Good morning ladies. Hope I got all the updates from the weekend correct for everyone.

The last few days have been so much better for me. The nausia has been pretty much gone, except for a few nasty moments a day. My next step is to try to get off the meds...probably my next day off I'll brave it. However, the heartburn is becoming almost unbearable at times. Tums don't help, and milk is about the only thing that keeps it at bay for a while. I've also been sucking on *gasp* peppermint Lifesavers too. I swore I'd stay away from the sugar, but I've been so gassy since I was sick last week that I didn't think sugar alcohols would be very good to ingest at this time. The Lifesavers sort of help the heartburn, but they also help get rid of this nasty taste I get in my mouth after eating. It tastes like poop smells I tell ya. I would rather chew gum, but I'm sensitive to aspartame and ALL the sugar free gum has it in it. I wonder if that small amount would bother me? I haven't chewed gum for years, so I don't know. I don't want to chew sugary gum either....for one because of the sugar and two the flavor doesn't last more than 10 minutes....I'd rather suck on a mint.

If the heartburn is still bad by next week and I've gotten off the nausia medicine I'm going to ask the doctor at my appointment if there is anything stronger that I can take. It's just kind of frustrating, because I'm starting to get my appetite back, but EVERYTHING gives me heartburn and leaves a gross taste in my mouth.

It is August already. All the back-to-school ads have brought back memories of school. I've only been out of colleage for 3 years, but I can't believe that I'm going to have a little one going to school in 5-6 years. It's amazing how time flies....now if February could just get hear a little sooner. I swear the last two months have seemed like 2 years! Ah well, at least I haven't thrown up in about 3 days, so maybe things will be getting better. Well, I guess that is all for now. Everyone have a great week!

Amy

Oh, I forgot to add my latest complaint, LOL. I'm having a hard time sleeping the last several days. I'll sleep about 2 hours, get up pee, go back to sleep and then another 2-3 hours more, get up to pee again and then I can't fall back asleep. Then I spend the rest of the day trying to get back to sleep only to become restless and mad at the world. I've been able to get a short nap in before work that gets me through the night...but I just don't get it. I have always slept great working midnights. I'm not drinking a lot before bed either....actually I think I've been drinking less this past week or so for the whole day. I used to be able to sleep 8-9 hours with one potty break. I've heard about this happening in the last trimester, but now?! I only got about 5 hours sleep total (not straight) so I'm praying I crash when I get home and sleep like 9+ hours. That sounds so nice. Suprisingly, I haven't really been that tired at work the last few night either despite the lack of sleep. I dunno...maybe I'll have the pregnancy thing figured out sooner or later.

Amy

Amy....if you figure it out, lemme know please! I've been up every 2-3 hours peeing ever since we got pregnant. I think one night I haven't and man did my bladder hate me when I finally woke up! Sorry to hear about the neausea still being bad, I was blessed that mine only lasted a week or so. Don't condemn yourself about the sugar or carbs, seems normal that most of us have to have them in order to get through the first trimester. I know I did...and now I am back to tons of veggies and lower carb meals.

I have to go to the lab today for my blood draw/QUAD screen test. I have awful veins and the nurses at my doctor's office refused to poke and dig into me just to find a vial of blood. Makes me look forward to my IV come baby time
Last time I was at the lab the guy said it would have been easier to cut my hand off and let me bleed into a bucket then poke me for 2 hours for 6 vials of blood...thankfully it's just one this time!!

Good Monday Morning Mommies,

Amy, that is great that you haven't been throwing up. Sorry to say but the peeing at night will continue and even get worse. It is really important that you don't cut back on liquids. Your body is purifying not only your blood and the baby's blood, but also the amniotic fluid. I get up to pee at least ever hour all night long but I don't really wake up much. Try not turning on any lights, even walking to the bathroom with eyes still closed, dont' flush the toilet, and go straight back to bed. It's like sleep walking for me now. Your acid indigestion should get better until the 3rd trimester. Tums will be your best friend. I also take Pepcid before bed.

Hi Desp, how's your son? I hope they get the blood quickly and painlessly today. I am right handed but it is easier to get blood from my left arm. Have they tried tapping one of your legs? I have heard that sometimes that is easier if you have bad veins.

Welcome and congratulations to Supportinghubby!

We are off to Cancun in a few hours. I am having an u/s tonight at 7 PM, see the OB tomorrow, then the endocrinologist on Wed. In between the doctors, we'll do our monthly shopping. I am getting so lazy, all I really want to do is lay around in the air conditioned hotel room. I can't believe that only 2 weeks ago I was jumping out of bed and walking 10 K every morning. Oh well, if there was ever a time that I deserved to be lazy, it's now.

Hope you all have a great day!

Saludos,

Suzanne

Suzanne...he's much better thank you for asking. Still a discharge, but he's taken control of cleaning it himself at his own pain tolerance.

As for tapping a leg...no they always resort to my inner forearm or my wrist with a butterfly needle. When I had my son, I literally had an IV in my inner left wrist for days while trying to watch over him and breastfeed. I think that was worse than the actual C-Section recovery.

Enjoy your day and take the time to rest...you deserve it and need to treasure it while you still can!!

Morning, everyone.

Welcome Sarah! Where in Florida are you?

I just wanted to pop in and share this website a friend just sent me for the scrapbooking moms out there.. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/

It looks like it has some great ideas.

Also, all my bloodwork came back normal, so I guess no thyroid problems, I'm just a popsicle.

I'm waiting until the weekend to take the hpt, unless my period starts before. Did you guys know you were pregnant right away? Or did it take a test or being late to let you know? I just had a feeling I'd know.. that I'd somehow just feel different. I don't know why... weird, I know. So, anyways, I have a feeling it will be neg. Perhaps just so I'm not disappointed? An unmarried friend of mine just informed us she's 2 months pregnant by her boyfriend of 3 months. Threw me for a loop.. crap like that makes me jealous. This shouldn't be this hard, right?!

Sorry to be in a cruddy mood!

Sarah, I'm in "New Tampa".. the boonies practically. East of Bruce B Downs at Morris Bridge Rd. We often have cows and wild pigs walking around the neighborhood. Do you live near Countryway?

I think it was Lizzy that mentioned she was having erotic dreams? A dear friend of mine who's son is now 7 weeks was telling me how, even just a couple weeks before she delivered, she'd often wake up hubby in the middle of the night to see if he would oblige her. It left me dumbfounded!

G'Morning Mommies -

Amy - glad to hear your nausea is subsiding, but that really sucks about the heartburn. Suzanne's an expert on that, she may have more ideas for you (like sleeping in a more upright position?). And I wouldn't worry at all about the carbs in fesh foods or mints or even gum. This is all temporary, and you should do whatever gives you some relief! But I would stay away from the asperatame, that stuff can be evil. I get up and pee 2-3 times per night even when I'm not preggers, so imagine what I'm like now , but I too go with my eyes shut, no lights, no flush. Makes it seem as though I was never up.

Desperate - sorry about the blood letting. Good luck with it!

Suzanne - Hi! Have fun in Cancun!

Dar - When you're trying to get pregnant the whole world seems to be doing it effortlessly. It's so unfair. But it is totally random, and if you can figure out a way to be genuinely happy for your friend, then perhaps your karma will bless you with a pregnancy this cycle. Anything's worth a try right? I did have a feeling that I was pregnant both times. But honestly, the symptoms were such that it could just as easily have gone the other way and been TOM symptoms.

Hope everyone else has a good start to their day.

I can't believe it's August. This time is truly flying! I joined this thread at 10 weeks and am now in the 3rd trimester. I just noticed that a bunch of the new Moms have joined the challenge board (nursing Mom's? or something like that) so at least we can all continue to keep in touch after our big arrivals.

Regards,
LizzyD

Hi everyone,

Not much to report here other than some minor pink spotting over the weekend. No cramps or anything else and it appears to have stopped but not before it scared the crap out of me! Gonna all and report to the doctor here shortly.

Supportinghubby: No home birth for me, however I'm seriously thinking about going no drugs. Need to do more research, but we'll see.

Darlene: I was fairly certain I was pregnant when I hit day 30 of my cycle. I was an avid charter and when my temperature remained high 12 days after ovulation (luteal phase) I was sure something was up. Luteal phases are usually the same length and mine has been 10 days pretty consistently. I tested at that point and got a very very faint positive line. It was so faint I couldn't believe it until the doctor confirmed it with a blood test 3 days later.

DesparateinFlorida: Wow, and I thought I had bad veins! They can usually get me after 2-3 sticks but it's never easy! I'm dreading an IV too!

Suzanne: Have a safe trip to Cancun and I hope all goes well. Enjoy the AC!!

Amy: I'm having very restless sleep too. If it's not trouble getting comfortable the dogs are waking me up to go out, or I have to get up and pee... I think on average I'm getting up around 4 times a night. Very frustrating!!

Have a great day everyone!

Meg

Dar you reminded me of when hubby and I first started trying. There's a girl at work who is an admitted lesbian and 18 years old. Pops up pregnant and stated she had no clue how when she doesn't sleep with men. I banged my head against a wall wondering how ppl like this get pregnant easily (and evidently immaculately) when it took us over a year.

Good morning ladies!

We had a good weekend camping. It was hot during the days and cool at night. I got some of my scrapbooking done, but I'm afraid I'll never get that thing done! It's fun to work with though.

supportinghubby: I'm Sarah too!

Amy: Glad your m/s is getting better!

Suzanne: You definitely deserve to be lazy! I've been so impressed by all the stuff you've done!

Dar: I had NO idea that I was pregnant. I had SO many neg HPT's that I assuemd they'd be negative FOREVER. The only thing that made me wonder is that I had HORRIBLE cramps for weeks. But, I've never talked to anyone else who had that.

Lizzy: Congrats on making it to the 3rd tri!!

Gigl: I had spotting on 2 occasions early in pregnancy. Both were right around the time I would have started my period.

Good Afternoon mommies-

Amy- - Glad you are feeling a little better- I know that the peeing at night is a pain. I think it took me awhile to get used to it and know I can just go right back to sleep. (think of it as practice to get up with the baby- lol!)

DFL- I feel your pain. I have horrible viens. When I was little (around 3 or 4) I was in the hospital and they had to poke me 40 times to get an iv in me - Not much better now- I have 1 decent vein- the rest stink!!! Glad son is feeling a little better-ear infections suck.

Supporting Hubby- and congrats.

Sarah- Glad champing trip was fun. You took your scarpbooking stuff camping!

OK all this talk about Florida and Cancun is really making me miss the beach- This is the first year in 10 that we are not taking a vacation. We just had to much to get done around the house-

BBL!

Hi Everyone -

Had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed every bit of it We did put the house on the market Saturday and should have the sign up some time this week. I hope it sells fairly quickly, but will see. We have decided that it is the best time to sell the house, pay off bills, put some money away and just rent for about 1 year. We don't want to buy just yet as we aren't sure that we want to stay in Vegas. DH starts his new job today and if it goes well, then we will think about staying for a little while longer. Our goal is to only have house bills and nothing else so that I can work p/t or not at all.

Yesterday we did go to Sam's Club and it took all my energy out of me. We were there for about an hour and I was tired and my stomach was cramping. I think with all the walking and pressure it was just a little too much, so I just laid down for a while when we got home.

Amy - I get up about every 2 hours to go to the restroom, and like Suzanne I don't turn on any lights. I do go back to bed pretty quickly. As for heartburn, I seem to get more in the 3rd than I did in the 1st and 2nd. Sorry about how bad you have been feeling, but hopefully it is subsiding!

DespInFl - WooHoo on having a good tech that did the blood draw! Glad to hear your DS is feeling better!

Suzanne - Enjoy the rest, relaxation and AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!

Dar20 - Hi There! I can understand your feelings about your friend! Good luck on the HPT this weekend!

SupportingHubby - No Homebirth for me either! Welcome to the group and Congrats!

LizzyD - I can't believe it is August already either! Amazing how fast the pregnancy has gone. Before you know it your little one will be here. I go the Dr. on Thursday and we are going to discuss induction on the 16th, just 2 weeks away!!!!

Meg - Hope you are feeling better! I didn't have any spotting, but I know that some of the others have.

Sarah - Glad you had a good time camping and got some rest in.

Good afternoon everyone!

Work has been hectic so I have been MIA lately and will in and out for the next few weeks as well, I have to begin to train my back-up for vacation and maternity leave.

Dar~I have never been pregnant before and DH and I weren't even trying. My cycles were always 35 - 42 days, until I started LCing. I noticed they became closer to 28 - 33 days. DH was at work one night when I just got a hunch, even though I couldn't have been more than 1 day late, if even that. I had a HPT under the sink, so I used it. I found out at 11pm on a Saturday night. I went to Walmart right then and there and bought 4 more tests. Yep, they all confirmed it. I wish you luck. Just relax.

TMI~we pretty much "do our fun" on the weekends with an occasional week night when we aren't too tired. I usually count which day of my cycle I am on to decide whether or not to use any type of protection. I remember thinking that Wednesday night, 3/3, that it was day 14 and we should, but we didn't and POOF here I am. I even found the receipt from the Japanese dinner we had that night. I don't know that my boy will ever want to know about it, but it will be a keepsake for me.

I always said that this would be the way I would get pregnant, because if I had to plan it and try I would probably be too chicken to go through with having a child. I have always questioned whether or not I would have the patience to be a mom, seeing that screaming babies at malls drive me insane. But I am trusting everyone who tells me it is different when it is your own.

Desperate~ Glad all went well with giving the blood. That is kinda creepy someone would tell you if would be better to cut your hand off and let it drain in a bucket.

Amy~hope this trend of no vomiting keeps up! I am with all the others on the peeing thing. I consider myself lucky if I sleep more than 3 hours at a time without having to get up. I also go in the dark and don't flush (know it sounds gross, but I take care of it when I get up to go to work).

Sarah~what type of camping do you do.....tent camping, pop-up, rv? DH and I love to camp. We started out in a tent, but FL has such unpredictable weather, it seemed like we were constantly getting rained on and were miserable, not to mention the mosquitos. We graduated to a pop-up camper and then used our work bonuses last year to buy a smaller travel trailer. We love it, but unfortunately haven't been out since April.

Lizzy~I was having the same thoughts about how fast time is flying when I realized that on Wednesday I will be 24 weeks and I started the countdown in my siggy at 6 weeks. I am just a couple of weeks away from being in the 3rd trimester section of the intro.

Jen: Lucky you being able to get preggo so quick! As far as camping... we go in a travel trailer. My parents own a piece of land, so we don't go to camp grounds. We camp up there and it has water, sewer, etc... so it's easy living!

Hi Guys,

Not much new going on here…just last minute baby prep and work. We went to see Bourne Supremacy this weekend…I guess it was OK if you like the action/adventure thing. I’m aiming to have my last day of work be August 27 so that will leave me a week and a half to chill pre-baby. I went to a secondhand shop at lunch and found a baby tub and mobile for cheap. Seeing how mobiles are around $50 at Babies R Us I was excited to get one for $10. I’m a serious bargain shopper!

I have a doc’s appointment in about an hour and I think he’s going to do the Group B strep test. I’m hoping that she’s still head down and ready to go, which I think she is because I’m feeling her movements in the same place since last visit.

Hi to everyone…can’t no time for personals because I’m at work.

Hello everyone.

This time around I haven't had the urgency to pee during the evenings (most nights anyway). I'm sure it'll all change during the third trimester though. Amy, hopefully it'll get better for you. DinFL - yeah...that must be a pain, thank god he got it right the first time. Dar - I agree with the others, just have fun, it'll happen. Sometimes you can stress yourself out overit. I didn't plan on being pregnant both times but I guess we weren't NOT planning it either because we weren't using protection. DH and I both said if it happens, it'll happen. Sarah - I love scrapbooking. I got done with..ready for this...TWO PAGES this weekend It is a lot of fun but so time consuming.

hello ladies

I had a bad night last night!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know if it was the chinese food i had for dinner or what - mind you i only had a littel bit and it was not all greasy and fried, it was pretty healthy.....

I woke up at 11 pm with the worst pain in my stomach and sweating. My husband thought i was in labor!!!!!!! A few minutes later i threw up... I felt so yucky.

I feel better today, but still not great, i wonder if it was food poisoning, or what??????

The nursery is pretty much done, i will post pics soon, maybe next week when work is over.

This is my last week of summer school, then 3 weeks off, then back to school for 3 weeks until i deliver (unless he comes early).

I am sick of working, i feel so gross and huge and tired. On the other hand sitting home all day alone is boring.

My husband got a promotion, so it looks like if all goes well we can sell our house in the early spring and get "the dream house". OUr house now is nice, a 1800 sq foot raised ranch, but we want to get like a 3000 sg foot colonial.......The original plan had been in 2 years, so i was very happy to hear we could do it much sooner....

Hope all you mommies are doing well.....

Amy

Amy: I'm sorry to hear that you got sick! It sounds like your dinner definitely didn't agree with you. Great news about your DH's promotion! That house sounds fabulous!!
