Menopaused, but still cycling?
I'm 52 years old, haven't had a period since 2001, am not on any HRT (take Evista), but I've noticed that I still seem to "cycle" weight-wise. On a regular basis, I have increased cravings, unexplained weight spikes or lows, mood swings, etc.
Anyone else experience this? |

Hi Addie,
We are the same age and i am post menopausal. I have heard women say they can tell when they would have had a visit from TOM but can't say I've been able to tell. Interesting though. You might go to the Health/Med issues board and post your ? there. Nonie |

Addie,
I used to be a weight counselor and a lot of women who have had hysterectomies or are past menopause still have their monthly weight-gain cycles. It is odd and I don't understand it, but too many women have had that experience for me to doubt it. I hope that it fades away for you. Redstar |

I'm really sorry to hear this!!! I'll be 52 next month. Although tests showed last year that I'm post-menopausal, I've continued having periods. For the past 5 weeks I've put on 4-5 lbs., even though I've been sticking to the plan. Just this morning TOM showed up - for the 3rd time this year. Every time I have a cramp I just smile and say, "Bring 'em on!!!" Hopefully this means my wt. will start going back down!!!!
I wish I had some help for you, besides just the knowledge that others are sympathisizing with you! ![]() |
