Good morning Mommies,

Did I do this right ?

I'm not the techno whiz in the house (DH is). I just guessed at how to start the thread, so if I did it wrong, somebody can either tell me how to fix it, or we have to live with it for a day. Sorry in advance if it's the latter.

Dear Nicole -

Is there ANY way you can switch doctors? Even if you're pretty far along, you might find some luck looking through your local midwives practices. They usually know/are affiliated with the "good" (i.e. less invasive, good listeners, respectful of women's wishes) doctort in town.

I would be concerned about the doctor completely ignoring solid evidence that you are further along than she/he thinks.

I don't like ultrasounds for all the reasons you mentioned either, but you're right, it won't cause any lasting damage. But you have every right in the world to refuse an amnio. I's also grill this doc about what her/his preferred course of action would be if you went into labor on what you suspect to be your due date (in other words, 3 weeks early). Would she be recommending all kinds of interventions to keep the peanut in there even when he/she is ready to come out?

Now I've written a book. Sorry, but I get so worked up about the whole "Obstetrics Industry" and how they totally pathologize labor and birth. We are not sick, we do not have a disease. If we and our babies have good vitals and are low risk, technically speaking, there should be nothing for the OB to do.

Let us know hoe the U/S goes.

Cheers,
LizzyD

Good morning!!

I had the most distrubing dream last night. It was awful. I had to get up and walk around just to shake it becuase every time I would try and go back to sleep I would go back to the dream. I had a dream that my husband was cheating on me. (He would NEVER in real life). The worst part... it was with 2 women. And even worse then that, was that is was with my mother and one of her friends. Talk about DISTURBING!!! It took me a long time to shake it. I just wanted to cry.

Lizzy: Those are really good points you made.

Jeanie~

Mrs. Sarah~ I had my share of freaky dreams when I was in my second tri almost, halfway thru my third. I would wake up in a sweat, sit straight up in bed with such force that it would wake and freak Dan out. They were never directly related to the baby but things that would affect myself and the baby. Does that makes sense?

Hello Suzanne.

It's freaking COLD outside today. How can it go from +30 to like 10 overnight? No swimming for me today.

JEANIE I am so sorry for both of your losses. I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through. You and your family are in my prayers.

SARAH: OMG I don't know what it is about being preggers but I had so many of those weird/cheating type dreams too. I wonder if we get insecure in our subconscious or something while pregnant? I'd actually wake up and be mad at Mike in the morning for things he'd do to pi$$ me off in my dreams. Poor guy had to deal with all my hormonal stuff with pregnancy alone and he couldn't even do right in my dreams.

How is your back doing? Have you tried doing the *cat stretch* before bed? Where you get down on the floor on all 4's and then arch and bend your back, being on all 4's is supposed to encourage baby to change positions. Try it, maybe it'll help your little guy move to the front where he won't be putting so much pressure on your back. It gave me *some* relief. The bathtub helped too, I took baths EVERY night during the last trimester.

STACY: I don't know what was up with that dream. I was freakin' WEIRD!! I was trying so hard to not be upset with Mason this morning. I just wanted to bawl.

My back has been a bit better, but not totally. I'm still have those cramps in my butt/sciatic nerve. I'm going to bring it up to the doctor on Monday at my appointment.

How have you been my dear? How's little Cassidy?

Hope your bootie feels better soon.

Cassidy is doing great, she just had her 4 mo. check up and shots. She's weighing in at a healthy 16lbs.10oz.! She's growing up so fast, last night we went to ToysRUs to buy her a bigger carseat. BooHoo! It seems like they're only tiny for a minute.

Thanks for asking!

I'm back again. Oh how I wish it was nice out!

Does anyone know if loud music is bad for baby in utero??

When I took my car off the road Dan and I combined our stereos in his itty bitty cavalier. So we have two twelves in the trunk, a thousand watt amp and his weird sony explode stereo. So, needless to say it's loud but I like it that way! It's like pretending to be at a concert. Just wondering if the bass would hurt her? She moves a lot when we turn it up, she also moves a lot when Dan and I talk to her so I figure she likes it. I listen to stuff like uh, usher and joe buddens. My brother ALWAYS play motley crue and she likes that too!

We plan on taking the subs out of the trunk when we have her because there's no way a stroller and the sub boxes will fit in there together.

I hope Dan gets this new job in September then I can have my car back too. *sniff* I miss it sometimes. This new job would also give us full dental/drug/optical coverage and an extra 20 hours a week and $2 more an hour. It would at least triple what comes into this house.

I can't wait until Ontario gets it's butt in gear and finishes raising minimum wage. Right now it's only $7.15 or is it $7.10?

I don't know if it hurts them or not, but I wouldn't blast my music. They can hear a lot in utero. Loud noises can startle or scare your baby.

Cassidy has ALWAYS startled at loud noises, she startled in utero and she does to this day (at 4.5. mos.). Her sleeping/wake patterns are exact too!

SARAH we'll be waiting till the spring to try, probably April. My brother is getting married in Hawaii in March and selfish me wants to be able to drink.

Here's my little chunker today.
