Good Tuesday Ladies,
We are off to Cancun in a few hours. Yesterday my sister emailed me that my mother has lung cancer. Supposedly it's not really too bad at this point but I feel helpless because I can't even travel to go see her. And it will probably takes us several weeks, if not months, to get the baby's passport after she is born. So I have no idea when I'll be able to travel to the US. In the meantime, I am so glad I quit smoking. Now it's time to go work off some of this butt. Mas a rato, Suzanne |

Suzanne - I am very sorry to hear about your mom. Lots of
... Chris - Glad your babies are gaining quickly! I can't imagine not being able to hold them. I hope you're recovering well from your C-sec! This week is my last week at work. I did a lot of walking over the weekend, so hopefully I progressed some. It doesn't feel like it though... My mom will be coming next Monday, and she'll be here for a month. Where's Angela??? And lizzy???? Forgot to add, and congrats AmyJuli!!Last edited by FluffiB : 07-06-2004 at 06:40 AM. |

Suzanne, praying for your mom.
Question for you ladies.... I was reading a pregancy book last night and came across a section about yeast infections. It said that if you have yellow or green discharge or it smells to call your doctor. Well, I have had quite a lot of cervical mucous and it is yellow and thick in color not white or clear. It doesn't smell bad though, but now I'm concerned that I might have a yeast infection as I was also itchy a few days ago, but haven't been since. My next doctor's appointment is next Tuesday so I will be sure to ask about it then unless I get itchy again before then. I'm just wondering if any of you have had a lot of cervical mucous that was yellow and thick and if that is normal. I didn't think much of it until I read that book. I guess I'm a little concerned, because my grandma lost her first baby due to a yeast infection and I don't want that to happen to me. I've never had a yeast infection that I know of (lots of itchiness in the past but always tested negative for yeast) so I'm not sure what to look for. Any help is appreciated. Amy

Hi, Amy. It's normal to see a lot of CM when pg. Mine sometimes have a yellow tinge, and it would itch off and on. It's mostly thin though. Do you normally see this type of CM around the same time every month? If so, it could be normal (I used to see exactly what you saw right around ovulation). If it has a foul odor, it could be bacterial infection. Itching could've been caused by irritation from being moist. If you call your dr, they might recommend you to treat it with Monistat, or since you've never had an yeast infection, they might have you come in. Good luck!

Good morning... good to see people back again after the holiday. I was so tired yesterday. Kept sitting down and falling asleep, several times for hours. Hoping to have a bit more energy today, though I am still pretty tired. I had terrible bad dreams last night and kept waking up. It was awful, they were so real. Thankfully none were baby related, but still, scary stuff!!!
Hope all is well. I am feeling very nervous about this baby right now. His movements have slowed down a lot. He'll be very active for a little while, and then nothing at all for several hours. It's really driving me nuts. Not sure if I should call the dr. about it, or just wait till my appt. on Friday. Sigh....

Amy
I never had much CM or discharge on the Pill either but I normally get thick yellow like you described and not an infection. I especially get tons while pregant, many different kinds too. You could mention it to your dr but I think bacterial vaginosis has other symptoms, you'd probably know if something was wrong. Your dr might want to test you for it but i am not sure. I never mentioned mine to my dr and i usually ask about everything. I have even had periodic itchiness during pregnancy but it went away and never progressed into anything. Also I think infection discharge would have a foul odor and I have heard it looks "cheesy", I don't get yeast infections much so I don't know. Sorry, TMI I know. Hope that helps!

Hello all, I am still alive!
![]() Suzanne~ Sorry to hear about your mom. I'll keep her in my thoughts. Amy~ I have had TONS of discharge since I got preggo. Nothing yellow though. It's even annoying to have sex. definately check it with your doc.I was reading through older posts and was kinda sad to see that the first name we picked for our baby girl was the same name someone already used. I feel really bad now. So, what would you do? I don't have to put her name on my sig anywhere but I am sure one day it'll slip. *sigh*I don't want to be the "copier"!

Hi Everybody,
glad it was a good long weekend for you guys!! Teach, I was reading in one of my pregnancy books that around 28 weeks your baby has very distinctive periods of being awake and active and resting. As long as you are feeling baby move sometime during the day, you probably have no need to worry. Are you doing kick counts? I've been doing them... I see how long it takes for her to move ten times, usually two times a day. If I've just had something to eat or drink and I'm lying down on my side, she usually moves ten times in less than a minute! My book mentions that you should call your doctor if ten minutes have gone by, you've had a glass of O.J. and are resting, and you haven't felt the baby. Oh Lapretty, nobody would ever think you were a copier. You can pick any name you want! I've told everybody what my names are, and I've had a few people say, aren't you worried somebody else will pick you names? I don't care. I like it if other people also think my names are beautiful. Does it really matter if my Bethany goes to school with another Bethany? Nope. Sorry to hear about your mom Suzanne. I lost my dad to cancer when he was quite young. Nobody in my family ever smoked, I think it was just amazingly horrendous luck. At the age of thirty-two, he had a grapefruit-sized tumour in his leg muscle. Extremely rare!! He had his entire leg amputated, recovered and 18 years later got another primary cancer, pancreatic!! Doctors actually think that this was caused by the chemotherapy from the other cancer. Bad bad luck. However losing dad at the age of six would have been far worse that losing dad at the age of twenty-four. It definitely bit the big one though!!!! It sure kept me aware of my health. I've never even had a puff of a cigarette. Cyn... congrats on losing all that weight. Excellent job!! Glad you had a good time in Cancun. Glad you had a fun camping trip Sarah. Wow, four weeks along Ictchr!! You sure found out early!! Congratulations. Hoping you progressed Fluffi!! Hi to everyone else. I gotta run... I've got a doctors appointment. Just the usual, listen to the heart-beat, pee in a cup, take b/p and weight, tell me that my uterus is enormous but I don't have twins or gestational diabetes. Or, as RedJewel put it, everything is NORMAL!!! OH, congrats on the babies Chris!! I'm glad you got to hold them. I hope they come home soon. And I wish you a speedy recovery on your C-section!!! Hello everyone! Thank for the warm welcome.
I'm doing just fine. This is my first day of work since getting the bfp and I'm totally unmotivated. It's going to be a looooong 9 months.Suzanne- I’m so sorry about your Mom. Where does she live? Maybe there’s a way to apply for an expedited passport for the baby? Oh, and you’d asked how tall I am… 5’5” so a good bit shorter, but we really do have similar stats other than that. Amy- I’ve already started with the yellow cm. lol I seem to remember having the same thing happen with my first pg. Cynthia- Happy Anniversary! Teach- I remember worrying about movement. I’d poke my belly and yell “Everything OK in there?” Dh thought I was nuts. ![]() Pauline- The name you pick becomes the kids name as soon as she’s born. Doesn’t matter where it came from or who thought of it first. Sherry- Hey! 3/10/05 is my due date too! I know what you were doin’ on the 16th of June. (wink wink) Well, thanks again for the welcome.

Aphexid... Yes, I am doing kick counts. However, my dr. said that as long as I felt 10 movements in 30 minutes it was ok. Usually it takes about 10 minutes for 10 movements, though sometimes (like yesterday) it takes longer. I am just very very nervous!

Hello everyone. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. Haven't checked in for a couple of days.
Suzanne, so sorry to hear about your mom. Hopefully, you'll get to go see her soon. Well, I can finally start eating meat again. LOL. The smell doesn't make me naseous anymore. I'm still doing pretty good with my eating, not as low carb as I would like it to be but I'm still happy that I'm not doing a junk fest. I love fruits though and now (ok, this week), my favorite food is pudding. I'll check back in a bit. Do or did any of you moms hate the early stages of pregnancy due to not feeling the baby? I know at the later stages, I always felt better because I could feel DS moving around. Now, at the early stages, I'm so paranoid, that I can't wait for my next appointment just to make sure that the baby is okay and I can't wait to hear the heartbeat. Just my paranoia. |

Sorry I can't do personals right now - I did want to tell SUZANNE that I am thinking of you and praying for your mom!
I have been contracting ever since my appt last Thursday - MISERABLE. I have been having tummy "issues" as well. Went to my dr this morning and 'LO AND BEHOLD I am 3cm, 70% effaced and he is at -1. THANK GOODNESS!!!! I was so scared I was going to go in and have no progression. I am still having contractions today and feeling really sick to my stomach, running around tying up loose ends. The dr doesn't think I will make it to next week, if I keep contracting I will go back in later this week to be checked - and if they EVER get into a pattern I am heading to L&D. I am excited and ready for this pain to be gone!!! I will try to pop back in later!

Hi Everyone -
Hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend. I had a wonderful weekend just lounging around the house. DD and I hung out together yesterday while DH was at work. I asked her if she wanted to go anywhere and she said no, I want to stay in my house because I like it so much. So, we read books, watched TV and colored. She did her dance routine and tried doing cartwheels! Angela - WooHoo on the progression. I can't wait to hear that Michael has arrived!!!! Good luck this week! Katie - Hope you show more progress at your next appt. Sarah - Sounds like a fun weekend. I told DH that I wanted to go camping, but he said NO because he thought I would be to uncomfortable. Suzanne - to you and your family. Sorry to hear about your mom.Amy - Has the MS subsided?? Kristen - Another busy weekend for you. Hope you have some time to relax this coming weekend! Cynthia - Sounds like a wonderful time in Cancun! Happy Anniversary!!!!! Sherry & Amy - Welcome and Congratulations!!!! LA - No one would think you are a copier! Nicole - Hi There! Good luck at the dr. Viki - Glad you can eat meat again! I wasn't paranoid about not feeling the baby, but I do understand what you are saying! Wendy |

Sarah - I love tent camping. Every summer my parents would pick us up on the last day of school and we would head out to Yosemite. We do have a matress, so I don't think I would have been that uncomfortable. I am looking forward to doing some camping next year when the little one is bigger!!!

I have a question for you guys. How close to your due date do you intend to start your maternity leave? Or are you going to stick it out ‘till the end? I’m not sure what to expect as far as how I’ll feel, how easy it is to get around at 9+ months and whether working up until the end is practical. I might have the option to work at home but that remains to be seen…
