Happy Weenend Mommies,
I decided to trim the list a little bit to make room at the top for all the new babies we are expecting. Hopefully this will encourage Pauline's little one to hurry up and make an apprearance. My whole body aches and I have no idea why. It's getting to the point where I really don't want to be pregnant anymore. Saludos, Suzanne |

Morning Mommies....hope everyone has a restful weekend.
We took my 8 year old son last night to our local Aquarium that has now opened something called Explore A Shore. Basically it's a water play area with an attached outdoor bar/restaurant for the parents. He had a blast for hours running around playing in the fountains, mist, shipwrecked ship. We then realized this younger girl kept following him everywhere he went. Suddenly I realized I might possibly be entering the "crush" stage of his life. A little later he came over and said he was ready to go. Totally amazed us as he loves water things. Come to find out, his little "friend" was leaving. So as we were leaving and he was putting his shoes on, she came running by asking what his name was. He told her, only to tell me she comes every Friday night and now he'd like to also. So I told him to go ask her what her name was....as my husband and I caught up with him, we overhear him ask her "Can I have your phone number?" What a flirt!!!!!!!!!! The girls mother told him "she has no phone" ![]() |

Hello all,
Up early today cleaning the house..... What else is new? I am sick of being pregnant too. I just want him out!!!!!!!!!!! Hope you all have a good weekend!Oh as far as the camcorder question, I have a canon zr45, i love it. It is digital and awesome, but not all overpriced like some are. Check around online, you can really save some money. Digitial just means it records to a smaller tape, with higher quality, good if you want to make movies on the computer. IF you just want to make a vcr tape, i would just get a regular one. Digital is for making dvd's etc. amy

Good morning! I'm with several of you here... want him OUT! I know, not very long now, but I'm sore and tired. Not sleeping much is getting to me. 20 more days.
My dd has her first ever soccer games today. Yes, gameS. They are playing a tournament to rank the teams, so they play 4 mini-games in one day. While I love watching her have fun, the thought of sitting outside in the CA sun for the next 5 hours is not very appealing to me! I hope there's some shade near the field. Sigh. The things we do for our kids. Desp.... LOL at your son flirting already. 8 is a bit your to become a "ladies man". ![]()

Hi, laides!
Just wanted to check in. Flight to St. Louis was great, although completely full. Had a nice day with Mom yesterday.. had a wonderful lunch then some shopping. Then last night, went down to the riverfront with Mom & Dad to see the St. Louis Sympony perform on the banks of the Mississippi under the Arch. Very Cool! Also, very COLD! I was SO COLD.. I'm not used to 60 degree weather... Fortunately it's warmed up today. Anyways, lots of things planned for the weekend. Weird thing is, my Mom is watching me like a hawk, and I feel like I have to sneak in some carbs when I can! She's so paranoid about my diet and if she's going to screw something up. I told her to chill about it, not to worry and I'll be fine. Like she wanted Quizno's for dinner, but "couldn't" since I couldn't have anything. Of course, I set her mind at ease.. but she's just not usually this paranoid. It tempts me to spill the beans just to calm her down! But, I won't. I had an Arizona Diet Green Tea w/ Ginseng last night (my fav), then proceeded to read in What to Expect.. afterwards that I should stay away from green tea! UGH!!! Sorry to all the mommies feeling sore today. I hope it gets better soon. Must be off! |

Desp, that is so cute about your son! My DS is the only blue eyed, blond haired boy in town so the girls go crazy over him. DH took him to a birthday party last week and he said, "All these girls were coming up and kissing Max, even older girls!" When I asked what he meant by older, he said some 8 or 9 year olds. Cradle robbers, DS is only 2!
Teach, hope you don't get a sun burn! Little Bear, I second that motion--I just want this over with but not until my midwife gets back. So I spend lots of time every day trying not to think labor thoughts but it sure is hard. Dar, that sounds like a great time, especially the temps in the 60s! This morning I took a lounge chair to the end of our pier, threw it water about 3 feet deep, and sat there for over an hour to get rid of the swelling. I'm going back soon.... Where's Pauline!!!!?????!!!!! I just know she had that baby.... |

Oops, posted this in Friday's thread...
Morning, So yesterday, totally out of the blue, I get a package in the mail with a baby gift and a card with $250 in it. I was so excited because I've been wanting to get a camcorder for a while now but with all of the other baby expenditures we've been putting it off. So we went and bought one last night. Here it is... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...#more-pictures It's a video Hi8/Digital 8, whatever the heck that means. I'm going to have to educate myself on the technology and how to use it. I've decided that I don't want to take it to the hospital because things tend get stolen in hospitals, plus I don't want DH to be distracted from the moment by trying to figure out a new gadget. But we'll have it for her first year. |

Just wanted to add my amen! and hellelujah! to getting this baby OUT! I was shopping for lil' clothes today and another mother said, "You really look ready to have that baby!" Funny that even a stranger can tell by the look on my face. My belly is just humongous at this point and when she moves it rearranges my guts, she's so big. I can't believe I'm packin' 6.5 lbs of baby.
I'm sooo curious to hear about Pauline's birth, assuming that's where she is! Suzanne--I know what you mean about achiness. I feel like an 80 year-old woman. Desp--How cute about your son. I can't believe he's already asking for 'digits'! Lil Bear--Thnks for the advice. I think we did get a good deal because we bought an open item (that had been returned) for $100 less than the retail price plus all open items come with a $50 gift card, which we were able to rebate back to the overall price. So basically we got $150 off and it looks like whoever returned it never even opened the package. teach--Only 18 more days for me, so we're neck and neck. Only you know for SURE that you'll be having yours by then....not fair! Dar--I would kill for cool weather right now!!!! Last edited by trolly : 08-21-2004 at 02:55 PM. |

Hi ladies!!
Trolly: I didn't get a chance to respond in time to your camcorder question, but it looks like that isn't a problem! You bought the exact same camcorder that my DH bought me! I love that thing!! I went and had my prenatal massage today. Oh...my...gosh! It was HEAVEN!! Ninety minutes of rubbing from head to toe. Incredible. I loved it so much, I booked two more sessions. I'll do one at the end of next month and one at the end of October. Then, the baby will be here a couple weeks after that! I got lucky, they were running a special this week, 2 ninety minute massages for $75. Yay!! |

Hello all!
It sounds like everyone is doing really well, although tired of being pregnant! I've been doing well, although I'm still having major food aversions. Does anyone else love their OB, but dislike his/her nurse? The nurse is so snippy that I would love to not to have to deal with her anymore. I think she's just really burnt out on her job. I was having some really bad pains 2 weekends ago, and called on Monday. She never bothered to call me, and I ended up calling her again on Tuesday a.m. She acted like I was sooo bothering her. Question: I see my OB on Wednesday. Would you tell him that his nurse is not very warm/friendly/empathetic? Dierdre PS- WOW!! Mrs. Sarah that is a fantastic price on massages... Glad that you enjoyed them and booked more session! Last edited by nyanchan : 08-21-2004 at 08:07 PM. |

Mrs Sarah--I really like it too. It's very user-friendly. We've already made a mini-movie for practice.
Nyanchan--I wold definitely either say something directly to the doc or if you don't feel comfortable doing that you could write a letter. He needs feedback since patients spend much of their time in the office interacting with the (mean) nurse. I see the same nurse every time and she's a sweetie, which makes my whole visit pleasant. That's how it should be! Plus that is just incompetence that she didn't call you back! |

nyanchan: I wouldn't hesitate for one second to say something. The way that nurse is acting is totally out of line. The way I look at it, we are all paying for their services and it is their JOB to provide good service and to make us feel comfortable. If she's so put out by having to do her job, then she should look for a new one. I would definitely say something directly to the doctor.

Happy Sunday, everyone. Believe me.. 60 was COLD. 70 is perfect..
I have had an AWFUL headache since yesterday afternoon. Nothing seems to help it go away.. small snacks, a nice dinner, a good night's sleep.. nothing. It's killing me. I finally broke down and took some Tylenol, but it hasn't helped a bit. I also have this general feeling of ickyness... I'm shaky and just feel like I'm going to hurl or die. But I don't really feel nauseous, just icky. Anyways, I'm wishing I could just rest and stay home, but we have big plans for the day and I definitely don't want to miss the baseball game! Sarah, for our anniversary in June, hubby won an auction for $500 worth of services at a local salon. I haven't used it yet (haven't needed a haircut yet), but they have prenatal massages... they have a package deal for something like 6 months worth.. I think I might save it for that! Have a good day! |

Ladies, those prenatal massages sound wonderful! That is just what I need right now. We have a big group of 40 here right now, 20 are divers and the rest just hang around the shop asking me questions. I have been up and down the stairs, and back and forth down the pier, about a hundred times already today. Somebody needs to go to the city tomorrow to fill our O2 tanks and I told DH that somebody would be ME! I love driving around in the car these days, it is so much easier than anything else I do.
Trolly, woohoo on the digital video camera! Nyan, I would definitely say something to the doctor. OB is no place for a grumpy nurse. Dar, sorry to hear about your headache. I had them really bad during the first 17 weeks (the same time period I had m/s) but I haven't had any since. I turned on the AC in my room and I think it might be a good time to go hide in there for a while. Hasta pronto, Suzanne |

Dar, I would definitely save for it. It was pure heaven. I was a little nervous, because I'm self conscious of my body, but I bit the bullet and stripped down to nothing. I hopped on the table under the sheet. They had this square shaped pillow that ran the length of the table. You rested your arm and one leg on it, so you were laying on your side. Then the masseuse came in. She started with my back. She rubbed one side of it from my shoulders all the way down to my butt. It was so nice. Then, she coved me up and rubbed my leg and foot. AWESOME! Then she had me flip over to my other side where she did the other side of my back, leg and foot. Then she got a pyramid shaped pillow and put it up at my head so that I was elevated and not flat on my back and she put a pillow under my knees. There she rubbed my arms and hands, then belly, and then finished up by rubbing my shoulders, neck, face and head.
I can't wait for the next one!! Everyone should get one of these!! Last edited by Mrs Sarah : 08-22-2004 at 12:07 PM. |
