Good morning ladies.

Thanks to those who posted on my thread over in the main lobby. I didn't want to bore you all with my food difficulties. I got a few more ideas to try anyway.

Well, it is my night off tonight so my husband and I are going to go to the Mall of America to do a little shopping since I don't have to go to bed so early. I'm going to get a few pairs of my favorite pants in a couple sizes larger for work and then check out the maternity stores to see what I will have to get when I outgrow those. The 16's I have now fit perfect, but I have a feeling that my belly is really going to pop anyday now so I want some bigger ones on hand as I hate wearing tight pants. It is getting really firm below my belly button and I've had some stretching pains in my lower abdomen the past few days. When I lean over at my desk it feel like a cantalope in there, LOL! I have a little tummy already, but it is from my intestines getting huge after adding the carbs a few month ago.

Well, I guess that is all from me today. Everyone have a happy "hump day".

Morning everyone,

Went for a long hike yesterday with a bunch of American women, it was really nice. Not much new to report here, busy packing and getting ready to leave.

Wish me luck with the doctors appt tomorrow, I am getting an early ultra sound and am excited about it. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to ask? I think I need to make a list...

Hope everyone is well!

Martha, I hope you have a good dr. visit and a wonderful/safe trip! I already have a long list of questions to ask my dr. I can share them with you if you'd like. Send me a PM.

I'm looking forward to going home. I'm not telling my parents yet, so I hope I don't give anything away. I don't really think they'll notice if I'm not drinking.. I'm not a big drinker anyways and they know that I'm lc'ing. But then there's the jacuzzi.. I don't usually get in it. I think I'll conveniently forget my swimsuit. I already told my Mom I'll probably be 'cheating' this weekend already.. even before I knew I was pg. How can I go to a baseball game and NOT get a pretzel with cheese, or go to tea and not have a scone, I ask you?!

I've been eating about 65-80 total carbs, and I'm still measuring in ketosis! Weird.. Dr. A said that if you eat >50 carbs, it shouldn't register on the sticks.

Hi Dar,

Thanks, I sent you a PM.

I've told my parents, and a few friends...haven't told my brothers yet, though.

When I did Lean for Life (my first LC experience) I usually ate 80-100 grams a day and remained in ketosis most of the time. The good carbs (complex ones) get metabolized better, I think. You just have to make sure they are spread out over the day so you don't overload.

I ate a grilled cheese sandwich on some health bread here for breakfast, it had 14 carbs and tasted great! Now it's all I want....

Hey all,

I am here, I am hurtin' tho.

I can't sleep, I can't sit, I can't stand, I can't walk. This kid is so far into my pelvis it's not even funny...

...she had better be packing up her bags cause I am going to evict her myself. :/

Does anyone know anything about late babies? Does it run in the family? I was three weeks late.

Pauline- You poor thing- I feel for you. I was 8 days late with Jessica and I remember being miserable. I don't know if it runs in families but I do think it is normal for 1st time Moms- I am sending labor vibes your way. Maybe some of the other girls can give you tips to bring on labor. I have heard of eating eggplant - walking- having sex - good luck and try to relax-

Good morning!
Pauline, (((((((((hugs))))))))))). I hope that baby gets herself together and comes soon. I do think that on time/late runs in families. We'll see, I guess. I'm right with ya on the uncomfortable part!!

I'm back to not sleeping well at all! Really cannot sleep in bed because my hips and pelivs just ache so bad! I sleep some in the recliner, but that's not so good either. Hope I get a nap later....

Laprettygurl - I hope you go soon. I have heard that Chinese food helps with labor - that could be myth, I don't know.

Also, the lady who used to do my nails said she would never do a pedicure on a very pregnant lady because there are certain pressure points on the feet that are believed to help induce labor. She actually gave a pedicure to two pregnant ladies onece and sure enough, within 24 hours they went into labor. Coincidenc?? So, why don't you relax and go get a pedicure - if it doesn't work, at least your toes will look nice for when you do go into labor.

Good morning to everyone else.

So, yesterday I switched to taking my prenatal pills in the AM, before work and they seem to not have a bad effect on me, so that is good. I didn't like taking them at night because I eat dinner late and had trouble waiting the 2-3 hours after I eat to take the pill vs. 1 hour before eating.

Hi Mommies,

Pauline, my mom had 5 children, all born 12 to 21 days late. My 7 neices and nephews were all late except for one placenta previa. I was induced with Max 4 days after my due date and I am expecting this one to stay late, too. I'm not sure if it is hereditary or just characteristic of the individual person. I know if you are early once, they expect you to be early again and visaversa. Are you taking borage seed oil? Red raspberry leaf tea? Lots of sex? Remember Cyn doing jumping jacks? LOL Last pregnancy we tried sex every day for the last month but it didn't work, it was fun trying though. This time I won't let DH have any until my midwife is back in the country...Poor guy...

Hi Ames, glad to hear you are feeling well today.

Martha, good luck at the doc?

Ellen, when are you scheduled to deliver?

Hi Kristen!

Thin- September 10th by c-section. I hate that I have no choice about surgery, but I've already had 3 surgeries using the same incision that they'll use, and the chances of uterine rupture are quite high if I go into labor. So they'll deliver me at 38 weeks and I'll be done. Counting down days now. 23!!

Morning gals! Just poppin in to say hello.

Pauline, I feel for you, having been there myself 4 1/2 months ago. As uncomfortable as I was, next time around I'd rather go a month late than be induced again!

Hopefully that next time comes soon. I'm at day 10 since my cycle started last week, so we're going to do hump day right tonight (and probably every night for the next week and a half.) It IS fun trying.

Have fun at the MoA tonight, Ames. I hate that place in general, but they do have some great stores!

Have a great day everyone.

Christie

Good morning ladies! I'm back at work today, but I still feel absolutely exhausted. I feel like I haven't slept in days. Have any of you experienced this?

We were going to go camping this weekend, but I just don't think I'm up for it. I just want to hang at home and relax. Man, am I pathetic or what?!

metro: Have fun shopping!! I hope you find some good stuff!

Martha: Good luck at your ultrasound. How exciting!!!

Dar: Gosh, you are strong! I couldn't keep the news in once I found out!!

Pauline: Hang in there girlie. I'm sorry you are feeling miserable. I'm sending labor vibes your way!!

Teach: I'm with you. I feel like I spend the entire night tossing from one side to the other because something is either cramping or aching.

Smiley: I'm glad your prenatals are working for you! That's great!! It's so good to have those in your system when you conceive.

Suzanne: Hi! Are you feeling better today?

Christie: Good luck!!!

Just lurking in from the Losin the Baby Fat board to check on Sarah and all you expecting moms!

and DAR- I registered in ketosis alot that first trimester bc I wasn't eating often enough. Once I really tried to eat every 2-3 hours something, it helped. THEN i just blew low carb out the window. come 2nd trimester when I was starving ALL the time!

Good Luck everyone!!

Morning,

I wrote this long post yesterday, lots of personals and everything, hit the submit reply button and the internet kicked out!! OOOOHHHH, so frustrating.

Had a busy day yesterday. Painted the back door, vaccuumed (against drs orders ), organized the house and did some painting. I also did laundry and got quite teary because I washed the new baby clothes, including what will be her going home outfit. The clothes are so tiny and cute, I can't believe the baby will be so small!!

I'm with all those third-trimester mommies who can't sleep. I find I'll start off in a comfy position on my side, but eventually my shoulder gets sore, but when I move my big bulging abdomen starts to ache. Last night I got suck on my back for a bit when I tried to flip over, because I couldn't build up enough momentum to move onto my other side, past my big belly!!! That and the kid kicked all night. UGGGGGH!!

So funny the other day. Went to a work function for DH and everybody was asking me about the baby and how I was feeling. I hadn't slept well the night before and I told them I was exhausted because "Last night I got pounded for about four hours straight". You should have seen the looks my husband got. I think they have a newfound respect for him.

Amy, don't worry too much about the weight gain. I gained about ten pounds right away, just from adding carbohydrates to my diet. Everything leveled off, and I think I've gained about twelve pounds at 34 weeks. I didn't have as bad M/S as you, but I still had some strong food aversions and I just ate what I could keep down. My biggest problem was constipation. Everything seemed to bung me up big-time. I guess because I couldn't eat a lot of veggies, but that was really uncomfortable. Have you looked at the Brewer diet. I can't remember the link, but I think it is Blueribbonbaby.com or something similar. There is a lot of protein and whole grains on the diet, but Dr Brewer thinks that conventional drs worry too much about weight gain and pregnancy. A friend of mine follow the Brewer diet to the letter and gained about fifty pounds, all of which she lost within three months of giving birth.

Pauline, sorry you are so uncomfortable!! Hopefully baby will be out of you soon. Unfortunatly, I do think late babies run in families. Rest up now though, because think how little sleep you'll be getting very soon. Have your nesting instincts hit yet?

Christie, good luck! DH and I are already talking about baby number two! It has been a fairly easy pregnancy, but I still have to see about labour.

Suzanne, did you guys ever get the rain yesterday? Has your head cleared from the fumes? I had to lie down after painting the back door and cleaning the bathroom yesterday. Some of those chemicals are pretty harsh!!

Sarah, rest up while you can. I've been tired this entire third trimester. I miss those golden days of pregnancy in the second trimester... energy, feeling smallish, no aches or pains or nausea! Ah, the good old days.

Cannot believe how soon everybody's due date is coming up!! Pauline, Wendy, Suzanne, Tolly.... and I'm coming up too. Exciting but scary too. For those of you not having scheduled c-sections, have you been trying to predict a day that you'll have the baby. My guess is Sept 16th, and I think Bethany will weigh just over 8 pounds. DH thinks Sept 22nd and thinks baby will be 8 pounds five ounces. Nobody thinks she'll be small!!

I hope you have a good vacation Dar!!

You too Martha, and good luck at the doctors. Next year, when baby's have been born, you and I should do a house exchange. Victoria BC is lovely city and a great tourist destination, and you know how I feel about Stockholm, hehe.

Kristen, glad you had a good nights sleep. Wish I could say the same. At least, with being off of work, I can have a nap during the day!!

Amy- I'm glad you can tolerate the vitamins. I took prenats for a full year before I got pregnant.

I'm going to get my hair cut and coloured now. Does anybody else notice more grey hair since becoming pregnant? I only had a couple of strands and now I have about fifty or so coming in at my temples. And I know those aren't going away!!
Hi to everybody else!
Have a great day

Hi to everybody else!
Have a great day

Nicole
Funny you mention this. I'm only 25, but I swear I've seen a few grey hairs popping out since I've become pregnant. I'm cool with it. I plan to grow old gracefully and will not color it.

Well, I hit the jackpot at Sears at the mall. I got 4 pairs of maternity pants for under 20 buck since they were on clearance. I opted not to buy the larger size in the regular pants. The maternity fit good in the butt and thighs, so now I just have to figure out how to clip up the front till the tummy grows more.

I went to the Motherhood Maternity store too and found a nice looking shirt for 10 bucks. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with this store though. Altough it was fun to put the belly pillow on underneath when I was trying on the shirt!

Well, I've had enough fun for one day. I'm off to bed now so I don't screw up my midnight sleeping schedule too bad, LOL.

Nicole-

Isn't that fun trying to guess. When I was pg with Jessica my mom's office did a poll- everyone put in a dollar and the closest person to the correct due date, weight, sex got to keep the money- They where so sweet because the person who won bought Jessica a gift with the money- Isn't that sweet-

Nichole: I haven't noticed grey hairs, but I am noticing that I'm not losing any hair. That's a bad thing for me. I have VERY thick hair and used to shed a ton, but it helped keep my hair volume down. Now, it's all just staying in there and my hair looks YUCKY. I hate it. I bet after I give birth that it will fall out in big chunks... fun.

Amy, do you have a MM outlet store near you? When a friend of mine was pg, we checked out MM at the mall together, and were not impressed, either. So, I drove her to Orlando to check the outlet store.. she found TONS of stuff there.
