Congratulations Pauline!
Paige must be becoming a popular name. If we have a girl we are going to name her Paige Amy. We've had it picked out for a long time before we even got pregnant, and now that I am pregnant I swear I hear that name all the time now, LOL! Well at least I haven't heard our boy name yet....Grant David. I like names that are easy with one syllable, especially with the long last name they are going to be getting: Van Gerpen. ![]() Well, I think I'm finally starting to feel some movement from the baby. Last week I was sitting at my desk at work leaning way over plotting something on my chart when I felt a slight nudge followed by a fluttering sensation. I didn't think to much of it, except that it was definately a new sensation. A few days later I was feeling some slight taps that I knew wasn't gas or stretching, but I was sitting real still at my desk. Now the last few days I've felt similar sensations, but only when I am sitting motionless. Yesterday when I was lying down it felt like something was sloshing around below my belly button and then the top of my bladder kind of hurt when I urinated after that, like the baby was dancing on it or something. So, I don't know if it's all in my head since I'm only in my 17 week, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't gas as I've had plenty of that to deal with since adding carbs back! ![]() Well, everyone have a nice day! Amy |

Morning Mommies!
Amy....such a great feeling when you start feeling that little one moving within you. Makes it that much more real. Enjoy it!! Doing good here other than dreading the heat/humidity this week. Hubby sat in it Friday night for awhile and finally said "I have no idea how you do this all day." At least he's respecting a little what I'm going through LOL. Otherwise...I do have a little TMI pain that I won't go into but I do wish it would go away. Unfortunately my belly is now in the way of me bending over to get a good look to see if it's truly something I should be worried about. Have a great week everyone!! We're getting excited about our u/s tomorrow!!!! |

Hi Mommies,
It is so exciting to have a new baby on this board, it's hard to believe it's been a month since Michael John was born. Wendy, good luck, I'll be thinking about you today. Hope you like the new doctor and that your delivery goes smoothly. Amy, that is so cool that you are feeling movement! How's your m/s? Desp, ditto on the heat and humidity. Only two more days and I will be living in AC until this baby is born! Today I have to go to the city, which is getting to be something of a treat since driving around in AC is a joy to me. Hope everyone is having a good day today, I'll check in later. Saludos, Suzanne

Morning, mommies!
Congratulations, Pauline and welcome Cassidy!!! ![]() Well, my headache has now progressed to full blown nausea this morning. I had some pumpernickel and that helped settle my tummy.. it sucks to be nauseous AND hungry at the same time. All while discussing TTC with my mother before she left for work. Kind of awkward, but I kept up the ruse. I felt kind of silly, but that will make it even more funny if the baby sticks and we can send them a copy of the u/s in a couple months. Anyways, heading back home tonight.. later! |

Congrats Pauline and welcome Cassidy! The pictures are so cute!
I'm staying home today, so I can actually post on a thread during the week. Have a horrible headache, and.... think I broke my little toe. I dropped a very heavy jar of green olives on it last night. It hurts to put pressure on it and it's "just" a little bruised. Only I could injure myself with olives! Amy- I'm so jealous that you're recognizing movement! We're about the same week and I think I've felt something, but am not 100% sure yet. I am quite a bit heavier than you, and understand that can make a big difference. Thanks for everyone's advice about the meanie nurse. I'm going to broach it with my doc on Wednesday. I go for an ultrasound next Monday and hope that the baby will cooperate and "show the world"! My husband can't go with me (he'll be in a class), but my mother and MIL are going with! Should be interesting. Best to everybody! Dierdre |

Pauline- CONGRATS!!!!!!
to the world Cassidy. She is adorable. Amy- I am sure you are feeling the baby- isn't it wonderful. Suzanne- You are craking me up - wanting to drive around all day in a car. I do feel really comfortable in the car- the seat seems to fit right into my back. Wendy- You are at the top of the list!!! Hope you are feeling good. I think my dh offically has lost his mind. We have been debating on purchasing a new car. His car is 10 years old and it has been a wonderful car- never gave us any problems- but it has over 180,000 miles on it and it's time for a new one. He is insistant on purchasing another Ford- and I can't fight this since his current car has been so good. So I thought we had it narrowed down to the escape or explorer. Today he comes home and states we should get the caravan- WHAT! I am not the caravan driving type- I told him he can drive that if he wants but not me- UGH!!! ![]()

Congratulations Pauline!
WeLcOmE Cassidy Paige! I can't wait to hear your birth story either! I hope your labor was pretty easy. She is beautiful. Wendy~ Are you up today? for you!Quote:
Smiley~Hi! It's getting close to the time where you can officially start "trying" right? Exciting! Suzanne~Enjou the AC and have a safe trip. Sarah~ That massage sounds wonderful. I think I'm getting sciatic (or false sciatic) pain already. I try to stretch, but no relief. Amy~Yay on feeling the baby! I *thought* I felt my bean this weekend, but it only happened once. I was sitting still too. Hi Cyn! Hi Desp~ I hope your TMI pain goes away. That really sucks. Well, my amnio went fine on Friday. It didn't hurt, just a little cramping when the needle hits the uterus. Its mostly the idea of it all that I had trouble with. My DH was with me and I think I crushed all the bones in his hand! Just wait till labor, LOL. We got to see a really in depth ultrasound, which was neat. Everything looked fine there. I asked if they could tell the sex yet, and the tech *thought* girl, but we'll know for sure when we get the amnio results. They said if you are going to m/c from an amnio, it usually happens within 24 hours, so I took it really easy this weekend; made DH take me to dinner, etc. Now we wait! Kelley

It may be difficult because DH just had a shift switch at work and now will be working 2nd shift. 3:00 - 11:30PM. So the dancing will have to be done either right when he gets home - he will have to wake me up - or first thing in the AM before I get up for work. Should be interesting.

Good morning all!
Just hanging around the house today. Last week off for me then back to teaching for 3 weeks, unless he comes early ....Got up early to tidy up the house - my friend is coming over to see the nursery....... I will take some pics this afternoon and try to get them posted today or tomorrow. I think it is finally done. Speaking of broken feet - i went to babies r us last week and this doofy guy in line behind me dropped a big can of formula right on my foot! I didn't break it, but it hurt that night!!!!!!!!!!! My friend gave us a used bassinette... I put it by the bed, but i am wondering if i will use it? Are any of you planning on using one? I will drop in later. Amy

Good morning ladies! I hope you all had a great weekend!
![]() This weekend went by so fast! On Saturday we went and got our registry done at Babies R Us. That store is AMAZING! I could spend hours. It was nice to get it done though. I spent the rest of the weekend (after the massage) getting stuff done around the house. We had a log bed in our bedroom (not my fav) and we got rid of it. It was just too big for our room. The room looks huge now! ![]() Last night I sorted through a bunch of baby clothes and got a load washed. It is so fun looking at all of those teeny little outfits. I can't wait for our baby to get here!! Amy: Congrats on feeling movement! How exciting!!!! FL: I'm sorry that you are experiencing pain. I hope you feel better! Suzanne: Have a great day enjoying the AC!! ![]() Smiley: I'm so excited for you to start trying!!! Dar: Feel better! I know first hand how yucky headaches and nausea are. Take it easy today. Cyn: Hi!!! Diedre: Ouch!! Take care of that toe!! Kristen: Good luck car shopping. I hope you get one that you like! Kelley: I'm so glad that your amnio went okay! That's great!! I can't wait to hear what you are having for sure! ![]() Teach: 18 days, how exciting!! littlebear: We are planning on using a bassinet in our bedroom. I want our little guy close by for those first few weeks. ![]() |

HI Everyone -
I am still here and pregnant. When I went to my last appt. on Thursday, they cancelled the induction. My Dr. is coming in the office tomorrow and wants to see her OB patients that are due in the next couple of weeks. I hadn't made much progress (1cm dialated and 40% effaced). I am hoping to see a little bit more progress when I go tomorrow morning. DH is going to take me to the appt tomorrow. Pauline - Congratulations on the arrival of Cassidy! She is a cutie. Amy - WooHoo on feeling the baby move. Desp - I hope the pain goes away. I feel for you with the heat and humidity. We have the heat, but not the humidity! THere have been a couple of days we have had both and I don't know how you all handle it. Suzanne - Drive carefully into the city and enjoy the A/C! Dar20 - Hope the headache has gone away! Feel Better! Dierdre - Hope your toe feels better! That is definitely painful! Kristen - Too funny about DH and the car. I have the Ford Windstar and love it and DH hates it. I have been feeling good except for the dang heartburn! Kelley - Glad to hear all went well with the Amnio. Glad you took it easy. I remember when I did mine I didn't do anything. I had my DH, mom and brother taking care of me Teach - Good luck at the Dr. Little Bear - I am planning on using bassinet. My mom is bringing out when she comes for the delivery. Between my SIL, her Sister and me it has been used several times and still in very good condition. Cynthia - DH and I were definitely hoping it was going to be today. SO did our families. I am definitely going to be joining all of you after my little one arrives. Mrs. Sarah - WooHoo on getting your registry done! Good luck on the Glucose Test. Will try and check in later with everyone! Wendy |

Congratulations Pauline!!
Cassidy Paige is adorable. And I love the name! Can't wait to read your birth story!! Hi everybody. Hope you all had a great weekend. Nothing really new, just hanging out trying to stay cool and comfortable. This pregnancy has been flying by! Not much longer to go at all. Glad you are feeling better with the M/S Amy. It is cool to feel movement. I started feeling the baby move at 14 weeks and everybody told me that I wasn't actually feeling the baby because it was too early for a first time mom!! Not true. In another couple of weeks, DH should be able to feel the baby when his hand is on your tummy. That is really cool!! Cindy, Lexie is so cute!! Teething already.. they don't stay babies long do they? Wendy, good luck progressing! How big do they think baby is now? How was kindergarden for Madison? Did she cry? Did you cry? Kristen, I'm sure you'll get everything done in time. If not, oh well. I figure I can alway do the nursery in stages. She'll be with me most of the time at the beginning anyways. I am not a fan of the Caravan. My BIL bought one in 1998 and just had to spend over $1000 on a new transmission. His A/C stopped working last year, and he's had a bunch more smaller problems. If he has his heart set on a minivan, what about those Nissan Quests or Toyota Siennas. Lost of my friends have both and the coolness factor seems a little higher, especially with the quest. It looks neat, and not so much like a mommy-mobile. Plus, they have better fuel economy and pretty decent consumer report ratings. I drive a 4-runner and I love it!! Kelley, that is great news with the amnio and I'm glad you took it easy this weekend. Trolly, have you been playing with your new camcorder? We lucked out. The day after we bought our camcorder DH's work gave away 100 of the hi-8 tapes that we use with our camera. His work moved to a different system and rather than throwing the tapes out, they gave them away! We took them all! That will save us a bundle. Sarah, my weekend went by too quickly as well, and I'm even finished working!! I just noticed that the Toys R Us in the mall has changed its sign to Baby's R Us. I should venture inside and see what they are carrying. Good luck with the test Teach. I guess I'll need my group B strep fairly soon. Amybear, enjoy your last week off. You are brave working up to your due date!! We also got a bassinet and since we haven't yet purchased a crib, I've been thinking of keeping it by the bed for the first couple of months at least. It will be nice to have the baby close at the beginning especially at night since I'm planning on breast feeding. Suzanne and Florida, I have no idea how you guys can tolerate the heat. It get over 70 degrees here and I'm useless. Enjoy the A/C. Dar, welcome the the wonder first trimester of sickness and exhaustion. I hope it doesn't last too long for you!! Dierdre, good luck with the doctor and the mean nurse. I wonder why some people feel the need to give such "attitude". I'll bet you aren't the first person to complain about her. Hope your foot is okay. I've been such a clutz lately. I tripped and bruised my arm, fell and skinned my knees, burned my hand while trying to make tea and I hit my head on the car door getting into it. And this has all been in the last few days! DH is very worried about me, but I think being off balance is very common for this stage of pregnancy. amy, my we have a lot of amys here, good luck with the baby-making. Sucks about his work schedule but where there is a will, there is a way.Have a happy monday everybody Nicole |
