Good morning ladies.

Well, I guess I'm in the second trimester this week, but it feels like I'm starting the first trimester all over again. I had to miss two days of work because of sickness. I was switching back to working midnights this week and Monday night would have been my first mid. I thought I had gotten enough sleep, but my body thought otherwise. I ended up vomiting from about 8pm til 3am that night despite the nausia medicine. Pretty much the same thing that happened the week before when I switched to working days. Tuesday night was my regular night off and I felt a lot better and thought that was going to be the end of it.

Boy, was I wrong. I woke up Wednesday with terrible heartburn. I opened up a new gallon of milk and had about half a glass. It tasted a bit off, but I just thought it was my taste buds. Well, I headed back to bed after drinking the milk, but woke up really nausious, so I though I should try to eat something so my tummy wasn't empty. Well, I had my usual bowl of cheerios with milk that I have when I wake up. That was a big mistake. Something was definately wrong with the milk. I felt even worse after eating the cereal, so I took my nausia medicine and layed down praying it would overpower the nausia. The medicine lost. I started vomiting. I couldn't even keep water down for more than 10 minutes. So after throwing up numerous times I gave up and called in to work again. I felt so bad for calling in even though I was in no shape to go in. Midnight sick calls are not fun to cover. Well, by Thursday morning I was having diahrea too. This is coming from a girl with rock hard stools since week 6! I think I got food poisoning from the milk. I hope I got all the nastiness out of me now.

I made it to work tonight, but I am still nausious, have zero appetite, and am downright exhausted because I haven't had a decent stretch of sleep for about a week and didn't get much to eat yesterday. I sure hope I get out of the first trimester doldrums soon, or my sweetie and I are going to seriously discuss not trying for #2 down the rode. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

Amy

Happy Friday Mommies~

I haven't been in here much this week because we've been super busy getting ready for our big move. We'll be leaving here in almost exactly a month, on August 31 & I am so excited! It's been a great experience living over here for the past 3 years, but we're ready to move back "home" to the States!

Amy~ I'm really sorry that you're having so many problems with m/s. It really is a misnomer to call it "morning" sickness when it lasts all day! When I was prgnant with my DD, I was sick all day, every day, for the entire pregnancy. I really hope it subsides for you & doesn't last long!

Well, I had more blood drawn for labs today (7 vials, ouch!) I'm 5 weeks today & have my first pre-natal appointment on August 10. I'm trying to be really careful & am hoping to stay far away from pre-eclampsia this time; I was really sick with it when I was pregnant w/my DD & ended up being induced because of it.

Well, I'm off to have my afternoon snack (frozen grapes, yum!) I'll try to pop back in later. Hope you girls have a great Friday!

Hi Mommies,

Amy, I am sorry you are still so sick. One of the wonderful things about pregnancy is that you get amnesia after the baby is born. Otherwise nobody would ever have more than one.

Blueyes, the frozen grapes sound wonderful!

Katie, I forgot to comment yesteday, but Kaden is darling. He is such an alert baby.

We are off to the city to do the banking, etc. Hope all the rest of you have a great day.

Saludos,

Suzanne

Morning Guys,

Well I've been reading every day but haven't had much to add so I haven't posted. The only thing planned for this weekend is DH and I are taking an infant/adult CPR and first-aid class tomorrow morning. I'm kind of classed out, what with childbirth classes for 6 weeks and then bfding class this week but I know this one is important. After today I only have 4 more weeks of work! I've pretty much decided that August 27th will be my last day, if not sooner. I'm so excited about not having to get up and go to work anymore.

Was someone else talking about leaking milk early? That has started happening to me too! It's only a teensy bit but it's still quite a trip. At least I know they work!

metro--That sounds just terrible! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. Even all the woes of the 3rd trimester can't compare to awful nausea. I hope you feel better soon.

blueeyedgirl--Mmmm, I'm going to have to freeze some grapes. I had a friend that would get them wet, roll 'em in sugar and then freeze them for candied frozen grapes. A little over the top but they were goood.

Suzanne--The reflux is bugging me too, it's not nice to have stomach acid go the wrong direction. I don't go anywhere without my Tums!

Sarah--You're right about the changes in pregnancy, especiallywith food. All my weird cravings (filet-o-fish sandwich, coney dog, chinese food) were in the first and second trimester and now I feel like I can barely eat without being super-FULL. I imagine this is how people with gastric bypass feel when they eat.

cynicalcyn--Wow! That is really a good looking family. And Alexia is just beautiful.

OK, I've gotta run to work. Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and weekend.

Edited to add: I can't see the pics of Kaden...there's just a red x. I tried right-clicking on 'show picture' also, to no avail. I used to use Photoisland and I know sometimes after you post the link for awhile it quits working.

Good morning ladies!

I see everyone is already up and about this morning!

I can so relate to those of you with the heartburn. I noticed it's worse whenever I wear anything not really loose around my waist or whenever I eat anything spicy/greasy/chocolate (of which I am craving all three). So I have also been living off Tums. I can't wait to get my hands on on some prescription Zantac or Prilosec.

The breast changes are what's driving me nuts right now. I look like a Russ Meyer model. My chest is almost where I was at my heaviest (250) but I am 48 lbs lighter. Now I know where all my weight gain has been going! . Not that DH is complaining of course.

Still on the house hunt and trying to get our house sold. Its slow due to end of month and realtors are concentrating on closing vs. buying or selling. So nothing good is coming on the market and no one is coming to look. Hopefully things will pick up on both ends. I waited to get Ciera's nursery done in month eight and that was no fun! I would like to be settled into a new home before then.

Well I've chewed your eyes out enough for one morning. Take care!

Morning All!

There are some early risers among us!

Metro: I too am waiting for m/s to subside. I was told that 12 weeks was the magic day where it all gets better. Ha. I have noticed too that when I am tired it is much worse, meds or no. We went boating on Saturday and just those lazy hours in the sun brought it on for me Saturday evening and all day Sunday. Plus, I have to be frugal with my prescription because they only give me enough for like a week at a time, and the pharmacy's in another town.

BlueEyed: Wow you are in for a big move soon! How exciting. I think you inspired me to pop some grapes in the freezer too.
Suzanne: Hi!
Trolly: I need to sign up for all those classes too, I just thought I'd wait till the third tri. Maybe I should just do it whenever I can get in! Did you take a BF class too?
Shandril: My Dh is still waiting for my BBS to grow, like he has heard, LOL. I don't think mine are bigger, just sore.
I hope you feel better!

Kelley

Good morning ladies!! TGIF!

We're going camping tonight. I got all of our grocery shopping done last night, so we just need to pack clothes and we're out of here after work. I'm looking forward to it. I hope it's not TOO hot during the day. I'm a scrapbooker, so I've been working on my wedding scrapbook (From over a year ago! ) I really need to get it done or I'll never get it finished after the baby gets here!

Amy- Oh, believe me... I feel your pain. I had horrible nausea in my first trimester. I didn't throw up as much as you are, but I always felt like I could any second. For me, it let up around 17 weeks and then was instantly better. I haven't had it again since. I swore I would never make it through this pregnancy, and that I would never have another kid, but Suzanne is right, our bodies have a way of forgetting once we are feeling better. Hang in there.

blueeye- I love frozen grapes!! I need to make some of those! Thanks for the reminder! And how exciting about the move!

Suzanne- Have fun in the city!

trolly- Do you feel that the classes you are taking are worth it? DH and I have discussed taking a birthing class, but I've heard others say that it wasn't worth their time. What's your take on it?

Shandril- Good luck house hunting! I know how frustrating it can be, but I know you find a PERFECT house!

Kelley- Good morning!!!

Well, I'd love to claim to be an early riser, but actually it's cheating a bit because we are 6 hours ahead of the East Coast, so it's actually just after 4:30pm here. I’ll be back on East Coast time in September, yay!

Mmmmm...that does sound good! I think just freezing them plain increases the sweetness of them; kinda like little bits of grape ice cream!

I'm a scrapbooker too, & I've just gotten up to the month after my DD's 1st birthday (she just turned 4!), so I guess you could say I'm a bit behind! I've had to box up most of my SB supplies in anticipation of the movers coming in a few weeks, but I've kept out my "essentials" & tools in a tote that I'll bring with me to travel. Hope you have a great weekend camping, sounds fun!

LOL.. I've been married five years and haven't finished my wedding album! I'm woefully behind.. but moving lots will do that to you. You'd think now that we're settled I'd get back into it, but then I discovered cross stitch.

Sarah—As for the childbirth class I really enjoyed it but mostly for the camaraderie with all of the other couples. The only new thing I learned was how to do the breathing but we learned that in about 10 minutes. We did practice the breathing too, which was helpful. The main benefit for us was that DH got to learn the basics of labor/baby care and since he’s not one to sit down and read all of that information (like me…I read about 10 books!) it’s good to know that he won’t be clueless in the delivery room now. I’m also glad we did it because it sort of mentally prepared us and we met some nice couples that we’re planning on getting together with post-baby. We’re also going to have a class ‘reunion,’ probably in November. So all-in-all I would say go for it if you have the time.

The breastfeeding class that we took was totally pointless…she just recited facts that I already knew. I waited too long to register and didn’t get the class that I wanted (I heard that a particular class was good) so that was the reason I ended up in the boring class. I think if you get recommendations and find a small class with a good teacher, it’s definitely helpful.

Madame X—I would schedule them for the 3rd trimester so that the information is fresh in your mind, you know? Just make sure to do it early because they fill up fast!

Dar and blueeye: So glad to know I'm not the only one behind! I'm a super artsy-crafty type person, but I'm known to have all my projects about half finished.

trolly: Thanks for the insight! It's always good to hear people's experiences!

Hi Mommies-

Amy- Sorry you are so sick - Hope it gets better soon!

Emily- Glad you get to move back to the states- bet you can't wait.

Katie- Like Trolly I can't see Kaden picture - Just the big old x.

Trolly- Have fun at your CPR class- I have to look into taking one. We are taking Jessica to a sibling class on Tuesday night. It will show her the hospital and room where we will have the new baby-

Sarah- Have fun camping.

I have never scrapbooked but I have been thinking about it. I love to take pictures and would like a better way to share them- Is it really expensive??

I passed my 3 hour test- I knew that I would. I also gained 5 pounds in 14 days- - But That means I have gained 7 pounds at 31 weeks- which isn't bad- I know I gained so much because they made me go on a high carb diet before the glucose test and my body was in shock because of all the carbs!

BBL!

Kristen: Scrapbooking can be very expensive, if you are as nuts about it as I am. Fortunately, Walmart has started carrying a ton of really cute scrapbooking materials, and they are MUCH cheaper then going to a specialty shop. Also, if you are an ebayer... you can find excellent deals there.

I'm just the opposite, ha, ha...once I started scrapbooking, my cross stitch got neglected! I'm frantically trying to finish up a cross stitch stocking that I've been working on for DH so that I can get it in the storage bins with our Christmas stuff before the movers get in here & pack stuff up. I want to make sure it's in one of the Christmas bins so that it doesn't go missing in the move.

I do tend to spend quite a few $$$ on scrapbook supplies. The military exchange over here carries very few supplies & I've been mostly buying online or shopping for stuff on trips back to the States. Last time I was in the States a few months ago, I came back with a whole suitcase full of scrapbook supplies! They guy that weighed my bags at the air terminal asked me if I was transporting bricks, lol! I would check out the selection at Wal-Mart, like Sarah mentioned. Last time I was home I got quite a few cute things from Wal-Mart (oh, & Target, too!) Can't wait to get home to shop!

edited to say: Congrats, Kristen, on passing the 3-hour test!

Hi all,

congratulations Angela on baby Michael!!! Yeah!!

Kristen, so glad you passed the glucose test!

Sorry about the milk poisoning Amy

Trolly, wow you are taking a lot of classes- we aren't taking any

Shandril, good luck in the real estate market.. pretty stressfull especially while being pregnant

Have fun camping Sarah

Hi Kelley, not much longer with the M/S I'm sure

Hi Suzanne.. happy banking

Well, I just got back from the hospital. The doctor was worried that I had polyhydramnios so she sent me to the OB. He was really nice, thought everything looked fine, just a big baby, and was ready to send me on my merry way and then.... he looked at my blood pressure. It has been reading higher but I started out at 136/75 prepregnancy, so I've always read high. Well, he took it and, of course, it was 140/90, so now he's worried about PIH or preeclampsia or whatever! Darnit, I was so close to escape. So he did a pile of blood work and I have to go back next week. He asked me to stop working and I said "Do I really have to?" I'm not ready to quit yet... It'll be a long two months otherwise. So, he did take a wait and see attitude, but still!! It is so annoying! I went home and cried. All I want is a nice, easy pregnancy with very little medical intervention and I'm getting this nightmare!! I am not swollen, no protein in my urine, I actually feel really good except quite moody and now I just can't stop crying!!! Next pregnancy, no doctors I tell you. All they do are unnessesary tests and stress me out!!!!

Have a great day everybody

Nicole

HI Everyone -

Nicole - Sorry about the trip to the hospital. Hope when you go next week and get the test results everything is fine. At least he did agree with you and not put you off work.

Amy - Yucky about the milk. Hope the m/s starts getting a little better for you

Suzanne - Hope you had a nice trip to the city today!

Blueyedgrl - Good luck on the move! Amazing how many vials of blood they draw on your first visit!

Trolly - Wow you certainly have been busy with classes! Add me to the list of leaking! Have a good weekend!

Shandril - Hope things turn around and the house sells quickly! We are going to put ours on the market once on September 1st.

Kelley - Hi There!

Sarah - Have fun on your camping trip! Anything to get out of the heat sounds wonderful!

Kristen - WooHoo on passing the Glucose Test! 7lbs at 31 weeks is awesome! Wish I could say that!

Went to the school today and registered Madison for the public school. DH and I decided to send her to the public and change daycares, which will save us $$$. They don't take infants until 3 months old, so I am going to talk to my boss today and make sure it is ok to bring my son to work for 6 weeks after I return from Maternity leave. I pray that will be ok or I just have to take a longer Maternity leave.

Wendy, I hope everything works out.

Scrapbooking - what supplies do you guys usually get? I want to start scrapbooking but don't know what to buy. I have the scrapbook and glue.

Emily,

I don't know where you live in Germany but I used to live in France and the papers and beautiful art supplies at their art stores were spectacular! Maybe not specifically made for scrapbooking, but surely cheaper than ordering from the States? eek! They used to have hand-painted marbled paper in all kinds of colors. Maybe call an art school there and see where they send their students for supplies?

Hi Mommies, we are home from the city.

Nicole, that's great news about the baby--better a big baby than some other weird problem. Angela can probably give you some good info on the BP issues. My BP got up to 140/90 last time and I got railroaded into a cesarean. In more civilized countries they will let you labor with higher BP.

Wendy, good luck getting more maternity leave or taking the baby to work. What kind of job do you have?

DH is going to change my power source, I'll be back later or in the AM.
