FOr all the women...problems with TOM?
I've been reading on the boards that Atkins can screw up your TOM?
I know the first time I did LC I was on Lupron so I didn't get my TOM to begin with. Now I take the pill continuously so I don't get my TOM (to treat my endometetrios) however I know I was late taking them and I've had my TOM since Friday and it shows NO signs of leaving. Someone at my office said they had their TOM for 2 weeks straight (heavy and all) when they were on atkins. I'm a little nervous about that.... did anyone have these problems. |

I havent had that happen. But with ANY diet it can mess up TOM. It has to do with the release of hormones and estrigen (sp)

As time progresses your TOM evens-out. The first few months on LC can make them go nutty...but by the 3rd month my TOM was much better than before LC...on time, light, minimal PMS.

When I re-inducted, I was 56 days from last start!! I was really starting to get concerned. I had also just started on Westhroid for my thyroid so wasn't sure if it was LC or Thyroid related.

Ladies ...lets not forget hormones can go whacky as you get closer to Menopause...or even stress....or change in environment...all can add to period craziness.

When I did Atkins I had TOM for 3 weeks straight. It went away for a few days and then it came back again for 2 more weeks.

Mine went from being extrememly regular to all whacked out. I've been LCing for over a year now and they're still not right...I either get three a month or nothing for two months.
That's the only real downside to losing the weight that I've had though, so I'll live with it! ![]() |

Yep, and i'm on the pill, fcol. First month was a two week funfest, seconf month was three days on three days off and finall it's settled into a week early every month, pill regardless. It's also heavier on occasion and i have terrible cramps every other month. I console myself my focusing on the fact that it's all the estrogen stored in fat i'm shedding that's causing it.
