it. They are still being used for shelters.
I'm SO sick of hurricanes, already. And now they won't stop talking about Ivan. I guess I won't be able to watch network tv for at least a week. I still feel like a pig. Each day I keep thinking that maybe today I can have a lower carb day.. but the only thing that sounds good to eat is a bologna sandwich or some crackers or piece of fruit. * sigh * I hate being stuck in the house. Oh, crap.. I spoke too soon. Just lost the satellite signal and getting heavy rain. Darnit! |

Hi Mommies,
Still here, still pregnant. Since my due date isn't for another 10 days, I don't know why I even expect anything to happen. I do have some real contractions once in a while and my cervix is shifting more foreward so I can feel it again. And it is still closed. I am taking 300 mgs of borage seed oil 3 times a day, red raspberry leaf tea 3 times a day, and sex as often as I can get it! If my back didn't hurt so bad I would do more walking or some of Cyn's jumping jacks. Ellen, it must be nice knowing when this will be over for you. Best of luck with the c-section. Glad to hear all you FL ladies are safe. This might make you feel better about Ivan. Historical tracking Hasta mañana, Suzanne

Hi everybody,
DH broke the computer last week so I've been missing in action for a while. Congratulations Trolly!! Sophie is so cute. Sorry about the C-section, but the most important thing is that you two are both healthy. You poor Florida ladies. What a hurricane season this has been!! I read that this is the worst it has been in over thirty years!! I hope all damage is kept to the minimum and everybody stays safe and healthy. At least nobody is due anytime soon and needs to venture out to the hospital!! Yeah Amy with the nausea!! I hope the trend continues and that you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. I had quite the week last week. Last Sunday I had a baby shower. That was so much fun. Almost everybody showed up and I got lots of cute clothes and blankies and a baby monitor and lots of stuff. Then Monday I awoke to agonizing stomach pains. I started to throw up and had terrible diarrhea. Then I got these horrible contrations, I really thought that I could be going into labour. I had pain starting in my lower back and radiating down my legs and across my tummy. I went in to the doctor and it was... the stomach flu!! I wasn't dialated at all, but by Tuesday I'd had 22hrs of contractions, each lasting 45 seconds and they were between ten and twelve minutes apart!! And I was still throwing up. It was terrible!! Apparently the flu irritated my uterus and threw it into contractions. I guess throwing up left me dehydrated, which also contributes to the contractions. I lost about ten pounds in two days. So by Friday I was finally feeling better and I noticed that I had dropped. I have only dropped about two inches, but I've been carrying high all along, so I don't know if I'll drop any more. I've notice alot of pressure on my pelvis, rectum (sigh ) and lower abdomen. So now I've very constipated and I have to pee every hour again. But at least I can breathe!! I had a great weekend, my hubby took all three days off, but now today I have horrible tummy upset again... a lovely combination of diarrhea and constipation and a few contractions every once in a while. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I certainly think labour might be coming. Happy labour day!! I am officially due three weeks from today, but I've had a lot of conflicting messages from the various doctors, my last appointment the doctor said she wouldn't be surprised if I was two weeks early!! So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.Take care, Nicole |
