Hi Mommies,
I have been hesitant to take the new moms off the list after 30 days, or even 60 days, because that would leave a pretty small group at the top. How about we leave them for 90 days? Trolly, it was good to see that you are still around! Are you still working? Miss Gigl, I had snake dreams last night. Last night I slept in the hammock until midnight then moved to the bed and only had a little acid reflux. I'm trying to do most of my eating early in the day but I had a little something around 5 PM. It is too hard not eating from 3 PM onward and it didn't make that much of a difference. How's everyone else feeling today? Saludos, Suzanne |

Morning Mommies,
Hi Suzanne. I think 90 days is better! It's nice to still have the birthdate up top when they check in later. Nothing much to report here. I'm feeling really good. Enjoying the Democratic National Convention! We live just outside of Boston so we can't really get away from the coverage. Good thing I'm a WAY-left-leaning democrat or I'd be in misery! I seriously feel sorry for my 2 or 3 republican friends who live in Massachusetts. Hope you are all well. Busy day today. I'll check back later. Regards, LizzyD

Good morning ladies...
Well, I have (yet) another ultrasound today. This is to check growth, and the dr. is hoping that baby is about 4 lbs. Last u/s he was 2.5 lbs. I am just hoping he still looks healthy and strong and all is well. Cannot wait the next month till I get to see hime. Suzanne, I am practically living on Tums for heartburn. Like you, I cannot eat much in the evening, though mine isn't quite so bad. I sleep at least half the night in the recliner, which helps a lot. Lying down is just not comfy right now. Lizzy, what fun to have the convention in town. Have you seen any of the party bigwigs??

Dar20, whoever starts the thread tomorrow can add you to the list. I forgot and it is too late to edit, sorry!!!
Ellen, I envy you having a recliner! My hammock is pretty comfy, just takes a few days to get used to. Do you know if there is any danger from taking too many Tums? Last pregnancy, I was taking about 30 a day during the last month but I quit taking my calcium suppliment. I am having an ultrasound on Monday, my endocrinologist (who is also our pediatrician) wants to check the baby's growth. It's nice having a doc who is two in one, he knows a lot about all the interrelated issues of thyroid problems and a healthy baby. If only he was an OB, too, then I'd have it made! Lizzy, I know nothing about US politics these days but it sounds like fun. |

Good morning ladies!!
I was sitting here thinking today how much you change with pregnancy. Also, how much you change throughout pregnancy. When I first got pregnant I had ZERO appetite, felt sick all the time and all I wanted to do was sleep. Now, I'm hungry ALL the time... I eat like a horse!! I don't feel sick anymore and I have SO much more energy. Now, in about a month, I'll be into my 3rd trimester... who knows what that will bring!! It's just an amazing ride, isn't it! ![]() Suzanne: I'm glad you had a little less acid. I hope you get to feeling better with that! Lizzy: Enjoy the convention! ![]() Dar: Morning!! Teach: Good luck with the ultrasound today! I hope everything looks GREAT! ![]() |

Hi Everyone -
Yesterday I had to take Madison in for her 5yr check up and it was an absolute nightmare. She had to have 3 shots and it was horrible. She was so scared and was hysterical. One of the nurses had to sit behind her and wrap her legs around Madison's, the other nurse was holding her at the waist while the 3rd nurse gave her the shots. I was crying because she upset me so much. I was holding her hands and kept telling her to calm down and that she was going to be fine. I couldn't believe how freaked out she got. Thank goodness she doesn't have to have any shots for a long time. I also talked to the Dr to see if he was on call the week I am having my son. He isn't but Dr Shane is and will come and see the baby and do the circumcision. I was really hoping it was going to be Dr. Gary, but I am comfortable with Dr. Shane. Thininmex - Good luck at the U/S next week. I would not be able to stop eating at 3pm because I munch every couple of hours. I don't like to eat big meals, so I snack throughout the day and that seems to help! LizzyD - I can only imagine how crowded it is in MA. When we went to Boston 2 years ago I was amazed at the traffic and how crowded it is. We had a blast there and hope to go back next summer. Our friends have lived there for 5 years and they love it. Dar20 - Good luck!!!! Have fun trying Teach2live - Good luck with the U/S!! Hope he is at 4lbs and everything looks good! Sarah - Each pregnancy is also so very different. I can't believe how different it has been this time around for me. Kristen - I can't believe it is August and that I am second on the list I have had some very bizarre dreams. Well, check in with you later! Wendy |

Good Morning Everyone!
Suzanne: What a relief to be out of all the political hoopla in the midst of an election year! Will you vote in absentia? I hear many people here are thinking of doing that anyway if the electronic voting machines become a reality! I'm sorry about the acidy heartburn. I have a lot of acid with my m/s still (Hey, I thought 12 weeks was the magic nuber and it would go away! Not so!) and I would hate for it to return. I'm surprised at how much of pregnancy is just surviving! Sarah: Well, you give me hope! I hope my apetite returns along with some energy soon! I feel useless. Lizzy: Are you going to the convention or just experiencing it taking over your home town LOL? I missed Barack Obama's speech, darn it. I hope to catch Kerry tonight. Cyn: Cute Pics! Kristen: I hear zany pregnancy nightmares are the norm! I guess every single body function gets to be affected! Teach: Good luck at your U/S! I had another one on Tuesday. My bean was sleepy and barely moved a limb. It normally hates the pressure from the U/S (based on 2 others). They did the Nuchal Translucency Scan and all looked normal (whew). Eek! Gotta go! BBL! Kelley

Hey Cyn, Alexia is so darling!
Sarah, aren't you going camping today? Breath some cool air for me! Kristen, I always have weird dreams whether I am pregnant or not. Have you ever taken an NSAID called Toradol? That stuff gives me the weirdest dreams. Wari, that is so sad about Madison's visit to the doctor! Why did she need so many shots all at once? I am already bugging the pediatrician to order mercury free vaccines for this baby. If he can't, then this baby just won't get vaccinated. MadameX, I have become very politically apathetic as far as US politics go. It was actually kind of funny that Mexico had it's first honest election in 2000, the same year the US had the big Bush/Gore controvery over counting votes. |

Oh Wari, that is so sad about your DD! poor thing. I wonder if it was just the thought of getting poked?
Suzanne: I agree with the mercury-free vaccination thing. Even if you ask for it, how do you know? I guess I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it. Kelley |

Suzanne - These are requirements before starting Kindergarten.
Kelley - The dr. tried to tell her it would feel just like a pinch, but she wasn't believing him. Wendy |

Suzanne, I always had weird dreams with both pregnancies. From what I hear, its pretty common.
I had a dream the other day, that I was having triplets! I calmed myself down after reminding myself that I already had one u/s that showed one baby. Wari, was it a wellcare checkup? Everytime I take DS to one, he always gets tons of shot. Its becoming less now but before it was sometimes like 3-4. All the vaccines and stuff. Sarah, have fun on your trip. Kelly, do you work in boston? I can imagine the traffic being horrible. Cynthia, the pictures look great. Hi BabyBlue. |

I knew some people in the US who refused to have their kids vaccinated but I can't remember what they did about school. Maybe home schooling? Or maybe they got around it as a religious objection? Anyway, I have heard that thimersol free vaccines are available in the US. |

Dar - I don't like shots either. I am already dreading when I go in the hospital to have this baby because I will be hooked up to the IV and I hate the needle they are going to put in my arm. I can't look when they draw blood or put a needle in me.

Hi Ladies....glad to see everyone doing well and feeling good.
I feel well physically, but am having a very bad "mommy to be" emotional day. Coworker/friend is due the same day I am and she just seems to be experiencing so much more (fetal movement, already sexed the baby, looks pregnant). Found myself today questioning if our baby was healthy and if all was ok. What a terrible feeling that I still can't shake. When do you know if it's mother's instinct or irrational hormones? I don't ever recall this with my son...I even called my ex to see if he remembered such irrational thinking. |

FL: All pregnancies are different, so you can't gauge yours based on someone else's. And I hear ya about the fears. I'm having tons of them lately. It's awful, they are even carrying over into my dreams. I think it's normal.... atleast, I keep telling myself that!

I know I can't guage mine to hers.....what bothers me is how 180% different this one is from my first one. Plus it worries me that in my last 2 visits (12 weeks and 16 weeks) they couldn't find the fetal heartbeat and it took forever on the ultrasound as well. Just little things adding up I guess.

Popping in real quick to say congrats to Angela!! Can't wait to see the pics!
There is no way I can catch up on all the missed threads, so congrats to all new mommies! Here are some more pictures of Kaden. Sorry about my look - I'm lucky if I can get my hair done, which normally only takes 2 minutes... He is nursing every 1.5 hours, and it's killing me! I think he's going through a growth spurt. He already has 2 molars coming in. He's very fussy at night before I go to bed. Sometimes I feel like crying when he won't go to sleep. I just have to keep telling myself it's only temporary.... Other than that, and his watery BM, which the doctor said was normal, he's doing good. He chubbed up a lot - looks like a marshmallow man.
