G'Morning Ladies!! Well I'm glad I got that good nights sleep the other night. We ended up having to take our basset hound to the emergency vet last night. Told my hubby to get used to this, as soon we'll have a little one we're panicing over. Seems she has what the doctor calls "montezuma's revenge"...or too much stress in a short amount of time. Between the move/stay elsewhere for Hurricane Charley and her freaking out over a fly in the house the other night...she made herself sick. Needless to say, we were up and down all night holding her ears for her while she threw up She really knows how to play the sad/pitiful basset look when she needs to, let me tell ya.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. My son lives with my ex so he can stay at his private school....and starts 4th grade on Tuesday!! He actually tested out of 3rd and is skipping...so we want to do something special for him this weekend as he prepares for a new challenge in his life. I'm so proud of what a young man he's becoming so quickly.

Hope everyone has a great day.....and a fun-filled, relaxing weekend.

Good Morning Everyone!

Desp~ I hope your doggie feels better soon. It's so sad when you know they don't feel well and can't tell you what's up. Yay on fourth grade for your son!

I'm up early (for me) and am about to hop on a flight home and have my amnio today. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the advice your doc gave you if you had the amnio, Desp. I guess I'll just take it easy this weekend!

Good morning!! TGIF!! I'm sleepy again today. *yawn* I'm so glad the weekend is almost here.

There's not too much going on here. The baby was kicking like a wild child this morning and DH sat with me in bed for awhile to feel him. I love that.

We got some junk hauled out of our garage last night. We're going to have a yard sale at my mom's house next weekend, so we got a bunch of stuff hauled over there to sell. I'm going to go through closets and stuff this weekend to get rid of stuff that we just don't need. It'll be nice to get this stuff outta here before the baby gets here. Hopefully I'll make a little money too.

FL: I'm sorry about your poor puppy! I hope it gets to feeling better. Congrats on your son skipping 3rd grade! How exciting!

Kelley: I've seen you mention flying a few times, where do you fly from??? Good luck on your amnio today. I pray that everything goes well!

Hi Mommies-

Desp- Poor dog- hope he feels better soon. Great news about your son - he must be a very smart young man.

Kelley-You have probably already left but good luck with your amnio.

Sarah- I want/need to clean out my closets this weekend. I keep debating on having a garage sale but I think I will just give stuff to goodwill. I don't think I have the energy to do a garage sale.

We ordered the carpet last night and it might be 3 weeks before it is installed- (cutting it a little close). I can't wait. They still carried the same brand that we have in the other rooms so I will have all matching carpet upstairs. (We have burber <sp> downstairs.)

My DH has a bad case of poison Ivy and it is driving him nuts. Anyone have any good home made remedies that might help?

Kristen: I wouldn't have the energy to do a yard sale by myself either. Fortunately I'll have my mom and DH to help.

As far as poison ivy, you can mix baking soda and water into a paste and apply to the rash, it might help. They sell gells and stuff at the grocery store to calm it too. Has he taken any benedryl?

Sarah-

Benedryl is a good Idea- He has been using something called ivy dry or something and it looks horrible. I made him sleep on the coach because I didn't want all my sheets messed up- poor guy. He normally gets a bad case once a year- I swear it blows in the wind and he gets it.

Hi Everyone -

Had an appt. yesterday. BP was good, weight was good and did another Non Stress Test. They are not going to induce me on the 22nd. The Dr is coming in the office on Tuesday the 24th and wants to see all her OB patients that are due within the next two weeks. She is just coming in for a couple of hours as she is not able to return to work yet full-time. So, basically when I go into labor I will have a different doctor unless by some miracle she recovers quickly. I am actually ok with it.

I was only 40% effaced and dialated 1 cm. I am making progress, however I would have thought I would be progressed further as I am only 10 days from my due date.

Desp - WooHoo to your son. Enjoy your weekend with him. Hope your dog is feeling better soon!

Kelley - Good luck at the Amnio. Just remember not to do anything for the next 24 hours and just relax.

Sarah - DH and I need to clean out our garage so bad. We actually talked about it the other day but don't know when we will have time to do it. Hope you do make some $$ at the sale.

Kristen - Glad you found the same carpet. Hope your DH feels better soon! Do you get to relax this weekend!

Well, DD and I are going to do some school shopping today since she will be starting Kindergarten in 1 week

Will check in with you later!

Wendy

FL - Sorry about your poor puppy. But the image of you holding his ears strikes me as pretty humorous! And congrats to your DS!!

Hi everybody,

Just got back from the dentist. I chipped a tooth, but I won't have it fixed until after the baby is born. Everything else was fine and I didn't even vomit from the flouride treatment. I'm not a big fan of the flouride!

Saw the doctor yesterday and my weight is back up to what is was a couple of weeks ago. The doctor wasn't too concerned. The great news is that my blood pressure was only 114/65, a far cry from those high readings earlier!! Not working is certainly agreeing with me!

I have a friend coming to visit from North Carolina... just waiting for her call and I'll go pick her up. It will be fun to see her- she'll be staying for a couple of weeks.

Good luck Wendy! Did you want to be induced or are you glad they are going to let you go naturally? Did I tell you that DH didn't get offered the job.. he is disappointed but he was the second choice. Lost out to somebody with a Phd in engineering. Over-qualified I would think. Oh well.

Hope the amnio goes well Kelley. Take it easy this weekend.

Kristen-yuck on the poison ivy. Good thing you and Jessica didn't get it. Our area is having trouble with some new kind of weed- I don't remember the name, but it looks harmless enough. There are these big white flowers and if you touch either stalks or flowers your skin erupts in horrible blisters and burns that can last for weeks. All these poor unsuspecting gardeners have what look like almost gashes on their arms because of these evil plants. I want to call it hogweed... but I'm not sure of the name.

Sarah-good luck with the garage sale. I just gave away a bunch of stuff to the Salvation Army after cleaning up what will be the baby's room. The extra $$$ would be nice from a garage sale, but I really couldn't be bothered with the extra work.

Hi Fluff. How are all the new mommies doing? Guess I'll be over at that challenge board in a month. Yikes, so soon.

Anybody hear from Pauline? Maybe she's pushing out her lump as we speak. Then we'll get to find out her secret name!!

Desp-that is so sad about puppy!! Amazing how stress affects even dogs. Our pooch got hot spots really badly last week and she was so miserable. She just moped around the house and looked really upset. She also stressed out over a fly in the house. The vet thinks the HS were caused by wasp-stings and that was why the buzzing from the fly preturbed her so much. She is now on prednisone and anti-biotics and is back to her old self, aside from the pathetic looking bald-spot on her tail.

Hi to Suzanne and Martha, Darlene and the Amys. I'm sure you guys will be checking in eventually. Has anybody been in contact with Bozo? She is getting near her due date too and I haven't see her in ages.

Have a great Friday

Nicole

Nicole - Sorry that DH didn't get the job. Hopefully something else will come up for him that is perfect!!!! The only reason they were inducing was the size of the baby. DD was induced 2 weeks early and was still 9lbs 7oz. I am happy that I get to see my Dr. on Tuesday, but boy am I ready to have this baby!

Katie - Hi There!!!! Kaden is a little cutie. Believe me I am ready to have this little one. I will definitely be joining all of you on the Challenge Board! Good to see you.

Kristen - We just got back from school shopping and I am exhausted. I still need to find 2 more items on her list.

oh i wanted to post really quick ....

I was told to stay as far away from feta and blue cheese as I could . The reason for this is cause it can cause brain damage in the baby witch i had not known . Upuntill 15 weeks i was having a greek salad everyday ! So who knows what I ahve done . But thats what i have found out from the midwife and ob at the ER the other night .

Hi Guys,

Nothing new here...just waiting, waiting. I wanted to ask if any of you are investing in a camcorder and if so, what kind? I'm guessing that most people buy digital these days but we went and looked and the digital were a lot more expensive. I have no idea where to start as far as features, brands, etc. And what do the digital ones record to, a microchip? I'm clueless...

Mrs. Sarah--Didn't your hubby just buy you one recently?

Hi Trolly,

We just bought a Sony Hi-8 camcorder, not digital. I figured that since we were not making real movies, just home videos, we didn't need digital. The videos turned out really nicely and we didn't have to spent too much money on it. It has a really good zoom and I think it retails for only $200 US. We have a Sony Mastercard and get free Sony products, so I don't think we paid anything but the taxes on our new camcorder!!

Good luck with your decision.

Hi Mommies,

Our satellite internet was down this morning, then I had to go change traveler's checks. Who was asking recently about a 5 hour drive at 35 weeks? FYI, I drove 7 hours round trip today at 36 1/2 weeks and it was the most comfortable day I have had in ages. I discovered a wonderful thing: I don't swell at all if I am in AC. And the drive didn't cause me any other problems or any more or less Braxton Hicks contractions. I may go live in the truck until we leave for Puerto Aventuras and central AC next week.

No word from Pauline?

Sorry, too tired for personals but I missed checking in with you all today.

Hasta mañana,

Suzanne

Morning,

So yesterday, totally out of the blue, I get a package in the mail with a baby gift and a card with $250 in it. I was so excited because I've been wanting to get a camcorder for a while now but with all of the other baby expenditures we've been putting it off. So we went and bought one last night. Here it is...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...#more-pictures

It's a video Hi8/Digital 8, whatever the heck that means. I'm going to have to educate myself on the technology and how to use it. I've decided that I don't want to take it to the hospital because things tend get stolen in hospitals, plus I don't want DH to be distracted from the moment by trying to figure out a new gadget. But we'll have it for her first year.
