Good Tuesday Morning Ladies,

Miss Gigl, glad to hear you are still with us! Hope your energy level picks up soon.

Chris, glad to hear the twins are doing so well. Do you get to hold them more now?

Katie, where are you? Hope you are busy with your new baby.

We are off to the city. It is dead calm today so it will be really hot inland. At least the truck has A/C.

Hasta mas a rato,

Suzanne

Good Morning Everyone!

I have been busy for the past week doing landscaping and away from my 'puter. Still feeling sick just ablout all the time, but looking forward to when that starts to subside.

We had our first OB appointment yesterday and saw the babe on ultrasound! So cute! That little heart was just fluttering away and baby was waving both arms A LOT! I think we'll have a boxer or something. They even gave us a picture of him/her. I'm 10 weeks. Then, of course they took about half of my blood for all that testing they do. Did I mention I'm squeamish? It's so exciting to actually see a baby in there since I'm not showing yet; we wanted reassurance. I have not gained any weight yet, but my doc didn't seem too concerned.

How is everyone? I didn't read all threads I missed...did anybody have a baby these past 5 days? Angela you sound ready! I saw the new pics of Katie (so cute!) and read Pauline's birth plan. You didn't miss a thing! Please tell us how it goes and if they followed your plan and respected your wishes or if you just have to constantly remind them.

BBL!

Kelley

Good morning ladies!!

Whoever starts the thread tomorrow: We need to add JennPayton to the first tri list, I think she's 5 weeks now.

I so did not want to come to work today. I'm really struggling with this. I want to be a stay at home mom/wife SO badly. I crave it. I can't find away to accomplish this. I came to work sad and depressed. I just wish there were and easy answer.

Suzanne: Try and stay cool!

Kelley: Sorry to hear about you feeling sick. That subsided for me around 17 weeks. I hope yours is sooner! Also, congrats on the u/s! Aren't they so exciting!!!

Suzanne~ I meant to ask, what's the deal with gbs and strep throat? I am freaked now because I've had strep throat. Thanks.

Mrs. Sarah~ I quit work about a month after I got preggo. I was just too sick to work there (the smell of coffee would make me gag!) ack. Dan and I have learned to live on one income. Sometimes it's not easy but definately worth it for my sanity. There's no way it can be done? I had to give up a few things for awhile like my car/going out all the time but it's all good. Do you get any sort of maternity leave thru your work? In Canada you get up to a year at I think 60% of what you were earning. Dan is thinking of taking time off. Only one person can claim maternity/paternity.

Kelley~ I sure hope they follow it without me having to remind them constantly. I am almost tempted to just "accidentally" have the baby at home.....you know, she just came "so fast". That's how freaked out of hospitals I am. Wow, ultrasound at 10 weeks? I guess that's the norm. I stayed away from the doctor's until I was at least 19 weeks.

K, does anyone know what goes on at appt's from 35 weeks on? I get my test for gbs then what? I don't have to go back, right? haha.

Hi Everyone -

DH should be home tonight around 8:00pm. I also think DD is coming tonight as well if my brother decides to drive her home and stay the night. It is about a 4 hour drive from my mom's house, so don't know if my brother will end up coming or not. I would love to see him so I hope he decides to do it.

Thininmex - Enjoy your day!

MadameX - The 1st U/S is so exciting. Wait until you see the 20th week U/S!!!!

Sarah - DH and I are trying very hard to figure out a way for me to stay home. If he gets this job in Dallas I definitely think we can do it. I can definitely understand your feelings. Thankfully when we had Madison she stayed home until she was 9 months old. DH and I made arrangements with our bosses and changed our schedules so we didn't have to do daycare!

I did notice that JennPayton is listed in the 1st trimester as well as still trying. Also, KarateJen needs to have BOY added next to her name

Trishagrrl - Good to see you! So glad Bradley is doing well! Keep us updated. Can't wait to see pictures of him.

RedJewel - So happy to hear that they are both gaining and that Laura is taking the bottle!

Hope everyone is having a good day today!

Wendy

Just popping in to check on you ladies! I just returned from a week at the beach and wanted to share a few pics! Cassidy is now 4 mos. old, I honestly can't believe how fast they grow! It's amazing.

SARAH I hear ya on the wanting to be a SAHMommy, after a week with Cassidy I'm missing her terribly. Work sucks, but for now I need to be here. *sigh*
How are you feeling? Is the little guy wiggling a lot yet? I really started feeling Cassidy around 24 weeks, shortly after Mike could feel her too! I miss that. Are you keeping a journal? I love going back and reading my pregnancy journal. (call me crazy )

Our family at the beach:

Mama & Cass with matching jammys!

Cassidy (left) and Kylia on the beach, they're 9 weeks apart.

Wendy~thanks for taking care of us Jen's.

Sorry I am still MIA. Work is not letting up much at all. My focus through the day is "get done, get done" so I can get out of here at a decent hour.

I've missed dropping in on you guys.

Sarah~I am with you on the staying at home. But I am the major breadwinner of the house and I have no choice but to go back to work 6 weeks after birth. After reading a few of my pregnancy books and realizing how much time and energy breastfeeding takes, 6 weeks seems so incredibly short and unfair.

I will be back later!

P.S. - anybody get backaches starting as early as 20 weeks? My back has really been hurting lately.

The thing is, we could swing it financially. I could give things up, no problem. The thing that's holding us up in insurance. Mason's job doesn't offer it, so we get it through my job. I can't seem to find a way to make it work.

STACY: Great pictures!!! This little guy is moving all the time now! I love it! I feel him all day. It's just so amazing. I have been keeping a journal, but I need to be better with it. I know I'll treasure it when the baby gets here.

Hi all! M/s is kicking in and I am NOT happy about it! (As if anyone ever is, right?) I thought I was going to die yesterday. I brought left over pork chop and broccoli for lunch. Couldn’t eat it. Heck, I could barely look at it. I ended up eating a whole lot of cheese sticks and some watermelon that some dear soul had brought in. Guess, lc’ing is out for now. The only problem with that is everyone at work will know I’m pg. I went out for lunch today, but I can’t afford to do that all the time.

Sarah- I bawled for about ½ hour in the car the first day I dropped my dd off at daycare. I don’t think I have much choice but to be a sahm after this one since two daycare tuitions will eat 2/3 of my take home pay. Dh doesn’t see it that way, but I’m working on him…

Pauline- I think they test everyone for Group B strep, and if you test positive, you just get antibiotics during the delivery. The bacteria can cause an eye infection in the baby, I believe. And as far as I know, it has nothing to do with strep throat.

OK, while we’re updating the list… my due date is 3/10/05.

Hi Everyone.

Sarah, I hear you. DS is now 22 months and its still hard for me to leave him everyday. My goal is to go part time next year after this baby or quit all together. DH and I are looking into different franchises that we can do so I can be a SAHM.

Stacey, great pictures. You have beautiful children.

Congratulations Kelly.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you, and enjoy your time *trying*, take it from me, now that we have an infant in the house the sex is far and few between. LOL. Sad but true, sleep is just MORE important than action these days.

Hi everybody,

Pauline, I think Sarah means medical insurance. You and I are the spoiled Canadians on this thread with our health care system. In the US, the cost of medical, especially when you have a family, can be astronomical!!!

Day off today... thank goodness. I'm still so tired! Anybody have any remedies?

What amazing pictures at the beach of Cassidy and family!! Stacy, where are you? That beach looks gorgeous (so does your whole family!!)

Sarah, My plan is to stay home for my year-long maturnity, go back to work for, hmmmm nine months to get enough hours for one more year maturnity leave. At the end of that year, I'm going to quit and be a SAHM for two babies!! Hoping this plan works out. I'm not going to need daycare because my mom is retired and in town, plus I do shift work so DH can be with baby for part of the time too!!

Sorry about the MS Amy and Kelley. It really does suck. The only thing I liked about it was I could finally tell that I was actually pregnant.

Good luck fit!! I hope to see you here with the rest of us really soon.

Sorry work is so busy Jen... hope you get some time to relax.

Have a good drive in-land Suzanne. Thank-goodness for airconditioning.

Hi Wari. Any news on the job front for DH? We haven't heard anything and they were supposed to let hubby know by Friday, Monday at the very latest. GRRRRRR. I hate waiting!!

have a great day!!!

Ashley: I'm so glad you checked in! I was afraid we had lost you!! I hope this next cycle is it for you!

Lapretty: I'm talking about health insurance. It's so dang expensive to do privately.

Nicole: You are SO lucky that you get a whole year! I'm so jealous. I'll get anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks depending on how this pregnancy goes... *sigh*

NICOLE we were in Siesta Key, Florida. My parents have a condo down there so we spend a lot of time vacationing there.

SARAH have you bought anything for the little guy yet? Have you thought about how you'll decorate the nursery?

Hi guys-

Stacey- That picture of Cassidy and Kylia is the most adorable picture! They are so cute. Looks like you had a good time-

AmyJuli- Sorry about m/s - I know that it sucks. I had it really bad with Jessica.

I would also love to be a sah mom- but not possible. I do feel better know that one of my best friends watches her. She is the best babysitter every- I swear. She even takes pictures and made a scrap book for me of their activities. Man she has been a godsend. -

STACY: I haven't run out and bought anything for a boy yet. I think I'm waiting until my next u/s... I just want to be sure! LOL! I drug out my bedding and Peter Rabbit pictures last night to try and come up with a wall color. It's hard! The colors are really soft and I can't seem to come up with a color that will look good with both the bedding and the pictures. They seem to match, but I can't find a common color other than blue. I don't want the whole room to just be blue, plus if it ends up being a girl, I want it to be able to work for her too.

I'm still thinking on it. Who knew this stuff was so hard.

Hi Ladies,

Stacy: Cassidy is adorable love the pic of the two of you in pj's!

Sarah: I understand exactly what you mean. I think I cried every day for 2 weeks after Bradley was born because its so terrible to think of leaving him for work. I'm not so emotional anymore but I'm still dreading it. Less than 3 weeks to go
We have the same problem... I get the insurance. So until Jason finishes school (March 05') and gets a job with insurance I'll have to work.
Good luck trying to find a way to stay home! I've been doing my best to try to figure out a way for me.

Hi all. I'm up to my neck in peaches today. Just checking in quick and then I'm off to make jam. I'll be doing this for a few days now!!

Mrs. Sarah... dd's nursery was decorated with Beatrix Potter characters (Peter Rabbit, etc). The walls are painted a pale yellow. and then the decorations are soft garden colors (greens and blues, etc). It worked well for us, and will be a nursery for this little boy, too!

Sorry I don't have much time to chat this week. Busy busy busy. Still going in 2 times a week for fetal testing, and hoping to make it as far as I can. 30 weeks today!!!!!!!!!!!
Yahoooo!!!!

Stacy - Cassidy is adorable!!

Jen - Hope your day was good and you got out of work at the right time!!!

AmyJuli - Sorry to hear about the M/S! Hope it subsides a little for you!

Viki - Hi There!

2BFit - Hi There! Glad you checked in!!! Good luck!

Nicole - DH is in Dallas as I type this. He was meeting with 8 different people today and I should hopefully hear from him in about an hour. Hope you hear soon about DH! Don't you just hate this waiting!

LA - I know that my dr will do an internal to see if I have dialated.

Kristen - You are very lucky to have a close friend watch your little ones.

Teach2live - HI There! Hope you can relax a bit.

It is amazing how expensive health insurance is. I pay $193 a paycheck for just DD & I. DH had his own insurance through his former employer and paid $80 per month. If I put him on my insurance it would be $405 a paycheck

That sounds exactly like what I've been thinking! I have three pictures, one of Peter Rabbit, one of the Tailor mouse and one of Gemima Puddle Duck. They are matted and have light blue frames. They are so adorable! The bedding I have is a country patchwork quilt style with mostly sage green. The patchwork has baby blue, cream, tan, green, maroon and yellow. I think a pale yellow would look good. I just don't want something too bright. Thanks for the idea!

It is amazing. I found out a few weeks ago that DH's company does offer insurance, but it would be $700 for just the two us. WTH? They are hoping to have a better insurance package in a year or so. I hope so...
