Congratulations GoJackets! I added you to the list. I hope that is ok. I will be praying for all to go well.

I ended up taking my Zofran again yesterday when I woke up really nausious. I swear if I would have gotten out of bed I wouldn't have made it to the bathroom in time. I'm feeling a lot better tonight though. Maybe I'll just have to take the medicine as needed and after I try to eat something and see if I can get off of it. My husband seems pretty eager to have me stop taking it. He called in for another refill for me though, because I'm only cleared on the insurance through the end of the month on it. So I've got 45 pills now, and I'd better not have to take many more of them! At least I'm down to 1 a day instead of 3!

Mrs Sarah, I'm so glad you passed your glucose test. I'm nervous about taking mine because I can't handle much sugar without getting sick and since I work midnights, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to fast. Did you have to fast on yours? I'm just wondering if I tried to eat near zero carbs all night and not eat for like 4 hours before the test if I'd still pass ok. There's no way I'm going to be able to go all night without eating. I guess my other option if I have to fast is to interrupt my sleep and go in during the afternoon, but I'd be sure to get sick then and my husband couldn't take me since he work afternoons. I'm not sure that I even have to fast, but I've heard about the high false positive rate, and I wondering if that happens to people that don't fast? Anyway, I'm just curious on what you did so that you were able to pass the first time.

Happy Friday everyone!

Amy

GoJackets...you are in my thoughts for what you have gone through, and hopefully the joy that will continue for a lifetime from your test last night.

I'm curious....hubby and I are now at 21 weeks and we haven't purchased a thing yet. While I know we have a crib, bassinet/pack 'n play and other large items from my son (have to get them from storage of my ex's)....I'm starting to get nervous about infant clothing, bottles, car seat, etc. My girlfriend is planning a shower in November for us...but being we'll prolly meet this little one the day after Christmas, I'd rather NOT be out shopping in Dec. with the Christmas shoppers while 8 1/2 months pregnant!!

When in the pregnancy did you start stocking up? What items did you purchase first? I'm looking at infant car seats this weekend, any recommendations?? Man I sound like I've never been through this before LOL...but things have really changed since I had my son 8 years ago.

Thanks for the help....Also, anyone use a registry that ppl out of town can access and order and if so, pro's/con's to that particular one?

Thanks for your well wishes Amy and DesperateinFL.

Actually, I am not ready to be on the list yet. I don't mind that it is up there today. But it hurt having to watch it climb up and then come off. I'm just not ready to consider it a "pregnancy" until it is confirmed by my doctor. Please, Please do not feel bad for putting it up there. I appreciate so much how you ladies want to share in my joy. It means so much to me because I am going to need support getting through these weeks of major insecurity.

Already this morning I feel "damp" and I am afraid to go look because I think there will be blood.

GoJackets, Woo Hoo on the + test. I took 3 before I was party convinced.. I still don't feel convinced.. until we have our u/s next week. Maybe then I'll believe it. Our friends who have a 2 month old (the only people we've told) brought over some baby books yesterday. I felt kind of funny about them.. it just hasn't sunk in and I'm still so nervous about losing it.

to you for what you've been through. And I'm glad you've decided not to give up yet. My cousin was pregnant with twins, but lost one at birth. She has decided she doesn't want anymore. As much as she loves her son, it was too painful for her to lose one.

How far along were you when you lost yours?

Mornin,

I've been waking up lately at 5 or 6 and can't go back to sleep, probably because my hips feel like they're ripping apart at night. Then I just lay there and wonder when she'll finally get here. And what is it going to be like having a newborn? Is it driving any of you other 3rd trimester ladies crazy just WAITING?

Well, I'm really excited because today is the last day I have to go into the office. After that I will work from home 'till baby. Yippee! Now I don't have to make the big decision about which of my 2 pregnancy shirts I should wear that still actually fit over my belly.

metro--Sorry about the nausea, that has to be just torture!

Desp--I started really stocking up around 20 weeks or so and then had some showers at around 7 months that helped out A LOT. I've found that the Graco Snugride carseat scored very high on consumer reports and is reasonably priced. Babies R Us is national and they have a great return policy, decent shipping prices and a huge website full of every possible baby item made.

Go--I've been following your story in lurk mode and I'm so happy for your positive. I can totally understand your being cautiously optimistic but I've heard stories from so many woman that had false starts and then went on to have beyootiful babies.

Littlebear--Was it you that asked about being nervous b/c of all the life changes that come with a baby? Yes! For me it comes out in all of these dreams I have about losing he baby or not feeding her or some other catastrophe. I think if we weren't worried we'd be weirdos since it's such a huge responsibilty.

I was only ten weeks, but I saw it twice on the ultrasound. Once at 6 1/2 weeks and once at 8 1/2 weeks. The one at 8 1/2 weeks was amazing! You could see it's little head and arm buds. It's heart was pounding away - truly amazing. I guess that is why it was such a shock to lose it.

As far as being nervous.....someone on the board told me you are nervous the first trimester, then the second, then the third, then they are born and you are worried about their first step, their first day of school, their first crush, etc....etc....You never stop worrying.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.. part of being a parent, I guess.. constant worry.

I just went back to the Memorial Day thread and read about your m/c. I can understand you being very hesitant this time around. Well, never being in your shoes, I don't know what it's like.. but after feeling so great the first time around and, like you said, seeing the baby twice, I think it's great you are still trying. I don't know if I'd have the strength.

Have you called your doc?

I'm feeling okay over here.. still nauseous, but once I forced down some chicken, at least my stomach stopped growling. I'm not sure which feels worse.. the intense hunger or queasy stomach.

I haven't called my doctor yet. I guess I should, but I'm still taking the prescription prenatal vitamins (she told me to stay on them after the m/c) so I'm not in a hurry to see her. I guess she will want to do bloodwork at eight weeks. I will call and see if they will see me then. I don't know that the six week ultrasound will be necessary although it was nice knowing I was pregnant.

Four weeks in between visits seems like a long time. I guess that is what is so great about finally feeling your baby kick. You have some daily reassurance. The next few months I will feel like the blind.

The only "symptoms" I've had this early in the game are that my boobs are huge! Even DH noticed. And my mouth waters ALL of the time. I am curious to see if I get sick this time, since I wasn't last time. I will take whatever I get!!!!!

Desp, my friend recommended "Baby Bargains". She said it's like a Consumer Reports for baby stuff.

Also, most people I've known with babies register through Babies R Us. That has made it SO easy.. No matter where they are, I can access their registry and you can also see it or buy from it online. For most of them, I decided what to buy before I even went to the store! B-R-U is definitely a scary place to be when you're NOT pregnant.. and getting in and out of there in a hurry is a good thing.

Oh, GoJackets, I hope this is nothing. Let us know. But I am happy for you and I pray that everything goes well for you. I understand that you are very hesitant to be "happy" right now with everything that you went through. I think I would be too. But, I will think happy thoughts for you - as well as everyone else here - and hopefully this time around will be fine.

Good morning ladies!! TGIF!!!

Well, I'm officially freakin' uncomfortable. How's that for starting off with a ******. Last night I just couldn't get comfortable. I kept having to turn over and this belly is getting harder and harder to move around with. I think I need to find a pillow or something to put under my belly to support it a little. I just can't have it be very thick... wonder if I can find anything?

Tomorrow my mom and I are having a yard sale. I have some stuff that I desperately need to get rid of, so I'm looking forward to it. I hope that I make some $$$! But, if it doesn't sell, I'm going to donate it... I just don't want to house it anymore!

GoJ: I am SO happy for you. I totally understand your trepidation with becoming too excited. That is very natural. I would be the same way. In fact, I was that way with this pregnancy and I haven't experienced a loss, so I'm sure this feeling is 100 fold for you. I am here for you, my friend, always. Whatever you need, don't hesitate to ask.

Amy: Gosh, I'm so sorry that you've had such awful nausea. I hope that it goes away SOON!

DFL: I started collecting stuff pretty early. I went yard saling and picked up stuff as I saw it. But I only did that because it wasn't very expensive. I would have held off on buying expensive things. But at 21 weeks, I was going hog wild!!

trolly: Lucky you! Last day of work! I can't wait until I'm there!!

Dar: Feel better!! As far as registering, we just did our last weekend, so I guess it was the first week of my third trimester. We registered at Babies R Us... I LOVE THAT STORE!

Smiley: Hi!!!

D&mn, I don't feel like working today! LOL...

Sarah , my friend had a body pillow that she used throughout her pregnancy. It kept her more comfortable and kept her from trying to flip on her back, which is how she was used to sleeping. I think I might try it. I'm used to sleeping on my left side.. it's the way I've always slept because silly hubby points the fan at his face (has a small fan on his night table) and I hate it. So, if I lay on my left side, it doesn't blow on my face. But it would be nice to have a little support to keep me from rolling off the bed!

We have two huge boxes of stuff to get rid of.. can we come over and sell it at your yard sale?!

I have a body pillow, but I must be freakishly uncoordinated. I can't figure that thing out. No matter how I use it I'm uncomfortable. What the heck?!

Morning Mommies,

Mrs Sarah, sorry to hear you are uncomfortable. Welcome to the wonderful 3rd trimester!

GoJackets, congratulations! I know how you are feeling since this baby was conceived only 6 weeks after a miscarriage. The one big difference I notices was that with the pregnancy I lost, I didn´t feel sick at all. With this one, from about 7 weeks I felt yucky but that just meant my body was doing the right thing.

Hi Smiley!

Desp, I didn´t do any shopping until last month. There´s not much we need except new born diapers. So I got two packages and I bought 3 new outfits because lots of my little clothes are badly stained.

Hi Trolly, it´s not driving me nuts wondering what it will be like since I´ve already been there. I figure either this baby will be like Max and super easy to care for, or she won´t. She´ll be a little screamer from day one. Either way, it all goes by so fast. Right now, I just want to know that my midwife is back in the country then I want to go into labor asap! Enjoy your time off!

Ames, sorry you are still feeling bad, hope it doesn´t last.

Hi Dar!

Max is at his second day at school, he cried when we dropped him off. I hate leaving him like that. Everything is so new right now that he is probably feeling a little insecure and I am not a believer in the "cry it out" method of child rearing. We went to see some friends near the preschool, then we saw the group go by on their nature walk and he was doing fine. DH wants to go pick him up after only 2 hours but I think if Max is OK he can stay the full 4 hours. As long as he isn´t crying a lot. Letting them grow up is so hard!

Any news from Wendy? I´ll check back later.

Hasta pronto,

Suzanne

Hi Mommies-

Go Jackets- I just say a little (yah)- I understand not wanted to get to excited.

DSFL- I don't know what is wrong with me I haven't bought much- one thing of wipes. I have all the big items from Jessica- Crib, sheets, highchair, bouncy seats- ect. I just don't have a single diaper purchased- I think I better get on the ball. He doesn't need any clothing- I did buy some of that and I was given so many hand me downs.

Sarah- Sorry you are so uncomfortable. I am having a bad swelling day- Good luck at the yard sale-

Trolly- on the last day at work- That's awesome you get to work from home!

Amy (met)- Can you schedule your glocose test late in the afternoon and take it before work- You really want to fast before the test - you don't want to fail and then take the 3 hour one.

Dar and Smileyaee- Hi guys-

Suzanne- That is the first time I see you using "her"- are you thinking that they might be right this time??

My grandfather is having surgery today. They are going to put a stint (sp?) in his kidney- they are thinking that is what is causing his bp to be so high. I hope it all goes ok-

Good Morning All!

Well, my two day freak-out turned out to be just that. They squeezed me in yesterday to listen to the baby's HB and the doc even brought in the u/s machine so I could see it. I LOVE my doc. I felt so embarrased afterwards, but she said it happens all the time. You would think I'd be happy to see the end of m/s! I still feel queasy now and then, though. They said my placenta is "low-lying", so, right on top of the cervix. They didn't call it placenta previa yet, but said to report any bleeding right away. She was surprised I didn't bleed after sex. My cervix is waaay up there, so maybe that has something to do with it. I gained FOUR pounds in thwo weeks!

Suzanne~I'm So glad you will be able to continue to log on and keep us posted. Enjoy that A/C and I hope your midwife gets there soon!

GoJackets~ Congratulations! Try not to worry, try to enjoy.

Sarah~Sorry you're unconfortable. I am a back sleeper too, and I know I only have a few more weeks until I really need to force myself onto my side. Those long pillows are supposed to be good, but tricky to climb over if you have to pee during the night.

Ellen~ You are sooo close! That's amazing they can estimate the weight in the uterus. yay for chubby cheeks and buns!

Wendy~We'd love to know how things are/went!

Dar~How about registering at Target online? They have great stuff, I love their cribs! That would be easy for out-of-state folks to buy and send. Babies R Us scares me (as a shopper). I get overwhelmed and when I call our store locally for help, I have been put on hold eternally. I have just used it to shop for others.

Trolly~Eek! The "hips ripping apart" symptom sounds so painful! I guess we have that to look forward to. Dumb question, but: does stretching help? Whoever said pregnancy is not for wimps is right!

Smiley~ Hi girl!

Desp~I haven't bought anything large yet, like crib, carseat, stroller, and probably won't till much further along. I can understand not wanting to shop during the Christmas rush while 8.5 mos PG though! I like to look on Epinions for product reviews.

Amy~Sorry you're still so sick, but down to one pill a day from three is good! What will you do for insurance at the end of the month?

Lizzy~Hi!

Meg~Good to see you~Hi!

Kristen~ that your grandfather's surgery goes well!

LittleBear~Are you feeling better today? I have anxiety over this whole motherhood thing too, and you are much closer than I!

AZPara~Sorry to hear about your losses. Good to see you here.

Nicole~ Hi!

Well, we need to fly to Seattle today. I hope I don't barf on the plane (like last week ) I don't know how long we'll be there, but I will try to log on to keep in touch!

Kelley

Kelley- Glad everything is ok- Pretty soon you will be feeling the baby move so that will help with the freak-outs. If I start to worry I sometimes start poking my stomach until I feel movement = Poor baby probably hates me- LOL!!!!!

I will still have my insurance, but they only ok'd the medicine thru the end of the month. I'm guessing it will be out of pocket if I need more after that....and at 35 bucks a pop I hope I don't need anymore!

Amy (met)- Can you schedule your glocose test late in the afternoon and take it before work- You really want to fast before the test - you don't want to fail and then take the 3 hour one.
I suppose that is what I'm going to have to do. Hopefully, I can schedule it on a day that I have off and we can get in before my husband has to go to work. He works afternoons, so usually I don't go to sleep till 11am or noon and then sleep till 9 or 10 at night (with several bathroom breaks in between, LOL!). It's still a ways away, but I'm still not looking foward to it. I'm sure even the one hour is going to make me sick.

Well, I'm off to bed ladies.

Amy

Hi all,

Felt so yucky last 2 days, suspected UTI, and sure enough, that's what i have.....

Hopefully I will feel better by tomorrow....

As far as showers are concerned, i had two, and 95% of what I got was baby clothes and cutesy things...... Even though, I had registered for the things i really needed, i didn't get them...... I think people just love to buy baby clothes and cute stuff, it's more fun.........

So, my advice, don't buy clothes, you will get a ton.

Make a registry, but be prepared to still have to buy those things on your own - because you might have too

Yes, baby clothes are TOO cute. We have a policy of NOT buying baby clothes when we go to a baby shower. For that very reason. I'd rather get my friends something they need since I know everyone else will buy clothes.
