I hope I did that right... I just copied and pasted.

You guys told me to be happy when I felt good.. and I was happy.. because it would hit me when I least expect it. Ick. No actual running to the bathroom or dry heaves.. just not feeling quite right. Like my insides are constantly in a state of unrest. I managed a piece of pump/rye before work.. and now I'm hungry again but nauseous. Nothing sounds appetizing. Now I know what you mean about only being able to tolerate carbs.

Oh, and I think I fixed my desire for peanut butter.. any nuts in fact right now make me turn the other way. I felt so icky Saturday and had such an awful headache that I thought maybe I needed a snack. However, my parents had no cheese or typical low carb snacks.. so I grabbed some peanuts. Blech.. I felt ill the rest of the day and now can't stand the thought of them.

Ah, well.. at least I have something interesting to talk with my ob about when I have my appt. this afternoon.

AND, I had a flat tire on my way to work this morning, so I turned around, had to wake up hubby to take me to work. Not a good start for coming back to work!

Dar - that is one thing I am NOT looking forward to. I have only thrown up a handful of times in my 27 years. I litterally can count on one hand how many times I have thrown up since elementary school. I am hoping that that carries on when I get pregnant. Although, I can't wait to be able to really talk about pregnancy things with you guys instead of asking questions and reading all about you guys - not that that isn't interesting - I just want to be "part" of the group.

I hope you feel better Dar!

Good morning to everyone else!

Hi ladies!!

Well, I had my appointment yesterday. All is well! They took my weight, I gained 2 lbs this month. Not too shabby. I'm up 9 lbs total. I peed in a cup and all that was good. My blood pressure was great! 122/70. They measured my tummy to check uterus size and said all of that is right on track. He used to doppler to check the heartbeat. It was really good, but the baby kept kicking the doppler. I drank my glucose drink to check for gestational diabetes. It wasn't as bad as I thought. It was like a really sweet, really cold, orange pop. Not too bad. They took my blood an hour later. Hopefully that all comes back okay.

They set my next appointment for September 10th. They will do my last ultrasound to check and make sure everything looks okay. Then after that I have to start having appointments every 2 weeks! I can't believe I'm already nearing then end!

I'm sitting here tonight washing and hanging up baby clothes. I just can't believe that in 2 1/2 months I'll be holding my son.

Dar: Ick. Morning sickness is NO fun at all. I sure hope that it passes quickly for you.

Smiley: I can't wait until you are preggers either!! I'm really enjoying having you here.

I'm considering myself lucky so far.. I tended to get sick alot when I was younger if I was anxious about something.. I get nauseous pretty easily. So, I'm afraid it might get worse. I hope not. I managed to eat some Triscuits and cheese and now I feel much better. My tummy stopped growling. You know how you can be so hungry you feel even more nauseous? I get that alot, even when I'm NOT pregnant!

Sarah, glad to hear all went well!

I really can't believe how far along you are!! It seems like it was just yesterday that you told the PG that you were pregnant. Now that little blue line in your sig. keeps getting longer and longer.

By the time I am pregnant, you will be long gone holding your baby boy! for you being gone, but for you getting to hold your sweet baby boy.

Well hello all. Just found out I was prego on Saturday. Still obsorbing the info. I am only about 5 weeks along so really early still. I was told I can do atkins maintenence. I think I need to go read up on that because I never read that part since I wouldn't be doing it for a while. I am starting to get excited about motherhood its just a bit overwhelming. Its not like I am too young or anything being 27 and all but it was a big SURPRISE. Looking forward to chatting with people like me.

Hey Ladies!

I'm feeling good today - I slept well last night. I guess I am sleeping well on alternating nights here of late. I didn't think the baby would interrupt my sleep this early!!

Smiley - I am just over 11 weeks along and I have yet to throw-up. I would get near the "edge", but never had to follow through, so you might just get lucky! Like you, I have never been one to really get sick and barf..

MrsSarah - 9lbs. so far? That's great!! How have you managed it that well? I think I have gained 4 or 5 already! :-( I think one thing I need to STOP doing is eating late - like after 8:30pm - but I always seem to want something then. Oh - and I KNOW I need to drink more water. What's been your secret?

Nicole - CONGRATS! I feel like I was 5 weeks along only days ago - the time really does fly by!

Dar - I have to force myself to eat almost any protein - eggs, nuts, even meat - I can't believe how much carbs rule my life right now. I completely understand your nut aversion. I do, however, still like cream cheese - which is probably not the best thing for me to be eating!

Those of you that know the sex of your baby - when did you find out??

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Pretties!

Dar~Just eat what sounds good. I had major cravingss for things, went overboard, then couldn't stand the sight (or thought) of that food after that! Sounds like peanut butter did that to you. Guess what I can't even stand the sight of? White bread. Yes, the most benign food on earth. I can't even go down that aisle in the supermarket! I went wild on grilled cheese sandwiches about a month ago. That did it.

Smiley~It's a pleasure having you here! When you're PG, we can all obsess on a whole new level with you. But for now, we're just hoping for a BFP for you!

Sarah~That account of the glucose test doesn't sound too bad! I don't know why I'm dreading it. Maybe mainlining all that sugar after we LCers have come to believe it's the devil has something to do with it. I hope you pass! Keep us posted!

NICOLE!!! Congratulations! What a nice surprise!

I hope today is better for me. Yesterday I was so emotional and its so out of character for me. A (dumb) lady ran the stop sign at a four way stop yesterday as I was walking the dog. We live near a school. I was so mad and sad I started crying! Sometimes I get overwhelmed and thing "what is this world coming to?!". Never made me CRY before, LOL. Anybody else get emotions from hell?

Kelley

Hi Jenn~We had an in-depth u/s at 15 weeks and they told us it was too early to find out the sex. They said the earliest was 16 weeks, but we'll know for sure with our amnio results in a couple weeks.
Do you have a premonition of what you're having? That's often right! ( I have no premonition)

Good morning ladies...
Welcome Nicole! The time goes quickly. I can hardly believe that I have only 2 more weeks till I deliver!! Seems like just yesterday I found out I was pg.

Got hospital/surgery instructions yesterday. I have to hope and pray that they don't get busy the day of my surgery, because you cannot eat or drink anything at all. Right now I have to be there before 8 AM and surgery at 10 AM, which is not too bad. The part I hate the most is the IV, so hopefully that will only have to be in for 24 hours or so!!

Sarah... my little guy always kicks the doppler or the u/s!!! He really doesn't seem to like the vibrations much. He also kicks the steering wheel of my car if I'm on a bumpy road.

Hope you have a quiet day. I'm still suffering from Olympics hangover due to staying up too late watching gymnastics!!

Nicole! Glad to see you joined us! We are only 6 weeks along, and have known for two weeks.. so we are still absorbing it as well.

I go for my first ob appt. today since we conceived.

As far as low carb.. I asked all kinds of ?'s while TTC and when I first found out about what to eat. Feel free to ask away.. these ladies are most helpful.

I had been on early OWL, so maintenance is a big change. I perused the aisles at the grocery store and found a few things I thought would be a good start. I added in fruits, cottage cheese, more veggies, and found some good crackers/breads.. such as Triscuits, Wasa, and rye or pumpernickel bread. Everything else seems to have sugars or refined flours or some other nonsense in them.

Well, morning sickness started hitting me yesterday, so my diet may change again. Oh, well. I'm trying to stay good, though.

Exactly! Oh, well. Probably a good thing.. There are better foods than peanut butter out there.

Hello Ladies~

I'm Heather, I found out I was expecting a few weeks ago, I've decided to continue on with this WOE and would like to join in with you all. I've stayed with my Holiday to Holiday Challenge, they are a great group of people, but done of them did this WOE with their pregnancies.

I haven't been to the doctor yet. We live in a very small town so I will have to drive 35 miles to get good prenatal care, I don't even think there is a hospital in this town, we just moved here in March....I am about 8 weeks along, my due date should be in April.

I am almost 24 and have a 2 1/2 year old DD. I've been married for 4 years. I am a nanny for 2 little boys, I only work 3 days a week though.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!

OK guys, on the subject of TMI afflictions, have any of you ever had to deal with the dreaded 'roids? It just started for me over the weekend and I am freakin' miserable. I'm doing all the right thing to deal with it (called the doc's office for advice...very humbling, let me tell you) My question for any of you moms that have dealt with this in a previous pregnancy is will this go away after delivery?! And if so, how soon?

On top of everything else this is just pushing me over the edge. Right now 2 weeks to delivery seems like a looooong time.

Poor Trolly, along with all the other aches and pains of having only a few weeks to go, now this

TMI warning: I noticed something about three weeks ago. I had just had a bout of the stomach flu with a lot of diarreaha. It was a hard, grape-size nodule and I just freaked out. Called the doctor, and she told me to push it back inside. So gross. I was sore and itchy for a week and used the cream the doctor gave me a little sample of. Knock wood, I've been okay ever since! My mother had 'roids quite badly after she gave birth. She blames the episiotomy, says the doctor cut to deep and stitched her up too much so she became horribly constipated and in agony. She has dealt, poor lady, with this problem for years and only recently got the surgery. And that was an awful ordeal! She had the surgery at the end of July and she still "screams" when she uses the bathroom. And these suckers are supposed to be heriditary!! I'm hoping they just go and stay away!!!

Sorry, that probably isn't the good new you wanted to hear. I'm sure they go away after pregnancy when the pressure is off for a lot of people. Just like varicose veins.

Kelley -

I have said, "he", "him", etc. from day ONE! I have no idea why, this is my first baby, I do not care if its a boy or girl, and my husband has never said, "I hope its a boy"...so maybe I am having a premonition???

I actually woke up the day after I ovulated (I chart my temps, so I definitely know when I ovulated) and I thought, "I'm pregnant". Of course I thought I was being really silly and ridiculous, but sure enough, I was...and I have never thought that before (we've been trying for several months).

Maybe I have a sixth sense, brought on by pregnancy?!

OMG aphex, that's scary! But at least you haven't had a problem since then. Yeah, I'm hoping to be one of the lucky ones that doesn't have an ongoing problem after delivery. Surgery sounds pretty awful.

I couldn't bring myself to go into work today so I'm working from home, sitting on my inflatable donut pillow...cute!

Hi everyone!

I know it has been a while since I last posted. I have been in a bad mood for the last week. I know it must be the hormones because I don't have anything to be upset about.

Today I have an awful backache. I have considered leaving work, but I need to get some stuff done. It seems overnight that all the fun stuff is hitting me....backaches, bloody noses, cluminess, etc. Maybe that is why my mood has been less than chipper.

Sarah~my next appt is also 9/10 and then I will be every two weeks as well. I drank the orange stuff too for my glucose test, but they pricked my finger and gave me the results right away. How long do you have to wait to find out your results?

Welcome new mommies to be!

LOL, Jenn.. I looked back at my FitDay journal, and the day I ovulated was the day I decided to change my diet and add more carbs. I even had some bread at Outback before I knew I was pg.. and hubby commented that maybe my body knew I needed it. Even while I tried to convince myself I WASN'T pg, maybe I knew I was?

Heather! We're glad to have you here!!

Ok, this had probably been brought up before.. but it irritated me. I was reading in What to Expect.. over the weekend, and in either the first or second month, it mentions pregnancy and certain "diets".. such as vegetarian and low carb. Sure enough, under the low carb, it warns against "dieting" while pregnant. As we all know, a low carb 'diet' is not that.. it's a way of eating. Argh.. just frustrated me. Especially since at the same time the book preaches eating proteins, veggies, and whole grains.. isn't that what we do, anyways, as low carb eaters?! Hmpf!

Hello Mommies -

Pauline - congrats! she's beautiful! I'm so happy for you!

Welcome to all the new Mommies! Ask away with ANY questions you have. Nothing is TMI for our board If you're wondering about , we've probably discussed it down to the most minute detail possible and can share our thoughts!

Wendy - post as soon as you can!

Trolly and Nicole - so sorry about the 'roids. My Mom got really bad vericose weins and 'roids from having me and my sister. I've never had any symptoms of either and this is well into my 2nd pregnancy, so perhaps you can escape your fate. Did you know that 'roids are vericose veins of the peri-anal area? They're the same thing, just different location.

I too can't believe the time that's flown! For some reason I always look for Suzanne and Mrs. Sarah when I log in. One is due ahead of me, one is due after me, but for some reason you two are my touch stones. And here we all are, in the 3rd trimester. Holy *****!!

Had my regular ob appointment today. My weight still really isn't budging at all (in fact, I lost a couple of pounds since last appointment). I was right around 180 pounds when I got pregnant, and as of this morning (I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow), I'm at 184 lbs. The ob hasn't said anything about necessary weight gain since the first appointment at which he seemed pretty adamant that I needed to gain at least 20-25 lbs. Should I be concerned? Anybody have any thoughts?

I had blood drawn for a CBC test (he said to see whether I'm anemic), and gave a urine sample to check for a UTI. Next appointment (Sept. 14) I have an internal exam and a Group B Strep swab (he said it's vaginal AND anal) yuck. Anybody done this yet? What does it involve exactly?

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable end of the summer (can you believe September is seven days away? ).

Regards,
LizzyD

Tipped / Retroverted uterus?

Did anyone here have a tipped uterus before they got pg? Did it right itself during your pregnancy?

Jenn: Honestly, I'm not sure how I have managed the weight gain. I normally gain weight like crazy if I'm not on a strict diet. I can gain a pound just smelling a donut, I swear. However, with pregnancy it just hasn't been that way. I wish I could say I had a secret! The things that I do pay attention to are water and eating late. I drink lots of water during the day and at night. I also try not to eat too late.
